I was hit and had my car towed to Carl's Body Shop. Matt and his staff were excellent to work with! They were so pleasant and let me know what was going on with my car throughout the entire process, including taking the car to the dealer and having it picked up to get the computer part fixed/ reset. I also had it detailed on the inside so it was like a new car when I got it back. If you find yourself needing work done to your car after an accident or just need a detail go here!

Had a new bumper put on my Dodge sprinter van. They did a fantastic job! They completely detailed the van on the inside and out. Wow thank you so very much! They went above and beyond I could not be happier. And the detail shop WOW outstanding!!!If you want an outstanding fantastic job done don't ever take your vehicle anywhere other than Carl's body shop.A very very happy customer!!!

I only give two stars for how nice everyone was to me, otherwise it d be lower. My vehicle was there for almost a month. I understand delays on parts, but they almost didn t give me back my vehicle the day anticipated for pick up because they were fixing an issue that I said was separate and did not need addressed. I did receive an apology for that, but then they kept delaying the pick up time that day - even knowing that my mom had to drive the vehicle six hours to me that day. They left broken glass in the back of the vehicle, AND they did not replace the battery as I expressed would most likely be an issue that needed addressed so I almost immediately had to take the vehicle into another shop to get that fixed. With how the insurance side played out, I had to pay hundreds to get this fixed (due to my type of vehicle) and am now awaiting insurance reimbursement. I m lucky to have that money because some people would ve been more screwed over than me in a situation like this.

So I promised that I would do this, or at least said I intended to.Recently, I had the misfortune of getting hit on the interstate and, long story, but for all intents and purposes, it was totaled. I also received a broken nose in the ordeal.Originally, I had left a scathing, harsh review of Carl's. It was very frustrating. My 76 year old father was driving me around, I had a broken nose, no car... and we were driving from Piqua to downtown Dayton on some wild goose chases initially. It was just imperfect and a general lack of communication. One or two things was my fault. And when I found it that it was going to be $600 to get my car out of their impound lot, and it was cash only, which I obviously didn't have, that's when I wrote my one star review.Well, it got attention. Audra the assistant manager and MJ the shop manager both saw it and did everything to reach out to me. And I mean EVERYTHING. She found me and contacted me on Facebook. He pulled me into a meeting with her when my dad and I came down that day to get my car. They asked if I had an insurance claim number, said they would talk to my insurance company for me to see if the towing bill was covered, and even though it wasn't, MJ and Carl's ultimately accepted my signing my car over to them as even payment to make things right. The owner Matt was out of town when I posted my review but he was very apologetic and understanding as well. Once we had talks, everything was handled first class and with understanding.Leaving reviews like this can be a positive and a negative thing. For me, it was a very negative experience at first and I expressed a LOT of frustration on here. Right, wrong, or in between, it got attention. Ultimately, I do have to credit the management team for wanting to do things right by me. We all have our frustrations at times, especially me with what I went through. But when people are willing to talk and a business is willing to serve the public , they deserve credit and that is when so much can be resolved. So thank you to them for working with me on this. They did a terrific job taking someone who was frustrated and angry and making me very satisified with the outcome.

As a black woman, I m typically used to how people treat me when I walk into a space that doesn t look like me often. I m used to the uncomfortableness in the side eye. But when I walked into Carl s, I didn t feel any of that. I didn t just feel like a customer, I felt like a regular person.They weren t nice to me. They were kind, and I cherish kindness over niceness. Niceness has a motive. Niceness is doing something so you can get something in return. Kindness is loving, considerate and empathetic. Audra, when I walked through the door was kind and compassionate, smiled at me and was ready to help! I needed to figure out about my trunk. The lift gate was broken and draining my battery and it was half open. I just needed to close it because nobody else can get me in until the beginning of January. We all know life likes to hit you as soon as the holidays come up, especially in the climate that we re in right now.I m not gonna lie to you, I was an emotional wreck, distraught. Trying to keep it together. I have more problems than I have money at the moment. She went and got MJ and Mac who are so kind and so welcoming and so helpful. Even got a really good joke.They had me squared away with my trunk closed, just to make it through the holidays in no time.Hell I ll say about 20 tops! They didn t make me feel less than or other . Their smiles were genuine and kind. Just like their actions. Not only did they get my trunk closed, but got me to be able to at least open it and close it. Not a permanent fix at the moment, however this just means I ll be having only them work on my car cause I will be back!They were kinder than they needed to be. They were kinder than necessary, and that is what we need in this world. I cried, and they hugged me. It wasn t like a pad on the back but a hug from your favorite cousin you haven t gotten to see since you were 12.I went to them on a whim from my recommendation after driving around from dealership and auto shops just so I could at least get it closed. They didn t just close my trunk, they open their arms to me and welcome me in. I am humbly grateful for Audra, MJ and Matt.I don t know what would ve happened, waiting a month and a half trunk. Anticipating the coldest winter we ever have with constant worry of - will I have to replace my battery because it s draining the power from it.But because of them, because of Audra, MJ and Matt at Carl body shop the only thing I gotta worry about this winter is how to get the mini fridge out of my car and into my house.Thank you for being soooo kind and sooo compassionate and sooo wonderful. I will be back. I ll have people come see you and they ll be back as well.MJ. Let me know if I needed anything that I could always come back to him. Matt has some funny jokes.And Audra boots were pretty cool to and with her at the front, I know I will always be taken care of.Thank you thank you . Thank you. When given the decision to be kind, choose kindness, be kinder than is needed, be kinder than is necessary. And at Carl s body shop, that is the only option they have abide.

