I have a 2016 Chevy Silverado with 80,000 miles on it. I noticed some hard shifting when I got off the highway from third gear to fourth gear. I took it into Jim and Sons to get the issue diagnosed and fixed. They got me in right away, diagnosed the problem which they had seen several times before. The The people there explained to me that the torque converter burns itself up due to poor manufacturing it then sends metal shards into the transmission ruining the transmission of the truck. The mechanics worked quickly and got my truck back to me within a week. It runs much better now and they also put a new transmission in that doesn t allow the truck to drop down to Eco mode or four cylinders. I can t say enough nice things about the people here at Jim and sons transmission they took their time and they were friendly and professional. Truly, a trustworthy shop who stand by their work and their products. 5 Stars easy.

IMO I needed to figure out who to take my car too when the half shaft broke due to corrosion. I am super impressed that Max took care of my cars. They got me a car rental and performed the work in a timely manner. Customer service was great, and he updated me every step of the way. The price was reasonable. I would highly recommend this company.

Heidi, Wayne and all the folks at Jim & Sons were great to work with from initial inquiry to warranty check up for our transmission. Communication was clear and progress given during every stage of work on our van. We would recommend them 100%.

I should compare price around the nearly stores. Jim & son charged $118 inspection fee, but the other stores charged only $60 -$95 inspection fee. Will not recommend Jim&Son.Jim&Son also charge labor fee $118 per hour. But other stores charged around $95 per hour labor fee.I chose $95 finally because it s close to me and they did very good job.

Took my car here because the engine light came on and stopped here to see if they can be of help. I know that their transmission people, but they usually could steer in the right direction, or maybe even help you. Who knows? That was a huge mistake. Let me say it was over $550 mistake. They did absolutely nothing. They should have been honest and told me that I should go to someplace else. But no, they want the money.

I ve worked in the auto repair business for over thirty years and I know how a reputable shop operates. When my 2006 Silverado blew a transmission line taking the transmission with it I called Jim and Sons. From the first phone call to picking up my truck after repairs I was completely impressed with the way I was treated. COMPLETE and accurate diagnosis, repairs completed before promised time, and the final invoice was to the penny of the estimate. I can t say enough about the service. 5 Stars!!!

When I needed a transmission G&R Auto Service recommended Jim And Sons Transmission and im glad they did. once they fugure out i need a new transmission and Tiff was always keeping me in form with what was going on with my car transmission even now it took a couple weeks get done I whiuld not take my car anywhere else its all worth it they did a awesome job get me back and running agsin thank u so much to crew tgat work hard get my car fixbecky

My engine light was on then I went to the shop to repair, $ 700 was charged but the engine light was still on, they said they can do nothing, I had to go to the other shop for help, and I was informed because they fixed transmission not professionally and cause the engine light still on. Jim and son just wasted my time and money, Tiffany is so terrible!

Total faith in this company. I had my car to another shop three times with no result. A friend recommended Jim and sons... They replaced the axles and now my car feels brand new. Thank you to Jim & Sons for outstanding service diagnosing and rebuilding my transmission. They were honest from the beginning and my final bill was even less than they originally quoted. On top of that they got it done fast. I recommend them to anyone needing quality transmission work at an affordable price. I couldn't be happier. Jim and Sons got done is less than 2 weeks what the largest used car dealer in Ohio couldn't get done in 6 weeks.

The auto shop I use noticed a rear differential leak and referred me to J&S as they did not do transmission work. It took about a week to get an appointment but the service advisor was friendly and scheduling was easy. I had indicated over the phone and on the drop off envelope about proceeding with 2 of the 3 recommended services, but they had performed all 3 when I picked up my car and was charged as such. After speaking with Max, he very kindly removed the charges for the item. I really appreciate that he trusted me and commend the customer-orientation these folks have!Service: Transmission

This shop is experienced/knowledgeable/straight shooting shop among average/inexperienced/money driven shops. Jim & Sons Transmission has worked on two separate vehicles I ve owned, and both times took care of my vehicles (Chevy truck & Ford SUV) while keeping me abreast to the issues, coordinating/communicating with insurance, educating me along the way, and not setting up high expectations but always over delivering. Really guys, if you need any work on your transmission this is where you need to go. Thanks again Jim & Sons, you all are top shelf.

