Zach was absolutely amazing to deal with and work with. I called initially to get a quote and he gave it to me very promptly. I dropped off the vehicle. He gave me an estimate of time of when it would be done and it was done within that timeframe and within the quoted estimate as well actually ended up being a little bit cheaper, Zack was very nice when answering all my questions the million times I called him asking if it would be done yet would recommend to anybody.

This company tried to take me 7 years ago ! Pro-built came to my rescue. This time you ve pissed me off!!!!! Absolutely terrible in everyway possible!!!! You are an operating company that is a stain on our community !!!! You were gonna charge my mother in law over 2000 dollars for a fix of less than 100 dollars! What the actual heck. When questioned about it, your response was it s cheaper than finding another car. I will thank you for one thing, when I went to Capital Ford I found a Cool LEGO set.

Glad i looked at Reviews Before i went Here , I also was told at aAutoParts Store About this Place , Cant seem to understand why Transmission shops Have such a Bad Name.Wish i could find a Small independent or someone who works at one and does it on the side, Im not in a Hurry i got vehicles to drive.

When you are looking for the best repair on your car or Truck, choose these guys!! Milton and his team went out of their way to make sure that they found the right parts and completed the right repairs on my 1985 CJ-7. You just don't find this kind of quality of work these days. Thank you!!

Professional, Honest, Caring, Understanding, and Competent. Would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone needing work done. A++++All I can say is thank you. We were in town from Ohio, and were having transmission issues with our GMC Yukon. I called 8am Monday morning, and spoke with Jeff. He told me to bring it in, and that he could have a diagnosis by the end of the day. He called me after only a few hours and advised that I would need a new transmission. Knowing that I was leaving town on Friday, he gave me three different options, 2 of which would get me on the road Friday. Jeff and his team got me and my family all fixed up and headed back on Friday. They even went as far as letting us load half of our luggage the day before while the vehicle was still being fixed! Price was on par with quotes from a local shop back home. He could have easily taken advantage of my urgency.Thank you Jeff & Team!Service: Transmission

For starters i am a college student who is just starting to venture out on his own away from home. When my check engine light came on I chose to do business with AAMCO because of their positive reviews which are wholly warranted. I called ahead and they took it immediately and helped me coordinate with a tow truck. After doing the work of diagnosing the problem Milton went above and beyond and ultimately informed me that it would be better worth my while to take the truck to a dealership. The work was professional and timely and I have the utmost respect for this shop for turning down my business for my own good. They have earned a lifelong customer and I would recommend them to anyone.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Truly grateful for the guys at AAMCO. They took the time and found the issue with my car. An issue i had been dealing with for almost a year. Had several mechanics tell me what the problem was and never could fix it, but not the guys at AAMCO. They care about their customers and I am truly grateful. Bobby is an awesome manager. He made sure I was a happy customer. THANK YOU BOBBY AND THE GUYS AT AAMCO. FOREVER GRATEFUL.

This business was very professional, honest, and truly caring! I had to get a transmission replaced and they had it done when they said they would. The price they quoted me never changed and they did a awesome job on the work! I had to leave the car for over a week after it got ready cause I had a death I m the family out of state and they were very caring and understanding! Hopefully I won t have anymore transmission problems but if I do I will definitely go back to them!Service: Transmission

Excellent service. Staff were the most professional I have ever seen in automotive repairs, which led me to think there would be a high price tag. But, to my surprise, they were in the same price range as four other transmission shops in Wilmington. They also repaired my dads truck in a very short period of time, which allowed us to get it back to him for a surprise on Christmas eve. Great price, Great customer service, Great work. Would highly recommend.

bobby and the staff at AAMCO in Wilmington were incredible. Very professional from start to finish. They explained everything they were going to do and didn't do anything before consulting with me and getting my approval. The saved me money in everyway they could without jeopardizing their integrity or the quality of their work. I would highly recommend going by and consulting with them if you feel you may need transmission work done on your vehicle. They will impress you.

Always have had great service! A wonderful team of kind and intelligent staff. Bobby has always done everything he can to help me with my vehicle, as well as any of my friends that have car issues. The mechanics know what they're doing, and you will not get overcharged here! They have gone above and beyond to make sure my car problems are always solved in a timely and price-friendly manner.

I contacted Bobby at AAMCO on the advice from my neighbor because my son's car had been broken down for a few months. We were told that his car had a bad transmission. But after a thorough inspection from the mechanics at AAMCO it turned out that the passenger side CV axle was broken. They got us back on the road for a lot less money than we were anticipating and gave us the most courteous and helpful customer service. Thank you Bobby! You have a new loyal customer

I can't say enough about the customer service and quality of work we received with our recently rebuilt transmission. Bobby was so wonderful to explain my options with detailed information before he began the work. I felt he made me a priority each and every call and updated me often during the process. I will always recommend AAMCO!!!

My transmission in my Jeep seemed to be overfilled to me and I was a little paranoid that it was acting up so I started calling around, every place I called including the dealership in town told me I would need to have a transmission flush to get the excess out which would have cost me around $200. I kept calling around until I called AAMCO and got the sweetest man on the phone named Milton. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and concerns easily. He also explained if they needed to, they could pull the excess out with a tool they have and that a transmission flush was more than likely not necessary. He had me bring my car by for a free inspection and road test and they even pulled the excess fluid out for me. It turns out my car was fine, but having that peace of mind really helped me feel better about driving back home to Georgia. Thank you so much for talking me through everything Milton and thank you AAMCO! I highly recommend these guys if you are in the Wilmington area and you need a transmission specialist. They are very honest and reliable!

