Bill put a new transmission in our FJ Cruiser, and we are very satisfied. He s the only mechanic in Wilmington I would trust to do transmission work. He s honest and a master at his trade!

I was very impressed with Bill's honesty, integrity, and willingness to help. Originally, I thought I might have had a transmission issue. Bill said he might not get to my car for a couple of days, as he had a lot of work backed up. The same day, I was pleasantly surprised when Bill called me and told me that he ran the code machine on my car, which showed that two of the cylinders were misfiring, which can cause the car to not speed up and cause transmission lockup. Despite being busy, he found the time to deal with my issue. Rather than just going ahead and replacing the transmission without telling me like many would have done, Bill suggested to me to take my car to my mechanic to have him deal with cylinder misfires, and then bring it back to him to see if that solved the problem. I unequivocally recommend All About Transmissions !

Bill is such a honest and great guy. He was not only able to help us with our issue in a cost effective manner but is also very well connected and was able to refer us to another shop for some additional work. Highly recommend him for all your transmission needs!

You cannot go wrong taking your vehicle to Bill at All About Transmissions. My truck transmission was slipping and was leaking oil between the motor and transmission. He took my transmission out and repaired the rear oil seal, serviced my transmission and reinstalled. He did an excellent job and kept me posted when he had to get parts. When I got my truck back, no leaks and the transmission shifted great.Service: Transmission

I took my 2003 Honda to All About Transmissions. I have 197,000 miles on my Honda and my transmission was needing some serious attention. I was distraught and thought I would have to just trash it. Bill took quite a bit of his time to explain what needed done to fix it. He answered all the questions I had and took the time to elaborate on each. I couldn't have met a more dedicated person when it comes to fixing cars. Bill's an amazing person, willing to go the extra mile to accommodate the needs of the customer. He has an outstanding work ethic. I knew right away I could trust him to fix my transmission. I just got my Honda back and it rides like a dream! Bill is an exceptional, top-notch mechanic! Absolute shout-out to a WONDERFUL business in Wilmington!!My daughter was on a trip from Florida to Wilmington to visit a friend, when she called me describing a problem with her engine/transmission. I found All About Transmissions local to where she was. I called first thing this morning and they got her in right away to diagnose the problem. Bill is a fabulous mechanic/businessman who was able to diagnose the problem and get her on her way quickly! I honestly can't say enough good things. I hate to leave a bad review but it is what it is. My transmission has went out twice since he fixed it last summer. Went out a week after he fixed it. He fixed it again but was never really fixed. I'm probably still under the warranty but I'd rather pay someone else to fix it for real this time. Seemed like a decent guy but the work done on my truck was definitely not!Service: Transmission replacement

Bill is an outstanding guy, definitely does right by the customer and treats you like family. He went above and beyond for me and my FJ Cruiser. He keeps in contact with you and updates you throughout the process. He answers the phone also and or will return your call. Hands down best experience I've had with a shop, especially when it comes to transmissions. I would recommend him to anyone above any shop in or around Wilmington. He's a one man show but is pretty fast on productivity getting them in and out quickly especially for being the only person.

I took my classic 1990 Lincoln Mark IV to Bill based on the reviews he had on his site. After speaking to him about his comfort level on working on a car like this I was comfortable taking it to his shop. I didn't want to take this car to a dealer or a general novice. Bill was personable, kept my classic car in the garage and safe and rebuilt the transmission and had it back to me in a week. It's running great and my hats off to Bill for putting it back together better than the factory! If you are looking for sincerity, honesty and integrity, look no further.Service: Transmission

Bill took great care of my truck and was very responsive to all of my questions. He was prompt in getting me in to diagnose the vehicle and transparent about the cost. He is a great guy and will be honest and straight forward with everything he finds. He found that he did not actually have to change my transmission and pinpointed the exact problem and put me in touch with someone that could fix it. I will be back to see Bill as soon as I have another transmission issue.

Got my 2006 ford e-250 van's transmission completely replaced with a 3year 100,000 miles warranty. Cheaper and faster than the other 2 shops I had it towed to for estimates. Bill came to my house, free of charge, and test drove my truck. Couldn't find an issue and saved me a tow charge. Nicest guy, loves what he does. Immediately earned my trust. Will recommend to everyone I know and already scheduled a service check with him myself. A+. If you're having transmission issues, go see this gentleman first.

Very excellent service. Mr. Bill is very knowledgeable and built my transmission in my 3/4 ton Cummins. And the truck had never shifted so well. He done an amazing job in building my transmission i am extremely satisfied with his work. I highly recommend this shop. The only place I will take my future vehicles to. All About Transmissions is an awesome place to take your car problems. Bill, the owner, is an amazing car mechanic. He is very honest and reliable on dictating what is wrong with the automobile. I trust Bill because he took the time to tell me exactly what was wrong with my car and to show me all the broken parts. He did not try to get me to replace more than I needed just to raise the cost of his labor. He is a very cool guy and if I ever have any problems with my car, at all, he will be the one and only person I will go to. Thanks Bill for a great experience... car problems are hard enough to deal with but having someone that is honesty and good helps with the heartache and stress of the repairs.

When the transmission went out on my 1997 Chevy K1500 Z71 I had serveral shops around town quote to rebuild it and they all told me the price would be AROUND ABOUT $$$$ (my experence with that kind of quote is it has always been more not less than the quote). Then I talked to Billy at All About Transmissions and he gave me a quote and didn't give me a AROUND ABOUT price he said the price WILL BE $$$$, and when he was done rebuilding the transmission the cost was that original quote. Also he took the time to show me and tell me why it failed (in my case there were some strange things that were left inside the transmission that was not suppose to be in there that caused it to fail due to a sorry previous rebuild that happened before I bought the truck). He showed me all of the new parts that it took to make the rebuild be like a new transmission and with a nice warranty, and with all the extra work that had to be done due to the internal damage he still got it finished in the same amount of time and same cost he quoted with no surprises. Billy knows his stuff and any time I called him during the rebuild to see how things were going he answered his phone and gave me an update. And best of all my truck is back on the road after only a week in the shop and it has never shifted so smoothly, it works like a champ. I will go back to them for future repairs. I am a happy customer!!!

I am always skeptical when I take my car for service because I am not mechanically savvy. My YouTube research indicated it was going to be a major repair. Bill said, "Let me get it up on the lift." Mr.Bill helped me with my transmission fluid was leaking , pouring of my car ... He looked at it... Gave me a price... I didn't have it! He said put it up we gone fix it!!! Him and Mr. Charlie fixed my issue put air in my tire and put a quart of oil in my car!! .. They were a blessing to me and my family!! So if you need transmission work done All About Transmission... because they are all about transmissions and all about helping people...I will ALWAYS go to them for any future issues with my transmission!!! Folks, I m going to tell you like a friend...this man saved me over $600! A couple of months ago I had a check engine light come on. I pulled into Auto Zone to have them read it. It said it was the transmission fluid sensor. On a recommendation I drove way across town to have it checked by a transmission specialist. They read the code and reset it. I was told that this would not hurt my transmission but to have the sensor replaced before my next inspection. It has been a couple of months now and I just received my stimulus check. I figured it was time to get it replaced. I began calling transmission shops and asking about prices and whether they could do the job. When I called All About Transmissions I was asked to bring the Santa Fe over so he could check for a code. He showed me on his code reader that there were no codes on my vehicle whatsoever and advised me to not get something repaired that wasn t broken. I had driven the car over a 1000 miles without the check engine light coming back on. He said if there was a real problem then the light and his little machine would indicate it. I highly recommend this mechanic for any issues you might have with your vehicle.Service: Auto engine diagnostic
