One of the most excellent car repair experiences I ve ever had. Was in town car shopping when my breaks all but failed. Had an inspection a few months ago and was told I could get a bit more out of existing ones, but I had heard some scrubbing sounds. Over the course of a few bocks while driving through downtown, the scraping worsened at stoplights and began to sound and feel like my car was breaking down. Happened to be near Economy Auto Service, so literally rolled into their lot at 6pm on Thursday evening not knowing a thing about them. I barely got out of my car when approached by a smiling mechanic (seriously, he saw my troubled expression and had the most warm, empathetic greeting)that I later understood to be the owner. I explained my situation, being nearly an hour from home with my family. He did a quick look and showed and explained that my breaks were dangerously worn. Without having to ask, he offered to stay late and replace them after finishing a car he was working on. He sent another employee to get the parts and I drove away just before 9pm with my car driving so much better. All three workers were nice, polite, and professional. There was even a picnic table and cold drink machine for our use while we waited. Nice to find people and places like this still exist!

We made a quick trip Wilmington for Easter weekend. On our way out for the evening our SUV threw both serpentine belts right before their shop. They got us right in and back on the road within an hour and a half. Fair price and great service. Definitely would recommend.

Two vehicles NC state inspection on my lunch break!! Emran is super efficient gets me in and out. I have been coming here for years now.

My car was shaking and was referred here to get it fixed. As per them my car was having issues with driver shaft and paid over $1,100 to get it fixed. I picked up the car and while driving home, the car was still shaking. Again, car was returned to auto shop and two weeks later, the guessing mechanic wanted $5,000 to change my transmission not assuring me that would fix my car issue. So, I decided to take my car back and take it to Nissan. To finalize Nissan looked at my car and all my car had was a misfire and change some oxygen sensors. P.S I gave one star just to be able to post this.

Stopped in 30 days ago and asked a few questions regarding fully synthetic oil vs conventional oil. Joel was great about explaining the reasoning. Had an oil change today and in and out in 30 minutes. Had family mechanics for years and now in Wilmington I trust Economy Auto Service for my 2017 Honda Civic needs. See you when i need an inspection.Service: Oil change

This is the best mechanic shop in town. I brought my car here to get some work done on it and I had a problem with my a/c and my old mechanic tried to fixed it and it cost me almost $1000 and still had issues with it well when I brought it to economy auto service they fixed in no time along with the other things i needed done and cost half of what I paid before. Great service, quality work and best prices in town for sure!

I am appalled that this place exists. I got an oil change mostly because I live close to it, but they not only did not leave the gas cap on where it was no where to be found when I looked, but they also left the filter from the last oil change I got and didn t actually change my oil at all, then charged me $50 for it. NEVER come here.
