I ve been going to browns Transmission for a few years, 4 vehicles. Only reason I ve chose them threw out the years was My grandfather worked there years ago and has always talked good about them. But over my years of personal experience I have been severely disappointed. On my most recent vehicle the most. I bought a used 09 Tacoma and brought it to Browns to have a full inspection done on the truck. At the end of the inspection they told me that I did have some slight frame rust on my passenger side but other than that my vehicle was in good shape. You got a good deal on the truck things of that nature. I felt good about the experience. But yesterday I was installing a light bar and I got underneath and the entire driver side part of the frame is completely rusted. Not 60 days rusted (Abt how long it s been since the inspection) years rusted. Not missable rusted. When I called to talk about it I was told Sorry, I don t know why they woulda said slight rust if it s that bad. Doesn t help me any. Knowing what I know know and what they should ve showed me/brought to my attention I could have backed out of the purchase and most likely would have. Or atleast could have got a good bit of $ off of the purchase. Extremely disappointed and upset not sure what to do next about the situation.

I was having problems with the automatic transmission on my 2008 Ford Ranger. The column shifter was becoming difficult to move and putting it securely in drive was getting difficult. The repairs were done promptly and the not only does the column shift work like new but the transmission seems to shift smoother.

Awesome service by the team at Brown's! It's taken me a while to get around to writing this review, but a month later the level of service I received still resonates with me, so here I am.I had my car scheduled for a transmission flush and wheel alignment on Black Friday. I called the day before Thanksgiving asking if I could drop my car off and leave it over the holiday so I wouldn't have to mess with dropping it off the Friday morning after Thanksgiving. They said that wouldn't be an issue at all.So I dropped my car off Wednesday around noon, expecting not to hear anything back until the following week, with it being Thanksgiving and also due to how busy they were (they were scheduling about 10 days out when I first setup my appointment). However, much to my surprise, they ended up calling me back that same day (Wednesday), just a few hours after I dropped it off, letting me know my car was ready. Not only that, but they also informed me my car didn't need an alignment (just got new tires so I wanted to be safe). Honestly, they could've probably told me they did an alignment and charged me and I would've never known any different.The folks at Brown's are really a genuine, honest group, and you can really get a sense of that just by talking to them. I even got a text from one of the owners a few days later checking in and making sure I was satisfied with my service...talk about going above and beyond!I also had a transmission rebuilt by them a few years back and had the same great experience back then.I'll definitely be back and have already recommended them a few times. After this most recent experience, no doubt they've earned a lifelong customer in me!Services: Transmission, Tires

Fantastic for a working stiff. I dropped off, then picked up. Great price to align with a professional atmosphere. A re alignment from a cheaper place that adjusts by eye. This is the place to get it done...RIGHT!

Brown s Transmission & Auto Repair is a great group of people. They do great work, and get it done in a timely manner. They always make sure to give me a call before any work is done in order to get my permission, as well as check in with me to see if I need any work done. Their prices are much more affordable than a dealership, and their customer service is top notch! I highly recommend coming here if you want quality service. I will definitely be coming back!

I had a fantastic experience with Browns! Had an issue with my daughters car and was able to get it in right away with same day repair and a great price! As the saying goes when it rains it pours...my wife's car had an issue the following day from picking up my daughter's car and once again they where able to take care of it right away. They where able to take care of both my girls and make there's vehicles safe that is very important to me! I highly recommend Browns!!

I took car in for font end vibration and alignment. Also the possibilty of front brakes. Was able to get front brakes replaced and alignment.The customer service is great. Couldn't ask for more.HOWEVER, I still have a vibration in front end at high speeds.I also took my pickup in last summer with great results.Would definitely recommend Browns.I will have more done there in the future.

We never like to deal with car repairs. I guess I have to say I ve been fortunate that although the car repairs I ve had to deal with of recent have all come at once, my cars have been good to me and still worth fixing. That being said, I have to give Brown s transmission some serious accolades. I have over 20 years of experience managing people, projects, processes and the like. And I ran my ship with integrity and credibility, therefore I judge any place I do business with with those things in mind. It s unfortunate, but most companies will talk quality, fairness, and integrity, but when it comes right down to it, few walk the walk on a consistent basis. These guys definitely walk the walk. I m not saying it s cheap. When it comes to quality, you get what you pay for. But it is definitely fair and nowhere near overpriced. I am fairly knowledgeable about car issues but there have been a couple issues that I have known nothing about the issues I was having, but because of the things Brown s fixed/repaired that I did know something about, I knew they weren t trying to gouge me in any way, shape, or form. It has gotten to the point where if I need something done, 90% of the time I don t even consider anybody else. They get the call the first time. I love it when a local business takes care of their customers, and does it in a manner that exhibits integrity. I have taken my two main vehicles to them for a combined four times to them over the last 8 to 12 months. Each and every time, I get a follow up text asking how things are going with my vehicle. That exhibits a confidence in their work. It also exhibits a desire for them to want to know if things aren t satisfactory. I have worked, and eventually quit, for companies that don t do customer follow up because they fear what they might find out later. If you do things right, you shouldn t fear that. It is evident that Brown s doesn t fear that at all. We need more companies like this. It separates the contenders from the pretenders. This review might sound over the top, but will I tell you I don t know any of these guys personally I only know them from the experience I have had. I am just big on real quality customer service and follow through. So I felt the need to give them a shout out. If my skill set was in the automotive repair business, this is the kind of company I would love to work for. Nice job fellas. Keep up the great work!

