Worst place to take your vehicle! Don t do it! Take your money to an establishment that you can trust with your vehicle and gives you peace of mind. The lady that has been working there for 18years is unstable and very unprofessional. If you want her fallowing you out the store to pick a fight, if you want to pay hundreds of dollars for poor customer service, If you want to send your vehicle in to get a minor fix then turns into hundreds of dollars more, If you agree with management talking poorly to/and about their staff when they do all the labor then this is the dump for you. I m sure a young man lost his job today because that woman that has worked there way too long couldn t be nice to the people that pays her bills. Her boss/not owner stood by her side on all of these unacceptable issues Shameful! Go somewhere else!UPDATE!!! Furthermore after paying over 600 dollars to have our vehicle fixed it was not fixed properly! This joke of an establishment is looking to take peoples money not fixing your vehicle! We will settle this in court because these people are incompetent! Save yourself the headache.

We were told our car was fixed after we brought them in for our car hood being broken. They told us it was fixed and when we popped the hood the next day it wouldn t close again. When we took it to them to be fixed in an emergency to get to work, we were told we couldn t be helped until later that afternoon even though clearly they had found a much quicker solution just the day before. I do not recommend, they did not provide the services they said they would.

Took car in to have hood fixed. Was charged for half hour labor. Receipt said adjusted hood latch and it shuts fine now. The next day my neighbor needed his battery jumped. I popped hood, got his battery charged and closed the hood, and to my surprise it would no latch. I live two blocks away, so slowly drove back to shop and told them of problem. I was there at 7:31 and they open at 7:30. Worker at front desk told me they could get to it later in afternoon. I explained that I had to get to work and could not drive it and asked them if they could quickly get it to shut again. I asked why the latch was not replaced and what I was actually charged for and was told to leave my keys and move my car because they have lots of other customers to help before me. I was charged for a job that was not actually done

We have been going to Spring St since the 80's. Honest work, affordable and no hassles or extra charges. Always a guaranteed fix to your problems. Friendly service with a smile. I highly recommend them.

Nightmare experienceWent to fix low battery charge and air-conditioning problems. When picking up the car after having paid the repair, I noticed that a red warning light on the dashboard was glaringly on. Went back to discuss with the manager. He flatly said that the light was on when they first moved the car into the workshop. He hooked up the car with an electronic device and told me there were a bunch of problems, including a malfunctioning electronic thermostat. Largely the car was not safe to drive. They charged me $42 for checking. Fixing the thermostat would be a $500 plus job.Took the car home. Fining out the battery was still not charging properly a few days later. Went back to ask them to re-fix the problem they should have fixed before. The manager was not there but they could charge the battery overnight. When I picked up the car, they handed me another bill for charging the battery. They were pretty mad after I refused to pay.Got into the car, the red warning light was off. Apparently, the red warning light was triggered during the repair most likely when the battery became critically low.Went back again to ask them to fix the battery charge problem. They rudely refused. They told me that the battery charge problem was due to the other problems I had and they recommended to go to see a dealer. I let them know there were no other problems. The red warning light was due to low battery charge. The other problems were their misdiagnosis.Days later, the air-conditioner stopped working as well. All in all, I spent about $400 to have loads of headaches and none of the problems fixed.

Took my truck to their shop to get a thermostat changed. Seem like they did that correct but it seems my rain guard was broken during the process. I understand if a tech accidentally hit it during the job but what I'm really upset about it how the manager Andy didn't tell me about it.I mentioned it to him and he said he was not willing to fix it.Do not recommend this company if Andy is the one running it.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Don t trust Troy or George. They say they will charge you their costs and they ordered parts from Volkswagen. After they parts were ordered my bill was almost 340 just for the parts. I looked online myself to order the parts directly from VW and cost was 234 for pan and 58 for gasket. They tried to tell me dealer price was 355 for the pan and 84 for gasket so they were giving me a deal and their prices were o266.45 for pan and gasket being 64.96. Please tell me where they saved me any money?! All they did was tell me dealer prices were more than they were and then the deal they gave me was more if I ordered them myself.

Bad. Maybe get your oil changed but don't bring a luxury automobile there for anything. They will charge you and give you back a vehicle in worse shape than you dropped it off. Or I was just really unlucky 3 times in a row. IDK...maybe.Service: BrakesService: Brakes

I was a little late to post, but this shop is GREAT! They worked on my 75 Lincoln and shot me straight the whole time. I would recommend anyone to this shop. Great mechanics and very trustworthy. I will be doing business with them again.

Oxford is a pretty neat place, lots of terrific and honest mechanics to choose from.....Spring St. is not one of them. I scheduled a simple trailer hitch install on a minivan. E-trailer, who I bought the hitch from, estimated the install would take around an hour and required no drilling. I'll leave out the infuriating details, but I got my minivan back 9 hours later and paid 266 dollars. They put on the hitch and tossed my underbody and rear heat shield inside the van. Ive never paid a mechanic only to be left with parts of the vehicle not reattached.....crazy. There are plenty of great mechanics in the area, University Motors has always been great for me.... The last time I had a hitch installed, it took an hour and cost $125. The mechanic at Spring Street claimed it was a very big, complicated job....that's when I knew this guy was either terrible, dishonest, or both. To be fair, the receptionist was very nice.

Called in for a simple price quote. Old guy who answered was very rude and clearly not interested in giving me a quote. Just your typical rude mechanic, find somewhere else. Said he'd have to "have a whole lot more information and make some phone calls" when every other place just needs year/make/model and can give me a number in less than 2 mins. Won't bother even calling this place next time, that guy needs an attitude check!