Sit inside for 3 hrs waiting on enterprise car rental. I went to the front and ask if they was always late. With a chuckle the receptionist said yes always. Why did'nt you tell me? Is my time not important .

Went to get a quote. Asked for Matt. He NEVER came and talked to me. He walked around talking about all sorts of other things. Finally after sitting for an hour waiting someone told me they wouldn t touch my truck. But wrote a quote saying repairs would be $3500. Stated they couldn t put on the estimate for insurance that they wouldn t touch my truck. How can you write me a quote for something you won t do? How does that make sense? If you won t touch it, you need to put that for my insurance to see that you won t touch it. Sounds like someone s ego is too big or there is some shady things happening. Wont EVER consider this place for anything.

My friend's side mirror was completely missing, and within an hour Carl's replaced it with a brand new one! The entire process was also priced considerably under any other repair shop in the Dayton area! The staff are not only friendly but also knowledgeable and professional.

Very happy with the work at Carls. We had them replace our front headlight covers after the original ones were oxidized and very cloudy. Our car looks like new!! Repairs completed in one day. We have other body work done at Carl s and have always been very pleased with the service and work.

Great place to get vehicle repaired, not the best at communicating but probably short handed like everyone else. But if you want your vehicle fixed right take it here.

I was a little frustrated at the beginning but in the end, they did their job well. The only thing I want from them is to give an exact delivery date. Take a month if you want but it helps with a guaranteed delivery date. Joe is extremely professional.Before and After Body Shop.

On three different occasions in the last 15 years I have taken my vehicles to Carls Body Shop, not once have I ever been let down .Twice , Carl worked very closely with my insurance adjuster to get my car repaired in a timely manner using the factory parts.Recently I took my Corvette in to have a fender bender repaired . I am nothing but happy

The job they've done looks like nothing happened. Had someone bump into my vehicle hard enough, they replaced what needed and went above and beyond to have the job finished in good detail. They even upgraded my taillights at no extra cost just because it could of been an option and they did, very nice guys and ladies there to get my car in and out without any problems, and the employees are looking happy to work there, think my car was done with a smile to to it off. I was happy with my visit the and will come back to them in the future, hopping not to, they are my plan A.

This is a great place to take your vehicle to be repaired, that is if you want to pay several thousand more dollars than you should be! This is my neighborhood shop I ve used multiple times & all but once received very low quality repairs & 0 customer service. 1 time the manager intervened on an estimate & time frame the estimator give me due to the type of repair needed, (tail lights are important & he helped, thank you Ben!) the usual guy I have dealt has tried to over charge me every time. He once told me when I took a car to get an estimate to paint, he says our paint jobs start at 10k, he continues to say he don t want people seeing the car/truck few years later faded or looking bad & have someone know it was done at carls body shop! We Boston talked me into painting some emblem & hooks on my truck oppose to just installing ones I brought to be installed & the quality control guys points out the bubble in the paint on my hook on my truck & still let s it out the shop & my emblem paint job lasted less than a year!Now this estimate I get on my 2022 Chevy is about 3,800 dollars more than the actual Chevy dealer wants to repair it. Same guy that argued with me over black trail boss custom decals, told me they cost 600.00 each & im the one is purchased them off Amazon for 40.00 as a set & had carls put them on!I wouldn t take my hot wheel to Carl s for repairs!Wish I could add some pics of these 2 estimates & show how greedy this place is!Smedly Chevy estimate is $ 1,968.83Carls estimate $ 5,699.19I.D quote #1110218528595648512/126436892

