I guess the old saying is true... "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me". I reluctantly took my classic car there after many years of refusing due to poor quality and neglect on a previous vehicle, but caved due to lack of quality options in the area, and because zac assured me things were different there now. Well, they are different...for the worst! I took my classic car there to have an overheating problem resolved, brakes checked, and transmission repaired. zac said a month... I told him it was my every other day driver! 1 year and 4 months later it is worse than when I dropped it off. It still overheats, transmission is clunky, and now the freshly rebuilt (not by Rackleys) transfer case is ruined, due to using the incorrect fluid. The transfer case has a tag hanging on it that says what fluid to use!! How ignorant and/or lazy and irresponsible do you need to be to ignore the blatantly obvious tag? They lost parts, broke parts. I would have pulled it out on month 3, but they had pulled the drive train and disassembled the car. The parts were spewed all across the shop. When I would visit, hoping that would show my desire to get this done, I would see my parts all over, many broke, and they couldn't locate rare, precious parts. The Vehicle sat outside in the natural element for the whole period. Tires flat, vehicle rotting away. I asked on multiple occasions to put the sun protector on the dash to protect the dash pad, they never did it. Finally, I went there and put the visor in the window. I had to replace/order parts for them because they are too incompetent to read a manual (I provided) and/or search the Internet for parts. They claim the parts are impossible to find. I located in less than 3 minutes. I gave them my parts sources. I had 3 mechanic turnovers during this debacle, exposing they can't keep mechanics due to poor management.zac is the problem, no doubt, and I think he has the owner fooled that he knows what he is doing. zac lied to my Credit card company about MANY things when I filed a claim. Blatant lies. He told the credit card company it would cost x had I chosen to rebuild the freshly rebuilt transfer case. I told zac, and the mechanic, on many occasions that it was 8000 miles into a fresh rebuild by a competent mechanic, and there were no problems with it prior to them touching it. If they got a second service manager, it might help. But, not sure that would work with current employees. When I picked it up when they said it was ready, I told them it leaked, it was not shifting correctly, the transfer case was making noise and it didn't before, and that it was still overheating. They said to drive it, and it will work itself out. What?!!!!Throughout the 1 year and 4 months I called many times! Texted them, called the owner, left voice mails with the owner , all ignored. I would call from another number, and the phone was answered immediately. I confronted the owner, stating it has been here over a year (at the time). He just laughed it off. I am now going to take them to court to resolve this. I think they should be ashamed they took my money. Clearly an open shut case. I have 45 pages of text to and from zac, and an expert mechanic stating all that I am here is true.THE WORST, stay far away.

Great service, great performance shop. They are reasonably priced, & will always let you know the best solution to your problems. I have taken both my car and wife s car there. I would highly recommend.

We were on a road trip from New York all the way down to Miami Beach. Battery light came on. Toyota Camry's 20+ alternator decides to die while we were passing the area. I had a feeling it was alternator. First we stopped at AutoZone and did a battery check It was a brand new battery. They confirm my suspicious and said that it is most probably your alternator died and you have to fix it asap otherwise your will got stuck god knows where. I asked them is there a good reputable mechanic and they suggested Rackley's. Advisor lady was so attentive and She got a price for me for Denso and told me how much it will cost. I was suprised by the price. A gentleman mechanic came to front and he was very kind and convince us also that he we will be fine. They gave us about hour and a half window. Half an hour 45 minutes later We were ready to ride. They charge 1 hour labor + part and tax.I and my wife was looking a the possible cost of replacement from various forms for the alternator. Cost was anywhere from $450 to $1000. Shop was honest they didn't keep our car for 2-3 hours and charged us labor. (One time a a Ford dealer they kept my car in the parking lot for 2 hour and charge me 2 hours of labor. I told the manager i been waiting here last 2 hour hours and they wrapped the wire fixed the issue in 15 minutes in front of my eyes. Why the 2 hours of labor, just parking my car here? My viper was broken. They refunded 1 hour)This was the most touching experience in our road trip.On behalf of my family and I, Thank you very much for helping us Team Rackley's. Keep up the honesty and good work.Greetings and loves from New York.Liman Family

A while back we had our youkon xl in for some mechanical issues. We were told that the engine threw a rod and basically it needed a new one. We decided to get a second opinion but they had already taken it apart and placed all the engine parts inside the vehicle which leaked oil all over the seats and carpet. We picked it up and have recently been told it wasn t diagnosed properly by Rackleys. They cost us over 4K in repairs and 2K worth of interior replacement parts. They also damaged the rear bumper of the vehicle and tried to deny that it happened at their facility but we had pictures to prove otherwise. I highly recommend to stay away from this establishment. Very unprofessional staff and owners.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Oil change

Poor communication, more expensive than most other places, and they misdiagnosed and charged full price for two separate issues which ended up not getting fixed. I later heard this was common practice at rackleys. The guy at the front desk is nice and seems trustworthy, but this is the worst auto shop to which I have ever been.Services: Transmission, Engine repairServices: Transmission, Engine repair

Rackleys just got a new customer! I had a flat tire and limped it there. They took me in, and Justin found the culprit! I took it to 2 other shops in the last 2 weeks and they could not find the issue. Just put air in it and sent me on my way. Not Rackleys! Rackleys took the time and treated me with kindness! They will be my go to shop for now on! Thank you Zach & Justin!!!

