Ordered a 47re comp1 trans. We waited the month lead time and got got this beast of a trans. Once installed we had some issues. I contacted Andy and we had the issues diagnosed. He got me a new transmission in a week. Best customer service you could ever hope for. I ll recommend Firepunk to anyone that needs a great product and awesome support. Good job guys!!!

Bought a 48re from them December 2024 and I haven t been happy with it since I put it in. Truck shifts so hard expecially in 3rd gear that I don t want to drive it and I m embarrassed to have any one ride with me because they look at me like we are about to be walking when it shifts. I ve called Andy several times he keeps re assuring me that this is normal and that my truck needs traction bars. I don t think it needs traction bars I m not towing anything or launching the truck I baby it and it still does it. I ve had several people ride with me that know more about it than I do and they all say traction bars won t fix it. I m not wasting 600 more dollars to prove them wrong. I also live 6 and half hours away so it s not convenient to have them look at it either. So ig I ll wait and hope it fails in there Warrenty period but judging by the other reviews that s a joke to

Lessons learned:Check all their reviews, good and bad.Ask them what happens if there is a part failure in the product they are selling you.Have it in writing.I will give just the facts on this one. I purchased the Firepunk 768RFE in November 2022 for my 2016 Ram 2500 to replace the factory transmission that had started to slip in my overdrive gears. I did some research and landed my decision on this Firepunk 768RFE. Fast forward a year, returning from the Thanksgiving trip, and this transmission is gone. Keep in mind my factor transmission had just over 75K miles. The new one had less than 7k. The warranty on the transmission is, supposedly, good for two years, but it turns out it doesn't cover transmission component failure. The following is their diagnostic and note on the invoice: "Low Reverse piston retainer clips blew off. Burnt L/R Clutch. Tran needed to be completely torn down and cleaned. U/D clutches were hot and got replaced. Reused O/D. 4C and 2C clutches" for a grand total of parts and labors of just over $4K. During my conversation with Andy, I mentioned my large tow bill since the breakdown happened out of town, and he graciously took off their repair bench fees of $1k, leaving me with the parts cost for repairs of just over $3k. So I am currently out that, plus the tow fees, the cost to get the transmission out and back into my truck, and the fluid cost. I can understand part failure and the fact that they source these components themselves, but I didn't source those parts, and that little retainer failure damaged that transmission. The hard part is that this is supposed to be the best of the two transmissions they offered with billet parts, yet it failed in such a short period with so few miles. I do not hotshot my RAM nor drive it daily, and I was hoping that for the cost, I could have gotten the best life out of it. Again, this is my experience. Take it for what it is. You may have gotten one from them that has been flawless; I am super stocked for you. It just was not my case. And based on that experience, I would not expect much from their warranty. You can get it and not have an issue, but know if something goes wrong, you may be paying for the damage. At this point, I am awaiting the repaired transmission and hoping for the best since I have so much in this transmission at this point. Words of caution: remember to do your homework and ask the vendor what happens if there is a part failure in the product they are selling you, and have it in writing as much as possible.

I can see why everyone on the forums recommends these guys. I didn't spend very much $ but the package they sent me for a $80 item was really nice. They even included a hand written note thanking me for my purchase. Everything else I buy for this cummins build will be from them if they carry it.

My grandson took his 04 ram there. They bullet proofed the Trans which was hurt. Turned up the pump. This truck is fast and pulls our 5000lb travel trailer like it wasn't there.. I kept looking back to see if was still there.

Called to confirm product availability, verified website item said it was in stock and ordered it within two days of email verification. I get an email saying it s back ordered and a 3-4 week lead time after they said it would be a 16-18 week lead time if it wasn t in stock. I express my displeasure and wait for an exact eta on shipment because I m willing to wait 3-4 weeks. Instead Andy refunded the money without asking if I wanted to wait. Website should be updated and you should have asked if I wanted a refund instead of just assuming and restarting the entire lead time clock.Reached out to Rick this am and he said they never had any in stock and Andy was wrong there never were any in stock.TO OWNER:To answer your response. Rick said there were never any in stock, but andy did. So I ordered it and then you tell me it s out of stock after I pay. We try to reach out and we get no response for the weekend. So you held my money for the weekend. And Andy never said it COULD take up to 16 weeks he said, and I quote If what we have sells out it is a 16-18 week lead time . So all 3 of you have now told me different things.I have been trying to get my hands on this manifold for almost 2 years without having to spend $836 and waiting for a 16-18 week lead time that seems to continue to grow larger everytime I reach out. So please understand my full frustration when you and your website both say it s in stock. I order it and then I m told I have to wait. I did the best I could by verifying with your guy. Andy said they sold from the time we talked and I ordered. And Rick said there were never any. And that you post them on Facebook and usually get an order every 3-4 weeks. So these are 3 different stories. So don t feel sorry for me feeling this way. Update your website and make sure your team members are on the same page and product stock is up to date.

