Would not recommend. Dropped my vehicle off for a simple diagnostic run and they charge $128 for labor for a part that is accessible by removing two bolts ~20 minutes maximum for a skilled mechanic. They then quoted me $350 for a part that is available at multiple websites for less than $100. Very clearly trying to take advantage of people that do not know much about cars.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

I had my car brought in with an issue. They got it fixed after 2 days because I had to wait after a spot opened up.I had no clue about my issues aside from electrical issues. They found it and had it resolved within 2 days because I waited for a spot to open up and I was in no rush.Great service. Would come by again. Greatly recommended by friends for a reason.

I have been going to United Automotive for several years (and a few different cars) now, and I have to say, no matter what I need done, whether its just to be looked at or fixed, the staff here is fantastic! I began bringing my car(s) here because my dad has also been going here for auto services since I can remember. They can get me in in a timely manner, they explain in detail if there are any issues (because I am no car aficionado.. I know very little about cars), they answer all my questions, and they are so friendly. It's a lot like taking you car in to your family to get it looked at. They have even been so great with me that I once was having some heating/cooling issues and it was sporadic when it would happen so they said whenever it did again to just drop by (without an appt) and they could get it looked at. I did just that and they were able to accommodate me, get my car looked at and most importantly fixed that same day. You honestly can't go wrong with taking your car here. They will take good care of you and your car and they always call before they do anything if they find something out you need to know about that may be going wrong. Trust me, just call them, you won't be disappointed! Also, they have recently remodeled the waiting area and it looks AMAZING! Stop searching, seriously, just call them.

When asking around where to take our car, we were told United was the only place that hires actual mechanics!! They were extremely honest and prompt. They could have taken me for several thousands of dollars but instead, they were honest enough to tell me the repairs would be more than the car is worth!! We took our other car in for a check up so they are definitely worth another shot!!! Highly recommend!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Always excellent service. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I took my car in recently spur of the moment as I couldn't get it to accelerate past 15 mph and they worked on it and fixed it same day. I couldn't believe how fast they were able to work on. Plus they treated me with respect and kept me updated on the progress. I've gone there a few times for other small repairs and it's been the same experience every time which is why I keep going back. I definitely recommend!

I haven t always had the best luck with other facilities, but United Automotive on 28th Street has never disappointed me. Their oil changes are very reasonably priced and they always are completed in a promptly matter. Any other issues I have had with my car they have always been honest with me and never once have I felt like they would try to scam me into something I don t need or even over price me. They truly are the best of the best! I have had a few instances where I have needed immediate assistance and they have ALWAYS accommodated to fitting me in right away. Quality services and trustworthy people. Could not recommend enough!

Told them I have two tires I need repaired on a vehicle I will be having towed in with no keys at the moment. They said they would need the keys and I told them again that was not possible currently. Instead of trying to find a solution the man started giving me attitude. He asked me if I expected them to take the tires off outside and repair them inside. I don't really care what they do. I just need my tires fixed. A solution would have been much better than the attitude I received.

I called the shop at 8am and they were willing to try to squeeze me in that morning. They had great communication on the issues and the costs at every step. The shop looked super clean and inviting and the staff was friendly and helpful. By noon I had my water pump and coolant tank replaced and my truck is running perfectly! Can t thank them enough for helping on such short notice!

The guys were so helpful and did a great job explaining what was wrong with my car. They worked really fast, I had my car back the same day I brought it in. They even gave me a ride to work when I dropped my car off. I will definitely be bringing my car here for future work and would recommend them to anyone having car troubles!

Awesome customer service and timeliness. I called them right around closing time and got a quote, dropped it off after hours and put my keys in their drop box. They called me first thing in the morning with a more detailed estimate once they got to check over the vehicle and had it fixed by lunch time. Also one of the cheaper quotes I received over the phone.

United Auto has been a reputable shop for many years. I ve never been disappointed or misled by their services. They run a professional service and don t waste your time! An awesome place! Even as busy as they were they took the time to help with my car. They were upfront and said they couldn't get to my car til Thursday after the cold snap hit Fargo, ND on Tuesday, the 29th. They recommended several towing places in the area. When I arrived on Thursday morning around 9AM the car was in the shop thawing out. By 10:30 I was on the road. Friendly, knowledgeable technicians. I would highly recommend them for all automotive services. Thanks guys!!!

I was able to get in without an appointment.When I called in they gave me quotes that were really close to the final price ( it was a very fare price). Great customer service, every one was very friendly. They got the job done in a timely manner. Most important of all they did not give me a list of issues stating they need fixing as soon as possible.Thank you for your great service.