Brown's is the best shop around. Honest quality work done at fair prices. They stand behind there work, and take great care of their customers. We have been going to Brown's for probably 20 years, and I have never had a bad experience. I always recommend them to anyone looking for a mechanic.

Browns Transmission has been our go to mechanic for most all our vehicle needs that I can t do myself. They are very professional, reasonable, honest, and very reliable. They have always been good to me thru out the years. Like that I can trust them to do a quick quality repair. Never been misled by them in any way like your dealer and fly by night shops. Highly recommended.

These guys were great. I got new transmission lines on my car and it was extremely affordable. Came in $200 less than what I was expecting. And they take the time to check out your car as well for any other options for it back 5 days early as well. Definitely be bringing my business here again.

I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance for a diagnosis, a estimate and a return appointment for the repair. When I arrived, they asked for my keys and my phone number so they could call me when they were finished, I said, what was point for a 9am appointment? They said they were busy and they would get to it when they could, maybe tomorrow or the next day. My truck is my bread and butter, I can't afford to leave my truck until you get around to it...i asked "WHY DID YOU REQUIRE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED?" I asked for keys back. I was treated like they could careless about my business .I've used this company many times in the past, recommended them many times to friends relatives and business associates, but not anymore.

My son had his car away from home at college, and we took it to Brown s Transmission & Full Service Auto Repair in Newark because the check engine light was on. (We had just come from an awful, dishonest experience at K-CEPs Auto Repair in Granville). Brown s was recommended to us by some locals in Granville, and with good reason. The guys at Brown s are great mechanics, very honest and thorough, got the repairs done slightly earlier than promised, and slightly under the price they quoted, which we felt was reasonable. We were having some issues with our 2005 Ram truck. Even the dealership couldn't help us. So we finally took it to Brown's Transmission and what a relief. They fixed our truck when no one else could. They are great to work with. We would highly recommend them for any automotive needs!!!

Browns transmission is the best auto shop I have ever been to! I received my grandfathers old car and Browns is where he always took it for an needs and I have decided to do the same. My car is almost 20 years old and runs great because of the work they have done. Always above and beyond.

Started hearing humming from rear of car. Thought problem might be new tires. Took car to tire dealer, they examined car and said I needed new Lexus differential, a $3000 plus fix. Took car to Browns, they examined it and said needed a new Lexus wheel bearing assembly, a $700 fix. Thank goodness Browns has REAL mechanics not just part swappers! The next day they followed up to make sure all was well and the next day drove 700 miles with no problem. Thanks Guys!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Brown's Transmission has always provided excellent service. I got tired of paying mechanics to do "guesswork" on my car, not fixing the problem while I spent $$$. Brown's has always found and fixed the problem first time and every time. I also have all my oil changes done there as well. Brown's thoroughly inspects my car and alerts me to problems or potential problems before I am left with a major inconvenience. The people at the ten minute oil change are not certified mechanics. The car you drive is a major investment. Take care of that investment. Go to Brown's.

They have great customer service and are able to fit me into their schedule most of the time. Their mechanics are knowledgeable and willing to show you what is wrong and explain what the repair will require. I am happy to be a repeat customer.

the best auto shop around...they are always busy so it may take awhile to get an appointment. they fixed my VW when other shops failed. Mr Brown also fixed my radiator when another shop told me i needed a new radiator...but he found a leaking tube instead. saved me hundreds. where do you find an honest shop that does the work right these days/// this one does.

Was referred to Brown's by a long time friend and he was dead on, they have done big jobs and oil changes for me and the experience is always positive. They tell you what's wrong and they fix it, you dont have to worry about add ons or fixes you dont need. The best thing I can say about Brown's is I trust them.Steve Hawley

If you want it done right, go to Brown's. There is a reason they've been around so long and they have such good reviews. They're honest, prices are fair for the quality, and they do it right the first time. Highly recommend.
