Omg! So I ordered the whiskey steak with a baked potato and a side salad with Blue cheese. My husband got the big rig burger with onions rings. We got the cheese curds for appetizer. Let me just tell you, it is so hard to find someone to cook my steak perfectly but they nailed it! The potato was cooked well and the salad was so fresh. The Bleu cheese was chunky and tasty. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger and couldn't finish his fries but we made room for the peanut butter and chocolate cake. It was delicious! If you are ever in Minot, ND, please come by and try their food! The portions are huge and the food is great.

This was my first time here. Decided to take a seat at the counter (near the entrance of the restaurant). This apparently was a bad choice, as all I could hear was the kitchen staff being obnoxiously loud talking about "lot lizards" . Not really something that should be a topic of discussion at a I guess family restaurant. On top of that, I simply ordered a piece of pie, a coffee and a glass of water.I was pretty much done with the pie, and still didn't have the coffee brought to me(she forgot it on the counter). Then several minutes later, she asked if there was anything else I needed....yes,the glass of water I also ordered 20 minutes ago. That too was sitting on the counter, which also was forgotten about. The place wasn't even busy last night. I'll simply say, the pie was delicious, but that's pretty much all I've got to say. Cool place to stop, just need to control the kids in being a little more discreet .

First of all, the food was good and the server did well for the most part. The omelette I ordered was $12 and it doesn t come with hash browns. Those are $2.29 extra and only about 2/3 of a portion. I asked for some salsa and was told it comes in a small container. I assumed, my fault, that it was the little plastic containers that I get at every other restaurant. Every other restaurant they are complimentary like the little containers of jelly to put on the toast. Nope Giant bowls of it that cost me $5. Speaking of jelly, none was available. Nor was salt and pepper. Hate to imagine how much extra that would have cost. All together, an omelette, hash browns and coffee with tip set me back nearly $30.Additionally I would like to add that the glass of water I received tasted terrible.Final nail, they are not open 24 hours as advertised. Restaurant opens at 6:00. I needed to have my food on my table by 6:00 so I didn t have to eat it like a famished dog so I could be on time for my delivery appointment. Would have been nice to eat it slow and enjoy it because, like I said, it was good.Everything here was clean and the people were friendly.

Friendly service and delicious food in a convenient location whether you're local or just driving through. Stopped in for breakfast while my car was being serviced nearby. I sat myself and was quickly greeted by a server. They have full menu with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options as well as various pies and cakes by the slice (or whole!). I got the two-egg omelette with ham and cheese and a side of hash browns. Food arrived quickly. Everything was hot and fresh and really tasty! Omelette had plenty of filling and the hash browns were some of the best I've had, crispy on top, cooked thru, and not greasy! Only negative was the coffee, it was watery but probably not an issue to many. Prices are fair for the portions and the area.Pay at the counter.

Not much I can really say. I grew up in the Minot area, and Schatz has been a mainstay in my life for at least 40 plus years. Now that I ve long moved away; I still make it a point to stop EVERY time I visit the area. Today was no different. Walked right in and it s just like visiting an old friend ! The food, the service everything JUST as I ve always known it to be.Congrats and thank you to not only the Schatz family, but to every amazing employee over the years for always bringing the taste and feel of home everytime I come back! See you all next visit and keep up the great work!!!

I feel like when paying $13 for a shower this is not how it should look. This was my second time here and the first time it was somewhat clean but this time was awful. Hair in the shower, the toilet not clean. Toothpaste in the sink. I brought my own towels but there was black hair stuck to the towels as well. I was a housekeeper once at a truck stop and the job isn t hard at all. The floor felt like I was walking on sandpaper so I knew that wasn t clean. I told the lady at the front desk and she just said okay. Didn t hear a I'm sorry or anything. This was Thursday evening July 27th at around 7:30pm. I would of went down and got a different one but I shouldn t have to do that as I wouldn t expect any other shower to be clean with that kid who was working. Whoever y all have hired there for house keepers need more training.

We always stop here for Breakfast. #99 for my husband and a Haystack for me. I can never finish it. Hot and great tasting as usual. Oh and the staff is nice. We never have room for pie, but their selection is huge.

Went in for dinner about 4:30pm, only myself and 2 other customers in the horseshoe area, waited 15-20 minutes for drink order. Watched server eating out of a bowl and texting on her phone in the servers station the entire time. Finally ordered food after she remembered my water. Brought my salad with my meal and even said "I know, I'm sorry, I'm bringing everything out at the same time", food was already cold and walked away back to her phone in the servers station. Marrie, it angered me to tip you $5 but my daughter is a server so I feel I must tip all servers regardless of service. Please hide yourself while eating, texting and not noticing your customers. I know you said you were fixing a soda machine but I had a clear view of you the entire time. Please try to do better. You should get what you need to survive but I should get what I pay for. Good luck and we'll try again next time I'm back.

