It s a not even a good spot if you need to stay in Tioga. First no internet or if there is very very slow and poor. Second the bar is only cash if there even opened. Third breakfast is always over cooked and also who serves mashed potatoes and gravy for breakfast?A lot of the rooms have broken or very poorly and smelly dishwasher.!!NO HOUSE KEEPING!!5$ to do Landry like I get this one but every hotel known to man charges 4$ why do you have to be different?Last but not least the elevator only works when it wants too

This is an update to a previous review. This hotel has nice rooms but does not meet industry standards. The front desk staff regularly said my room number out loud or asked me for it, with other people in the lobby. This is a huge security risk. Especially to a young woman staying in a majority male patronized hotel. It is industry standard to never divulge room information out loud or to parties not named in the reservation. My boss booked the room under his name but we were not asked to verify that when we checked in either. During my stay I got notes asking who was staying in the room. I went down 3 times to get it sorted out but the night audit kept putting them up. On the back of one note they wrote my boss s name on it so anyone who was curious would have seen it. Again, a major security concern. It took 13 days to get my room cleaned for the first time after asking 3 times using various routes; phone, at the front desk, and to the housekeeping manager. Eventually I got so frustrated, I left a review on google hoping to get noticed. The review got the attention of the general manager and a member of the kitchen staff came by and she did a good job. I was personally apologized to by the general manager, and the housekeeping manager. They explained that they were short staffed. The next week, I phoned on a Friday to ask for a cleaning on the following Monday hoping that this would be enough advanced notice. Monday passed with no housekeeping, even after the whole ordeal the week before. I didn't see housekeeping again for the rest of my 3.5 week stay. The hallways and lobby were cleaned daily. The day I checked out, my co-worker checked out early and asked for the receipts for both of our rooms. This left the impression that I was also being checked out with the front desk and housekeeping came to my room at 9:15 am to get the room cleaned for the next people. I was about to step into the shower. The housekeeping system in place is failing. One housekeeping visit out of 23 days is not the result of short staffing, it is a system that needs improvement. The number of people purchasing and using their own garbage bags and leaving them outside their doors, making the hallways stink, tells me that other people are also experiencing this level of attention. My coworker also only saw housekeeping once during the 3.5 weeks and never received maintenance to replace 2 burnt out bulbs in her room. Housekeeping also left her room door open while she was gone but she never received housekeeping. Again, a significant security risk. The day I checked in, I asked to have someone come fix the stripped knobs on my kitchen stovetop, this never happened.Breakfast was reliably open at 5 am and was consistent in quality, which I appreciated.I would like to see reusable dishware used at the hotel instead of paper plates and plastic forks.

We stayed in this hotel after driving over 10 hours for a family emergency. We were very clear that we did not know how long we would stay, and we were told it wouldn t be an issue. The following day, we knew how long we would be staying and advised the hotel staff as such. We were told it wasn t a problem as there was plenty of rooms available. The following day, housekeeping entered our room with out knocking and most certainly without permission. We then received a phone call from hotel staff that we needed to leave as they were full for the weekend. Mind you, this completely contradicts what they told us previously. We were told we would have to move to the Stanley location as they have rooms available. I advised the staff that was unacceptable as our family is in Tioga and we must be within a minutes drive (staying in Tioga was an absolute must). We ended up having to frantically look for a new place to stay.Upon checking out, there were other individuals in the lobby who were experiencing the same situation where they were fully paid for the duration of their stay only to have a phone call from hotel staff telling them they had to leave. These people, like us, we re frantically looking for a new place to stay with only minutes notice:We later found out there was a corporate event booked and this was the reason people were being kicked out.

Rooms big and comfortable, but service needs improvement. The rooms are big and modern looking. My 2 queen bed room came with:Kitchen: microwave with removable oven rack, toaster, coffee maker, pitcher, colander, liquid measuring cup, ice bucket, full fridge with freezer, cook top, dishwasher, garburator, cookware (pot, pan, cooking spoon, slotted spoon, spatula), a can opener, 2 people worth of cutlery, mugs, cups, and flatware, and 1 steak knife. I also had dishwasher soap, dish soap, paper towel, and a dish brush.Large L Desk: Lamp, 2 dining chairs, 1 office chair, corkboard with 4 tacks. 4 outlets available. Lamp outlets don't work.Living space: Large flatscreen, closet with hangers, wardrobe, armchair. Outlets in lamps near bedside table don't work, wall ones available but awkward for your phone.Problems:I am 1.5 weeks into my stay of 1 month. My room's hot plate knobs were stripped so they were difficult/impossible to turn on. I put in a maintenance request when I arrived and so far nothing has been done nor updates given.Housekeeping is supposed to come once a week and you have to request additional housekeeping. I was not told about having to request housekeeping when I checked in. I have made 3 requests, (one of which was directly to the manager, and another with a member of housekeeping staff present) and nobody has come by. I have had to get toilet paper, tissues, and dishwasher soap from the front desk within the first 3 days of my stay because no extras were given upon check-in. I've had to leave my full garbage bags outside my door because the cleaning staff doesn't come around often enough to keep up with the small garbage can size. I don't have extra garbage bags in my room either. I appreciate less housekeeping during long stays but it would be nice to have a set schedule (Monday is floor 1, Tuesday is floor 2, etc.), a "housekeeping please" door sign, and enough supplies to last the week.I am also being asked to come to the front desk to sort out the name on my room. The booking was made by a coworker and the name on the room didn't match me, the occupant. So far I have gone to the front desk 3 times to fix it and am still getting notes daily.I am a frequent traveller and this is the most frustrating hotel stay I've had.Breakfast is 5 am-9 am daily. It is not always restocked if you go around 8 or later. Things like jams, yogurt, milk, coffee, tea, and margarine are available after hours which I appreciate. The hot food consists of powdered eggs, meat (bacon/sausage), waffles, and biscuits and gravy. Pastries, bagels, cereal and apples are also available. I would like to see reusable dishware used at the hotel instead of paper plates and plastic forks. There also seems to be a bar and restaurant available in the same room in the evenings but I haven't tried either service. The gym has a bench, treadmills, and free-weights.The business center printer can only print 2 pages before leaving unprinted strips of white down the middle. The hotel doesn't have a pool. The grocery store and gas station nearby are well stocked and have good variety.Internet is fast but kicks you out a few times a day, which is annoying for a long stay hotel. Luckily you don't need a password to get back in every time.

