Maaco has an underlying bad reputation that gets around. We heard it and I am here to tell you that we had a wonderful experience. We asked around everywhere local to have a full body paint job and we were given astronomical estimates ($8-12k) and long waiting periods (3-6 months). We decided to go with Maaco because our surface rust was getting pretty bad. We are beyond happy with our results and the customer service this location gave us. Our suburban was in their shop for less than 2 weeks and their work was wonderful. Thomas and Alex were very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. Their techs were great as well. You get what you pay for stands! I am so happy with my new truck. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

My car looks better than it did when I bought it. My dog had a meltdown and tried to get in my car while I was gone. He chewed on the door handles and scratched every surface. I dropped my car off on Friday morning and it was ready on Wednesday.My Son is going to get his truck painted before he sells it. I bet it will look great.Alex A. explained everything to me so I could understand the process. He even called my bank about the insurance and it was all worked out when I picked up my car.I am so happy!

The whole experience of using Macco of Wilmington was exceptional! Alex was the first person I spoke to and he was very kind and professional. Thomas, took in my project, priced it competitively and it turned out equally exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, should the need arise and am very happy to recommend them to anyone with a painting need.

I recently had my son's Toyota Camry painted by Maaco, it had a good bit of rust but they did an excellent job and we were pleasantly surprised at the outcome. Thanks to the entire staff!

They a good job on painting my Honda Odyssey. The only thing I was disappointed in was that they got paint on my tires. Alex was great at explaining about the process and went out of his way to make sure I was satisfied.

Alex was a pleasure to deal with when I had 2 doors painted. Front door looks great, however the base coat of the rear door is very uneven. It has a ripple look across the whole door when light hits it. Im assuming different people painted each door, so its hit or miss.

I'm happy with the quote given and the finished paint job...so far, and the care instructions I received are helpful. I didn't like the length of time it took however. I asked at the time of my quote (in the office) how long should I expect and the answer was 4 to 5 days. I made a date when I was bringing it in and 9 days later I called to see when I can get it back! Of course, they don't work on Sat & Sun. So, ok, 7 days later, I'm asking. And they denied that the 4-5 days wasn't said. A full body paint job took longer...well, that was the only quote I was asking for (& received). I was told that it would be ready to pick up the next morning. Basically calling to make an appt to bring it in on a certain day means nothing. They didn't start on it then, nor probably the next day. I didn't have a 2nd car to drive so it made it somewhat inconvenient after the expected 5th day came and went. Also a customer service shuttle would be a great thing to offer!

I sat with Alex to get an estimate on a Friday, he was great to work with, I drop off my 2015 Honda Accord on Monday and received a call on Wednesday that my car was ready, fully painted. It looks beautiful, like it did when I bought it 8 years ago. I will definitely recommend and if I find myself in need of car paint services again I will most definitely come back!!.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

If customer service was any worse here, it would be non-existent. I simply called for a price to paint a single door on a vehicle. They couldn't even quote a price with all the vehicle information at hand. What added insult, is when the representative of the company purposely hangs up on me while acting like a child about it. I have never had such a poor experience with a corporate business.

Received my 13 year old car today after being painted, looked absolutely beautiful. This is my third vehicle painted by Maaco. All paint jobs have been excellent. Will be taking truck in to have it painted soon.

Beware! I had my truck painted this week and a rust repair done too. About 18 inches from the repair is another rust bubbling through. I pointed it out to Alex and what he told me was "Our technicians are instructed not to repair anything that's not on the repair order". This was after he told me at sale time that if they find anything they will call or will call if the repair we are doing gets to involved. Clearly if they sanded the whole truck before being painted this would have been found. He reiterated that they paint over problems all the time without consultation with the customer. Clearly I should have been contacted.What was I offered as a remedy? A couple hours of labor paid by me and a "break" on the paint, not "hey, you just paid us $1500, we'll fix it". Clearly their technicians are told not to think as the manager didn't even know about it. I have never seen a business where issues were just covered up and no effort to report or repair is made. Not happy!BTW we are talking about a quarter sized piece of rust.Service: Painting

Fair price to totally strip a hood on a Prius and re paint it. What really shocked me though was how they got it to exactly match the finish on the rest of the car. I didn t expect that at all. Pics don t do this justice, but see before and after. Thx guys.

