Probably the only honest mechanic in Columbus. I had a severe oil leak in my car after an oil change at a local quick oil change shop. The manager of the oil change place claimed that my car was old and that it wasn t their fault. I initially took my car to a different shop for a diagnostic, and that shop claimed the oil cooler was broken, and quoted me $3700 to fix it. I was floored by this, because the online quote from the same shop was $500-650. After they refused to budge, I found Ernie s who gave me a far more reasonable quote for the same repair. I had my car towed there, and got a call from Ernie s almost immediately. Imagine my surprise when Ernie s said that whoever had changed my oil had left the o ring off, and that s why it was leaking oil. The first shop had missed this obvious issue, and proceeded to quote me an exorbitant amount for a repair my car didn t need. Ernie s fixed it and I picked my car up the same day. I have had no other problems. Total repair was $16. Unfortunately for Ernie s they now have a customer for life. :) Save your time and come here first.

Veteran took my truck here they had it for 5 hours the veterans service was paying for work they never started working complaining bolts stripped but after taking to other mechanic he removed bolts no problem Ernies made diagnostic remarks without service.You claim your shop doesn't recognize my name I have a invoice to prove what I say and as owner you should check in on your shop e main Street

Had my car towed to Ernie's on 12/4/23 because it was leaking coolant due to a bad thermostat. They had it fixed and ready to go in the early afternoon on 12/5/23. The overall cost of the repairs was extremely reasonable. I was very surprised at how fast and cheap they fixed it, especially considering I didn't have an appointment.

I m Lana I recently had my van towed by Ernies they arrive to my home Iin. Less than 20 mins .I was quoted a fair rate and I knew my van was in good hands

Very knowledgeable and friendly with flexible service times which makes emergency issues as easy as dropping it off to get in line for next available inspections. I had some brake work done and my slave cylinder to the clutch was going bad they did a very good job and Nate was very professional and honest as they have always been at Ernies. I won't go anywhere else for my Vehicle needs! Great shop!! Thank you guys!!

Ernie's did some brake work for us. We have had them do our repairs off and on for 20+ years. The longtime owner recently retired and they have a new owner now. We hope they will stay good like the former owners.

Bill at Ernie's is AMAZING!!! We drove my grandson's Lincoln to the shop yesterday to see what the noise was coming from the wheel; it ended up being wheel bearings. He was able to fit us in; called less than an hour later with his complete diagnostic and within 2 hours, the car was ready!!! I would absolutely recommend Ernie's to everyone I know!!!

I took my Hummer H3 to Ernie s to see if he could replace the fuel door that I purchased online after someone destroyed my original one trying to steal it. Ernie said that the fender had to be removed just to replace the fuel door! I knew he didn t know what he was talking about. I took it to Malcolm s garage and he replaced it in less than 20 min, and the fender didn t have to be removed. Be careful where you take your car, because all mechanics aren t created equal!!!

Bob what a great guy, Ernie's automotive is one of the last of the last of the old time. Where they remember your name they know who you are and they're honest when they say something's wrong with your vehicle they don't try to upsell you. They don't try to. Galju over price you. One of those for far from few that are around where a handshake means. Integrity and honesty.

Amazing service!! Was able to be squeezed in early in the morning for an inspection. Showed my video of the noise coming from my vehicle. Mechanic checked twice and nothing that was immediate problems or any at all. He could ve been dishonest and gave me an imaginary issue with my vehicle, and taken advantage of specially with the video I showed. But I wasn t and I also wasn t charged for the inspection either! It s very rare nowadays to find a HONEST, trustworthy repair shop. Thank you men for all that you do!!

Great customer service and friendly! I'm 3 hours out of town and they were able to get me in for a used car inspection before buying a car! Very thorough and upfront with the vehicle condition. Would highly recommend them for your vehicle's service.

We were on a family vacation and on our way home when the alternator decided it was going to go out. Luckily we were close to our hotel when this happened. The next morning I started calling several places hoping to find someone to fix this and get us back in the road. The owner of the shop said to come right in and he would do whatever he could to get us back on the road. I cannot thank the owner for his ability to get us in without an appointment and able to get back home. If you are in the Columbus Ohio area this is the place to go.

My husband and I came here to have our wheel studs replaced. They were so welcoming, and stayed after close to finish the job for us. I will definitely be coming here for any other auto work in the future. Great place, great mechanics, and wonderful customer service.

Too expensive, I don't think the mechanic price labor according to other mechanic prices, It seems that he prices according to how hard it's goin to be for him. Especially if he hasn't worked on your car type often. I have a friend who is currently utilizing these services. And almost everyday something else is wrong with the car since she got it back. I don't know if it there fault I just don't think they are really fixing her car. And I don't think they know exactly what is wrong with it. Be careful

I took my 1973 Mach 1 to Ernies. What started as a blown head gasket turned into a new engine and headers. While it was there we sent my Fmx transmission to his specialist. Bill , the owner, worked on it himself in between his normal customers needs. It was a big job ND he did gret! My baby is back and better than ever. They had my vehicle for a whole day and did absolutely nothing to it. I asked to have some specific work done. They didn't even put air in my tires. Nothing was done. They still charged me over $100. I was supposed to get a follow up call with a list of parts that needed to be replaced. They never called. Going to Ernie's was a waste of time and money. Do yourself a favor. Find somewhere else to fix your ride.

I visited this establishment after having being referred by a very reputable individual and making an appointment with ( Bill).Bill's discourtious service and brow beating was to the extent that I didn't know how low I needed to bow and scrape in order to give him my hard earned money.Once I informed ( Bill) of such he curtly said he didn't want by business.So so I leaft and canvassed the good competition on his Street!

Our family has been going to Ernies for years, and all I can say is terrible customer service. Great mechanics very thorough and experienced. But customer service is part of the process also.