I live about 2 hours south of their business.The daughter's car had a check engine light come on and the scan code pointed towards transmission failure.We were recommended to their shop.I made the phone call and they were able to get our car in a very timely manner.After their Diagnostics they kept me updated on the process going forward and the price. They were able to find and replace some other issues. Before they made any additional changes or fixes they contacted me letting me know what they found in the price up frontTheir representatives were honest with me the entire time.I never physically stepped foot in their business but they did keep me informed as they were working on our child's car.Their customer service is A+If you are in their area of either shop I would highly recommend giving them a call.Service: Transmission

ABOVE AND BEYOND! I have been taking my companies work trucks here for years and they have been honest, fair and do great work. My elderly mother took her car in and they were amazing. Best place in Northern Ohio to get your transmission or clutch serviced. Family business with a long tradition of great work, good customer service, and realistic pricing. If you are considering having Jim & Sons do work on your vehicle, I can say with complete confidence, they will do it right. I have used them for over a decade and they have helped me with multiple vehicles over the years and I have been totally 100% satisfied. (And I am picky)

Just had my truck at their shop. No scheduled appt since it was a blown line, even after telling them no hurry keep it as long as you need. It was finished the next day. These guys are the monst trustworthy shop around and the only place I go for transmission work.

We live 45mins away and drove my Escape down there to be looked at d/t Ford telling me i had a transmission issue. they ran tests and come to find out it wasn t a transmission issue and an engine issue. they were nice enough to recommend someone close to them and even took my vehicle over to the other shop for me so i didn t have to drive 45mins just to take my vehicle up the street. everyone there was wonderful to work with and gave my transmission a little tune up and were reasonably priced.Service: Transmission

Another shop quoted replacing the axle seals on my truck along with some other work.I decided to have Jim's take a look at the axle seals as I would've prefered to have them do that part of work.Max at Jim and Son's looked at the truck and told me the axle seals do not need replaced.I thought they needed replaced based on the other shop's evaluation.Max told me, " I treat your truck as if it was my truck and you don't need to replace the seals"That's honesty.It started with their Grandfather and down thru their Dad Jim.Max and Dan have been working on transmissions since they were kids and now run the shop at a high level. Tiffany is fantastic and very thorough. The entire team is excellent.I've had work done at Jim's for many years, since the early 90's, multiple vehicles, and they continue to earn my business to this day. You won't find a better shop. I couldn't be happier with my experience. After getting the run around from a Jeep Dealership I decided to try Jim and son's. They fixed my problem at half the price the Dealership quoted me, they routinely communicated with me regarding the status of my vehicle, and were always friendly. Highly recommend.

Update 5/10/23: I took the car back and it was a loose vacuum hose or something like that. Everything has been running fine since then (but I will keep checking as time goes on) as far as I can tell; still really scary to have my check engine light on before I even left the lot , but at least now I am mostly satisfied.Update 5/8/23 just picked my car up (different one from below) after getting a transmission rebuild done and the check engine light keeps coming on and strange noises are coming from the car that werent before i dropped it off. Im not sure what, but something isn t quite right with the car since ive picked it up; hopefully i can get things sorted out. On top of that its also still acting weird when shifting from park to drive (which was the main symptom i outlined when servicing it) again something isnt quite right and my car is almost behaving worse than it was before i serviced the transmission here.Jim and sons has been fantastic to me after i had a horrible experience with a chevy dealership. I will be using them to get a new transmission in my one car and they just did some preventative work and a general inspection on a used car i recently bought. Fair pricing and super professional, also confident enough in their work to issue warranties; the same cant be said for others. To this point ive been pleased and will be a loyal customer (who hopefully doesnt come very often assuming they keep up the good work ).Service: Transmission
