The receptionist did not tell me in advance when I got my car in to check engine light that in case of no services/ repairs done at the shop, I will be charged the amount of the diagnostic test which is 85$. That is domethibg you need to tell thd customer before you even touch the car , not after!! Diagnostic tests are free at multiple shops around town!! in addition, the prices are veeerry high !!!! the estimate of the repair was even higher than what the dealership gave me!!!

This place was absolutely most unprofessional and a complete rip off, after having my daughters car worked on for a water pump they told her she couldn t pay with credit card over the phone considering I m in Cleveland and she s in Athens Ohio attending college. Then she gets there to use my card over the phone and said they can t split payments amongst two separate cards never heard of any of this nonsense and would have been nice to had known all these stipulations before the work was done never again will this place get my business period

Mr. Tire charged me $300 for a brand new battery alone and never actually put a new battery in. It was my fault for not checking but I assumed after paying, getting my receipt and seeing that the head mechanic signed off that all the work was done that I didn t need to. A couple weeks went by and I decided to pop my hood and found that I didn t have a new battery and it was the same exact battery I had before. I can t say for certain but it seemed like they were trying to rip off a clueless female . I went in and showed them my receipt. They did correct the problem. I figured it was just a mistake and trusted them to do more work. I had them change all 4 of my tires and get all new brakes. After sitting in the shop for 8 hours (they told me it wouldn t take that long and they d get me right in) I finally got my car back to drive home. Every-time I turned the wheel my car and wheel was shaking violently and the car wasn t drivable. I turned around and told them. They tried to tell me it was my muffler. infuriated at this point because I knew it wasn t my muffler and they were trying to shove me out and not listen to me, I basically demanded that they fix it after the whole battery ordeal and after waiting 8 hours for tires and brakes.They told me I was out of power steering fluid. (Even though it wasn t low before so I don t know where they got that from.) Now my car brakes are seizing. I tried to give them a second chance but I no longer trust their work after everything that has happened. I don t recommend coming here.

DONT GO HERE IF YOUR A WOMAN! went in for an oil change and tire rotation before a big trip. tire rotation was free but my oil filter was $30? also sat in the lobby for 10 mins after my car was done because front desk lady was too busy watching the tv in the lobby and the other was on her phone. I was also told my serpentine belt was SEVERELY cracked. I looked, my boyfriend looked, my father looked, it s perfectly fine. Very upset with my stop and will probably never go to a mechanic again unless necessary because yall can t be trusted.

Have their work double checked. I got the wrong brake pads installed and they said that s not possible if you were able to drive that long. another shop gave me back the parts as proof and gave me a better price. The shop manager is quite rude. I had to ask for another possible solution so she would stop telling me this is somehow my fault. I m sure they ll respond to my comment trying to discredit me here as well.

I was visiting Athens, Ohio and picked up nails in my front and rear tires in a parking lot. I was referred to Mr. Tire and they got my tires patched and got me up and running in a very reasonable amount of time and I thought the repair bill was also quite reasonable

I gave a 4 star bc they tryed their best to fix my car but they needed my car for to long 11days and when i called in they said my car was done to come pick it up but it wasn't fixed its 45min drive to mr tire for me they needed a few days to get it all the way fixed and i really needed use car for appointments anyways thanks for tryin fix my car they did a good on the parts he fixed thanks.

They let me sit in the lobby for 1 1/2 hours, while they searched for a oil filter for my car, did not communicate with me that they didn t have one. They said they went to a place to get the filter but on their site it says they were out. Wasted my time when it could ve taken 5 minutes to say we do not have the parts available for the job. Communication is non existent.

Both rear tires had picked up screws. I needed to get to a medical appointment in Columbus and they brought me right in. Very nice and rotated the tires for free while checking the other 2 for issues.

We were out of town and had a tire blow out. They got us in and replaced the tire quickly! Under 30 minutes at their shop!!

