These guys are the best! Known to be honest and not ever tries to over charge on parts and/or labor. They are not the cheapest service shop in the area but you get what you pay for. They also offer a military discount with is hugely appreciated. Great shop, great service!

No one in town was willing to do an alignment for a vehicle that has been lifted....except for Braatens! Car went in the shop driving like a cow on skates and came out perfect! 10/10 thanks guys!

10/10 recommend! My friend had given an outstanding review so I figured I would at least get a quote. They quoted what I figured and got to work. Within two days of getting parts it was done! It wasn t an easy job. They repeatedly attempted to get the alternator to act up (because I asked since it wasn t charging for me every time.) it worked every time so they decided not to change it. Makes sense not to change what s not broken. I went to pick it up and within 10 minutes it quit. They got it fixed the next day. They went above and beyond and they will forever have my business!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement

These guys are awesome! Drove in from Canada to Grand Forks to stay for a couple of days. Just as we got into the city, we had a vehicle issue. Called Braaten's Auto after doing a Google search for a reliable auto repair, spoke with Kevin and explained my situation. I knew it was going to be tough if not impossible getting into a garage on short notice, but Kevin assured me they'd scan the car at the very least and inform us if any issue came up. Well we got there and not only did they do what he said he would, they also went above and beyond to make sure they covered and took care of the issues there were or might have been. We overheard the discussions from the employees regarding our vehicle and others in the shop from the waiting area and I'll tell you these guys care about the work they do and their customers. They took care of our situation and we appreciated it immensely! Excellent garage and awesome guys that work here!

They tried to upsell me with a new lower ball joint and outer tie rod, but a more honest shop said it was fine when another shop checked it. It was in for an oil change only. They also did not grease any of my suspension and steering parts so it s causing them to wear out faster. But they at least take the $10 off coupon from The Best of Grand Forks coupon book.

SO impressed with this shop! We just moved here literally three days ago and woke up this morning to our truck severely leaking oil. Had a few recommendations to Braatens, called the shop and was told to drop the truck off anytime but that it probably wouldn t be done until next week (completely understandable with Christmas this weekend!). We dropped the truck off before noon and got a call within the next hour that the leak would be fixed the same day! Tyler knew right away what was causing the leak, and gave us a very fair price, along with a military discount. Super super pleased with our experience here, and would absolutely recommend! So happy to have found our new mechanic!

Great service. Scheduled an appointment online, and they got what I asked for done in 4 hours. I would recommend to anyone that doesn't want dealership premiums, but professional work done at reasonable prices.

First of all they have a shop dog! The best well behaved cutest labradoodle ever! The service here is amazing and quick. I called on a Thursday for a Friday apt with broken headlights.(Replaced multiple times in the last year) they got me in right away Friday morning and had my car finished in less than 4 hours, turned out to be an electrical issue. Pricing is very fair and straightforward detailed even before the service was started. Great communication throughout. Very comfortable lounging area. Oh and they Generously fixed my hanging bumper. I have never walked away from any other shop this satisfied. Will go there always from now on.

I've been very impressed with the work at Braaten's Auto. I first took my car there for an issue that another place couldn't figure out. The fix ended up being pretty cheap and they did not try to get me to do any unnecessary work.I have been to other places that charge exorbitant prices for lower quality work. They're pretty fast but they are very busy. Highly recommend!

Had to have my truck towed over there and they said they could get to it on Friday. Mind you this was a Tuesday so that was awesome. Had it towed Wednesday and they called me 2 hours later saying they'd looked at it and should be fixed today. You never get that kind of service from a dealership. Super friendly and awesome to work with. Will for sure be using them as my primary auto care center for the doreseeabke future.

As a Canadian passing through Grand Forks I found myself in a real bind with a catastrophic breakdown. Kevin and his entire crew, on short notice, went far above and beyond to get me back on the road again. They were even more than willing to provide continued support even after I hit the road again. Without boring you with the details regarding their fairness, professionalism and true concern their customers, I can sum up Kevin and his crew with one word .Integrity!! Their shop is clean and, in the spirit of transparency, large windows allow you to observe the guys working on your vehicle.I have no hesitation in trusting my family s safety with these folks. RAVE to Braaten s Auto on S WashingtonOn Saturday I realized I had oil pouring out of my car in the garage. I checked the dipstick and there was no oil on it. I had it towed to Braaten s. (also rave to Chris from Interstate Towing - very pleasant experience)Today Braaten s called me and said it was a loose oil filter plug and since they did my last oil change they would replace it, and do an oil change at no cost. They apologized and also reimbursed me for the tow fee ($170)I am beyond pleased with their honesty and willingness to fix the problem. It is a huge relief both financially and having my car back quickly. I will definitely be continuing to go there for any services I need done.

We use them extensively for work on our vehicles. Just today, I was getting a code for the fuel being lean on my 2020 Suburban which was odd for this year of a vehicle. They worked to get it in to take a look at it and after determining that the codes went back a ways and taking it for a test drive they determined that we should just keep an eye on if it shows up again. When asked for the cost to take a look at it, they said there was no cost. This is why we are loyal customers of Braatens when we do need work done on our vehicles. We recommend Braaten's to our friends.

