We spent a week in one of the cabins, and it was so lovely! The cabin was comfortable and homey, staff was attentive and nice, and the location was perfect (definitely rural, but an easy drive from several cute towns). The fireplace and supply of firewood were much appreciated, and we liked that they gave both a savory and a sweet option for breakfast every day. We also booked a massage, wine tour, and dinner through them, and all were great. If you want to disconnect for a while and relax in nature but still have the amenities of a hotel, this place is perfect.Noteworthy details: Fireplace, jacuzzi tub, kitchenette, breakfast

Spent Thanksgiving Day at the White Oak Inn. Lovely place in a remote setting. Hosts were friendly and helpful. The TG dinner was excellent - both food and service. The morning breakfast was also a treat. Wi/Fi very iffy - which actually was a blessing for us. Only downside was not having a place to walk - it's remote so you need to drive if you want other things to do.Rooms: Rooms were comfortable and, plenty of hot water which sometimes seems to be a luxury at B&Bs.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here as a babymoon to celebrate our first baby coming soon! I cannot say enough great things about this lovely place! Innkeepers Ian and Yvonne were lovely and very accommodating. The White Oak room was clean, spacious, and the bed/bedding was extremely comfortable and high-quality. The 2-person jacuzzi tub was incredibly relaxing and we LOVED the cozy wood-burning fireplace! We enjoyed seeing Dougal and Rascal out and about, such friendly pets! And the FOOD we are still raving about. Yvonne s cooking for all 5 of the homemade meals we enjoyed there was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend the romantic dinner basket and the loaf & ladle meal. We were definitely never hungry and felt we had the highest quality food and service!! We are so grateful for this peaceful getaway and are recommending it to our friends and family!

We loved everything about this place. We stayed in the Pine Cone cabin where we enjoyed sitting on our own private deck and watched the deer just feet away from us. The king size bed had the best sheets I have ever slept on and the jacuzzi tub was very relaxing. We had a romantic dinner basket brought to our room. Cornish game hen....salad....fresh bread ....chocolate cake with strawberries. I can't say enough about the food! The french toast with fresh peaches was my favorite at breakfast. We will definitely be returning again soon. Plenty of shopping and hiking in the area too.

This B and B was recommended to us to handle overflow from a nearby property where we hold a weekend retreat for our employees. We booked the entire property and were so pleased with everything! The rooms are beautiful and roomy, with comfy beds and luxurious bedding. The antiques are gorgeous, and everything was sparkling clean. Let's talk about breakfast: delicious juices and coffee, homemade muffins and fresh fruit, scrambled eggs with asparagus and mushrooms, and banana split French toast! So yummy! Yvonne and Ian are such wonderful hosts, with just the right amount of hospitality. They are warm and welcoming and kind, and made us all feel like old friends. Then there was Doogle, a very handsome old boy who greeted guests with a tail wag and asking to be petted. The setting is gorgeous, and I can't wait to visit again when I have more time to relax and enjoy the views and give more love to old Doogle. Thank you for the most enjoyable stay!

My wife and I have visited twice, first in the White Oak Room in December and most recently in the Pinecone log cabin cottage. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is incredible. Just enjoyed watching the Deer from the back deck.Yvonne and Ian and the entire staff are the sweetest people that go out of their way to be certain your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. And Dougal is just adorable (loves the attention).A Perfect, warm and friendly getaway with so much available do or just to relax.

I just celebrated my 51st anniversary. It was amazing! I have stayed there at least 9-10 times and they were amazing too. The Innkeepers are wonderful. They do everything they can to make your visit the best ever. They are very friendly and willing to sit and talk when they can if you want but if you want to be alone that is perfectly fine. They want your say with them to be perfect. The food is outstanding!! I have to say I am a picky eater to some degree but not here. I love everything she fixes. The breakfast is something else and the dinner is just the best ever.I would recommend this place to for couples celebrating, for friends wanting to just have a good time and be pampered. Believe me you will feel pampered. There is wineries, cheese shops, Amish country for tasty pies to take home. This place is just as you see it on the website and just so welcoming, warm feeling.

My fiance and I enjoyed our stay and we would recommend this cozy registered B&B to anyone who is looking for some relaxation. The White Oak Room has a wonderful Jacuzzi tub that is big enough for two people that includes two robes and candles! The atmosphere is calm, lots of wildlife, and a great story on the Inn. The food was perfectly prepared and the add on's are worth it. The romantic dinner basket was so adorable and the chocolate covered strawberries were so tasty. Lastly, the king bed was comfortable, the sheets were like a cloud, and the crackling real fireplace tied it all together.*It was clean and the owners followed all Covid precautions.

