Two competitors overcharged me for the diagnostics . One didn t even rescan for the error code on my BMW once the relay box was replaced. Specter Automotive Family please forgive me ! You all treated me with great care when replacing my headlights you saved me $250 You called me and asked if I could be without my vehicle for an additional day to complete my valve cover gasket the other two repair shops didn t call me I had to call them oh yeah they had my vehicle for one week each . Spencer you thoroughly reviewed my car, let me know what should be replaced without taking two paychecks. I d recommend you to anyone with a foreign car !

This place deserves 5 stars, for sure !! I feel blessed to have a local shop that I can take my car to, and know I'm getting the proper care for my car . Thanks, Dave and staff!!! Definitely Pros !!

Took car in for oil change, later in the day noticed a large puddle of oil on garage floor under the car. Overnight about half a quart drained and I refilled before taking car back. Afterwards they admitted that it was from the oil plug gasket and they normally don't replace these. Took car home and checked oil level to find that it was overfilled, oil beyond the Full indicator on dipstick, took car back and it was resolved.Spoke to owner and was informed oil leak was from oil filter part I had provided, I told him his mechanic explicitly told me it was from the oil plug gasket not being replaced. I don't know which is the truth here...But do not trust them with your car.

Great service and definitely not as expensive as the dealerships. They brought me back and showed me where I had a few leaks, so they're very transparent. Great experience. I'll be back!

Do NOT patronize this shop! Dishonest mechanics! During the winter freeze, an ice sheet slid off my wife's Kia minivan and damaged the wipers so that they pressed against the windshield when turned on. This caused the windshield to crack. I tried to fix the wiper arms before making an appointment with Stakely, fully expecting to pay the diagnostic plus whatever the repairs cost happened to be until they gave me a quote of $1,859!! I was blown away, especially after they told me I needed two new wiper arms, a new assembly, along with a new motor for the wipers which they assured me was hard to find. It was their claim about the motor that made me suspicious, how could a block of ice damage the wiper motor which is secure under the hood - and it was still working perfectly fine? Why do I need a new motor? Needless to say, I paid their over-priced diagnostic fee of $150 and left with my vehicle. And then my wife reminded me of a friend who's husband does body work, suggesting that he could look at the van. We drove to his shop days later, he popped the hood, pulled up a flap where the wipers were connected to the assembly (which I didn't know was there), tightened two screws, and under 3 minutes he fixed my wiper blade problem!! So for 3 minutes of work Stakely wanted to change me almost $2,000??? I will NEVER go here again and I will NEVER refer them to anyone. It's despicable that they would try to take advantage of people this way.Service: Auto maintenance

I have a 1974 Volkswagen camper van. I had been having issues with it stalling frequently and planned on bringing it in but then the ignition lock cylinder froze and I was unable to get the key in the ignition resulting in me having to get the vehicle, flatbed it to Spencer. Dave the mechanic there was not only able to replace the ignition lock, but did extensive work on the electrical system and also identified a problem with the steering mechanism. You can t just bring a vehicle of this caliber to any mechanic in the job that they did was exemplary, and my bus has never run better.Service: Auto engine tuning

This a nice small, local, family owned business. I have them work on my BMW Z4 and I've always been satisfied with my experience. Its nice to have a local company that works on European cars versus taking it to a dealership where they charge you through the roof. On a few occasions I've brought my car to have them look at a minor issue and they didn't charge me anything. It was also convenient that I didn't have to make an appointment. Overall I recommend them and I don't think you will be disappointed.

Over the years I've taken several vehicles to Stakely for maintenance and repair services. On several occasions when urgent fixes (battery, malfunctioning electric locks) were needed they were able to squeeze me into the days busy schedule and complete the repairs faster and at a much lower cost than what the dealers were quoting. I have recommended and will continue to recommend Stakely!Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Battery, Oil change

I've never found a repair shop that actually tries to repair or replace the parts... going with the cheaper repairs first! Jacob and Andy were the best! Just with the pricing alone... my Audi repair shop said that they would charge me way more than Stakely... stick with them! I did... I can't be any happier with the work they did... time frame for the repairs... keeping me updated on new issues that came up. Glad I was referred to them!

Andy is absolutely wonderful to work with, and is extremely knowledgeable. Our family has gone to him for many years, and he is always honest and trustworthy. Our first time going to him, he saved us so much $$$ because NTB had lied to us and said that multiple things needed replaced. Andy looked the car over and said only 1 small part needed replaced. We have recommended him to many family and friends!

Andy and Sandy are two of the kindest and most honest people I know in business. Its priceless to know you can count on a mechanic who will tell you the truth without lying and cheating you out of your money. I Andy accessed my car problem and fixed my car issue in less than 5 minutes. I give Stakely Automotive 5 for excellent car repair service!

