It was the second time in less than eighteen months that I had to go back to get reverse gear fixed it originally was worked with through Conrad's and they sub the workout they did honor their warranty which was great but what happens in the next 18 months from now when my transmission goes out again for the third time . It took several trips to Conrad's to convince them that reverse gear was not working. I'm sure that Ron's does fine work but I just don't understand why a rebuilt transmission would go out in less than two years you certainly think that it would last longer than that

Very friendly and they did a really good job on my suv yeah it took some time but you cant rush transmision work you want youre work done right,strongly recommend them.

Changed my TCM back in August last year I wanted to give it time before I left a review to see if the part/work lasted . They fixed my issue and got my car back up and running within a few weeks. It cost about $1200 dollars for them to install a TCM on a Ford 500 2006. I don't know a whole lot about pricing on car repairs so take that how you will. I'm just happy and surprised they got it fully functional again.Service: Transmission

These guys are awesome! Ron s replaced pretty much the entire powertrain on my truck and did an awesome job. The truck runs better than I ve ever seen it run! Everyone there was so knowledgeable and friendly. They kept me in the loop the entire time they had the truck. These guys are so good, they could probably replace the powertrain on a spaceship if you asked them too. I bet they d get the job done under budget and ahead of schedule too. Don t mess around at the dealership. Call Ron s. They ll take care of you like family.Service: Transmission

Had heard their commercials on the radio. Sadly had a not so great experience here. Called ahead and was scheduled to bring my vehicle in the next week on a Monday. Brought it in promptly just before they opened. Very friendly, they took my keys and I explained what I needed to have looked at. Left and on on Wednesday afternoon I called for any type of update. Was greeted with a voicemail. So figured I d just call the following morning Thursday . Called and was told they had phones issued the other day but they hadn t had a chance to diagnose anything as my vehicle was saying low gas which I didn t realize when I dropped it off. Instead of putting some it or even just calling me to ask they just parked it on their back lot. Seriously!!! I asked them to please get a little then just charge me for it. They said ok. Friday morning came and I needed my vehicle as it had been an entire week. When picking it up they hadn t done anything so there was no charge. They basically got in the vehicle, the low gas warning came up and they moved it to their back lot like 20 feet. It sat for a week with nothing looked at or done. I ll never be back. I expect if I call and make an appointment that it be looked at promptly and professionally even if the wait to drop it off is a couple weeks out. Very sad and I won t be back!

Absolutely the best. I have a 1956 dodge and no one else was even willing to look at it. They fixed it up no problem in a very timely manner and for a fantastic price

My car as of today has been sitting at Ron's Transmissions for 23 days. I just keep hearing different excuses and no definite day for repair. Will update my review once I get my car back unless i take it somewhere elseUpdate: Got my car back after being in shop for 39 days. Hope this never happens to anyone else. Transmission rebuilt and she s running good so far after $3,500.

Complete wastes of time truck spent two day at the shop for a estimate and they fail to do that I felt like they gave me the run around and we're dishonest with me just bad business don't recommend

These guys are amazing. They fixed the transfer case on my Jeep CJ3B. It was a tricky job with a lot of time spent sourcing hard-to-find parts. They also had sleeves custom milled when a replacement part couldn't be found. Everyone was very friendly and very patient. And the price was super reasonable. I'm a fully satisfied customer.

I elected to try Ron's transmission shop after reviewing it on Angie's list and the positive review by a customer. They offer a free diagnostic scan which in itself was inviting. The offered services achieved it intended objective as it drew me to the business (great marketing tactic). I admit I was skeptical at first but when I arrived, I was greeted professionally and the technician seemed knowledgeable in his trade.I explained the problem with my vehicle and the engine light codes which were being displayed. The technician scanned the engine and received the same codes. He test drove the car in the event it was simply a false code issue and was unable to clear the codes. After discussing my repair options, I elected to schedule my vehicle for further diagnostics which seemingly were electrical issues. I asked what the diagnostic services were going to cost and I was told there would be no charge for the diagnostic check and once the problem was determined, I would be contacted first for authorization of any repairs. I was amazed by this practice, and at this point felt a sense of confidence that I was leaving my vehicle in good hands.continued on next post ......

Vehicle serviced was a Ford F350 Super Duty that shifts like new again.There's nobody that likes the need to have transmission service done but everyone here made the experience as pleasant as possible. I wouldn't hesitate to go back if needed again.

I recently took my Toyota Corolla to Ron s to have my check engine light diagnosed . I failed my e-check a few weeks ago and I only had a few more weeks left on my temporary plate to get the issue resolved. I tried another local mechanic (Who shall remain nameless ) and they charged me $45 to tell me my transmission was bad and I needed $2500 worth of work on my car. Mind you, my car hasn t given me the least bit of trouble and if I had a bad transmission, I think there would be some signs. My gut told me not to give that mechanic another dime of my money, and I went to Ron s. For FREE, Ron s listened to my concerns, checked out my car, confirmed that there were NO ISSUES with my car AND got the check engine light to go off. I went through e-check and passed without a problem. Thank God there are still honest mechanics around. Thank you, Ron s! Trans leaking, discovered a loose drain plug and did a thorough examination to see if any other problems were evident. Found none. Did not charge me, Nice to do business with an honest group. Highly recommend them.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

Ron's Transmission has been the only shop I deal with. Great service for not only myself, but for those I've recommended them to. Fair, honest, and dependable with excellent workmanship.

still waiting on my warranty information since the trans work was completed 2-3 weeks ago. The service was fine as explained but it's just following the details now. In the commercial world/not personal vehicle we need the information asap for records. Have more trans work to be done but not sure until this step is completed.

Used Ron's Transmission a few times, I feel that they are honest and fair. I guess that's all you can ask from a transmission shop.

Professionalism and transparency!Went in for what I thought was going to be a lengthy and costly repair. Later found out it was the complete opposite! I could of been heavly upcharged for unnecessary labor and parts but Kev and the techs did the right thing by making the repairs at the lowest cost to me.Hopefully I won't need any transmission work done in the future but if I do, I will be heading back to Ron's Transmission!Services: Transmission, Oil change

I am a shop owner myself located in Florida I could not help my sister but I did contact Kevin at Ron s transmission and we have gotten the best service in the Lorain county area hands down. If you need transmission service they definitely will get you going. The main thing I like was that they did not call saying she needed a complete reabuild on my sisters car. Inly needs some tubes with 50k miles we expected it to be a transmission. That s why you take it to a transmission doctor that is honest and looking to keep you as a customer for life not to take you for all you have the first time. Godbless this group of experts they have my business aswell as all my friends that ask me up north who to go to for work time that. Kevin your great thanks aswell

So basically my car has ben going through limp mode and instead of telling me my transmission needed rebuild the owner did all this work to it for $800 and then told me my transmission needs rebuilt. Robbed me of $800. I d stay away from here. Bad. 1 Star. Also the girl as front counter, very rude.

Had a worse case scenario. 4wd Silverado trans goes out 5 hours from home . Rons send a tow truck to pic it up. I rent a Car to finish my Vacation and 4 days later my Chevy is all fixed up. Very Professional staff there

Worked on my 07 Mercury Mountaineer. Was having issues with shifting etc. The staff was great with keeping me informed of what was going on and what the costs would be. Highly recommended.
