Top customer service and a lovely family owned business. Fair pricing, accurate estimates, and clear communication of what's up with your car. They also are super real with you about what your alternatives are, price comparisons, and explanations of "what will happen if I don't fix this?" or "how long can I put this off?" type of questions. A great place for service if you are driving a beater or old car. Once they installed a sensor in my old Saturn that I had purchased myself at my request, even though it wasn't something they had purchased or recommended. They also recommended me a great trustworthy muffler place when they weren't the best people to fix my exhaust system. I recommend this shop to everyone.

My car was giving me some troubles and making a weird noise. I took it here on a Thursday around 7:30am and they had gotten me in and taken care of everything, got the part, gave me a call for an estimate and then a call once it was done. It s not even noon yet and I m going to pick it up! Love them and this place. Service is so great and they are very honest about the things that are wrong and will work with you. Absolutely loved the service definitely using this as my main place.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

Why I waited so long to try Payne's is beyond me! What a TERRIFIC experience we had there with the diagnosis and replacement of an alternator. The customer service was exceptional, the quality of the work equally so, and the billing very reasonable. Payne's is hands-down the best mechanic shop that I have ever gone to! They are honest, trustworthy, timely, and cost effective. I have taken my car there 3 times now and each time I have a great experience. I can promise you when I say that I know absolutely nothing about cars. I can't even change a tire. Most of the time I would get taken advantage of for that, but not at Payne's. They are patient and will talk to you on the phone for as long as you need to make sure you understand everything that is wrong with your car. I was having minor issues with my transmission, took it to Payne's, and they called and basically said Hey your car is 10 years old and has 180k miles. It's not worth it to put in a new transmission. What other shop would do that?! Anyone else would replace the transmission and hand you a bill for $2,000. Can't recommend Payne's enough!!!

As soneone who doesn't know cars, it is a little intimidating trying to maintain my car. I come to Paynes for my oil changes and have done a handful of repairs here - each interaction with this business has built confidence and trust that my car is being taken care of. Recommend if you're looking for a reliable mechanic for your older vehicle. The prices are reasonable and their work has been very good.This seems like a family owned business with roots in the neighborhood. The customer service is friendly and knowledgeable. You can call in to book an appointment. They have a few chairs to wait while your car is being serviced, but it seems like most people leave and wait for the call. Usually I walk over to high street to grab a cup of coffee and visit the library.

I've been taking cars, SUVs, truck to Payne's for 15 years. They are honest and straight with me, have comptitve prices, and complete the job quickly. I almost do not want to recommend them because I want to keep the secret to myself. I highly recommend them!

I have been going to this place for years. My grand father really trusted this place, and they have never steered me wrong. Quality work, honest, and willing to work with you. Best shop in town. I would highly recommend Payne's

It's where I've been going to get my car fixed since moving back to Columbus about four years back based on a recommendation. It's family run, the staff always treats me well, doesn't try to bullroar me about what's needed if a part isn't absolutely necessary and they get to know your car.

Honest service is what it's all about at Payne's. I can't imagine going anywhere else after dealing with several other companies and dealerships for repairs and oil changes.

Great family run business. They can't do everything but are reasonably priced. Only open 8-5, Monday thru Friday but that's the way it should be.

The Patti Wagon, Jay prefers that over Browns Mobile, is back in action. Payne Auto on Indianola corrected my miss wired starter replacement for a fair and honest price. Replaced a fuse and topped the oil.