If you want rubbery hamburger and soup that tastes like water, this is the place for you. One more benefit is rude staff that doesn't follow health codes.Edit: The food is much better than a few months ago. The soup was excellent! My omelette was delicious! Staff was also kind and the place was clean.

They were just a little past done(what I ordered) came out hot, nice n crunchy just delicious. Oh and the waitress was super polite, quick witted and didn't miss a beat. Thank you...I highly recommendKid-friendliness: Staff is usually pretty polite two children and their waitresses seem to be comfortable with kids the interaction is usually pretty smooth

When it comes to Schatz, it's true that life's hustle can keep you away, but when you crave a hearty meal without breaking the bank, especially for breakfast, it becomes a tempting stop. It may not be a culinary masterpiece, but what keeps drawing me back is the incredible value it offers. In my experience, the servers here have consistently been welcoming and efficient, which adds to the overall positive vibe. And as for the bathrooms, well, they are surprisingly well-maintained, considering the setting of a truckstop. Now, the waiting times can occasionally test your patience, especially on a bustling Sunday lunchtime. But that's almost like waiting for a coveted class registration or the perfect nail polish shade, isn't it (I am a nail technician by day and college student by night? Sometimes, good things are worth the wait.In a way, Schatz Cross Road Truckstop embodies that charming Midwest Homie feel it's like finding a gem amidst the hustle and bustle of college life. So, if you're in the mood for a hearty meal that doesn't pinch your wallet and you don't mind a bit of wait, this place has the right vibe. It's almost like the dependable textbook you turn to when you need some essential knowledge during your business administration studies.Have you encountered any other hidden culinary gems during your travels or studies that remind you of this unique Midwestern experience?

BEWARE!!! Fries are not included with purchase of burgers. I've never been to an establishment where fries were not included. This establishment charged me an extra $3 for them. The menu shows burger fries I nor does it say it's excluded. Near the bottom the prices of sides are shown. I feel that was a cheap money grabbing move. The pie was warm and had the consistency of pudding the cream was making a pool of itself to the side. I do not recommend.

Pay your employees more. Having to post a sign at the entrance. Saying sorry we don't pay our employees a livable wage is pretty disgusting. "The whole world is short staffed. Please be kind to those who showed up. Be Patient Smile...

This spot in general has a good vibe. Restaurant has cool layout with two dining areas - one has an awesome 360 around counter. Food was excellent and the staff are friendly. As just a wandering trucker from the Canadian east I really appreciated the nice truck parking area with angled spots and not all filled up with locals using it like their home terminal. The Blue Beacon right next door got my trailer cleaned up nice, Crossroads restaurant was great food and experience, the convenience store is five stars too, clean washrooms and good truck parking.. Look forward to coming back.

The food is always fantastic and home cooked. Great variety and all day breakfast. The gas center also serves all vehicle types big rigs to small cars. Has a truck wash and parts and service nearby. Its locally owned and operated for decades.

Recently stopped for a hot roast beef sandwich. The beef was dried out and cut thin, the gravy wasn't beef but a cream gravy without any flavor, but the mashed potatoes were okay. The temperature was slightly warm. Another member of our party had the borscht soup that was okay.

Gas: . Convenience store: . But let s get down to what we re really here to talk about: the food at this Truck Stop. People are going to tell you, GET THE NUMBER 99 IT S AMAZING. And is the #99 a wonderful breakfast concoction of diced ham and eggs and cheese and the BEST HASHBROWNS this side of the Mississippi? Yes. But here s something you need to know: get the secretly more delicious #108. It s cranked up those 9 notches because the ham is replaced with BACON. Nuf said. Now convince your friend you re with to split the legendary caramel roll as an appetizer, and you ve got a *chef s kiss* meal headed your way.

This review isn t for food, the food is good. This review is because at 1:30pm half the restaurant was closed and and someone was sweeping and someone was resetting tables. We sat down and waited for 15 min and didn t get menus or a hello. I understand bad days but this isn t the first time we had that long of a wait, it is the first time we have gotten up and ate somewhere else.

I had a gentleman this morning. It was obvious I was not his table and he didn't know where my waitress was. He immediately got my drinks! Waitress still want there, so do took my order, and delivered it faster than I expected! I'm not trying to dis the server I was SUPPOSED to have! This guy stepped up when he saw he was needed! Server's get overwhelmed and he just stepped in and did great!