The Mainstay Tioga is a very nice hotel. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and immaculate. The head housekeeper, Taffi, was very accommodating and her attention to detail in the room she prepared for me was impressive. Courtney at the front desk was very pleasant and extremely helpful in finding me a room even though they were booked and in a very timely manner. They made it happen and it was greatly appreciated! These ladies made my stay and I ll certainly stay here again.

Many thanks to the Mainstay in Tioga. The staff were notably friendly, the room was spacious, and had a real fridge with separate freezer compartment, a cooktop, very large and powerful microwave, and even a dish washer. I wish the room had a "do not disturb sign", but one could likely have been obtained from the front desk. Overall, about as nice a stay as I've had anywhere.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I was very happy with our room. Very clean. The restaurant and bar and breakfast area were very inviting and comfortable. I was disappointed the juice bar wasn't open 24 hours. I asked the desk clerk and she was very nice and turned it on so I could have some. Awesome customer service. Will definitely stay the next time I visit my nephew. I highly recommend this hotel.

The entire staff was rude and unhelpful. I reserved rooms for three nights and was trippled charged for my stay. The general manager was unavailable to resolve this issue. Housekeeping did not replace any towels during my stay. I had to call the host to ensure towels were available for exchange. I would not recommend anyone to this particular hotel. The shower took a minimum of 30 minutes for the water to be warm enough to use and does not contain a bathtub.

I loved the spacious design of the room and the facility. Perfectly clean with a superbly attentive and personable staff. I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in the Tioga area. Also great for a peaceful and quiet break from the city when traveling through on Highway 2. Pet friendly as well.

The staff was great. Room clean, accepted our cat. But above all Joni who worked desk, went above and beyond. We were relocating out of state and while on the road, realized I left my Mother ring on bathroom counter. She went to room, found the ring and mailed to me. I couldn't believe it when it showed up in mail. That is something rare., but then again it is Tioga and I should have expected nothing less. Would totally recommend.

Let's face it. Your probably here because you are some oil and gas contractor because there is no other reason to go to Tioga. Overall it's pretty good but don't expect the finest service. The breakfast is every thing you would expect from a free hotel breakfast. The room is clean and the staff is friendly. Overall good but nothing special.

What a nice hotel! Staff was very friendly, hotel is clean and modern. Rooms all have kitchenettes with full size fridge and stovetop. Direct TV is a big bonus as well. Pirates Cove restaurant has good food and good sized portions. The hotel has 2 BBQS out back for guests to use. They also have your typical hotel breakfast in the morning. All and all this is my new favorite hotel in the Tioga area!

The room smelled really bad. When my husband went to use the bathroom we discovered why. There was poo in the toilet. Shower was filthy as well leftover hair from whoever stayed previously and soap scum. Pillows felt more like a throw pillow than a bed pillow. Other than those few things the room was cozy.

The hotel is fairly nice no complaints there. They have no hot tub or pool which isn't the end of the world but a deal breaker for me. So I let the water run in the shower thinking it needs to get to the 4th floor. Well water never got hot and I like to be clean. I roughed the cold shower and went to the front desk with my concern.THEYRE aware that theres an issue with the hot water and they rented me a room anyway knowing I would have issues with hot water. They've had several complaints about hot water I was told and it hasn't been dealt with

Mainstay is the best place to stay in Stanley probably. And so I'm not sure if I'm supposed to grade them versus other versus places in the city...anyways I guess the biggest complaint is all the bird poop for the front of the building. The lady said that they're getting spikes to keep the birds from Landing there all the time so maybe it's better by now.

Rooms are quite clean and staff is friendly. I wish they would put something up under their atrium at their entryway to prevent pigeons from pooping on me and my truck.Edit: changed score down to 2 now that I have been pooped on my head AGAIN in their entryway....they really need to fix this

For being Tioga, it is quite nice. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Suites meet all your needs. The hotel shows it's age a bit, loose door handles, thin towels, and such.