After reading some bad reviews I decided to take my 1999 F-150 in to get painted anyway based on price alone, it's a old truck so wasn't looking for perfect. My clear coat was peeling off and the paint was very bad on the roof and a few other areas. I actually asked for the cheapest paint job with no body work and the price was right. Todd never tried to up sale me or tell me I should get a better service, but I did decide to get the package with a 4 year warranty. All I can say is I am amazed at the difference it made. Truck looks almost new and very glossy. Todd actually met me Saturday to pick it up even though they were closed, and still took the time to tell me about warranty and how to care for it for the first 30 days. No over spray, or runs, or drips and everything back in its place, so I was and am still very happy I took it there.

I got my car painted at Maaco one year ago. The paint still looks perfect like the day I picked up the car. These reviews made me skeptical about going to Maaco at first, but I wanted to give it a try and I am glad that I did. The franchise location at Wilmington is a great Maaco franchise.I plan on going to get a small truck painted there sometime soon. Hopefully the cost will be cheap like it was for my corolla, since it s about the same size and easier to paint and prep work than a car. ~ $750 for a four year warranty package. The Corolla looked like new when I picked it up.The prep work on my corolla is was done well by Maaco. I had no imperfections on my paint, which was a surprise to me.After a year, the paint is still holding up without any issues. I told them to take their time with the car and did not give them a deadline, because of did not want to rush them. I don t remember how many days it took for them to finish the car, but I do remember it was a short period of time and I was impressed.The car is a little dirty in the picture. I plan on washing it today, but the paint is great!

Brought them a brand new hood to paint. Got back an orange peeled mess. Apparently they cant wet sand clear coat because its a after paint process but so is the clear coat itself. Dont take anything there for quality work

I went here to get my bumper painted, and the experience was awesome. Friendly employees and everything but lets talk business. At first the paint looks amazing but then I noticed some cracks in my paint so I took it back under warranty. It last a little longer but now I have cracks all over the bumper. They tried to say it was my splitter rods creating stress this is why it cracked in the one spot so I took them off. It still cracks and its now cracking everywhere even flat surfaces. Good price but the quality is shy from fair. Will be looking else where to get this fixed!Here's a couple pictures of the cracking there's much more just hard to see on the phone.Service: Painting

They did a great job on my car for a reasonable price. There were a a few minor imperfections, but for the price, I'm very happy for what I got. The turnaround was quick and the staff was helpful. Maybe it's a guy thing, but having renewed pride in my car looking great, really does make me happy. I know it's silly, but having a respectable car really does make me feel better about my life. Previously the paint was peeling off, and it had ugly rust marks, and that was kind of depressing. For the price of a one week vacation I now get to enjoy this car for the life of the car in my life. It was a very good deal and I highly recommend it.

These guys did great. You get what you pay for here. You cannot bring a car with damage, and expect them to fix the body damage if you do not want to pay extra for that; if you only pay for spray, then spray is what you will get. You can even prep your car and bring it to then primered.

Alex Alexander at Maaco Automotive on Harley Rd in Wilmington, NC was honest, efficient and very easy to work with. He had my car ready at the time promised and it looks fantastic!

Someone had backed into my car and the bumper had gotten scratch along with my rim and tire when I first arrived at Macco for a estimate Alex had told me just by looking at the tire and rim. I would not need any thing done far as damage that I would just need a paint job on my bumper which he gave me an estimate for $865.I thought that was a little pricey just to paint the bumper and not even add an alignment which I had asked about and he said they didn t do the alignment there . So I was ok with that and was going to take it else where. There was an issue where my coverage which is Geico had issued Macco the whole check 1335 and all of a sudden now they could do alignments and alex said he would send my car to rgx rim repair for tire that I didn t need he said when I first arrived .. I arrived to Macco to pick up car long story short they charged me for paint job gave me an alignment bill went from 865$ for paint job and alignment they charged almost 300$ for I still don t believe I got one ..for all that they could of washed my car or for that much painted the whole car smh.. not please with this place at all ! They basically took the whole check once they found out it was issued to shop.Service: Painting