Bought their 48RE Tow Master trans for one of our work trucks. As we were installing the rear cooler line, the case cracked. Lavon points out in one of his videos that this is a common failure point and that the fix is a Sonnax repair kit. So we order that and install it. There's still a leak. I call Firepunk and talk to Andy and he tells me that customers don't tighten them enough and that we just need to tighten it more. So I do and an entire chunk breaks off the trans. Their response was to send it back and pay them $500 for shipping. We had zero miles on this trans and we had to pay them more money to warranty their product. Then on the replacement trans we received, the crossmember bolt holes were all jacked up so we had to install Heli coils to remedy the situation. But we mysteriously installed the rear cooler line correctly on this one. Yay for us.I was really let down by this purchase. As I was the one who recommended Firepunk to my boss.

These guys are absolutely some of the best people you could meet. They are very professional and are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to Cummins motors and anything attached to it. My 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 and my father-in-law s 06 run better now than they did before we got there. Looking forward to going back for more upgrades in the future.

I have called their tech support line on various occasions and have always been pleased with the results following their advise. They diagnosed my fuel pressure issue over the phone in a matter of minutes. Saved me several thousand dollars and the headache of chasing the issue and replacing unnecessary parts. These guys know their stuff!!

Got their Towmaster trans for my 2000 Cummins. Great service, flawless delivery and core return. Installed myself so I called with a few questions and they were quick to respond and very helpful. Just made the maiden towing voyage and man, this trans performed flawlessly and it shifts like an absolute dream. Highly recommend Firepunk!

I purchased a tune after speaking with one of the hands back in 2019, unfortunately the motor did not make a 100 miles as a result of pistons that were undersized from D J precision! It took a little effort and finally Levon sent me a tune and my truck in street tune runs strong, I have roughly 6000 miles on my truck and after the winter will put in the max tune to see how it runs. These folks will work with you if there is any issues so you will be happy with the results, they are busy so bear in mind it might take a little while for them to get back with you but again worth the wait!

I smoked my transmission so I called and scheduled an appointment. They told me they could get it in and have it done in 1 day! I chose to drive 4hr one way rather then ship the trans and I had it there at 8:05 in the morning. Needless to say we came back early around 1:30 and it was assembled and painted. Matt pulled me out in the shop and showed me all the clutches and gave me a quick tips and tricks session. Over all talking to Lavon, Larson, Andy, Matt and a few other guys. They are all great to deal with and treat you with respect. I can't say I have a single complaint other than maybe answering the phones. But being there I seen it first hand how busy these guys are. Great service and great work. The trans checked out perfectly in every way! Firepunk has all my business from here on out! Big thanks to the Firepunk team!

I bought a street track transmission from Firepunk in 2019. the first trans they put something together wrong so I had to take it back and they gave me another one. it lasted two years and one month exactly. after the two year warranty went out my transmission failed. All clutch is gone. Converter failed.I called them and asked them for any help and they said it was $650 for them to take the transmission out just to look at it and put it back in my truck. And they also stated I would have to pay for all parts and repairs because my warranty expired one month prior. I would not recommend them as customer service was rude and not very helpful. I got a $7000 transmission that doesn t work.(including labor)

Purchased a tow transmission, had issues with the pan that came with it leaking, they sent a replacement and it continued leaking. I took it to a transmission shop they recommended an OEM pan. I replaced it. According to the warranty the service should have been covered. I cannot even get this company to sent me a shipping label to send the two pans back to them. I will scrap them for the aluminum and call it a wash. Glad my issues were only with the pan as I have zero confidence that this company would hold to their warranty. The issue isn't shipping costs-- it is the cost of the repairs to right what was wrong with the built transmission that was purchased and the defective pans that needed replaced. There was no resolution from the company.

