was going to go here cuz it is in my neighborhood. called to ask if i could come in on sat, pick something out, and have it installed same day. he asked what i wanted. i said four speakers and a deck, nothing fancy, but i was worried about security system integration. he asked what make. what model. what year. we are getting further from the only question i wanted answered. he begins arguing about whether the truck would have the kind of integration i described. i'm sitting in it looking at the thing he says doesn't exist. and it doesn't matter if it exists. it's just the reason i don't want to diy the install. you know who thought it was more important to answer my question than argue about the capabilities of my old truck's stereo? car stereo max. they answered my question without being condescending little wieners at all.

The staff at California Customs were very helpful as well as professional. I had a pre-existing auto start on my vehicle which required an upgrade. CC did the install and upgrade in a very timely manner as I waited. Great place highly recommend and will return.

Experienced, helpful, and they have fair prices. Couldn't ask for a better experience, and I'm extremely happy with the dual 8" JL subs. I was mistakenly underwhelmed until I saw the gain was set at ~40%... these things really kick!! Big thanks to the crew at California Customs.

Great place for installation and great place to get equipment from. I have a kicker amp that was bought and installed from there and then I have kicker comp c s bought and installed from there. All installed professionally in my Honda Odyssey. I got them installed over a year ago and there has been no issues at all with my subs and I love them to this day! I will definitely keep doing business with them!! I highly recommend!!

I can't say enough good things about California custom sounds and Kyle, they made a bad situation with my 4Runner better and did it lightning quick. I will definitely be referring everyone I know to CCS.

I had new speakers and subwoofer with amp installed. They worked with me to get me something within my budget and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They did a fantastic job and ensured I was satisfied with the install. I had a small issue post install they worked with me after to ensure their work was up to their standards. Highly recommend them for you audio needs.

Stopped in on a Friday just to price a radio for my Chev Colorado, very friendly professional sales staff and they were able to get my truck in and install a new Kenwood stereo plus fix another issue associated with my radio that day. I can't say enough on how great the staff was, radio sounds great and I was back a few day later to purchase a couple rear door speakers which happily were on sale, I put them in that day and they are great sounding! I highly recomend this business!

I have been taking my vehicles to California Custom Sounds for over a decade. Top notch customer service, products, and installation. Even when faced with difficult installs and vehicles, the results have been absolutely amazing every time. My latest install required quite a bit of custom work that must be billed by the hour. Conner was more than happy to explain this process and let me know exactly what to expect. The work was very impressive and the price was more than fair. I have never had a vehicle sound better. Thanks for the years of excellent service!!!

Best retail experience of my lifetime had new speakers installed in my 2017 Accord Kyle was very professional and thorough. Went over all my options for speakers and how much to install got me in within a couple of days. Excellent work my car sounds awesome now. I ll definitely recommend them and be back in the future for a remote start. Thanks guys.

This place is AWESOME! Great customer service and the quality of the install was amazing. Super friendly too. Everyone was great! Kyle in sales helped me find what I needed and Brian in service was able to install everything; totally exceeding my expectations. I would definitely recommend them to a friend!

I want to start out by saying that I've had bad experience with car radios, so I waited their full 30 days before reviewing.However, these guys are the real deal. I brought in my new to me orange 07 Chevy Avalanche and they fitted a touch screen stereo that fit perfectly, speakers to match. They even squeezed me in right then and there bc they had a cancellation. They are knowledgeable, professional, and most of all personable. I'll definitely be going back, should any problems arise, or if I need any services in the future!

Went in looking for something just to tweek my factory system. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Scheduled me that day for the following week. Just picked up my car, VERY happy with everything! System sounds great, everything hidden, bass knob added looks as if it was factory installed. Vehicle even vacuumed after. Highly recommend these guys!

Great service and very happy with the look and additional functionality of the stereo system. Would highly recommend them. The only downside I was not made aware of was the removal of the round power port which gave me additional usb charging and power for rear tvs, but not that huge of an issue. Just be aware of scope of work.** Update. OMG, still good to know scope but just found port right below so either I did not realize its been there all this time or they replaced cover. Either way, over the moon with this upgrade!

Top notch. Great selection, informative - concise explanation of what would be needed for installation. No pressure sale. They followed through and did a great job. You need an expert to switch out a factory radio in a modern car. These guys know what is up. Highly recommended!

Back in '95 we purchased a car that came with a remote fob. It the time I thought it was a waste, but it's amazing how fast you get used to having them. We've had them added to all our cars since. We've always used these guys and never been disappointed. High quality products, knowledgeable people, and unbelievable customer service. Does the dealership put new batteries in the fob when the old battery dies? NO, they don't, but California Custom does!

It's Ohio. In the summers we melt and in the winters we freeze. Just go ahead and do it. Buy yourself the automatic starter. Your future self will thank you. Your kids will stop whining for the first 10 minutes of the ride about how hot/cold they are. Just go ahead and do it.Thank you to the guys at the shop for their friendliness and excellent service. I love my remote start and my new radio!