Amanda quoted me for a $99 all wheel alignment so I had my wife take the car in. When she got home and realized she had been overcharged ($129.99) I called Amanda to work out a refund and she told me to call corporate, her hands were tied, and then hung up on me when I asked why the price changed. Very dishonest and rude. Go to Huddle Tire for alignments, great folk. Do not fall for the bait n switch pricing. Lesson learned.

They claimed everything looked great when they inspected my vehicle yet they wrote that my tires had 35psi in each tire when in fact I have one that's low at 29psi, 2 at 33psi and one at 35psi. They also marked all 8 on my breaks but how do you trust that when they didn't even actually check the tire pressure? Also they marked my tires as if they had good tread when they are 100% bald and getting changed next week. I also paid for a 10k mile oil change yet my sticker is showing I need an oil change is 6k miles. I won't be returning to this shop!Service: Oil change

Friendly, professional, and thorough - these folks have helped us with repairs and maintenance for our nonprofit organization's vehicles and have always been great about working with our schedule and insurance and answering all of our questions. Amanda is incredibly helpful and kind, and even said we should reach out to them when we need volunteers. A good shop and good neighbors.

We had our power steering go out in athens ohio on a trip from Mississippi. Everyone at mr. Tire in athens did a great job and were really helpful and courteous. We made it home safely thanks to them.

Could not be more disappointed. Got flat tire at a time where I needed all mine replaced anyway. Called ahead and asked about availability. Lady said the size of tires I needed was in stock, with a specific brand and model of tire I liked available, and the shop would be open until 5 today. She quoted me $797, more than $200 above what I could pay to order the exact tire (including installation) at the big blue store on the other end of town. But those weren't available today and I really needed them done, so I was willing to pay the extra for the sake of convenience, and agreed to do so. I drove 40 miles on my spare (in addition to the 40 needed to get home the night before) and arrived at 4:05 to find the place completely locked up. No note on the door. Had to drive yet another 40 miles back home on the spare because of it. That's already way too much. 120 miles on a spare and nothing to show for it. It's so frustrating because it's not like I just checked the hours and showed up, expecting service. I did my due diligence and called ahead. If there's a silver lining, it's that I was able to have my bad experience before paying the high price.

DO NOT GO HERE. First of all they said they had my oil filter in and I took my car there and they changed the oil (didn't even know what kind of oil it took) after they changed the oil the PUT THE OLD FILTER BACK IN because they didn't actually have the correct filter. I Then went to the Hyundai dealer and bought a filter. Took it back to Mr Tire and put it on. It was a $110 for a oil change even after I bought my own filter. The receipt has a charge for $67 for a filter (even after they put on the one I bought myself) I asked why it was so much for a oil change even when I brought my own filter. She said "it's comparable to other places in the area" when The Hyundai dealer is only $55 for a full synthetic oil change. I would never go back here and do not recommend it. They are ripping people off.

Amanda is wonderful! I needed a lot of work on my late model Nissan Murano. She was very kind and willing to work with me within my budget. She spoke with my old mechanic that's in another state to make sure I wasn't paying for maintenance that I didn't need.

Went there for an oil change which I got. Then was told I needed to install an unnecessary part ontop of being told other false information (after hearing a second opinion) when I only needed a ball joint. Was quoted $950 for all of these repairs when I was able to get the ball joint for $40 and paid $260 to get it fixed at Huddle Tires uptown. They lied about numerous things I needed done to my car. Two different mechanics looked over my car and disagreed completely with what they told me. Total scam. Won t be returning there again.

I'll start with the positive, the lady at the front desk, Amanda, was pleasant and polite. Apart from that I have nothing positive to say. I took my vehicle here for an oil change, they proceeded to tell me that their 'curtesy inspection' revealed some other needed work including a transmission fluid exchange and power steering fluid flush...they presented me with an estimate for over a $1K. Now, that alone wouldn't necessarily be shocking, the problem is, both a friend and coworker have also taken their vehicles here and were given similar totals (also over $1,000). Upon further comparison, we realized Mr.Tire was recommending nearly identical work for all three of our vehicles which seems suspicious given they are totally different vehicles, ages, and have vastly different mileage. Their labor charges are also well above the average $80-100/hour and since they bill per service, you can end up with over $500 in labor for about 2 hours of actual work. I do NOT recommend Mr. Tire.