Had a fuse mishap while camping. Took it to them and explained what I did. They got right on it , resolved my issue and got me back on the way. You can tell they care. They were busy and had just explained that to another customer, but he made time for a quick fix. From the second I walked in you could tell that they cared around there. A group of good folks trying to make an honest dollar for quality work. Keep it up folks!

Great shop - honest, good prices, very nice people from the owner on down. Had work done on two of my older trucks the past year. Zach takes the time to explain the issues in detail and is a great guy - very friendly. The owner, I believe David?, takes time to talk with customers and knows what he is doing. Not all shops will work on older vehicles like these guys. Appreciate all the great work!

Carefully and continuously aware of any and all the variables in the condition and performance of my car, before delivering my Porsche 911 for service or repair, I inspect the car in detail from top to bottom. I should have done the same in the presence of the service manager at the time I delivered the vehicle, and in detail stipulated the condition in written form and with photographs, as I strongly encourage you to do. The exterior had been in nearly pristine condition before I dropped it off for brake service, sunroof drain clearing and a window regulator. There were no driveability issues or any performance concerns. When I picked the vehicle up, black gouges into the middle and right side of the painted silver front bumper fascia were evident. The insurance estimate to replace, paint and install new, $1223.33, as repair is not a viable option to match its design contour, blend-to-match paint, and structural integrity before deformation. The top of the right front fender is visibly creased. The upper right side of the bumper is displaced upward against the lower right side of the fender. Suspension & steering are irregular, requiring the expense of evaluation to determine if the vehicle is safe to drive, and to assess necessary repair costs. I pointed out the obvious, new front bumper fascia damage to the service manager the day I came to pay for the work, only to receive a dismissive, "That could have happened anywhere". It could have, but it did not: I was under the right front bumper area checking radiator fan actuation with an assistant the day I brought the car in (something Rackley's checked at my request while in possession of my car) and it was free of any discoloration, scrapes or damage. I drive cautiously, and would immediately discern an impact sufficient to cause this damage. I paid Rackley's $375 for the rear sunroof drains to be cleared, as these were clogged and draining into the interior. After the work was completed, I then injected distilled water into these drainage tubes to test their function, and the water did not proceed to flow through them and out below the rear wheel wells as intended & designed. Rainwater & debris remain somewhere inside of the tubing where it inevitably continues to drain into the car's interior. I was erroneously informed the rear bumper had to be removed to clear the rear sunroof drains, as Porsche Service did not confirm this to be the case: The two drain outlets are accessed by removing the rear fender wheel well liners, behind which are the drainage port grommets; removing them will allow trapped rainwater and debris to be released from the bottom of the wheel wells to the ground. Time required, maximum 30 mins per side. Although I've inquired via text to the service manager's cell about Rackley's double-checking the drains, no response. Their 1-year warrantied replacement of a defective, URO brand, made-in-China & known poor-quality window regulator required three weeks to install, and its new replacement did not function properly. But an Original Equipment Manufacturer regulator I purchased from Porsche Wilmington for the other side & installed by Intershop (Mauricio) functions flawlessly. Despite my text message notification to the service manager [I verified through Porsche] my regulator issue was not window-motor-related and I did not want to replace anything but the window regulator, when I did speak with him on the phone the next day he was in the process of sourcing for purchase a new window motor: Unnecessary and expensive. Know how your car operates, because knowledge and self-advocacy will be your best allies, and very necessary if you are willing to pursue being made whole in the effort required to ensure work here is done, and correctly. Service should never be this difficult, and you should get good results for your money, not expect work done improperly at best nor suffering loss at worst.$500 for rear 255/40/17's. Got 275/40/17's, 20mm too wide, 7/8" too tall: The Speedometer & Odometer now read less than actual speed and actual miles traveled.Services: Tires, Auto water leak repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto tire replacement, Auto maintenance

We've gone to these guys for 10 years now. Simply, they are the BEST. They are friendly, reliable, prompt, honest, and fair-priced. Over the years, they've helped with new cars, old cars, and everything in between. I send anyone/everyone that will listen to me to Rackley's, and I've never heard a complaint about these guys. I can't give a higher recommendation for a business. They set the bar for the industry and exceed it.

We have been a customer of Rackleys for over 15 years. Everyone there from A to Zack has done nothing but make my family's life easier. We raised two kids through there teenager car abuse years, and Rackleys always came through. Even when I brought them my Nissan from hell, that no one wanted to work on anymore but we managed to get over 300,000 miles out of it anyway. As of today I was their customer for the last time. We are retiring and moving north. Hopefully we can find another shop as straight forward and dependable as Dave and his crew. My family and I wish y'all at Rackleys a great and prosperous future. As a native Texan (where everything is cheap) I was concerned they would overcharge, although they were fair priced. I even walked in on him talking to a guy about searching for a cheaper part for him that was 1/4 of the original cost. Very impressing to hear! They replaced the Hardware on my brakes and everything seems to be great.Service: BrakesService: Brakes

Serpentine belt and tension pulley. Had hauled in and they seem to have done good job except when I left and checked radiator it was down a gallon. Seems like if they were working on belts should have at least checked water level. I went back and told them with no good explanation except when belts go out that can happen.I will see if everything else is ok with time.

