I used Columbus Transmission way back in the day. Some after our dealership told us that we needed a new transmission i said let s get another option. So called and Todd said being it in and will look at it. Well after they topped off the transmission fluid they test drove the vehicle and said they had no reason to tear it out and fix anything. So out their recommendation we kept driving it. And they said bring it in if something happens. Well all good so far. Thanks for their honesty.and professionalism.

Called at least 12 different shops around Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus after my transmission in my 2006 Acura TL went out. These guys were super cool and straight-up honest and very knowledgeable and helpful. Towed my car almost 100 miles to them. Had the transmission in on a Tuesday and had the car ready by Friday morning! Even replaced a very worn engine mount and wheel studs. Very reasonable on price and help source transmissions if needed. If you ever have transmission troubles and need help, these guys are the real deal!

Can't say enough about Todd & the guys at Columbus Transmission! Todd was so helpful & beyond patient dealing with my extended warranty company/claim. (Which lemme tell ya, anyone thats had an extended warranty knows they are not the easiest ppl to work with!)I spent hours reading reviews from all the transmission shops in the area, and no other shop came close to having the amount of positive reviews -or more importantly, the lack of negative reviews- as Columbus Transmission.Can't thank you guys enough! A+ Team :)

A transmission place that doesn't know transmissions.I had my nissan towed to Columbus transmission (CT) earlier in the year. At first I was surprised they no longer do transmission repairs and you had to replace the whole transmission, which for a transmission repair service seems odd.Anyways, i paid up front over $4500 and it took over 2 weeks and they never called me. I had to call them for any updates on my repair. After finally getting my car back, it started slipping immediately. I took it to another shop to make sure it was the transmission and they confirmed it was.So I called CT telling them my new tansmission was still slipping and they took another look. They then had the gall to tell me it was a wheel bearing sound reverberating up through the engine...After getting my money it was like my car no longer mattered.I had the other shop call them telling CT it was a transmission problem after they checked again and the other shop also said my bearings were fine. CT finally looked at it but didn't know what to do so they dumped it at a nissan dealer and after 2 more weeks of no contact I called multiple times for updates. Nissan tested and stated there wasn't enough transmission fluid which formed an air pocket and caused it to slip.The other shop told me they might rethinjg referring people to CT after my experience.You would think a transmission place would know how to replace transmission fluid and also diagnose transmission issues they caused themselves... Even after all that, Floyd smiled at me and they sent my on my way, no discounts, no rental car costs waived, no nothing; just a month of no car, additional travel expenses, lack of contact, and incompetence.Take your car to a dealer, at least you'll get it done right the first time.

They worked on my Audi A8L Quattro, I sourced a Remanufactured Transmission and they did the work of removal of old and the installation of the new as well as checked and cleaned the lines and trans cooler. The labor cost of $1200 may be high to some but the Audi Quattro is alot of work, with subframe removal and exhaust as well as front axles. The job was clean and I recommend them for your needs as well. 5 stars is earned.

I have worked with Floyd for a few years now and he is the "true" deal. He is honest and trustworthy. I always feel like I am getting fair treatment and that is what you want in a mechanic shop. I have had several vehicles repaired here in the past and Floyd and his crew always do a good job. But this time we took my friends vehicle in because we thought the transmission needed to be worked on but in the end it was not the transmission but the brakes that were making the horrible noise so after looking at the vehicle there was no charge, for which we were very happy. Wish they worked on brakes because it was $2300 at a different repair shop and I would have preferred Floyd in his crew take care of it because they have such integrity!!!

Had my car towed here at the recommendation of my regular shop as they thought it was a transmission issue.Thank the All Mighty, it wasn't. Seems I popped an axle, they got me in and out same day. So very grateful Thank you

This is the 2nd time in a couple days I have taken my truck here for what my usual mechanic thought were mystery transmission issues; they were able to figure out the actual problem, saved me a huge amount of money compared to what the possible original issue was and didn't even charge me for the diagnostics! Super nice guys, would not hesitate at all to recommend!

Mr. Floyd was so nice and made sure to keep me informed about the progress of my repair. When an opportunity presented itself to get my car in early, he got my car in and out. The repair was done and I haven't had any issues. I recommend that you call Mr. Floyd at 201 N. Hamilton Rd. if you need some transmission work done!

