Bought a used Searay listed with pier 53. Spencer was very easy to work with and very responsive to my calls and emails. Tony in the service department and his team were fast to get to my new to me boat to check a couple things

I had to share my experience with this Pier 53 Marina. I was referred by a friend who had a good experience with them as far as moving his boat and setting it on stands. Whatever you do, do not let this marina perform any service on your boat. This whole ordeal started like this. The starter was acting up when I had it sitting on a trailer at my shop right before Memorial Day. I contacted the Pier 53 service desk. Actually, the staff there seemed nice enough. They could get my boat in but it would be a couple weeks. I had no problem with this since it was the holiday weekend and everyone with a boat was just getting their vessel in the water. I know all Marina s are busy with start up issues and repairs. Fast forward to Labor Day Weekend. Not Kidding. I get my boat back after a $5200.00 bill. Starter, new plugs, oil sending unit, shift cable and bellows, new yoke seal, new ring gear due to grinding noise, 2 new batteries( old ones were just 2 years old), an alternator, a $125 dollar boat launch fee, and a $186 dollar sea trial. Not happy with the bill but I grinned and was looking forward to a great Labor Day weekend. Well, as we headed out to the local beach to anchor off, I noticed my bilge was full of water. I mean a lot of water. I had to activate the bilge pump manually to get rid of it. The auto bilge was not working due to a bad float switch that was so obvious to me. They did charge me $63 dollars out of the $5200 to replace a connection when the obvious problem was the float switch. I also noticed that the hot and negative wires going to a a power bank were both setting on the negative terminal of battery #1. I wondered why my ship/shore radio, stereo, and led lights did not work. I was charged $125 to install two batteries that probably were not bad. The installer had no clue what they were doing. Both batteries were 2 yrs old or less and always trickle charged during storage. My alternator was the culprit apparently. I happened to check the oil while I was at it. 2 Quarts low on the dipstick and I was charged stupid money for the oil. I also had the gps torn off my dash while they did some repair. I had to remount it since they stripped the backing behind the face plate. Not to mention the boat was filthy inside. Leaves and garbage everywhere. No clean up at all after they performed their work. My wife and I spent two hours cleaning the cockpit area. The same day the boat breaks down leaving the beach. All this after dropping $5200 DOLLARS. I got ahold the service manager Tony and told him how I felt. They picked up the boat and 3 weeks later they replaced a knock sensor that was corroded causing the boat to limit at 1500 RPM. They now tell me the boat runs great. So the big question. Why is this boat taking on water? He tells me he thinks the water is coming in the top of the outdrive at the Gimbal Ring Seal. So I get another estimate to repair that for $1700 dollars and an additional possibly $1850 in parts. I had enough. I found another marine mechanic who was very knowledgeable. We put the boat in the water on the trailer and within 10 seconds he saw the water coming in at the top of the outdrive. I saw it gushing in as soon as he pointed it out. He says to me why wasn t this found when they had my boat for over 3 months. Pier 53 had my engine out to replace a ring gear and had the outdrive apart to do the yoke seal. $186.00 dollars were charged to run test my boat and they miss a waterfall coming in the stern. This other mechanic tells me that the boat engine needs pulled again and the outdrive needs to come apart. This is the only correct way to do the repair. Too many things missed, price gouging, and inexperienced mechanics were the issues at this place. I even called the owner( who lives in my neighborhood) to tell him about my experience. No return call to me. I paid Porsche Dealership prices and got backyard mechanic service. Bottom line do not use this Marina for Service!!

Spencer and the TOTAL staff were awesome during my entire process. Tony in the service department was incredible with my new boat. And the closing staff were the best that I've ever encountered in any closing. Thanks Team!

Highly recommend Pier 53 across the board. We have used Pier 53 for winter storage and service and their staff has been terrific. We also used their brokerage service when we listed our Boat. Spencer was our sales person and he s the best. When I think of the kind of person I would want representing me as a Seller, I think first of what the potential Buyer s experience would be. I took comfort that that any Buyer would be treated great, with attention, and with total honesty. We found that in Spencer and the rest of the staff.

Terrible experience with this place and the staff. Dawn lied to us and was extremely rude. If I could give a minus 5 I would. We moved our boat out of there in less than a season. We found an amazing pier with wonderful staff where the amenities are great for the same price. Shop around and you will get more for your money!

We visited Pier 53 because they were having an open house & we are in the market for a boat. A nice selection of food & beverages were presented. The boat inventory was a bit disappointing the showroom is on the size & it is February.

I listed my boat with Spencer Segaard. He was honest, communicative, and delivered on all of his promises. I would recommend Spencer to anyone looking to buy or sell.

The marina should vet their listing better. I spent over a week trying to purchase one of their current listings and was told by the sales person that my offer was very good. After wasting over a week waiting for a reply, I was told the owner changed his mind and wasn t selling the boat. I feel I was just being played by the owners and possibly the salesman.

Great buying experience at this dealer while buying my boat. Coming from 8 hours away I was hesitant but Joe made it easy. Did the paper work that we could over the phone and he was ready when we got there for a test drive. Great place to buy a boat.

**BUYERS BEWARE**We were looking to buy a used boat from Pier 53 and we had their 2001 CHAPARRAL 285 SSi in our sights. The salesman informed me the boat was from PA and nothing more.....After pulling a boat history report ($40.00 online, I strongly advise) it was discovered that the boat spent most of its life in Maryland, meaning SALT WATER! This was never mentioned and when I brought it up with the salesman he stated "We got it from PA last year and that is all the history we know".....You would think a dealer would pull a boats history and share it with potential buyers, but instead Pier 53 decided to be shady...I will be taking my business elsewhere.

These guys saved our day when we had a failure at the ramp after driving 2 hours there to fish. They told me to come in they'd look at it same day. I was fixed and gone within 45 mins. Will be back for any future repair needs

I spend several days each summer here, sometimes running fishing charters, sometimes hanging out on days off. It's a quiet marina with friendly dockers.
