After taking my car, for YEARS, to Midas , I noticed they started ripping me off. Telling me they changed my oil when my oil light was still on and I had no sticker in my window to verify (in Toledo). I came to the Midas in Findlay and they covered up Toledo's lie saying "oh yeah they changed it, they just forgot to turn off the livht and put a sticker on your window. We topped you off though." About a week later my light came back on so I looked up places around here and found Fornes. I took my car in and they told me "Oh yeah you have hardly any oil in here. They lied!" Not only did Fornes fix it for me but they charged me half the price Midas does for new oil!! I was so excited. I keep going back to Fornes now and they are much friendlier and prices are much better. They have a new customer in me.

I had came in for a basic alignment and and never received a call when it was done but I had to drop off my vehicle so I could get to work.. I got my vehicle and my steering wheel is not straight and when I let go of the steering wheel it still goes to the right immediately.. I'm not very happy and I hope that they can realign my car in front of me because I will wait this time.... Needless to say after this problem gets fixed, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Love this place! An HONEST and REASONABLE auto shop! Yes this place proves they do exist! Been taking my F-150 here for oil changes and maintenance for the past 2 years. They ve saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars from not taking it to the Ford dealership. Any time my truck has had a problem they fixed it NEXT day for reasonable cost. Couldn t recommend them more! Honest, reasonable, fast, and knowledgeable!

Tim is great! fast and accurate assessment with a fair charge. I brought my Buick SUV in one day with brake leaking issue, next day he called and told me the cars is ready. Other shops in town I called told me to wait at least a week later.

They had done great work on my 06 Ford Five Hundred, another shop had literally destroyed my engine wasnt sure if could even be repaired or totalled. But Matt said I can do that work for you, he was a great guy nice, respectful, honest and did his job very well.. I couldn't be any happier with my decision on going there and having my work done with Fornes Shop. They have been in business sense 1929 I believe and they know their stuff their. Matt you have done wonders and AMAZING job working on my car that another shop totalled I couldn't be any happier and grateful for your guys services there alond side with Greg and all the other crew that works there you have a very happy grateful customer.

I have used them a few times and they are not cheap. I do not mind paying for quality. But the last two times taking my vehicle there they did the job half way.First time they did not turn the rear brake disks and upon getting the car back the wobble was evident. They would not address it saying ti would cost me. It was tolerable.They also replaced the catalytic converter but not the O2 sensor which had to have done 3 weeks later. I took it elsewhere where they did it for a fraction of the cost.Now my brakes supposedly under warranty they are telling me to take the pads to advance auto parts for the warranty. I will avoid using them ever again.

Everyone has always been professional, kind and very knowledgeable. They are always patient with any questions and explain things so you can understand. It's also worth noting that none of the techs make you feel stupid for not knowing everything about how a vehicle works. Fantastic Service!! I had my truck scheduled for service; it was completed in less than an hour. There was no waiting all day for the truck to be repaired. There was no being taken advantage of; the charge was reasonable for mechanical repairs. This business rates high in friendly customer service; Tim gave me a referral for a replacement bumper. If you are looking for professional, quality automobile repairs and NOT get cheated, deal with the well-established business of Fornes Auto Repair Service. You will not be disappointed!!

Took my car there because of a coolant leak. They said it was the water pump and two plastic fittings. I asked for the thermostat to be replaced and a radiator flush. They did not replace the thermostat (said the pressure was good), they said they flushed it (I don t know how to verify) and said they put in 2 gal (I questioned if that was enough and they said yes). I got it back and can t drive the car across town and back on a 75deg day without it almost over heating. I looked and my manual says it s 2.5 gal for my car. Bought more antifreeze and had to fill it up (radiator and overflow). Taking it somewhere else for the thermostat work and I still smell antifreeze after I drive it so I m not sure what leaks (if any) they fixed.

Very friendly, professional and experienced guys. They're a very old family owned business. You can trust them 100% with your vehicles and you'll never get ripped off. Many times they've completed the job under quoted timeline and I've seen them inspecting the cars for free for University of Findlay students. Highly recommended place to get your ride fixed.

Fornes is nothing short of amazing. My Ford F350 truck needed a lot of suspension and associated work. Fornes did an amazing job throughout the entire process. Roger kept me up to date on everything that needed to be done and texted me pictures of issues that were found so I could see exactly what was being done. They sourced parts required to match the lift on my truck and put everything back together perfectly. I am a life long Findlay resident and had always heard great things about Fornes but had never used their services. I am a believer!! They are honest, trustworthy and highly skilled. I highly recommend Fornes for all of your vehicle needs.

Was looking to find a small business for my auto service work instead of a dealer or chain and took my vehicle there for a tire balance and alignment.. I picked it up and noticed right away that all the stones were still in the tires (large stones in large treaded off-road tires) and I called back asking if that makes a difference when balancing and he abruptly said "no". He said and if you aren't happy with it you have to take it somewhere else who has a road force balancer, I said what's the difference and he said a $50,000 dollar machine we don't have. Well I looked it up and was reading about balancing and read many articles that said the stones should be removed prior. I am not talking about tiny pebbles, I pulled out about twenty large stones and of course, it vibrates and shakes worse than when I took it in.. I just decided to not bother calling again and trying to get my money back or work it out, it was only $38 including rotation. I will say the alignment is perfect though so I gave a couple stars.Services: Tires, Wheel alignment

We were on our way home from spending Christmas from Florida. Our truck broke down on I75.Was recommended Fornes auto repairs from the Marathon gas station. Got truck towed at 3:30 pm. Was diagnosed, and they stayed after hours to get us back up and on our way home.I woold HIGHLY recommend, and very friendly and professional. They really cared about us, felt like it was a small town community we are from

Quoted 75-100 to press in a wheel bearing into a knuckle and press a compliance bearing in. A parts were supplied by me and disassembled. It s a 30 minute job even with cleanup. I expected 75$, bill came at 105$ with extra fee for 7.50 on shop materials. I feel like I was overcharged for such a simple job.

had a lot of clunking sounds on the front end our magnum and took it to these guys to have an alignment done. they found loose suspension bolts and tightened them down now our car rides like it's brand new again. I'll be coming back soon to get the other few problems fixed. very thankful for this shop.

Went to these guys usually get good results not this time charged 700 dollars in one week for a problem that was potentially caused by them and then get back up light wire switch cut pretty screwed over if you ask me.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Friday afternoon about 4pm walked in with no appointment and was able to get a new tire when 5 other places refused me service because "they couldn't fit me in". Thank you Fornes!!
