Everything was very good, fair, honest, and straightforward. Love the fact that there was no funny business with the numbers. Consistent from beginning to the end. Chris Dawson was awesome and good call getting the car to your dealership even though I didn't ask ;)

Overall, this was a bad experience in my opinion. I was bringing my car in for an oil change. There were three additional things I wanted to have the service desk look at. I was told by the service desk that is would be $169 for each of the three items. When I met with another dealer after, they said it should be $169 total for all of the diagnostics.The first item to investigate was an air bubble on the touchscreen that had gotten bigger over the last six months (charged $169 for this investigation). I was told that the technical believed liquids had gotten behind the touch screen. I indicated that it happened over six months and was a small bubble, I was told they do not agree. I was quoted extra $$ to fix this. When I brought my car to another dealer, they indicated that they have seen this, but not very frequently. It was covered under warranty. The issue is documented on the internet.The second item to investigate was the passenger window that was going down when trying to roll it up (charged $169, but then removed this charge). Service department indicated that is looked like there was damage to the door and it was due to misuse. The car has not been in any accidents. Window issue would not be covered by warranty and was quoted additional $$ for this work. When I took my car to the other dealer, it was fixed by resetting the window settings and was covered under warranty.The third issue was a loud sound either engine or tires. I was told I would have to pay another $169 to have it reviewed. I declined this. Dealer indicated I needed new tires and that was the issue. I asked for depth of trend numbers, and they indicated the technician did not take those. I am planning to replace my tires but given the diagnosis on the other two issues I don t know if it is true or not and will need to get a second opinion.

the customer service I received was GREAT! From the door Brittany was kind, she explained the process and took time to gather my information even though I think it was close to closing time. She did not rush me at all. The service was super speedy! I thought my vehicle would need to be there for several days but it was assessed, fixed and returned to me in less then 24 hours! Everyone seemed nice and accommodating. The videos were very helpful in helping understand what was needed and why. I thought that helped me feel much better about what I was paying for. I LOVED how what was needed was prioritized as well. It let me know what was critical and what could maybe wait. That is HUGE for a divorced mother of 4 children. I am on a budget but I also want my kids and I to be safe and I didn't mind paying a little more.

Chris Nick and Aj made the whole process so easy and I did not stress one bit which I think we all know is shocking when going to any dealership. I was overly pleased with the way these guys here made the leasing process of my new Tiguan very easy. I would always recommend anyone to Chris at Volkswagen of Akron if I knew anyone was in the process of leasing/buying a new car.

I had to take my car in for a second recall on my 2015 VW. EVER.Y SINGLE. TIME. I have gone to this dealership, the next day or within a week, something goes wrong with my car. The first time this happened, I assumed it was a fluke, but this was the third time I've taken my car in and something else wrong popped up. Plus, they didn't even complete the original job correctly. My car horn and buttons on my steering wheel were NEVER reconnected after they replaced my airbag. How do I trust that the airbag was installed correctly now? Absolutely absurd.Seems like they were more concerned with taking a video and telling me what was else needed fixed verses reinstalling the new airbag and reconnecting the wires to my steering wheel correctly the first time. The customer service rep wasn't very friendly when I spoke with her on the phone about it. She hung up on me before I was finished speaking. Felt dismissive and rude. Afterwards, I took my car to a local shop and told them to take a look at the list VW told me was wrong with my car. 2/6 things on the list needed to be addressed. Do not recommend this dealership at all.

The Service Team at Akron VW did an exceptional job. I have not previously purchased or serviced my VW through Akron, however based upon my experience, I plan to do so in the future. My VW service took 5+ months due to a part being on back order. While I was very disappointed from any lack of follow-up from VW corporate, Volkswagen of Akron did an outstanding job keeping me updated on progress as well as provided a dealer loaner for an extended period. I am very grateful to the VW Service team - and a special shout out to Brittany for all her assistance.

Again, Volkswagen addressed the maintenance of my ID.4 with a minimal effort to amaze me with more services - an EV has no oil change, or filters to be replaced - and even changing to another VW dealer didn't make the difference.It took around 1h to check my car, no questions if I had concerns or comments, and I still have the door handle recall to be checked.