Beautiful old well maintained property. A quiet hidden sanctuary with active bird houses, feeders and cheerful morning birdsong and nature sounds. Thank you for being dog friendly-- my pooch Rainy was comfy here. Friendly, attentive, accommodating innkeepers and helpful staff! Food was prepared with heartfelt care. I loved the variety of meal type choices! Hot and hearty courses in the communal dining room or fresh substantial picnic baskets served outdoors in the screen room, porch or your own room. Awesome pottery pieces in the main house!! A perfect relaxing getaway-- thank you Yvonne, Ian, and staff for a much needed respite!!!

Excellent stay. My husband booked this trip for me as a respite stay and it met all the standards and then some. From delicious home-made breakfasts, to top-notch linens with a cozy atmosphere. I feel blessed to have found this place when it was exactly what I needed. The White Oak Inn has excellent reviews and very happy clients and I can see why. The inn keepers are professional and really enjoy what they do. The chef Yvonne is very talented and skilled in the kitchen. My favorite was the Spanish torta, and warm muffins where the butter just melts off. Ian was wonderful and always had coffee ready made early in the morning for us early risers. Their servers were also wonderful, and Yvonne was present the dishes before every meal (which I found to be very professional-like a true chef). The bed was so comfortable I had to set an alarm when I napped. I could not recommend a better trip if you are riding as a couple, solo or girls weekend. Its close to many things including Amish country (Millersburg and Berlin), and also nearby Mt. Vernon (if you are need of shopping on a Sunday). There are also local trails to get exercise. The drive in either direction was beautiful and very relaxing. Their dog and kitty cat are always roaming around, and as an animal lover myself, it made me feel at home. I was able to work on some reports downstairs in the den with my laptop and had no issues with WIFI. I was also able to get WIFI in my room (I have Verizon, and only used it for looking up Google searches, and listened to Christmas music on Spotify). It might be slower in my room, however it works!I stayed in the Oak Room. It was very relaxing and quiet even with what seemed to be no vacancy (all rooms seemed booked). Everyone was very respectful of noise and space. I was also able to catch up on so much reading. This is exactly what you need if you are in need of a quiet, restful, romantic and cozy getaway. I'm looking forward to booking the cabin with my husband soon! If you are wondering if you should book, just do it! Just go!

The White Oak Inn is the definition of a hidden gem in Ohio. It is way off of the beaten path in one of the quietest and most serene areas of Amish country. The property is beautiful to walk around, have a picnic, or just sit outside at. Everything is extremely well maintained and clean; in fact the best kept B&B style accommodation I have ever stayed at. I can't speak to the rooms at the inn itself, but the separate cottages offer a fantastic romantic getaway for couples. They are rather large and feature a large jacuzzi tub and a private back patio. But the pinnacle of the White Oak Inn is its food. The dining room really takes you to a wonderful and cozy environment which is topped off with fantastic country-style breakfasts and absolutely delicious 4-course dinners. The food here is worth the stay on its own, in addition to the lovely environment that the White Oak Inn offers. Seriously, I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful the dining experience here is. It is a dry county, so bring your own wine! But they will serve you everything you need to enjoy your alcohol at no charge. The dining service is impeccable and the staff are so friendly, especially the hosts Yvonne and Martin. I really cannot say enough good things about The White Oak Inn, it is a very unique experience like no other. The only disappointment for me was the lack of wifi at the property. It is really only available in one room inside of the inn and is most likely DSL or dial-up given its slow speed. That being said, this partly adds to its charm in that you have no choice but to enjoy the property or your partner's company. Do not fret though, a 5 minute drive up the main road will bring you right back into cell service if desperately needed. All told, if you are simply looking for a beautiful place to stay in Amish country or if you are looking for a cozy, romantic getaway, the White Oak Inn most definitely will not disappoint.

We stayed at the White Oak Inn as a birthday surprise from my wife. We loved every minute. We enjoyed the dinner basket and the Sweet Dreams chocolate cake. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for the hospitality.

I dont know where to begin! From the moment we pulled into the driveway I was taken away by the beauty of the property. The owners are very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. We stayed in one of the cabins for our honeymoon and the cabin was beautiful! The food was the best food i have ever ate in my life. It is very clean and all of the staff is very friendly. They made our honeymoon a trip we will never forget and we will be returning in the future many times. This place deserves 10 stars :) thank you for making our time so enjoyable and relaxing and for feeding us very well!

Wonderful experience! My husband John and I booked a weekend to get away from the chaos, and we had a wonderful time here! We stayed in one of the cottages, and it was extremely private, yet close enough to the house to walk over and get something if you needed it.Both Ian and Yvonne were wonderful hosts, and very friendly and the food was delicious! We had 2 breakfasts and one dinner, and everything was very VERY tasty! We also ate dinner one night down at Spearman's which is a little restaurant down the road at the Marathon station, and it was really good as well.Their dog, Dougal is too cute, and very friendly as well. He was very interested in all of the guests. :) He's a perfect Inn dog and he seems to love all of the attention he receives.Everything was clean, and well thought out, and they did not hesitate to get anything at all for you if you asked for it. I would definitely recommend this B&B, and I'm sure we will be back!Thank you for a wonderful stay Ian and Yvonne!

