I recently had an issue with something stuck in my tire while I was out of town. This location was able to get me in super fast get the problem fixed and get me back on the road. I could not have asked for a better experience and if you're in a situation where you need anything done with your tires or Wheels this is the shop I would stop into

I spent 2 horrific days trying to find someone to help me with my rim and tires. Don walked me step-by-step through what I needed and I was expecting to need so much more like around $200 and pleasantly he did everything he could to keep me safe. I only ended up paying $80. This time it's not a matter of you get what you pay for.. this time it's a matter of I would pay more if everyone were more like Don.

I have never had an issue with Hughes Brothers until today. I dropped my car for service this morning and came back with damage on the driver side doors. They refused to except responsibility stating that it was there when I dropped it off. Please take a picture of your car to avoid this happening to you wherever you go when leaving your car at any business.5/15/23 Update: HughesBrothers requested i email my information weeks ago & still hasn t responded. It was only a ploy to pretend to rectify the damage they caused.

Have a problem with 3 month old tires and office person copped a hateful attitude. Save your receipt, they will not look them up. We found ours and they are still unwilling to help. We have wire coming through the tire. Afraid to drive car

These guys took care of my issue quickly! I barley had enough time to grab a drink from the store. Great customer service and honest. Highly recommend!

Where I go for all of my oil changes and tire needs! You get there early, you get out quickly. They always call with an estimate before doing anything and have always been straightforward regarding what my car needs and when it will need it. Also super conveniently located for downtown!

Amazing employees saved my bacon this morning. My new Walmart tire was completely flat. They were so great when I limped my car into their lot to get air.Their staff saved my morning. They made me smile and they truly care about my safety.I will be a future customer

Easy in Easy out. Dependable local business. Tires , brakes , inspections and automotive. 7 working bays. John , Joe and Mike will take care of you. Oil change and bal/rotate tires. In and out 2 hours as promised.

This is my first negative review. Ever.New tires were put on my vehicle this morning 1/6/23 at Hughes Brothers on Market St. in Wilmington, NC. My wheels were damaged in the process.This is not a huge deal; they can be repaired; the same thing happened about 10 years ago on a different vehicle at a different establishment. It was fixed and everything was fine.I just got a new to me vehicle . It's a 2015 with 52,000 miles. The tires on it were the original tires from the factory. They said 4214 which means the tires were made the 42nd week of 2014. So they had never been changed. This is a vehicle I've had for about two months and was excited to get new tires put on it. We ordered the tires and took them to be changed. Now I'm just extremely disappointed in the service we received and the damage to my vehicle.Today after damaging my wheels Hughes Brothers simply said..."yeah that's why we have that sign on the door. If we fixed stuff like this(the damage they did) all the time we would go bankrupt". Well an idea there would be don't damage your customers property. They were totally unconcerned for the damage they caused which we didn't have before they touched the wheels. I have pictures before and after. Why would anyone go there knowing they mess up your stuff and don't care. I get the sign may protect them from thinking they're responsible but what a horrible attitude to have as a business or simply a human being. You cause damage to someone's personal property who is a paying customer and simply could care less.If you mess up no big deal but do the right thing and fix it. The people at Hughes Brothers did the exact opposite of the right thing they charged for the work they did and sent my vehicle down the road with my new tires and freshly damaged wheels. Very poor service and attitude.I don't care to email you personally and talk to you about it as I see is your response to customer complaints. This is what I have to say about what happened this morning. You can call my husband and speak to him if you have a person you use to fix wheels.

Good honest service! They have fixed dozens of flats, replaced my old truck starter and oil changes. Service is fast. Nothing fancy here but I think that is a good thing.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. They had me sit and wait 30 min for an inspection when the bay was empty the whole time. I sat for another 20 minutes as he proceeded to do the whole inspection for him to tell me I failed because of my window tint. I ve been to 3 other inspection places that told me they could not do it because of the tint before even starting the inspection and turned me away without charging me. This man told me out of his mouth and said he knew it would not pass inspection but continued to do it and put it into the computer AND charged me for it KNOWING it would not pass when he could have told me like the other places. DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE. VERY BAD BUSINESS.

The amount of mechanical shops that I trust are few and far between. What I appreciate most with Hughs is that they always tell you the reality of the situation and are in the business for the long-term relation rather than the immediate up-sale. For example, I had air leaking out of my tire, I took it in, they called me about the issue, told me the price of a new tire, asked if I wanted it, and then put the new tire on. Done and done. That's how it should be, right? At other places, the mechanic has tried to sell me an entire set of new tires for the "might as well" or the "it's about time anyway" value. Most recently, I went into Hughs for some general tuning up: a state inspection, oil change, tire rotation, etc. My brakes have been a little rough recently and I thought it was an alignment issue. They call me, tell me what the actual issue is, give me the price up front, noticed I was hesitant in moving forward, then assured me that while it does need to be fixed, they understand times are tough and told me that my issue wasn't dangerous for the time being. So what am I going to do? When I get the money to get the issue fixed in a few months, I'm going back to Hughs. I've been five times for various reasons now and I've never been treated poorly. Extra points for how friendly they are when I bring my dog to the shop :)

Great business! Had a nail in my tire, while here on vacation. Stopped in the closest place, which was Hughes Brothers. They patched it up in about 10 minutes and didn t charge us a thing. Everyone working here was extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

This is the most trustworthy auto shop I have been too. I work at the YMCA and my co-workers recommended this shop because Hughes is the place the Y uses for mechanic work. Excellent service- the alignment is the best one I have had, got a fantastic deal on tires, great transmission service with no issues, and an oil change at a good price. I called other auto shops in town and they told me I need this, that, and more, but Hughes brothers was honest with what I needed and charged me 200$ less. Will be back for sure.