First off, the mechanic is completely rude. Tells you he will call by a certain time and when he doesn't, and you call back, he gets even more rude. He should come to realize that most people depend on their vehicles for work, school and just day to day life.Anyways.......Had to have my wife's car towed there recently because some of the dash lights came on and it was running very sluggish. Once the car was dropped off and he looked at it, he called to say he was thinking we needed a new battery which we agreed to. We spoke again the next day and he said that was not the problem and we needed a coolant sensor, which we agreed to again. Called back the next day and he said we needed new ABS sensors but the chasse was too rusted and we needed a new one which he would have to order and quoted an outrageous price. By this time (almost a week and a half after dropping the car off) we were very aggravated and told him we would just pick up the car. The mechanic ( I use that term loosely) got one of his attitudes and said we might want to think about buying a new car. We picked up and drove the car home and it was literally no better that the day we dropped it off. This place had the nerve to charge us $600.00 for a new battery and a coolant sensor with the car being in no better operations from when we first dropped it off. The next day we had it towed to a Ford dealership, got it back two days later, WITH a new chasse and ABS sensors for a very fair price compared to the $600.00 we paid this guy for a battery and a $50.00 sensor.

Wonderful customer service. I sent in a quote request and got a response in less than 12 hours. I called ahead and there was no wait, so I brought my car in and the service was done in about an hour. Very easy process and was helped by a very nice service team. Thank you!Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Oil changeServices: Air & cabin filter replacement, Oil change

Happy to have found a trustworthy mechanic that works with me to find quality products within my budget. I took my car somewhere else in town and they said I needed to spend $1200 immediately or I was going to have to park my car. Took it here, they looked at it for 5 minutes and fixed the problem no charge.I then got my tires from here: they were nice enough to get me 4 quotes on different tires and explain the difference in the 4. We ended up going with a good midlevel tire, they didn't push me toward the most expensive. They're also will to take you to work after you drop your car off, which is really appreciated!I go there for everything now.

Needed a battery for our grandson s car who is a Miami student. Dropped the car off at noon and it was done at 2:30 complete with oil change. All done at a fair price and with no appointment. I would highly recommend . No price gouging just because it s a college town. 5 stars

I was happy with the service on my daughter's car. The main mechanic has a strong personality, but don't let that put you off. He was knowledgeable and timely. He charged a reasonable price for his services. I feel confident in his work. If you want your college kid to have a nearby mechanic, I would recommend Spring Street Auto Service.

Do waste your time or money here. Inaccurate diagnosis even a rookie mechanic would know better. They will tell you bring in and leave your car with asap, then take their time on the diagnosis, which wasn t even accurate. They do not communicate (didn t call me with any status updates) and when I called, the lady who answers their phones was extremely rude!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Wonderful experience here!! They worked with me to replace the starter in my volvo. Great communication and prices, staff was super friendly and explained everything that I needed to know about what was wrong with my car. I would definitely recommend for both the college students and the locals!

Andy and Gretchen were very nice and helpful. My car broke down and it was a very inconvenient experience as I was not close to home. My repair was done quickly and despite the fact that it was an expensive repair, the courteous service and interaction softened the blow a little.

Andy was great to work with! He took my car in with no appointment and had it finished within a few days. The prices are fair and Andy keeps you updated on anything that happens.

Had a problem where my car wouldn t start, so I had it to towed to SSA. They got it back to me to two days. Also I had called before to get a price check on how much it would cost and it ended up coming in under what he said. Andy is the bomb, if you ever have trouble come here.

I ve been taking all our vehicles to Spring Street Auto for decades. Andy and his team always treat me right. He gives me options on repair and lets me choose. He never pushes me to the more expensive option, and just told me to go with the far cheaper option on my last visit! I also like that Spring Street is locally owned and operated.

Brought in for squeaking noiseFixed something else that he claimed was squeaking (there was nothing else causing a squeaking noise). Once picked up car still has the same squeaking noise but now i m down 155 for some $20 brake hardware that had no correlation with the squeaking noise that prompted me to bring the car in. Very shady head mechanic.

Brought my car in with 99% certainty of what the issue is and asked them to check that but instead they decided that my battery was bad (my year old battery with less than 20k miles on it) and charged me almost $200 for the replacement. Unsurprisingly my car still isn't working and now I don't have a way home for Thanksgiving. Great place to go if you want to be taken advantage of!

My car started having engine problems on a Sunday, the day before I was supposed to drive home. Thankfully, they were able to tell me what was wrong and fix it that same day in only a couple of hours! I can't thank them enough for being so nice and quick! They are also reasonably priced which is great on a college student's budget. I will definitely go back there if I have any more car trouble while in Oxford (but hopefully I won't have to).

I have been taking our vehicles to Spring Street for the past 6 years. They have always been professional and helpful. Andy takes the time to explain the problem and what they are doing to fix it. I have had multiple vehicles serviced and repaired at Spring Street and it s always been a positive experience.

*SEEING A LOT OF EXPERIENCES LIKE MINE * Whoever worked at the front desk had a real attitude problem when I walked in the door. A real "Karen" type. I refused the service because i don't want someone that rude to be working on my car. She told me she was in fact "being rude" and i needed to leave. This was my only interaction with someone like this in basically my whole life. Just astounding. Do not recommend.
