They were able to diagnose the problem and get it fixed relatively quick.One of the parts was defective but they warrantied the part and the labor to replace it, which I was grateful for!

I broke down just east of Minot on my way to Canada. Everyone I called was booked solid for weeks. Even Smitty s said that they were booked for 5 weeks. When I explained to them what was happening and that I had been on the side of the highway for 12 hours and I was on my way home to Canada they told me to bring it in. They said if it was an easy fix they would fit me in and if it was the transmission like I thought then they couldn t help me. They not only got me on my way but stayed open late on a Friday to help me. Bob, Derek and Tommy are wonderful and if I ever break down in North Dakota again I wouldn t hesitate to go back to Smitty s. I definitely recommend them for your repairs.

Purchased a 08 acadia and 4 months later my engine failed had it towed in to smittys. Since everything was apart i had them rebuild my transmission too. 1 year later this shop had no problem replacing parts with new but, put back in old 200k Mile oil pressure sensor and it did blow and lost all my oil in new reman engine put back in 200k fuel injectors only few hundred bucks to replace now have to tear back out the whole top I take to replace due to pressure loss. My transmission seems to be doing fine but, has a clunk sound at idle. And I'm unable to get my 250.00 back because there checks don't show up. 1 year later they still owe me 250 for new alternator than failed shortly after because they reused old idler pully. Some sloppy work if I have to say anything. Cost me now more than 7kService: Engine repair

These people helped me as much as I could. I had a problem with the e brakes and parts fell all over the drum destroying other components. Even though I didn't have an appointment, they still looked at my truck. All other garage just didn't have time for my business. I had warranty work done (which I thought was the worst experience I've ever seen.) They were able to complete the whole repair at a really good price. Definitely will tell others to go here again. Great service and great people. (Included pictures of the parts that needed to be replaced.)

I got quoted $130 from tires plus to remove a license plate because the screws were rusted on. I went to smitty's instead and they got them off for me within minutes and didn't charge me anything. Made an appointment to have transmission issues looked at, was told I would get a phone call with initial diagnostics and go from there... waited a week and no call, called them and was told they looked at it the day before and the day before that, figured out it had some faulty internal switch and they ordered a new one (I didn t authorize any repairs). I simply said okay because I wanted my vehicle fixed and it didn t sound too expensive. Waited another week, no phone call so I called again. They told me they ve been short handed and haven t had time to take it on it s 3rd test drive, also they went to start it on this day and it wouldn t start due to low batteries, so he asked me if I ve been having starting issues, witch I ve never had any issues! So they were going to get it in the shop and charge up the batteries and take it on it s 3rd and final test drive and get back to me by the end of the day. Not only did the not call me that day (a Thursday) I waited until Tuesday the next week to call them, yet again I initiated the call. They said yep I just came across your card, it s good to go... and I m like okay? What was all done to it? He replied that the internal switch was replaced and it was good to go. I asked about the starting issue, he had no idea what I was talking about and went and asked the mechanic, told me that they would get it in first thing the next day and get that checked out. Waited until the afternoon and I called them yet again, and they were going to get to it in the next half hour... finally they called me like they said they would and it needs batteries. Told them I would replace them myself, paid my bill and took my vehicle home. Only to find out now my parking lights don t work!!! Checked all my fuses and relays but now I have this new issue!!! So don t with this place and would not recommend any of my friends or family to this repair shop.Service: Transmission

Good honest people work there. I've had many problems with other mechanics giving my car back with new problems, but these guys got my car in tip-top shape in no time. Prices are quite reasonable too. I'm definitely taking my car there when I'm in Minot again.