I have to say I was severely disappointed with my recent Firepunk experience. When I first had my trans built and installed I was happy, all the guys in the shop were nice/polite and they even brought in breakfast the day I had my trans put in. My most recent experience was not so pleasant though. On November 6th 2021 my transmission failed while it was about one year and nine months into its 2 year warranty. I called to schedule my truck in for some repair work and was told December 14th was the soonest it could get into the shop which was well over a month out. That wasn't very convenient for me considering this is my company work truck and I use it daily for my business. I messaged Lavon directly to see if there was anything that could be done. He said there were no guarantees but it the truck was down there waiting if someone cancels etc that they could roll it in early and work on it. So I hauled the truck down there early hoping they could get it in. On December 14th I called them to find out what the situation was with my truck sense I hadn't heard from them and that was the original date for the truck to roll into the shop. I was told that the trans pan was filled with chunks of aluminum and clutch material. I was also told that they believe the torque converter failed but they weren't positive, so it was sent out for evaluation. I was also told that there was a chance it wasn't the torque converter, and they were going to call me and see how much money I wanted to spend for them to continue diagnosing my transmission that was still under the 2-year warranty. I was told it is a workmanship only warranty over the phone when I questioned it talking to Andy. So, I proceeded to look up the warranty after that phone call and reading what is written, it's supposed to cover workmanship AND defective parts. I proceeded to email Lavon directly and Andy called me the next day to tell me that Firefunk would not be covering anything except the torque converter which has its own warranty. I would be responsive for all other labor and parts. At that time, I also found out that there was roughly a 2 week turnaround time on the torque converter. Finally, on January 3, 2022 at about 10am I received a phone call telling me that my truck was finally finished and I would be getting an email with the invoice. I was down there the next day right about 24hrs after I received that phone call telling me the truck was just finished. The return email stated that after speaking with Lavon, Firepunk decided to wave the labor and just charge me for parts. The invoice also included a $400 fee to cut and clean the torque converter that failed. According to my original paperwork this torque converter has a LIFETIME warranty. I was further surprised when I walked into the office to pay what I owed them. I walked into the office and told the lady behind the counter my name and that I was here to pick up my truck. She messed around on the computer for a few seconds then turned around and asked Andy to make sure it was the correct invoice. He said yes and didn't say anything to me, not even a hey sorry it took so long, nothing. He didn't even glance my way. I was surprised at that also because he didn't appear to be busy at the time. I paid my $1091 bill including a $400 fee to cut and clean a torque converter with a lifetime warranty. Finally, I was even further disappointed when I went out to start my truck that was supposedly finished about 24 hours ago. My truck was stone dead and would barely roll over. We hooked up jumper cables and drove home. I let my truck sit outside over 24hrs in the Michigan cold winter very similar weather and my truck started fine. According to my odometer they test drove the truck about 5 miles the day before so I would have thought the batteries would have been charged. In conclusion I have to say I am very surprised at my most recent experience with Firepunk Diesel considering my first one was pleasant. Going forward I will look for a different shop for my transmission work.

Firepunk... we have had nothing but problems with their trans. I was pointed their way by an employee of mine (which deeply regrets the referrel) to use them. We have a large fleet of pickups and trucks in the construction industry. I would NEVER suggest this outfit. They have done nothing but weasel their way out of their warranty. We have been on the phone with Firepunk's techs and they even admitted to having faulty parts but they will not warranty their work. TWICE. Less than 1000 miles, with our ASE certified mechanic that we employ. Firepunk's excuse is it's on our end.

Highly recommend anyone that is needing a transmission or work on a diesel. They went above and beyond my expectations.I made the drive from Tennessee to have a transmission installed and I'm very glad that I made the drive. Definitely not any shops in Tennessee as honest and up front about any issues that arise.

I expected quite a bit more from the customer service side of things but it all worked out and as long as the trans is as good as everyone says it is I'm fine with that.

BEWARE IF THIS COMPANY AND THEIR TRANSMISSIONS. My SON bought a Dodge Ram 2500 with 48RE supposedly rated for 800 plus horsepower. It completely blew up inside with only 45k on it and he is only running 550 HP and no racing or pulling. Just driving to work. They would not do anything to help or could care less. It is technically off of warranty. However, the shop that disassembled it said only the gears and pump assembly were upgraded. The bands, races, spacers and the output shaft were all stock. The receipt even says custom Billet output shaft but it was stock. A stock transmission would have done better. Its cost 10,500 total with upgraded tourque converter install etc. Absolute waste of money. The person we talked was mean and angry to my son in talking to him.

These guys have been nothing but help for me. I live in Texas in a area where we have very little support for high hp builds or really any in-depth knowledge on a Cummins. I finally got fed up with the service I was receiving locally and booked an appt with Firepunk to look into some trans problems and dialing in my setup, which contained a lot of parts from them. Drove up from Texas and have not regretted it for 1 second. The environment was nothing but friendly. Truly good people looking to do good for this community. Thanks guys!