* Review fromAthens Local* Place is a joke, 1) don t know what axle grease looks like on a car, 2) don t know how to service a transmission. They ll gladly put non cvt transmission fluid in your cvt transmission. Stay clear and go to dealer. Now I have $1000 to 5500 worth damage. Seeking legal council now. I m a Athens local listen when I say stay clear. Luckily I have a dash cam so this is going to get interesting.

THE BEST service in town! The front office staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the services offered, and the service staff have always explained to me any (re)calibrations made to my vehicle.

Do not do business with this location. They are ripping people off! The manager is suggesting things that need fixed that are not broken. She is suggesting oil changes when are not needed. Mechanics not checking their work once complete. Stay far away from this place if you care about your $ and your vehicle.

Amanda the manager is not good manager material and needs to be evaluated.I went in to question my 65,000 mile warranty on tires(Goodyear Assurance) that I purchased in 2020 and that only have 27,000 miles on them now in 2022.. I was told by my Subaru mechanic that my tread rating was 3/32. THAT IS BAD NEWS! I paid 900.00.She said it was because I did not rotate them every 3000 miles as stated by warranty and therefore the warranty was not applicable.. I said I was not aware of that stipulation. She said it is on the receipt. It was not. She then said she told me verbally. She then started "multitasking" and basically dismissing me instead of speaking to me directly about the issue and my options. When I asked her to do that, she threw her upper body and face in my direction as if mocking my request to give my questions full attention and vehemently said"WHAT IS YOUR QUESTION" "WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WANT" I said I wanted to know my option SShe YELLED YOU DON'T HAVE ANY OPTIONS" and waved me toward the door.She lost 2 customers. TIRE CHOICE ON EAST STAE STREET IS 5 STAR SERVICE.

DO NOT go to this place, unless you are looking for a cheap and easy oil change or tire fix I made an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation 2 weeks ago. The oil change was decent and inexpensive, except their courtesy inspection was carelessly done (I had a big antifreeze leak, which they never bothered to mention) and their invoice gave me no information about my tire pressures or helpful info about the tread condition.However, they refused to rotate my tires because they said I had a crack in the SWB frame and my undercarriage was too rusted away (keep in mind the vehicle I took had a lot less rust than my previous ones, which I ve had tire rotations done on before). After taking my car to another mechanic this morning, they said it looked fine aside from the antifreeze leak.Needless to say, I will never return to this shop again. Their mechanics are lazy and give untrustworthy advice.

Although staff was courteous, prices are NOT as quoted online, not even close. $99 difference for 2 tires. Grand total for 2 tires for a van $518.00 HIGHWAY ROBBERY at its finest! Tire price for each tire $173.96 ea the rest were BS charges! Ridiculous pricing! Didn't even put my spare tire back underneath the van. Asked about an oil change, was told it could be as much as $80.... smh never again! If you go here plan on spending A LOT more than ANY other place.

They were WONDERFUL! Amanda answered my call and got me right in. Came in for my wipers and it ended up just being a loose screw. They didn t even charge me for it and still did a full check on everything else. I can t say enough how fantastic they are here. Best auto spot in Athens!

Arrived and wanted an Oil Change and Tires rotated, I also need lawnmower tires mounted.Both men were professional, courteous and prompt.Done in less time than expected with great service. THANK YOU.I have to take this down to a 1 star, after the service we noticed some small oil spots in the driveway , as I looked under the hood the oil filter was loose, took 4 turns w my hand to tighten this.Called the store no apology, basically was told this was my fault and there would be no oil in my car had this happened. Well it did happen, after 15 , 20 years of going here as Appalachian Tire, now Mr.Tire, I will never return. On the phone with Corporate as we speak.2019 Impala, used no oil never had a leak until this!!!!!
