Just bought a CB7 Accord here. The owner Jon was honest, professional and friendly. I can tell he definitely takes pride in the cars he sells here, a lot of them being imported from out west and down south so the rust is minimal. I had a very good experience overall and would definitely buy from here again!

Have a 2010 Forester that is getting up there in miles and needed a new timing belt, head gasket, and a few other items done. Jon was down to earth and communicative through the whole process and got everyone done in good time. My Subaru is running great now! Highly recommend.

Did not end up buying anything, just a cool guy with a neat collection of rust free vehicles. If you want a weird Subaru, you can find it here.

Very happy with my purchase from Grizzly Garage!! Jon is brilliant with Subarus, stayed responsive to communications and is a genuine salesman. The description of the car was accurate to reality, and fairly priced. I do not live local to this garage, but I would recommend it to everyone!

Did my fix quickly and at a good price. Identified and fixed several mistakes made by my previous mechanic, including a safety issue. Patiently explained the safety issue to me in detail which helped me get the previous mechanic to fix it for free.

Bought an sti the pictures were perfect no rust no dents cleanest interior ever. I called them and asked about it before I bought it they blatantly lied straight to my face horrible people untrustworthy, the car came and it was full of dents and rust all over the car. That s not all it needs brakes, headlights , and after I drive it I gave me a check engine like not even 30 mins of the car being in my hands. Scanned it the car was running lean and misfired in cylinder 1, pulled plugs, check compression. It was super low needs either head or rings. The list of problems goes on and on. Long story short don t buy from these scammers they are horrible people and don t know how to fix cars

USED CAR BUYER AND MECHANICAL REPAIR CUSTOMER BEWAREI bought a 1996 Saturn SL2 from John. MADE IT 40 MILES HOME AND PUKED 2 QUARTS OF OIL. When I called John about the issue with this car, I was pushed away on it being my problem, not his and was dealt with in probably the most unprofessional manner ever. John sold the car on the timing chain being done, which envolves the valve cover needing replaced. And after my in the driveway diagnosis was one of the possibilities I've came too. When asked if that could be the issue his response was "that is impossible I did it properly you don't know what your talking about"Couple weeks later I'm able to take it to a mechanic and problem was that the valve cover gasket was installed incorrectly, causing the leak as well as warping the valve cover in the process. So intern if you want to buy a car with half done repair work and absolutely horrible customer service, John the guy.Can only imagine how he treats issues on people's subaru builds if this is how he treats a customer buying a car.

Bought a sti and drove not even 1 day before car died out on me. Car came from Ohio transported to me in Florida with no tune. Was told brakes are new and spark plugs. Come to find out that was all a lie. Maybe the head gasket and timing is a lie too haha. Wire harness was hacked in and needed replacement. Not sure how a Subaru specialist would let a vehicle like this go. Seemed very upfront over the phone but once the vehicle came to me it was down hill from there. Oh yea it came with a spare key and fob just for it to not even match up to my vehicle. Car was obviously put together for a quick sale. Honesty is key to a business and they have failed at that. Terrible impression. You would think your car is going to be mechanically ready if a mechanic sells it. Obviously we have some people who just want a quick flip.

Worst experience ever purchasing a car and Im a used vehicle dealer so that's saying a lot.I called and spoke with owner he assured me that vehicle was sound and good shape. once I had it shipped to me the body was full of dents, both front fenders, both pass side doors, The engine needs to be replaced it has low compression on cylinder 1. (60psi) and poured blue smoke out of the exhaust.obviously his business is a joke, and has no business selling vehicles or working on them.so I called him to come to a resolution and no answer. (not surprised). then I called his business number listed on his website but again no answer. I left voice mails with no call back. beware of this liar when buying anything or receiving any service from grizzly garage. in hinsight I shouldve read all the other one star reviews he has collected then maybe I wouldn't have been ripped off.

