The owner is a nice gentleman, but the past 2 vehicles I have gotten off them have been horrible. My recent vehicle that I had gotten off them started out great, and after only having the vehicle for 4 months, guess what.... it's acting up. My first vehicle, I got off him latest a total of 6 months. The people who work there and the owner are nice, but I will not purchase another vehicle off of them. Hoping this will help others and also find its way to the owner to hopefully change somethings at this location.

Getting a vehicle at Crompton s Auto was the best place I could ever get a vehicle from. The owner was very nice and took his time doing all the paperwork and explaining all the details. I hope that a lot of people go get their vehicle at Crompton s and see all the experience they have there. Thank you David!

Very friendly. I went to buy a car alone. As a female (who knows nothing about cars) I'm always very skeptical to go to car shops, or anything of the sort, without my father. I had no fears or worries once I left Crompton's with my purchased car. They treated me like family, I honestly felt like I had known them for years. I spoke with the owner, his son and his wife, everyone treated me like I was more than a customer. I'll never forget their kindness. After speaking with my dad about the car, and letting him drive it (after it was purchased) he told me I got a great deal as well. The company is friendly, and my car/price for the car is dad approved. I couldn't ask for anything better. My little white car (Pegasus) is still doing fine almost two years later, and no work has needed to be done to her aside from regular maintenance, like an oil change.Thank you Crompton's!!!!!!

We had a great experience buying a car from Crompton s Auto Mart & Service. The process from start to finish was easy and incredibly pleasant, thanks to David Crompton. We highly recommend Crompton s.

I do not recommend purchasing a car from Crompton's. I was sold a car that had not been serviced, coolant take was bone dry. The next day the car would not crank and they would not answer the phone. I took the car in to be looked at and the turbo was bad. Should I have had the car checked before buying it? Yes. However, when did people become so corrupt? I do not want to be the person who thinks everyone is crook even if it is the truth. Beware

I bought a Grand Cherokee in 2012 from David. David took good care of me price wise, maintenance, etc with that car. I still have the Grand Cherokee and have purchased a '09 Wrangler and a '13 Grand Cherokee from Crompton's as well over the past 5 years. And will purchase from them again! Always treats you like family and takes care of you not just in the purchasing process but any issue and of course anytime you stop by or see them out and about.

Our family has purchased two vehicles from Crompton s. One was cash in hand the other financed. Both experiences were great! Everyone is friendly and very experienced. Both family vehicles have become our favorites. I always recommend Crompton s to family and friends. Hands down best buying experiences yet. Will definitely be purchasing from them again, when the time comes.

Dealing with them was a decent experience. It's been 12 years ago. The vehicle was a Ford Explorer which was quite a good vehicle for us. My only negative was they were unwilling to budge on their price even a little bit. Overall, it was a good experience.

Best experience I have had at buying a car yet! I bought it right before COVID hit and they were so awesome! I got a great deal great car and the customer service was wonderful! I will definitely by my next vehicle at Cromptons!!

I used. Crompton service for my little red truck very efficient always pleasedThen I bought a Subaru there was major problem with the transmission they worked hard getting it right. That was 3 years ago. I drove across country and have had no problems sinceThanks guys.

I never leave online reviews, but I was so impressed with Frank. He absolutely saved the day with an incredibly prompt same-day repair when everyone else was telling me they couldn't even look at it in less than a week's time.

These people are so friendly and honest. I know nothing about cars, but I know I can trust them. The mechanic is very kind and he takes the time to explain everything to me. I really appreciate this.

If I could leave zero stars I would. I've spent just as much in repairs as I have payments. I took it to them 2x to fix and they never fixed it. But made sure to charge me both times. Left me stranded less than 2 months after buying it. When I asked about trading it I was met with rudeness and he was quick to end the conversation. Now I'm stuck with a car that doesn't run.

I highly do not recommend getting a car from here.!! I feel that I was taken advantage of due to be being a young female for 1.They even went as far as paying off the car I had so that I could get a car from them. I got the car it was a Jeep and it seemed to work fine. The thing had the worst oil leak. The whole underneath of the car would be covered in oil.I took it back to them with my brother for it to be fixed and after he heavily persuaded them, they agreed to fix it. When I went to pick it up, I was informed by the owner that I needed to pay the extra amount for a warranty that they couldn t do anything else for me to fix the car, and that when something happened they wouldn t be able to give me a different car. I would have a payment on a vehicle that didn t even run.!I had to go to an actual dealership to get a car, and now I am so upside down since the Jeep I got from Crompton s wasn t worth a damn thing.I know an oil leak might not sound like a big big problem, but when I say oil leak I mean if I would have kept driving the car (even putting oil in it before every use) the motor would have blown up.!Highly unsatisfied. But I definitely learned my lesson. LADIES DO NOT GO TO GET A CAR BY YOURSELF UNLESS YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT CARS.!!Ps.. if I could give 0 stars I would.