We've visited the White Oak Inn a number of times over the years and enjoyed our stay each time. Yes, Verizon is only now providing "OK" cell service and wireless isn't like you are sitting right under the tower. However, I think there is a real advantage to setting aside your devices for a little while. My #1 reason for liking this inn is Innkeeper Yvonne's cooking. Yes, I would RUN OVER my (old) cell phone for one of her meals! She is extremely in tune with food issues and makes wonderful stuff no matter what one of us cannot eat.We have stayed in the cottages, the guest house (NOT a chicken coop!!) and in the main house, both up and downstairs. Each one has its specialties. In winter, I think I'd stay in the main house or the cottage--one for the convenience and the other for the fireplace and isolation. My schedule has White Oak Inn on it for August 2014. I can't wait.

Our first experience was on our Honeymoon. We stayed in the chicken coupe and except for one time that we stayed in the beautiful cabins we always go for the coupe. Excellent food especially making the extra effort for dinner. The hosts make it great to either eat romantically or mingle with other guests at the Inn. We usually will hit Roscoe village one day which is south of the Inn then shoot to Berlin another day which is North of the Inn. All in all a wonderful time away. Oh and don't forget the murder mystery weekend specials. You could be the killer.

Charming BnB near Ohio's Amish Country. Run by the cutest couple, well maintained accommodations both in the main inn as well as several cabins and cottages around the property! The food they serve is some of the best I have ever tasted, definitely reccomend adding on a dinner to your stay. And the beds are like sleeping on clouds! Have stayed with them twice now. First was for a murder mystery dinner that was an amazing experience. The second stay, was planned more last minute for our "Honeymoon" as our original plans were canceled due to COVID-19. The inn was clean and not once did I feel concerned for my health or safety. I can not say enough about how great this BnB is and can not wait until we can go again!!

I booked a night here for my parents, and they absolutely loved it! Yvonne and Ian were wonderful hosts, and my parents even made a few friends. Accommodations and food were great, they said, and are looking forward to visiting again. Cheers!

Very Tranquil with fantastic breakfasts and tasty (optional) dinners. In a world where everyone is racing around, The White Oak Inn was perfect for its acreage, tranquility and "off-the-treadmill" feel after our very hectic and sometimes harrowing time in Chicago. In addition to Yvonne's great meals it is also perfect if you really do want to NOT answer your phone or other devices. We have visited several times and look forward to our next visit.PICTURES: I tried to take a picture of the huge whirlpool tub in the White Oak Room, but my camera wigged out. Here are shots of my favorite reading chair, the desk in the foyer with all the great little direction sheets of interesting Amish destinations in the area and the parlor we we like hanging out. I hope the cookie jar is in this photo; the "tea and coffee anytime" machine is just off to the side.

Very nice, they welcomed us along with our dog. We stayed in a guest house which was very nice. Only wifi in the main house, a welcome respite. To hear little of the outside constructed world & instead to be dominated by sounds of nature was refreshing. We will definitely be stopping by here again when we need an escape!

This is a classic B&B in a lovely rural setting. In addition to the stately oaks surrounding the inn, the main house is filled with oak trim & furniture. I stayed in the Willow Room in an ingenious conversion of what was once a chicken house - you'd never know that without reading the excellent & thorough information folder. It was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed, with satellite TV, efficient air conditioner and a good shower.I arrived around 7 PM, and Beth, the Assistant Innkeeper, was there to meet me and offer me lemonade (other choices available). Since I needed to leave quite early the next day, I certainly would not have expected breakfast, but Beth was there to serve the light breakfast I prefer and have me on my way a few minutes after 7 AM. That's service! While the inn is definitely out-of-the-way, directions on the website are excellent. I was aware that cell phone reception is spotty, as can be expected when one goes off the beaten path. Wi-fi was available in the main house, had I needed it. I did not meet owners Yvonne & Ian, but I knew they would be away from the inn during my stay. One caution - if you're not doing a dinner package at the inn, plan to eat before you arrive.

Our recent overnighter at the White Oak was wonderfully. Had our small dog so stayed in one of the pet friendly rooms. We enjoyed both a fantastic evening meal followed by an equally good breakfast. Lots to do in the area, our fourth time there and all of them good. Thanks Bob and Sandy Metzler

My wife and i did a murder mystery party here. The location was beautiful. The inn was well cared for and the owners were awesome and so was the staff. They were very accommodating to everyones needs. We will be traveling there again for another party or to just stay for the weekend.
