We are new to Vandelay and have already taken two cars there. They are efficient, nice and well priced. Ruth is the best! We were referred by a friend and are very happy!

I met Tom at Vandelay Motors to drop off my 1966 Sting Ray for some repairs. Tom was very personable and knowledgeable, and I feel confident he will take good care of my classic car!

I was told my 2015 Jeep Laredo had a possible transmission rear seal leak. I had no idea where to take it to get it repaired in time for my upcoming test and appointment at UNC Chapel Hill a couple of weeks away. I started looking online for Transmission repair and came across Vandalay s reviews. They were all positive, so I called and went by and talked to them. A week or so later, I Took my car back for repair and within 2-3 hours later - they called and told me the problem was not the transmission but an oil housing adapter (now that s service!) A day later my car was repaired and they saved me a lot of money. It drives like a dream. No more smoke or buying oil every time I buy gas. I HIGHLY recommend Vandelay s food r your car repair. Vandelay replaced the radiator in my 2001 Toyota 4-Runner. They did an excellent job at a price that was much lower than some of the shops with whom I checked before going to Vandelay. They were very friendly, anxious to get my business, and prompt. I will continue my relationship with them for all the repair work necessary on the Toyota. It is seldom I recommend auto repair shops, but this one stands out above all the others I have used in our town. Making the experience even more pleasant was Ruth at the front desk. She was very friendly and prompt with an estimate of the work required to keep my car on the road. Additionally, Vandelay is "dog friendly." To me, that says a lot about the type of people who own the business and who work there!

Vandelay Motor s gave me the most affordable quote for a repair when I thought I wouldn t be able to find one. Not only did they repair my vehicle issue, they also put on fenders free of charge, and I noticed a few other things done which was so kind of them. The front desk woman was so kind and the atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. Thank you so much for fixing my vehicle.Services: Auto water leak repair, Vehicle Inspection

Called this establishment to help me out on a project I couldn t complete. They came highly recommended from several people and I was apprehensive about contacting them because I thought my needs and budget might not align with the high caliber of work they are used to doing. Their service rep was not only patient and accommodating but equally understanding and delightful. They came and picked up my Frankenstein Jeep without hesitation or judgement as promised and did so even though I wasn t home. Don t know what will come of all this but right now I feel like I m in very good hands and believe they will treat me fairly and honestly. Can t wait to post another review when it s all done! I knew my car was going to be an expensive fix. Vandelay fixed it for a quarter of the price than I was quoted from a repair shop much closer to my house. My car has over 222,000 miles and now runs like new!! It is more than worth it for me to travel the twenty miles to Vandelay! We were out of town and about to begin our return home when a brake caliper failed. We called them when they opened on a Friday morning. They fit us in and did a great job. Even explained how to contact them about the guarantee. Fantastic customer service

I had to have my car towed yesterday because the ball joint on the front tire broke. We just moved to the area 3 months ago and I don't know any mechanics in the area yet. Someone gave me the name and number of Vandalay Motors and I'm so glad they did! They are sooo nice and professional! Mike took great care of my car Ruth explained everything that was going on and answered all of my questions. They got the work done in a timely manner and prices are very fair! I highly recommend Vandalay Motors whether you need just a tow or any kind of work done!!Services: Tires, Car towing

Awesome mechanic and human being. I have two vehicles and Mike has been my mechanic since moving to North Carolina. I ve always cringed dealing with mechanics because as a woman, it is common to be overcharged, but Mike is always honest and when you look at the bill, the labor charges are always super reasonable. Ruth is always pleasant to deal with, and if she says she is going to call you back, she does. If you re relocating to Wilmington, I highly recommend choosing Vandelay.

My regular guy didn't have the proper equip to fix. Referred me to Vandelay 2 x now, they are wonderful, friendly, fair priced. I drive an older Sonata and they treat me like I drive a brand new Mercedes. I Definitely WOULD recommend them. They don't try to cheat you and that is hard to find these days.!!!!!

I have taken 3 cars for service to Vandelay in the past 6 months. The service is honest and fair. They are responsible and trustworthy. I have decided to go only to them for all my needs, even minor things like inspections and oil changes.

Vandelay Motors is where I go for relief when my vehicle decides to behave really strange. They get things sorted fairly and keep me motoring along.Recently corrected several unrelated problems, one after another;+ methodically diagnosed cause of engine bad behavior+ successfully performed an automotive brain transplant+ twice raised a sunken brake pedalAll reasonably performed as promised.This outfit is a resource for maintaining a vehicle in road worthy condition. It is a wonderful thing to have confidence in your vehicle. On the road again thanks to Vandelay Motor's expertise.Services: Auto battery replacement, Electrical, Engine repair, Wheel alignment, Car towing, Brakes, Air conditioning, Wiper blade installation

Great service and very reasonable rates. The Office manager was pleasant and accommodating. All the technicians were extremely professional and had my vehicle repaired and completed in a timely manner. Service rates were lower than expected. Will return for all future automotive repairs.

After moving to Wilmington 8 years ago, a friend recommended Mike at Vandelay for maintenance on my aging Elantra. I now have an aging FJ Cruiser and gladly returned to Vandelay for service. Unlike past experiences with other mechanics, I've never been roped into unwanted repairs or talked down to because I'm a woman. I feel confident taking my vehicles there knowing that they'll be returned to me having had quality work done at a reasonable cost.

Brought my wife's 2001 Camry in for service after another service dealer could not fix the problem. Mike and his crew fixed the vehicle properly and professionally and the cost was not too exorbitant. I plan on using Vandelay Motors anytime I have a car problem.

My car had some water damage from the recent floods, so I had it towed to Vandelay Motors. Their location, in-house towing, and towing fee were convenient and they seemed like the right choice. After tinkering around with the car by removing the spark plugs and doing a compression test they concluded that the car must need a new engine. They stated that I must have sucked some water into the engine and it probably wasn t worth any further investigation and quoted me at about $2000. I decided to get a second opinion before investing over $2000. Turns out the car just needed a diagnostic, air filter, and oil change, a little under $300!! I m glad I invested more time to further investigate instead of investing my money into a new engine. If it weren t for Vandelay Motors kindly refunding all my money and offering an oil change in the future, I would have given 1 star. However, I still wouldn t recommend going to this mechanic. If you do, get a second opinion.

I've only had fantastic experiences at Vandelay Motors. I've come in for little things like inspections and check engine lights to accident repairs and everyone there has been nothing but helpful, knowledgeable and fair every time. They really go above and beyond here. I highly recommend these guys.

It is always easy to schedule appointments here, and I always know exactly how much it is going to cost. The staff communicate very effectively to let you know exactly what is going on with your car every step of the way. There are never any surprises.

The driving overall isn t terrible but seriously, use your blinker and try not to cut off someone half a car length away. Do better.

I had coolant system issues, a headlight out and needed an oil change before my wife, 6 mo. old and I could leave town to avoid the hurricane. Not only did this professional service get me in, but they rush ordered a part and had me on the road the next day; right before Florence wiped out the roads. Thank You Immensely! You will always have my business.

They re the most honest and helpful people around. The prices are the best around town. If you take your vehicle any where else you are wrong. Vandley is the only place I will take any of my vehicles. Thank you Vandley.

With a name like Vandalay ...Seriously, very friendly and knowledgeable mechanics. Very good at letting one know what the problems are, what the repairs are, and what the costs are. Certainly much better than sa dealer's service department

Super real with you and to-the-point, can be thoroughly trusted to find what's wrong and not try and screw you along the way. Great prices, great staff, diligent and consistent. Only place I wanna go in Wilmington.