If you're looking for an auto mechanic who is fair, honest and efficient, Braaten's is for you!! I've been coming here for about 6years and I have zero complaints. They've always been fair with prices and honest about what needs fixing and what can wait, so if you're a college kid who's strapped for cash, 10/10 recommend. I'm moving West soon and I wish I could take them with me! Do yourself a favor, call these guys first.

Perfect service, just as great of a location as the N. Washington Location. Called at 8, had the cars in at 9 and they were both fixed by the end of the day. Zach was EXTREMELY helpful, knowledgeable, and polite. Great pricing for a full synthetic oil change, diagnostic, and full inspection for one car+ serpentine belt replacement and inspection for another. All for less than the average cost to repair one car at another location. This is the reason I can't take my cars anywhere else. Between these two locations, you won't be disappointed.

We have been going to Braaten s on South Washington for the last few years. The guys there provide honest, timely, and high quality service. They do a great job at explaining things especially to someone with little car knowledge. I highly recommend them for any car services you need!

The guys here are some of the best in town. Have taken a number of cars to the South Washington location for a while now. From showing up with a towed car, to check engine lights, to regular scheduled Mx. We have dealt with Tyler specifically for a number of occasions and he is always willing to help and offers some of the best customer service I ve seen within auto service. These guys can be trusted with giving you honest and excellent service each time. I will continue taking my cars to them while here in Grand Forks!

I had my 2011 Kia Sorento towed there because I heard good things about this shop. They were very professional and courteous in dealing with me and my vehicle. It ended up that they noticed I had a complete engine failure. I was from out of town so this was a problem for me. They didn t charge me for anything , because they didn t need to do very much in terms of diagnosis, but they were very helpful in advising me on how to proceed. After I left town, they were willing to hold on to the key for the tow truck which came by four days later.They seemed very trustworthy and competent and I would recommend this company to anyone that is in Grand Forks.

Ya ever just run across the best swimming or fishing hole? If that s not your thing, perhaps that top notch restaurant that you want to tell all your friends about, but at the same time you don t want to give up your BIG secret .It s this place. Ugh. I want to do by right by them, because they have done right by me, BUT it s hard to want to share them. It s like a really good chocolate bar or ice cream that you hide in a drawer or back of the freezer in a dozen cauliflower bag.I m not going to beg you to go to this auto service shop. One day you will (not jinxing anyone) have the misfortunate fortune of having vehicle issues. No need to cuss at your troubles, because these honest and upstanding mechanics will do right by you and your vehicle. 1,000 STARS

Traveling cross country in camper; stopped there due to bad noise. They took me right in, diagnosed the problem and three hours later I was back on the road with critically needed new rear brakes. I was thrilled and grateful for such good service. Good people. I highly recommend.

Brought and older car in, wasn't running right, they test drive and said it was running fine so i came and paid for oil change and said I'd pickup later. I picked up about 2 hrs later, drove from one side of the building to the other and it was still doing the same thing. So I walked in and said I didn't even make it across the lot and I can tell it's screwed up. I said ill just take it somewhere else, Leroy' s response was "good"! Will never be back, Sure wish Spencer from 32nd ave still owned, now that was a good and honest mechanic!

I love these guys. They always do their best to get you in and do a great job no matter which location you go to. They charge fair prices for fair work and give you an honest opinion of when things do and don't need to be fixed and how long any fix can wait. I always bring my cars 5o them anytime I can.

Was in a situation where I needed my older vehicle checked for poor working conditions, knowing I would have to trade it in for a newer used vehicle. They not only gave it to me straight on the overall condition without charge but they conducted two pre-purchase auto inspections of prospective vehicles at VERY reasonable charges. The guy at the front desk and the auto mechanics were very helpful and informative. Would definitely go there again!

I m from Oklahoma and wasn t sure where to take my vehicle. Car (!) light on and sounded like an airplane driving inside.... started making a crazy noise when it got cold and had no idea what was wrong with it. Called when they opened and they asked how soon I could bring it in to check it out- I got it right up there- they drove with me to listen for what I was hearing, they called with repairs that needed to be done but gave me options of fixing all... or repairing what was of main Concern.... very friendly, professional, honest, fast, and truly pleased with service! So THANK YOU!!!!

I didn't even want to give him one star but the system makes you. He is a Crook Run as fast as you can from this shop. He steals parts off your car like my Brand new rotors and my really expensive windshield wipers. He had to send the car out for diagnosis for a simple fix and then he charges $300.00 for the diagnosis. He also put in a new engine and put water into the radiator hoping it would break so you would bring it back to him for more repairs. He is a joke of a mechanic and if you notice he even rated his own shop. And I have posted on his site before but he removes my notes. I have reported him the the BBB and the Attorney General. This shop should be closed!!!! I'm not the only one he has ripped off the Police are also watching his shop because of multiple complaints of being ripped off by the mechanics. Spend your money elsewhere THIS SHOP IS NO GOOD!!!!!!