Went in today to get my tires replaced, and was quoted a very reasonable price--when I came out it was a bit higher and it was explained that they had to fix the tire pressure sensors as well. When I mentioned that I thought I made it clear I didn't want anything done with those today they immediately took off the price back down to the original quote without any fuss. I thought this was great customer service and it speaks well that a company truly is putting their customers first. I appreciate it very, very much and highly recommend these guys!

Hughes Brothers is the only place in Wilmington I will take my car. I recently had the starter die on my '06 Pilot and not only did they stay open past 5pm so the tow truck driver could drop off the keys, but they also had the car fixed by the next afternoon. This is just one of many good experiences I've had here. As a younger female it is so normal for "car services" to try to sell you things you don't need and that has never been the case here. I cannot recommend them enough.

Received a quote for brakes, rotors and tires and scheduled an appointment to have all of it done (different days). After waiting over 3 hours I asked the counter guy if he would check to see how much longer I d have to wait and about 15 minutes later another guy came and told me they didn t have my brakes or rotors in stock and I d have to come back another day. They brought me car after a 3.5 hour wait to drive away with only new tires and an inspection. Cant help but wonder if I had been a man if they d kept me waiting that long... that s the impression I got from the men who came in after me for new tires and left way before me. I hope when their wives, daughters or granddaughters need help they aren t treated the way I was today.

These guys are great! They have always done good work for me and my family. We always buy tires from them. Only drawback is that sometimes the wait to get your car back is a little long. Usually best to take in the morning and be prepared to let them have it all day. Great people, great work and fair pricing.

Customer for 20+ years as was my father. No more. College Road location tried to sell me an oil pan stating the drain plug had been stripped. Problem is they had been changing the oil since I had the car! If it got stripped, they did it. Not the same quality of service anymore. Totally done. Found an honest company. Never going back. Advise you to take you car and money elsewhere.

Got into a small wreck, insurance suggested I come here. When I went to pick up the car after over a week I asked how bad the alignment was and I was told Don t know, but it s fixed .. it wasn t. I then stood there for 30 minutes while they looked for my misplaced paperwork. Got in the car to drive away and noticed they never replaced the steering coupler from the wreck because it was clicking so bad. Had to take it somewhere else

First time here. I initially called another tire shop in town and they just really didn't seem to want to be bothered with patching a tire. I drive by Hughes Brothers on my way to work every day, and a co-worker gave them high marks, so I thought I'd stop in. The staff was helpful and courteous and they said it would be no problem to patch my tire. They did it in less than 30 minutes and I was on my way.Thanks, Hughes Brothers! Hughes Brothers made me feel like they cared about my business and that I was important, and I seriously appreciate the great customer service they provided!

I was a long time customer at my dealership and after getting my oil change/ tire rotation/ brake fluid exchange and cabin air filter changed out, which cost $318, That same afternoon my car turned completely off and my service engine light came on. I took it back to my dealership and they said there was a problem with my intake camshaft and that it would cost an additional $350+ to repair. I asked them how this could happen and why and they said Oh it's just something that happens sometimes. I decided after all the time i put in with them that i would get another opinion. I looked into the cause of a bad intake camshaft and they said that could happen if i wasn't frequently getting my oil changed, which i'm kind of OCD about. And all records in my glove compartment from this dealership proved just that.I customer of mine had told me about Hughes Brothers and specifically a gentleman named Don. Wow! What a difference. Don quoted me a rate at $200 less. My check engine light wasn't on at the time because it had been reset at the dealership. They put it on the computer and looking for the issue, couldn't quite find it. Guess what, no charge for this. We had to wait a while to get my check engine light to come back on to make sure we were fixing the right thing. Once it came on they held to their word and for parts and labour they charged a flat $144.56. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Not only were these gentleman so professional they also helped to save me hundreds of dollars.I could not be more happy with Hughes Brothers. They have earned a new customer and have already been referred several new customers. I can't believe the amount of time and money i wasted with the dealership but that won't be a worry anymore. My new mechanics are Hughes Brothers. Thanks guys. Shalla

I have been a Hughes Brothers customer for FORTY SEVEN YEARS! They are the absolute best. Always honest in every respect.I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else for auto repair and tires.Great folks to work with. I highly recommend Hughes Brothers!

Service was fast and good. I came in to mount and balance 4 new tires. The price quoted on the phone did not match the final bill. The man collecting, discounted $10 off my bill to match a competitor I had also called, but it was still higher than the quote. So make sure you know for sure how much they will charge before you hand over your keys.

I brought my car in because my alternator was crapping out. Usually I would fix it with my dad but he lives a few hours away and this was a issue that needed to be solved ASAP. I brought my car into Hughes and immediately there was an unpleasantry; when I told the man at the desk I needed to replace my alternator, he said they'll have someone look at it who 'actually knows what their doing.' I can get it's not my profession but to immediately have a snarky attitude about it was deterring.The same man took my car and had me follow by foot to the back where one of the mechanics would check the alternator. He asked what I was studying and I told him as I'm a college student and he goes 'Oh, so you're a Biden backer?' I said excuse me and he said it again, 'a Biden backer, someone who voted for Biden.'I told him immediately my political opinion had no affiliation with getting my alternator fixed. He laughed it off and said it was a joke but genuinely I was just shocked at the unprofessionalism. I picked up my car the next day and I'm only giving this review an extra star for the fact they did fix my alternator. I will never come back here again after the treatment. I still don't understand how the field I study for is automatically defining my political views either, but the unprofessionalism here and sexism was more than enough for me to write my first review.

My wife has been living in Wilmington for most of her life, and she recommended that I take some tires I needed mounting to Hughes Brothers. They had the tires mounted and on my car within an hour. Friendly guys at the counter. Reasonable pricing. They'll continue to get my business.