Took vehicle here for rough idling. Rather than check the cheapest option, they took advantage of me and recommended a fuel pump replacement. When I picked up the vehicle it had further damage to the interior where they had sat to test drive the car, and the idling issue was still there. I was then told to just take the vehicle to a dealership since Stakely did not know what else to do. When attempting to contact Stakely for a refund via phone, I was ignored. I filed a complaint with the BBB, and Stakely ignored them too. Let's see if they ignore the Ohio Attorney General's office...Service: General repairs & maintenance

i find myself in the same boat as Rhonda and Aaron before me ---- frustrated and ripped-off. Short version is that my Audi A4 was taken in over a month ago. I had two issues at the same time --- one was that I lost all windshield washer fluid and the second issue was that my check engine light was on. They replaced the washer reservoir and changed out spark plugs. Got the car home and not even an hour later the washer fluid was all over the garage and the engine light was back on. Took the car back and they said the washer problem was just a clamp and then they said they needed to scope and clean the carbon off of the valves. Got the car home again and next day light comes back on --- this time it's the fuel injectors. One more fix and get the car home and the following day the light is back on. So ---- here i sit after a month having a thousand dollars stolen from me and having no access to the car and have neither of the two problems fixed (they never even bothered to fix the washer clamp issue). For every fix which obviously wasn't needed, they never stood behind their previous faulty work and there were additional charges every time the car was taken back in to fix the initial issues. So ---I'm back to square one and off to find another repair shop. If you are into being taken advantage of; being horribly mistreated and totally ripped off ---- Stakely Automotive is the place for you ! Stay far far far away if you are not.

They had my car for over a month and eventually told me they could not repair it but still charged me for all the labor. I took my car to a VW dealer who told me that the mechanics at Stakely left parts off and used generic non VW parts to make band aide repairs that cost me more in the long run due to chronic engine damage. I contacted Stakely to request a refund and never received any response.Services: Carburetor cleaning, Exhaust, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

My Wife and I have 3 business work trucks and 3 automobiles between us, we have used Stakely exclusively for the last 7 years on all vehicles, they have always been more than fair on any repair cost or standard maintenance on any of our trucks have needed. Honesty and Integrity count, I highly recommend them, one of our first experiences 7 years ago was they were nearly $ 700.00 less than a competitor on the same repair and we have been with them ever since

Andy Stakely is a mechanic who creates problems that aren t there and tries to upsell you on products that aren t needed. I was charged $1100 over the course of a month, $500 of which wasn t even the correct fix. He never even looked at the actual issue for 4 weeks, just trying to sell me new parts instead of fixing the actual issue. After all this, I still left the shop with more issues than I came in with. He offered to then fix those issues with new parts and more money. I m just going to list the events that happened to shorten the review. Volkswagen Golf having issues where the Turbo was only boosting 5 psi, rather than the usual 20psi. Also, Cruise control never worked. Wanted both fixed. Brought to Andy, advised him of the problems, he kept my car for two weeks, said it was crank case breather system and charged me $503 for the Turbo. Charged me $350 for the cruise control fix. I paid the $850+tax and drove home. Made it 2 blocks before realizing the Turbo still only boosted 5psi. Returned to the shop. Andy said he would look into it further. After two more weeks, he called and said he just decided the turbo was bad. I asked if he had removed the Turbo and tested it, he said he hadn t. He then offered to sell me a K04 turbo instead of fixing it. I asked if he had even looked at my turbo, since I already had the K04 in my car. He then apologized and said he would look into it further. Another week passed. He said the N75 valve was bad and he would replace it for $280. I argued he had charged me $500 for something that wasn t even the issue. He offered me $165. He replaced the valve. When I go to pick the car up, it s still sitting in pieces inside the shop. I have to put it back together in order to leave. I pick the car up, drive home and the Turbo still boosted 5psi. I decide to have a friend look at it and help me. We discover that Andy installed the valve backwards, after rotating it, the Turbo works fine. On that drive home, I realize that the car is overheating and the windshield wipers don t work. He had not replaced fuses when he worked on the turbo. I call about the overheating, he says the fan system had gone bad and he ll fix it for $280. No thank you.Do not go to Andy Stakely for anything. Whatever your issue is, by the time you leave, it ll be bigger and costlier. He does not intend to fix the issues at hand, he just wants to sell you new parts and charge to install them.

Biggest waste of time in my life. They don t care about you, they don t care about your car, or your time all they care about is your money. Staff was very unhelpful and the whole time acted like they didn t care because it wasn t their car. They kept my car for 9 days after the whole reason I brought my car in was bc they said they were going to look at it that morning. I called the shop 6 times never got an answer or a call back and I had to find a ride to go in the shop and Ask what was going on for them to tell me there was nothing they could do. Biggest waste in my life would give 0 stars if I couldService: General repairs & maintenance

My daughter had a repair done on her Acura and after driving it a while the timing belt came off, 2 bolts missing in it, power steering fluid dry, brake fluid almost dry, she might have a cracked engine block from driving like this.I'm a hair stylist and could have put this car back together blind folded better than these idiots. It's a real good thing she didn't get killed with my grandson in the car. Beyond pissed off. 1300.00 for more problems than she went in with.

I am pleased to recommend Stakely Automotive for all of your auto repairs. Andy and his staff is extremely courteous, knowable, fair and operate with a high level of integrity. For instance, he had performed work on my 2007 Chrysler Pacifica and after a week we noticed that the issue was still present (leaky trans-axle seal still leaking). We brought it to his attention to which he immediately scheduled us to bring it in to get it checked out. He fixed the issue (faulty seal) at no cost, all under warranty. I also had him complete a timing belt, water pump, radiator change as well for 2003 Audi S8 much faster (one day compared to several days in the past) and for hundreds cheaper than the other two service vendors that I usually would deal with (Blagoi's International Car Services and Midwest Auto Group). In short, Andy and his staff are true professionals that operate with you the customer in mind. Bravo...Andy and Sandy Stakely you are truly running a distinctive business.Sincerely,Dr. Greg Hart

I did not have a great experience. Spent money to replace a board in my car and then found they did not even take the old one out if the harnesses and left the new one (I provided board, they programmed) bouncing around the engine. Picture attached! Will not be going back or recommended to my friends.