Upon getting an estimate I was told that replacing the bumper on my car would take 2 days. When I scheduled I was told it would take a week. And y'all ended up having my car for a total of 12 weekdays (14 including the weekend). Since I was doing self-pay I didn't have a rental option and had to borrow my friend's car for most of that time so I could get my kids to school.During the walk around when I picked up the vehicle I expressed disappointment that there was a visible gap between the passenger tail light and the new bumper and Ed told me "there wasn't anything he could do, it was probably how they are making the part now, etc."When I brought the car back in to get the gap fixed (per Joe's advice) it still wasn't entirely fixed and I can see that the bracket that attaches to the car has been bent to try and fix the gap. When I picked up the car the second time, no one did a walk around or even talked to me besides Tara (who was incredibly helpful in the office).Lastly, there was pretty much no communication about the status of my car and it was incredibly difficult to get one whenever I called. I called two straight days and was not able to get an update. I had to go to the shop to even be able to talk to Ed, and when I did that he took me out to my finished vehicle and showed me the work but said the car still needed to be test driven and scanned to check the sensors - which took another 2 days.I won't be coming back to Carl's body shop for any sort of work. I had chosen them because of their proximity to my house and since it seemed like they did good work (via reviews and cars I see coming out all the time - they are really busy). Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with Carl's and the work they did overall. The bumper itself looks good, despite the gap under the tail light.Service: Body & Trim

Carls did excellent work on my Kia after someone trashed it trying to steal it. I also requested repair of rear suspension, new battery, etc at my cost. I am a nurse that lives out of my car so it gets messy. The inside looked brand new, almost as though they detailed the car. My neighbor saw my car when I came home, he took one look and said it looks like I have a new car. I will never use anyone but Carls. They were able to repair my car before any dealership could have completed it due to supply chain shortage and worker shortage. We took our car here to get a bumper replaced. We were originally told it would be done within 2 weeks. After receirunaround for almost 3 months we told them we wanted the car in whatever condition it was in and we would find someone else to fix it. Then they told us the alternator was bad and the car wasn t running the day we were picking the car up. Ended up having it towed out of there only to find out it was running perfectly fine and there was no alternator issue.These people are liars and scammers. Wouldn t recommend this place to my worst enemy.Edit:We were offered a rental after 2 months of us calling weekly for updates and only offered a rental because a family friend happened to know someone within the company.Service: Body & Trim

I was stuck in Dayton with a flat tire. AAA switched out the tire for my spare and told me to visit their facility in Dayton the next morning to get the tire fixed. They wanted to make me wait until the next day or later. I needed to get back home to Cleveland. Another shop couldn't take me either, but he recommended Carl's.First off, Carl's reminds me of one of those cool places on cable that do cool things to cars and trucks. That was the vibe. The people were very friendly and were quick to help. They figured out what I needed and had me in and out of there within 45 minutes. The young ladies that work there were all great to deal with. I even had a cup of coffee and they washed and vacuumed my car!If I'm ever in Dayton and need some type of service for my car, I'll be heading to Carl's.Service: Tires

Our older but well loved car got rear ended rather badly, and while insurance companies said the car was totaled, we didn't accept that answer and took it to Carl's based on their stellar reputation. There we met Ed who said they could restore it! Whew! Now, in a much shorter time period than we expected, we have our car back, and it's beautifully perfect! We can not sing praises for Carl's, Ed, and the entire staff with more enthusiasm...and as my wife said, she's so happy she could cry! Thank you to everyone at Carl's who worked their magic with respect, care, dedication, skill, and talent. I would never recommend this place to anyone!! 3 months ago my friend and I were in a little accident involving a deer, there was damage to the fender and grill of the vehicle, damage that would have and should have taken no more than a week or two has now like I stated been over a 3 month period. Every time they are called and asked about the car she is told it will be another week with none sense excuses or no excuse at all. If you need your car don t count on Carl s because they clearly do not care about their costumers.Service: Body & Trim

I recently needed my SUV detailed. I asked around to friends and coworkers for recommendations. My neighbor recommended Carl's Body Shop. I took my SUV to Carl's for a full detail. Very excited that I had found someone to detail my SUV. Once I saw SUV, that excitement quickly turned into disappointment. The area where the gas cap is was dirty. The area around the doors were dirty. There was a spot on the passenger side floor that I enquired about and the employee responded we only do this with our deluxe packages. Needless to say the carpet on the driver side looked like it had never been touched. I will never go back to Carl's, and I will never recommend anyone else to go there.Unhappy CustomerService: Auto detailing