They just did work on my Ford f150 , I have it towed to them Tuesday afternoon, and by Thursday afternoon my truck transmission was rebuilt. My transmission runs better now then when I first got it. Cost is in the med range. Very affordable for fast and amazing work. Plus warranty. Great job guys thank you so much. I can see why your reviews are so high. True professionals at what you all do.

When you go to most auto shops they look to rip you off, well at Columbus Transmission I can assure you it is the exact opposite! Took my suv there for a complete transmission rebuild, took about a week and got it back and a few days later realized something was wrong. Took it back and they honored the warranty and fixed it back up again for free. Very honest people who keep you updated the whole time, fixed it at a good price and when they realized they messed up, they fixed their mistake which is very honest and professional of them. If you re looking to get great work done at a good price with people who are genuinely trying to fix your car and are very fair, then I definitely would recommend!Service: Transmission

Daughter new to Columbus and took car there after reading previous reviews. Floyd was extremely helpful and gave her a quote sight unseen. Damage ended up being much more extensive than originally thought however Floyd held true to his original estimate. Just got car back and she said it now drives better than ever. Would highly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about the work I had done here. My 2-4 band was broke, and with the age of the transmission it needed rebuilt. I visited a few transmission shops in Columbus before Columbus Transmission. I do all my own work on my car, and in talking with the other shops I didn't feel that they would take care of the problem as I needed. When I talked to Columbus Transmission, everything was answered that I needed to know. When I got the car back, the transmission was better than new. They asked to bring it back in month to do a check on it. They were the only shop to give me a price range based on if they could re-use any parts after inspection. In my case they couldn't, but it's nice that they try to do the job at a reasonable cost. After all was done, the price was 300 lower than anyone else and I feel the quality of work was superior to the other shops. I would not hesitate to go back here if I needed transmission work done.

I had a transmission issue years ago and expected a huge bill, they found a sensor that was bad and $300 later i was on my way. So it only made sense for us to come back.We took my sons car in for transmission issues and totally expected that with 120k miles, it maybe time for a new transmission. The owner said the fluid was over filled, drained the fluid and said they'd like to test drive it for a few days. Later that week, I called and the owner said it must have just been the extra fluid that they took out. When my son went to pay, the owner said there was no charge since the work they did was minimal. This was a life lesson for my son. This place does good work and is honest!!

Bought a Buick Rendezvous and there was major issues with it, placed a transmission cooler on it just for it to bust and tear up my transmission, called Floyd he told me to bring in, transmission was rebuilt and he replaced the transmission cooler for no extra charge, great place to have work on you automobile, polite, friendly and really takes care of their customers. Highly recommended this transmission place for price and service they go the extra mile hands down. Thank Floyd and all your staff.

These guys are great I've had two transmissions rebuilt here and was very happy with their customer service very good at explaining to you exactly what your problem is, keeping you informed during the process, and very fair pricing for the quality of work! They will also inform you of other engine problems not related to transmission if they find any while working on tranny.

I was referred by a mechanic friend that had Floyd and his expert staff of transmission specialists work on his wifes car. I called and they were able to get me in quickly. I have a 2003 Trailblazer with 4 wheel drive and it was running so bad I could not drive on the freeway. I dropped it off with a price quote 300.00 less than anyone else in town. They called me a few days later and found the lines to and from the radiator were rusted and worthless. They went ahead and the repairs and stuck to my original quoted price. No joke they did about 150.00 of extra work for nothing.!!Customer for life for such great customer service!! Thanks Floyd you guys are a class act!!

Exceptional service.I was on the road, 1,500 miles from home, when my transmission went out in Columbus, Ohio. With one phone call, Columbus Transmission had my disabled van towed to their shop, and had my van back on the road within 48 hours.The staff is courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. The rates are excellent. I would definitely use their services again.If you are in need of transmission work in central Ohio, I absolutely recommend Columbus Transmission.

The best transmission place around, bar none. Floyd was amazing, remembered my name car make and model. He has been there for o er 42 years. You wont find a better, honest, or cheaper transmission place anywhere.

NTB said our vehicle had a very bad transmission leak. Took to Columbus Transmissions. They stated that there was no leak and didn't charge us.Highly recommend.VERY HONEST!!Service: Transmission
