If you're in the GTR world, chances you've heard of John Shepard or at least Shep transmissions. His builds are second to none and for their performance and for what you get, unmatched in price. Turn around times are very reasonable, and they'll never try and "sell you" on parts that aren't necessary to meet your goal. He did this with me. I asked about a billet crank, and he said for my goals, it was 100% unnecessary. Just like that, I saved several thousand dollars because he was honest and shared his valuable knowledge.Buy with confidence and buy from the best!Thanks John

Had a transmission built by them 1-4 ppg with stock 5th gear for 14k. 2500-3000 miles later, fifth gear let loose, split the case to realize it was never tighten properly. customer service said to call Nissan. I think it s time to get lawyers involved. Don t waste your money through them! especially since they don t stick by their work.Service: Transmission

Great Customer service, and super fast shipping, last week my R35 lost all even gears and after contacting John, he helped me troubleshoot the issue and the parts i needed to get the job done, i decided to do the work myself and even then he took the time to give me a few pointers, i had all my parts delivered to my door the very next day and was able to get back on the road, i will definitely be using him in the futureService: Transmission

All around great place, they serviced my transmission, front diff, and transfer case. Even after the dealership that had my car failed to put in the recommended fluids Trevor was able to get my evo in to change the fluids to the proper redline. During my appointment at sheptrans they notice i needed axle clamps and kept my car a couple days extra to finish the job. Trevor did a great job on making me feel like my car was fixed and answered all my questions. Also Oliver in the Parts dept help made the visits there really fun.

Takes your money. Doesn t care if their work isn t right.I had heard great things about Shep. But it seems since they have begun doing GTR work they don t care about Evos any more. Oh sure they ll take your money and build your trans. But if there is a problem. We won t get involved .My trans shifted perfectly except for the 5th gear grind so I called Shep up for a rebuild. I accepted their upsell of the JDM 5th and Billet output shaft to the tune of nearly $2,000. They said my trans was in the best shape they had seen aside from the 5th gear synchro But The instant I put the trans in and fired the car up I had problems. They of course blamed clutch drag. So I pulled the trans 3 times and triple checked everything. Even replaced everything twice. New Mitsubishi master, slave, forks, even put a new stock clutch in. You name it.Everything points to something being wrong internally with the trans. It shifts oddly and gears grind with the clutch to the floor. I even said I was willing to drive to Shep and Pay them to pull the trans because surely they are the experts and would know how to help. But no. They don t want to get involved So now I have $2,000 down the drain because a company doesn t care about its customer.If you want to spend big money on your trans build for your GTR or Evo I strongly recommend you take a second thought and ask yourself if it s worth the hassle if something doesn t go right with Shep s craftsmanship. I d look elsewhere with someone who has a little more heart for their customers.

Great customer service and fast turn around time. They stayed late so I could pick up my trans after they closed and had it rebuilt and upgraded in a week. Would highly recommend!