Update: I serviced my vehicle here again. This time I had a much better experience. With their new express service, I did not have to book an appointment, the wait time was not bad at all, and everyone seemed very friendly. I had a mail-in coupon but I was notified that the service was cheaper than the coupon. The only thing that would stop me from a 5 star review this time, is that I was expecting them to do a quick exterior wash after the service, but they didn t.Probably the worst experience so far in any dealership. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change with them, I had many options but thought I'd trust a Volkswagen Dealership Service for a Volkswagen Jetta 2019. They said a software update was ready as well, so they would do that too. After 2 hours, they said my car was ready, I started my car and the Check Engine light was On. I went back to notify them, they said they'll take a look. After spending hours, I had to go up to the desk and ask whats going on, and they tell me they dont know, they will have to run a diagnostic test and charge me for it as well as a separate work order. I literally came in for an oil change, was there from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. After paying $111.00 for an oil change, I'm walking out with a Check Engine light. They said they're not even available to check it right now. I had to schedule another appointment and will have to waste another day to come back so they can do a test. I have to work, study for school and take care of a child, and now have to spend two days of my week for this.

I usually love this service department. Despite getting us in quickly, this is the second time we've asked about squeaking breaks on a 2022 new car with no resolve. We came in before the 20k warranty was up to get the oil change and asked about the breaks. We were told no issue. We brought the car in earlier this week and an issue was found and confirmed and we were just told we needed new breaks and rotors that we'd have to pay for ourselves. This is not normal for a car of our age and mileage and I think we're all on the same page with that yet nobody found it concerning or has offered to help. We were told that perhaps the dealership where we bought the car (in Cleveland) could help us. Not sure why as a representative of VW that you wouldn't be more willing to work with us or how we were in for service a month or two ago and no issue was found and now all of a sudden there is one now that we're outside of warranty. Leaves an unfortunate taste in our mouths for both this service department as well as VW.

brendanb52Posting publiclyI have been taking my mother in law's car to Jay VW for 6 years. This is where the car was purchased. I have raved about their professionalism and service in the past. They have been a trusted caretaker of her car. Certainly I am of the belief that positive personal referrals and assessments have far more power than glossy mail advertising. I have offered those kind of glowing personal assessments whenever possible. Now? I am not sure what changed - ownership? Culture?My mother in law is in her 90's and uses her car only for local trips to supermarket or doctor's appointments. Her car broke down and needed a new radiator. When all is said and done - Jay VW estimated replacement for $1500 plus. I asked to speak to the decision-maker (assume service manager?) who might be able to do something on price. I was left on hold for 15 minutes, never spoke to this decision-maker, and was simply relayed the message that little could be done. Just down the street a highly rated specialty shop (in radiators) said they would do the work for $650. The positive assessments and referrals Jay VW will now stop and we will bring her car elsewhere. This is such a disappointment as we really enjoyed our relationship with them over the years.

Ordered a headlight for my 2017 Alltrack, waited a few months, unfortunate circumstance, but with supply chains the way they are, understandable. When I received my $950 headlight, it had silicone oozing out where the lens meets the housing, along with silicone smeared all over the lens, the chrome pieces inside have scratches on them. It almost looks like it is used. When I picked up this unit, I checked the tabs to make sure they weren't broken and that the lens wasn't cracked, it did not dawn on me I needed to do a quality control check of their workmanship. It wasn't until I got the unit in my garage under shop lights when I noticed the defects. Upon review of their return policy, a 50% restocking fee is part of their policy. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed, please be weary and check over your parts for lazy workmanship from the factory, times are strange and things are being pushed through without meeting prior expectations of quality. It's hard to capture in a picture, but I've included the defects the best I can.