Worst experience I ve ever had at a car-related place. Quoted me $425 for an install of a unit I bought online, ignored all emails I sent requesting a quote and providing information/instructions for the install itself, then charged me $709 because it took them five hours versus the quoted three (they had my car for a total of 8.5 hours though).Everyone online says they completed the same install in the same vehicle from home with no experience in about three hours or LESS I confirmed this was accurate later when fixing their shoddy work by essentially doing a complete RE-install in about 2.5 hours (all elements were installed in the wrong location: the USB port was dangling from a random spot under the cupholder area instead of inside the center console as directed, and the microphone was not concealed as also directed in the instructions I provided with the unit (for the record it works great when hidden behind the air vent ). I was refused a refund of the difference in what I was quoted versus what I paid even though it was THEIR negligence that caused the job to take longer than expected, and the reason for it being done incorrectly. In reality, I should have requested a FULL refund, but I didn t I reasonably compromised for a partial refund even though 95% of the work was done incorrectly.Essentially, they thought they knew better and winged it versus reading/watching the instructions/video I provided, the work was done incorrectly and in an unreasonable amount of time, and the only solution offered was to take my car again even though I had already fixed the install myself and simply requested a PARTIAL refund of the excess amount past what was quoted. Offering free labor OR issuing a partial refund is essentially an equivalent/reasonable business loss for your own mistakes, no? But yeah you guys went above and beyond lol Terrible customer service, super unprofessional business, and shoddy work overall. HIGHLY regret bringing my car here as it caused a bigger headache than it would have been to just do the install myself instead of paying $709 for it to be done incorrectly.Edit after their very late + defensive response: My credit card company did in fact side with ME and issued a partial credit for the difference between what was quoted/charged. That s all I originally requested for work done INCORRECTLY due to instructions being ignored, so problem solved. You go above and beyond yet don t even reply to customer emails, ignore provided instructions that I was PAYING you to follow, or take simple accountability for incorrect work and issue a partial refund grow up and admit your mistakes lol, bunch of petty man-children

Bought a head unit here the other day. They price matched. Good dudes to deal with and very friendly. Definitely going back!UPDATE: Oct 5th 2020. This place is still awesome if not better than before. I ended spending over 2 times as much as I put my budget at and I'm so glad I did.. I didnt think it could get better but these guys really know what they're doing. When I came to pick my car up they gave me a very in depth tutorial on the system and took they're time do a really great job. They custom tune your system to your liking. Highly recommend! The employees are great people.

I don't live in the area. Walked in to test out speakers before heading home. They showed me some great speakers they were offering free install on did install same day ended up staying late to finish the job. The corrected several issues from another shop. System sounds much better. I couldn't thank them enough. The general manager is a great guy to talk to and is very knowledgeable.

Had them install a subwoofer in my car. Great installation and it sounds amazing! They can work with cars without having to replace the entire audio system, so that was a huge win. Considering a remote start next!

First of all, I would like to apologize to California Customs for not writing this review sooner. I honestly thought I had praised them years ago on here.I've done both the "buy everything from them" & "scour the internet for best prices" route. I have had 4 vehicles worked on here. Nothing extravagant, just basic head unit replacement, back-up camera install, and remote starters. No matter what the request, they are eager to please, professional, polite, and just people that you want to trust. The communication they provide is extremely welcome too. I told them I was never in any rush, take your time and get it done when you can. All that I ask is that you call me far enough in advance to make sure my wife can give me a ride.Oh, and the most recent install they did for me, I bought an amp physically too big for my truck and the location I wanted it installed. They called and explained the situation and gave me options to either do a custom install or a different amp. When I decided on the new amp, they made sure that I only bought one that met my needs; they didn't try to up-sell me or go overboard. And they were able to install it inside the dashboard so that it was completely hidden. Total win-win for me.It really is true what they tell you, you will save money buying everything from them because of the discount in labor they provide. Literally hundreds of dollars in savings. I know I am not going to waste my time searching online for low prices anymore. If they don't have the head unit you want in stock, they will order it.I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place. Their integrity impressed me and the ease at which it is to do business with them amazes me. I can't imagine getting better service elsewhere. If I ever need another install of anything in their repertoire, I am not even going to bother considering anyone else.

I have been buying from these guys a long time and they are always amazing. I love Alpine products and they are the Dayton areas only authorized alpine dealer. Kenny helped me out this time with a new receiver and was very knowledgeable and helpful. Stop buying your Alpine products online and go see these guys, they are COVID safe and friendly. You won t be disappointed.

Had a 2015 Mercedes benz c400. They completely understood the car and the challenges and were able to install two high end subs in the trunk. Very helpful and understanding staff, they could have ripped my head off and charged me a fortune, but they didn t upsale me at all. Thanks guys!!!!!

The team hooked up my 2017 Audi A7 with an active system from focal. Currently deployed but when I get back I m looking to swap my dash tweeters back to my original k2s and re-perform the processing/tuning to also account for an increased level of rear stage volume. I worked with Connor in the past but he hasn t responded to my email from a few weeks ago.