Left my vehicle with them for a repair and authorized up to a set amount for the repair, stating that if it would cost more to please call in advance. They called a week later to tell me the repair was finished and when I arrived I found out the cost was nearly double what I authorized. In addition they didn t even bother to clear the error code for the repair they performed. I m glad my car is fixed but this will be the last time I bring it here.Service: Engine repair

We passed by the new shop every day. When both of our cars had issues at the same time, we decided to try the neighborhood shop. This shop was highly recommended by a Mustang owner friend. They did not disappoint. They are not the most nor the least expensive but replaced the rear suspension in an older Lincoln, diagnosed and fixed our Nissan issue in a very timely manner. Service was excellent. A new issue has developed with one car and we are going back to Rackley's.

A great group of really honest guys. I had my AC's blower resistor replaced here and the price I paid for it was far lower than many competitors that I called. I'm talking hundreds of dollars lower. Not only did the repair go well and everything worked correctly, but they did it in a very timely fashion and updated me on every step of the process. I was expecting it to take about an hour and a half, but they ended up having it done in fifty minutes. I would absolutely recommend anyone come here for any repairs they need. You won't be disappointed. Thanks again!

Rackley's is shady. They kept my car for a week, performed services I didn't need and didn't authorize, and failed to communicate any of this to me. I had to get a ride to Rackley's and demand my car back because they wouldn't pick up the phone.

Let my first start off by saying I am not one to usually post reviews, but much less negative reviews. I chose this place because it had 4.4 stars and was close to our house. If you're like me then you would choose a place that has more stars over a place that has less stars, even if it is cheaper. My husband needed his breaks replaced so we called on Saturday and Rackley's said they were too busy, but could do it FIRST thing Tuesday morning and took down his info. We woke up early and got there right when they opened, dropped our car off, and assumed because we scheduled an appointment 3 days ago we would be first and they would have it done quickly.. nope. Once my husband dropped the car off and got into my car the worker came up to us and asked if we had the keys and my husband replied that he had just given them to the worker.. I knew right then this was gonna be a weird experience. My husband and I went to run errands, waiting patiently for his car to be fixed. They called us 3 hours before they closed and asked if we wanted to get the oil changed too, which meant they were JUST getting to it 7 hours later.. we of course said sure since it was already there. Well they close at 5:30 and it was 5:15 and we hadn't heard from them so we drove over there.. I kid you not, my husband walked in to see why was up at 5:23 and they drove his car around front.. how convenient. Like I said, I never write reviews but I chose this place because I read good things about it.. but there is no reason why we had this type of service when we scheduled THREE days in advance AND dropped it off as soon as they opened. When my husband asked if they had a military discount they said "no we treat everyone fairly" ha, apparently not. This will be the VERY last time we go there. Hopefully this post will bring awareness to others or even the manager. Totally not satisfied.

This place is great and I will always bring me vehicles here. I called on a Tuesday and was able to dropped my car off the next morning to get some belts replaced. I was able to pick the car up in a few hours. Excellent customer service when I went in and there was no wait time. I would definitely recommend this place!

Great experience when my college daughter's car broke down in Wilmington. Zach went "above and beyond" to be helpful and was more than fair. The drag racer guy was also very helpful and nice! I wouldn't hesitate to use these guys again, or send a friend there.

These guys do great work at a great price. I needed an alternator for my Dodge Caravan. Their quote was $120-270 less than the other places that quoted me and they did it for less than the quoted price. They have my business in the future.

Very Satisfied with my visit to Rackleys performance. Brought my 1960 El Camino in for some suspension upgrades and the car drives so much better. In addition they found and fixed a problem with a pervious mechanics work that could of been catastrophic. Professional, know what they are doing and regular good people. Will absolutely use again if there is a need. Thanks

I've had several repairs done there in the past year and these guys really take responsibility for the work they do. They also go out of their way to make sure the job is done well and without charging for unneeded repairs or miscellaneous fees. Maybe most telling fact re: their integrity, if they don't specialize in something, they refer you to someone that does rather than just try to make some $'s.

These folks came through when I needed them most. I live in Raleigh and my Yukon was not performing so I called thinking Saturday not happen as most Auto Shops are closed on Saturday. I took it in and they diagnosed that my wheel bearings were so bad my tire would have probably fallen off on the way back to Raleigh later that day. These guys under promised and over delivered. Its usually the other way around for auto repair shops. I was also impressed with the fact that they take COVID seriously and their shop is very clean. Wish there was one in Raleigh!Service: Steering & suspension repair