I had an amazing experience getting unto another SUV. I felt like I was heard and cared for without any pressure to make a decision which is really important for a woman. The features and the price were both right for me. I had nothing to stress about during this whole process as if everything was taken care of for me without me lifting a finger This amazing person really went above and beyond for me for that I m happy and grateful. When I called to schedule my appointment for an oil change, tire rotation and 50k/60k mile checkup I asked if all of the work could be completed in one day since I only had access to another vehicle for one day and I was told yes. After getting the evaluation and accepting the work that was required I heard nothing else from the dealership so I went to pickup my vehicle that evening. When I arrived I was informed that a part was to be delivered the following day and I could pick it up then. Again no prior warning of this issue. I then had to scramble to find someone to drive me to work and pick me up as well as someone else to take me to pickup my vehicle before 6pm. I picked up my vehicle and after having it for two days it had not received a courtesy wash. Every time I have had my vehicle serviced at this location there has always been some issue. Once I was told the calibers needed cleaned or replaced and I authorized the work but when I picked the vehicle up I found out that maintenance issue had not been done because the tech had left for the day. After an oil change warning lights appeared on the dash I called and was told that the tech forgot to reset the system. I asked what had to be done as I could press the appropriate buttons and was told it required more detail then that and would need to bring the vehicle back in. So at my inconvenience I drive to the dealership pull into the garage and while watching from the waiting area the tech opens my driver's side door pressed a couple buttons closes the door and walks away. He never sat in the car. I was then told everything was fixed and I could back out of the garage and go on with my day. What a waste of my time when I could have done the same thing from inside my own garage but I'm not a tech so I must be to ignorant to press a few buttons. This is the closest dealership for me to obtain VW service and replacement parts and I wish it wasn't.

I had an outstanding experience with Chris and AJ. They were both so patient with me when I had a lot of questions and worked out many scenarios to figure out what was best to fit my needs. They went above and beyond in every step of the process. When I came back to pick up the vehicle, AJ already had it ready to go- I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. 5-star service throughout my entire experience. I have purchased many VWs at this point, but this was my first experience with VW of Akron- you have undoubtedly earned a long-term customer. Communication and professionalism were top-notch. Thanks for everything!

Horrible, I hate this location with a passion.When Darnell and The black girl Brittney was there, I really couldn't stand them.Today I went in there to get a tire and The WHITE GIRL BRITTNEY refused to service my car and I wasn't even coming for service.Totally rude, all in my business about something else about my vehicle.They let me drive away on a flat, didn't offer to put my spare on, but BRITTNEY claims that she was concerned about the vehicles safety.If she was so concerned then she should have not let me drive off like that.I pay way too much money to be mistreated.Then I spoke to Paul Columbia, he also was all in my business suggesting this and that and didn't acknowledge that I was coming there for a tire either.Not appreciated at all and I will report this

Great Service & Friendly help! I enjoyed the video of what was done to my car and what I needed to have on my RADAR for the future.It's real interesting on how to get there because the main street is a one way and if you're NOT from Akron, it gets confusing fast! Yet, it's Worth the visit!!

Would definitely recommend them!!! I had a nail in my tire. They fixed it. I was in and out within 30 minutes. They did a phenomenal job!! Staff is very friendly and professional. I would highly go back for car service!! I ended up going back and getting a new car last month. I worked with Ammar, he made the whole process so easy. I had a great experience. he was knowledgeable , respectful, trustworthy, and direct. I will be going to him for all my car needs. Thank you Volkswagen!!

I had an excellent car buying experience at the VW of Akron. Chris, my sales advisor, was patient and extremely helpful throughout the process. Nick was friendly and transparent in his interactions, which I appreciated. Aundre did a great job explaining the finance and warranty options in a thorough manner. I would definitely return for another purchase in the future. Overall, a 5-star experience!

I had an excellent experience at Volkswagen of Akron. I want to emphasize how impressed I was with the level exceptional level of professionalism and service that I received. Aundre is a great communicator; he was patient, always responsive and answered all questions without hesitation. He and AJ worked together to ensure that both my husband and I were extremely happy with our car leases.The dealership went above and beyond to make our experience as easy and seamless as possible. Aundre and Earl even took the time to help me transport both of our leased vehicles to our home. The team worked together to get me exactly what I wanted while making the whole process extremely enjoyable throughout! UPDATE: Darnell called me back the next week. He was away from the office, so that's why I didn't get a call back. He offered to valet my car into the shop and take a look at it free of charge. Darnell seems to be running a good shop. However, my previous experience was still very bad. Updated to 3 stars.Emily in service was helpful in client intake and discussing the estimate with me. However, VW of Akron gets two stars because my AC did not work once I left the shop with my car (AC worked before going in), and the service department ignored me once I reported the issue. I called Darnell (service manager) multiple times and he never called me back. It's extremely poor form to ghost your customers. I'm not coming back to VW of Akron.