Bought a car from Jon and it had an overheating issue. Contacted him and he eventually got back to me and apologized for the extended period of time where he didn t respond due to covid. I had already tried to fix the car on my own since he didn t respond and once he got back he offered everything he could. A little bit of a hassle but everything was corrected in the end. All is good and he s a good guy. He s a resource for me now and I appreciate all he has done to help. Thank you Jon!

I bought a 2006 sti off of jon. He was more than willing to let me test drive it without him to see the vehicle. The problem we had with the car he fixed in 30 minutes (it was just wipers) then all paperwork was fast and easy. And the title came in within 3 day! He also sent me a tee shirt and stickers. Very good price, great guy, knows what he is talking about. I reccomend him heavily to anyone looking for or needs work on a subaru. If I could have given him 10 stars I would have!

John at Grizzly Garage is extremely knowledgeable with all things Subaru. Not only that, but he is fair, honest, and reasonable. If you're looking for a mechanic you can trust come to Grizzly Garage. He walked me through every fix he did and was happy to show me parts to further help me understand what went wrong. He answered my questions and made me feel welcomed and heard. I am disappointed in myself for not coming here sooner.

It's difficult to find, but it's worth it.Jon Walas and his team did an admirable job repairing my Subaru. I needed new head gaskets (common problem, big job) and the work was done in a very reasonable amount of time for a very fair price. They didn't bullsht me - I provided lots of my own parts for the job and they did everything the could to make my experience a good one. Thanks Jon, cheers

We bought a car from this place and on the way home the check engine light came on. My husband contacted them multiple times and they continue to give him the run around. We have had the car about a week and there are multiple codes being thrown and now it has an antifreeze leak. I understand it is a used car but they claimed to have fixed all of the issues. This is not a good way to make a good name for yourself.

I bought a used car from Grizzly Garage and am horrified at their repair work. They advertised it with the head gaskets, timing belt, water pump, and thermostat replaced with all OEM parts. The car was smoking after they put it together and they thought it was a fueling issue because of a fuel level indicator check engine light. The oil was overfilled as well, something I should ve payed more attention to. I purchased the car knowing it would be a project, but wow, I don t think anyone could do much worse than these guys did. Let s begin.Once I got it back, I changed the oil and drained 12 quarts out. The engine is only meant to hold 4.5. I fixed the smoking problem, only to find an engine knock. It s my educated guess that they overfilled the crankcase so much that it hid the actual problem.Over 35% of every bolt that s needed to hold the engine together or in place was loose or striped out. This includes the following important bolts: 3 bell housing bolts, 2 oil pump bolts, 2 timing belt pully/gear bolts and a single water pump bolt. I counted 10 different holes where the threads were gone.Nearly every gasket/oring was reused with RTV applied except for the head gaskets and possibly the valve cover gaskets. They did replace the head gaskets as was advertised. There was already a coolant leak coming from the water pump and an oil leak from the behind the timing cover. The water pump and thermostat weren t new. In fact, the water pump is about ready to fail. The timing belt was replaced at some point with a napa belt, otherwise, the other timing components looked original. Also, the hydraulic timing belt tensioner was either bad, or improperly bled because the belt was too loose. Way too loose. Valve clearances were very far out of spec as well.Even though they never told me they accessed the bottom end, I found more of the same as above. The knock sensor was 60 degrees off and the case halve bolts were not installed with the sealing washers inside the cooling jackets. In addition, RTV was on not applied in the correct spots on the case halves. They do know how to seal an oil pan though!Grizzly Garage lied to me about the root problem, lied to me about the parts that were replaced, and put the engine together with no regard to the next guy. I m not sure if they are that bad at mechanical work, or if they put it together like this on purpose. Either way, it s bad and they deserve a 0 star if possible.

Horrible service! If you're wanting to get bent over without the use of Vaseline, or a reach around, Grizzly Garage has got you covered! A buddy of mine bought a vehicle and was told it didn't have any issues, only to find out it needs a new motor!!