When my engine failed and I was stranded on College Road one afternoon, I gambled on AAMCO only to find a very helpful group of people who truly cared. No wonder they ve been in business for over 40 years!I was new to the area, but, never imagined I would be able to not only have a few weeks to find a solution for the engine, but, towed it back and forth to Kia dealership.Never rushed me or demanded anything.I am so grateful for you all. I have found my out of town mechanic. Coming from Philadelphia, you tend to be a little bit more on guard than most. Looking forward to working with you again soon. Thanks for the help and courtesy

I have been doing business with this AAMCO for decades and they have always gone the extra mile to ensure their customers are very satisfied. I have owned a 1966 Mustang since 1980 and do all the work myself with the exception of transmission. This is the only shop I will bring it too. The are friendly, professional and stand behind their work.On one occasion when I had a tight deadline for a car show in Charlotte they stayed really late on a Friday to complete the work. Thanks to these guys I was able to run some laps on the speedway that weekend. I Highly recommend this business !!

These guys are fantastic! I have a Japanese import vehicle. They took the time to help out a complex problem that they didn't need to. They went way above and beyond what I expected. Could not recommend these guys more! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I just took my 1996 Mustang GT in to AAMCO to have the clutch changed, transmission serviced, and pilot bearing/throwout bearing/clutch release bearing replaced. Before maintenance, the vehicle was making horrible squealing sounds every time I pressed the clutch (the release bearing going bad) but now the clutch is butter smooth and engages well with no odd noises. They were even willing to install my aftermarket RAM clutch and bearing set, albeit without covering them under an AAMCO warranty (understandable). Without telling Bobby beforehand, I showed up at 8 AM one morning while my car was being worked on. I walked in and he took me to the back and showed me what his mechanic, Brandon, was working on underneath my car. He also showed me where they rebuild transmissions, a "clean room" so to speak. Very professional operation.Bobby and his team did a great job, communicated well, and did not perform any maintenance without my prior permission. Bobby gave me a student discount on labor and resurfaced my flywheel for free ($65 normally) because I am in the military. Overall I am very satisfied with AAMCO and will be using them again when I eventually have my transmission rebuilt.

I took my Nissan Murano in to AAMCO Transmissions located at 4205 Oleander Drive in Wilmington, NC to have my transmission checked, thinking I was going to have to probably have to have it repaired or replace it, which is a very expensive repair or replacement.Since I was visiting Wilmington from another state I had prepared myself to possibly be taken advantage of. My fear of this happening never turned into reality.Milton Dobbins, Jr. is the independent owner/operator of this AAMCO facility. Milton is a very honest and fair man. Milton had my car diagnosed and he figured out that the vibration and issues that I thought was a transmission problem was actually a mechanical failure of the CV joint.Milton repaired my vehicle at an extremely reasonable rate and he was very knowledgeable, professional and quick with my repair issue.If I lived in Wilmington, NC, Milton Dobbins would have all of my business regarding vehicle repair issues.For the first time in a very long time, I know I had the good fortune of meeting a very honest car repair professional.Thank you, Milton! The team at AAMCO couldn't have been more helpful! They walked me through what they were going to do with my car explaining what I needed done and why. They were honest about what services could wait, knowing I was on a budget, and went above and beyond to make sure my upcoming road-trip was safe. I would never anywhere else in Wilmington! My car got a crack intake manifold on Christmas Day, I drove over 180 miles to bring it to the guys at AAMCO on Oleander the next day. They are extremely honest on price, and do incredible work that they stand behind. You will not be overcharged for any work done, which is important to me as a college student, thank you AAMCO Wilmington!!

I had an issue with my transmission and was told it needed to be rebuilt. That was before I took it to the guys at Aamco! They took the time to go over my vehicle piece by piece to discover my transmission was fine however the module needed to be replaced. Had I stayed with my original auto shop and rebuilt the transmission I would be out that money and still have an unusable vehicle. I can t say thank you enough to the guys at Aamco and highly recommend them for all your transmission needs!

This is absolutely the best place to go for your car care. Bobby, who works there, gives excellent customer service and he works with you, and is very reasonable. I always thought that good customer service was at the top of my list for business, along with the quality of work, and this place has both, so thumbs up to them!

I had a new transmission installed in January 2015, Bobby was more than helpful at explaining everything involved and the cost of everything that needed to be done. There was no hidden charges or fees, i paid exactly what he quoted me. A few months later my transmission fluid was leaking and again Bobby and his team pushed me to the front of the line and replaced a leaky hose (which had nothing to do with the original install) and charged me NOTHING. A week later my car stopped working and i called Bobby and he arranged to have it towed to his shop for me, I had a broken cable from my gear shift to my transmission arm. They repaired this again for me FREE OF CHARGE. I normally don't write reviews but as the store manager of a local business i was blown away by the knowledge, friendliness and customer service i received from Bobby. If you hate the headache of the normal "car shop experience" take your car to Bobby at AAMCO.ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SERVICE, QUICK AND FRIENDLY