I highly recommend United AutomotiveTech. Appointment times always available as needed. Courteous and prompt service. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Comfortable waiting area. We ve always taken our vehicles to the dealer but now confidently go to United for most maintenance.

Terrific customer service and just services in general. These guys have helped me out so much and have been completely fair on all prices ( I use to date a mechanic so I really do know what I am talking about). Sad to be leaving the Fargo area. Where am I going to find true people like yourselves? Thank you so much for all time you have spent explaining things to me and for the great care you have provided to my vehicle!

The service was excellent from the phone call to just schedule an oil change to the service at the shop. They pointed out a couple of things they noticed, both things I was already aware of before coming into the shop. One of them needs to be checked out and fixed as soon as I am able to get the time to have it done. They didn t make me feel like they were pressuring me to do it there or just trying to make a buck like some places have for me in the past. I even got to go into the shop to talk w/the mechanic and ask him a few questions I had and he showed me firsthand what was going on under the hood. They were very friendly and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great place to take your vehicle. I will definitely be going back to get my stuff taken care of asap. For a small-town feeling type of experience you ll receive in the city , check this place out. Thanks, guys!

I called around for estimates on repair costs and one of the places I called was United. I was glad to hear that the costs were very reasonable, and I already knew they had a great reputation. Repairs were made the same day, future potential repairs were discussed, and the final cost was close to the estimate. The staff was excellent and knowledgeable. I would recommend United Auto to anyone.

Normally we are very happy with their service, but this time we were not. Didn't seem to care about the issues that I wrote down, only so I could let them know everything. The tech wasn't to happy about my notes I heard him say. Didn't even check the abs, traction controller, and check engine light. Told me that would be another 108$ charge.

Courteous and professional. A small rock had somehow gotten lodged by my brakes, causing a horrible noise when I was driving. I was able to bring my car in the same day and they found what was wrong, fixed it and had me on my way again within 20 minutes.

United Automotive Tech Center was able to save me $140 from what another shop had quoted me. They were honest and very helpful in letting me know what maintenance I was getting close to needing. Overall I am very satisfied with the work they did.

Just knew what I need in and out les then 5 hours and don't charge extra for nothing. Some places where arguing 1 week, 4 weeks this men are the best in my book I'll see them again if I need work on my van.

I have always had very satisfactory service from United Auto. I missed my appointment yesterday thinking it was supposed to be today, and Trent got me in for my oil change anyway . I have done business with them for over 15 years, and would recommend them to everyone.

Such a joke. I had told them what's wrong and supplied parts. They said my parts wouldn't work. So I said go ahead and find the right parts. They fixed it and charged out the ass for the repair. So whatever. And ten miles later, the power steering stopped working. Took it back a week later because I have a busy schedule and couldn't get it in to them sooner. They tried blaming me for the issue and gave me no choice but waiting another full week without a car. Don't try to even get in touch with the owner as he is nonexistent apparently. Never use them.

United Automotive out of the West Fargo location managed to lose my business forever, which sucks because they're right across the street. I brought my car in for an engine grinding noise, they told me it was a bracket in my brake rotors. Surprise! I got in my car and it did the same thing ( I brought my car there for brake work 2 months prior, but that's another story) It turns out that my engine oil was low, and my pistons were literally grinding against my engine block. I'm a male in my 20's and usually do my own vehicle work, so long as a service engine light comes on that I can read. But I'll admit, I am a complete idiot for not catching low oil (In my defense the light didn't illuminate). However, the worst is that a team of ASE certified mechanics didn't catch the problem.(This is where the light finally came on and I noticed) Before my engine blew I poured in a couple quarts of oil in the block, and problem fixed. Of course I did this after paying them to fix my "loose rotor bracket". I also had my engine valve cover replaced 4 months ago, they charged me around $250 compared to amazons $50 for the part, but I didn't have the tools to fix it myself.(Giving them the benefit of the doubt that this isn't where my loss of engine oil came in.) In their defense the service is friendly and quick, but results are not even 1 star worthy. I also complained to the BBB, but United Automotive is not even accredited so it won't carry any weight. I hope this helps anyone trying to find a mechanic that is not out to just make a buck, but treats their customers like family. If I happen to find one in the area, I will be sure to edit this post and include them.(Or if you know one, write a positive review for them so others like myself can make an informed decision) I also want to point out that I am not trying to defame a local business, these experiences are my own, but now shared on the internet for the eternity of time, hopefully for the benefit of others; and so I can vent. If the shop owner feels I am wrong, he has my phone and email from the BBB complaint made 20 minutes ago.