I came to Akron for repairs because Kempthorn in Canton could not get me in for 3 weeks despite my car shutting off randomly. Everyone was efficient and nice. You got me in the same week and explained everything along the way. You have the wonderful videos of the repairs and the text messages are great.

It took a while but its because I agreed to some of the recommendations made in the video sent to me! I chose to stay but honestly, I didn't need to because the woman at the front desk is lovely and quick to answer! The video makes it easy to make decisions about your car without being there. Good experience! The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because the parts that screw on to my wheel were forgotten and I had to reach out to get them shipped back to me, which they did no problem!

My trip to your Akron VW dealership came about from a warning light that appeared on my 22 VS Taos SEL while on a road trip east from Michigan. Your service staff identified the issue and got me right in for service. I was back on the road in about an hour. Emily, in the service department was outstanding- kind!, knowledgeable, professional from beginning to end. Absolutely excellent service. If I lived in the area I would definitely be buying and servicing my vehicles with your dealership. Thank you!

We had work done on our 2018 Alltrack, the sunroof tubes with kinked during the manufacturing process. We understand that this is not uncommon. We waited a very long time for the parts, not the dealer issue at all. The parts came in and the dealer replaced all of the parts including the new drain tubes, carpeting and headliner. The work looked great, done in a very professional manor. A few weeks following the completion of the work, the sunroof started leaking again so we brought it back to the dealer. They diagnosed the problem as the tubes were blocked again and that it was now our fault because we did not perform the proper maintenance to ensure that the drainage tubes did not leak. I asked what the scheduled maintenance time was and they indicated 20,000 miles. The car had approximately 400 miles on it since everything had been replaced. Maybe my math is wrong but 400 miles is a lot less than 20,000 miles. We took the car home and replicated the test that the dealer performed to determine that the drainage tubes were clogged and confirmed what they found. I inspected the 1-way valves at the end of the tubes and got covered in grease and grime as it gushed out of the tube. The tubes were filling with water and flowing into the sunroof because the system was not properly flushed when fixed in my opinion but what do I know I'm just a worthless customer.I have reached out to the dealership, to the owner of the dealership and no reply, just crickets. I have filed a complaint with VW USA (that's what they told me to do if I had a problem). Pretty sad because this dealership did some really good repair work for us prior to this incident. A case has been opened, will see what happens but I'm not holding my breath. They owner of this dealership is the Jay Auto Group. As I noted, they have not reached out to me either.

I walked into VW of Akron expecting the same overwhelming sales pitches, not being taken seriously as a woman, and lack of regard for what actual needs I had when looking for a vehicle. I was thoroughly impressed from the moment I walked in the door. Earl was welcoming and got me set up with Ammar. Ammar listened to my unique situation, was informative and incredibly down to earth and helpful. He helped to get me out of my Honda lease and into not one, but two Volkswagens that day. The process was easy, enjoyable, and I didn't doubt my decision for a second with them. Financing was easy, Ammar made sure we had the best options, and the warranties and coverage are top notch. I made the mistake of switching from Volkswagen to Honda with my previous lease, but I will be staying with Volkswagen products going forward. All of my future leases and purchases will be through Volkswagen of Akron. Thank you all again for all of your help!

Everyone at Volkswagen Akron was very friendly & welcoming! Earl really took the time to listen to us & help our family find the right fit. We went to the dealership wanting an SUV (with 2 small kids) but after test driving the different models we could not decide. Earl & Ammar asked us what the most important features on a vehicle are? My husband & I then test drove a Passat & it was perfect! Thank you so much!!
