They were called to a crash for a tow. He got the car and then refused to take it to the body shop. He wanted it to go to his garage, I had to argue with him. He finally decided he would take it to his garage, then take it to the shop the next day. And the body shop was closer than his shop, it made no sense. They then charged $800!! Lucky for him the insurance paid it, I would not have!!!

Horrendously unprofessional. At no point was I informed what the cost would be of the tow. I was unhooked and was asked to stop to handle the bill. I simply asked to be billed and the guy (who claimed to be the owner) was horrendously unprofessional and down right rude about this. He demanded 535 dollars for 30 feet of towing or he'd take the RV I rented!!! I tried to talk to him and reason with him but he was talking under his breath to the officer like .. "yeah watch soon as he realizes I'll take his RV, he'll pay us. I would have sat and waited hours to deal with ANYONE else but this guy.Service: Car towing

The tail/brake/parking light on my trailer was not consistently working. Repair shops in my area referred me to trailer repair shops, but the trailer shops were not going to be able to look at it for about a month. I don't live in the area but was going to be visiting family who suggested I check with Bates. I called a few days in advance of my visit. They were able to fix it the day of my visit and for less than I would have paid for a ticket.Service: Electrical repair

Driver gives his opinion too much to the police which wasn't true! Did not look at my car like they had said after the accident. Super expensive! $185 to pull me out of a ditch that took 20 minutes at best! I would not recommend them to anyone!

First and last time I have and ever will deal with Bates. Requested a flat bed tow through Triple AAA to be towed to my mechanic in another city. Bates called and tried to offer that they look at it and I respect the fact that they wanted to drum up business for themselves. I declined and shortly later a tow truck arrived. 1st problem....not a flat bed. Front wheel drive so the car in its location would have to be drug before they could pull it from the front. Then Bates could not tow it due to Triple AAA will not tow expired tags. Which is not Bates fault.But......when we tell the driver we are not mad at him he simply shrugged his shoulders and says I don't care, you still get hit with a tow from Triple AAA and I get paid. Gets in the truck and that was that. Really professional and classy. I think this company needs to educate their drivers a little better with customer service. Considering you don't know who your potential customer is or they know.

Honestly one of the worst tow company s I ve ever heard of. They will price galge you and will hold your vehicles hostage for no reason at all. Any trucks out there, DO NOT call these guys. Expect them two double the highest bill possible right when your ready to leave and not release your truck or work in a timely way with your insurance company. Guys AVOID!!!

I waited a week to get my vehicle i to the dealer service department. I got it back days later unrepaired. Bates fixed the vehicle in one day at a very reasonable price. Thank you!!

Terrible towing service. I work a t a transmission shop, and the driver asked me where I wanted the customers vehicle put. I showed him a spot, and he said his truck was too big to put it there. Our entire side of the lot was open, so I said "if it doesn't move, I need it put in that spot". He told me it moves, and that he would push it in the spot himself. I told him that's fine, I asked him if he had customer info and he said he would give it to me in a minute. Long story short, this jerk, drops the Jeep in the middle of our lot blocking both of our bay doors, left the keys in the vehicle and high tailed it out of our lot. Best part, this vehicle is bound up, so we cant move it, and I have no customer information.

Can't say enough thanks to Bates Garage & Towing LLC. Fantastic people who care for the needs Ashland County and the people there! Would highly recommend them for your towing needs. Thanks for making Ashlee's 16th birthday a day to remember!

If we could give them a negative I would! Made us wait 40 mins to come then got here and didn t even do the job bec a Good Samaritan did it for us! Lazy ass man stood and watched made us pay any way when a call was attempted to cancel! Will never call them again

Highly recommend this place. If you need a tow, they service a much wider area than you might expect. If you need your vehicle serviced, they are a great place to go.

I felt taken advantage of during a accident I had. Charged $100 for a mile tow, it would have only cost $200 for 30 mile tow. Never again. Very impersonable also.

They use good parts but not friendly or personable. Only half profesional. Use the Ashland muffler house now. Great people