I chose Crompton s after a former customer recommended them to me! Neither the car I bought, nor the one the former customer had bought lasted a total of 6 months. Recommend going anywhere but Crompton s!

I wish I could give NO STARS!!!! I was desperate for a car and They sold me a 2012 Chevy Captiva for roughly $6000 and it wasn't worth 500 it ended up needing $5000 worth of work after 2 months of owning it. I couldn't afford it so I let it go back to the finance company. They are shady outfit ask anyone from the town I live in!!!

Warning !do not buy from this guy,Bought a f250 truck cash and two days later had to put $5,000 into it.went to get oil change the same week the oil guy said he bought a car from Crompton auto a week later the Transmission went out he didn't fix it for him ,went to get gas across from Crompton auto the lady that works there said she bought a car from him and it died a week later.There is a lemon law in North Carolina, Crompton auto shouldn't be in business.

Quality automobile inventory at Compton's! Owner David Compton is like dealing with a friend! I searched the entire southeast and found a van I needed at Compton's in Waynesville, NC. More than likely they will have what you are looking for!

After a long exhausted search for my daughter's first car we stopped at Mr. Cromptons trying not to get our hopes up. We explained to Mr. Crompton (David) what we had as far as a down payment and that we weren't looking for anything in particular and he took us inside and was able to get her approved in a matter of minutes. Not only did he get her approved he also sold us a warranty and put 4 new tires and some needed repairs on the car prior to her getting it. As if that wasn't enough he held the car several weeks until she could get her license. Just when you're about to lose hope the good Lord always steps in and moves mountains. We truly are greatful that we were led to this absolute Angel on earth! Mr Crompton and his family have 100% gained two customers for life. Not to mention us telling everyone we know to do buisness there as well. It's awesome to know that people like this still do exist! If you give this family the opportunity I assure you they won't disappoint! #GreatfulMomma.

After a long STRESSFUL day of getting turned down by other dealers, we came to cromptons and got approved with the finance company in 20 minutes!!!! When you walk in the door your greeted with excellent customer service and by the time you leave you fill like family! These guys made buying a car so easy for us! We will forever be grateful! Thanks guys so much! We love our car and We will recommend you to everyone we know!

Super friendly! I would definitely recommend this place to someone looking for a great price on a used car.*Update* after getting fooled and almost 4 years of payments we have sunk at least half as much money in repairs as we have the cost of the car. Buyer beware.

ACTUAL LIFE SAVERS!! IF YOU NEED ANYTHING DONE ON YOUR CAR PLEASE GO HERE! I drove up to north Carolina from Louisiana for new years weekend on Thursday and the next day I had coolant leaking everywhere at 3pm. I called EVERY mechanic shop and they told me they couldn t see me till Tuesday given that it is new years weekend! Tuesday being a day AFTER I was supposed to drive back to Louisiana. I called Crompton s at 4pm an hour before they are scheduled to close and I began explaining the situation I was in and asked for help and Mr. Frank told me if I can make it to the shop right then he could help me. NOT ONLY DID THEY FIX MY CAR BUT when the radiator hose I needed was wrongly marked on as available on advanced auto parts. Mr. Frank personally drove to O reillys to retrieve the hose I needed. They even stayed past closing to fix my car and at the end of everything they charged me a more than fair price. I can t believe the kindness and care I received at Crompton auto. Thank you so much again!

If I could give a negative 0 review I would. We purchased a vehicle for our daughter and the check engine light came on less than a mile from the dealer. We had the code checked and called them. They said to bring it back and they would fix it. Upon returning the vehicle we were told it just needed to have some gas cleaner and to blow it out and not to worry everything is fine. Three days later the light came on again. Same engine code and they said to bring it in. Again, sent away saying they couldn t find anything wrong with it. Light came on a third time (same engine code) and my husband took the vehicle to a mechanic and was told the vehicle needs a new catalytic converter and any mechanic would have known that based on the code. So now, we are spending $1400 to repair a vehicle that we have had for less than 30 days. And, conveniently, the owner is never there now when we try to call. We aren t unreasonable people and wouldn t be so angry if we weren t given such a run around. And ensured that the car had nothing wrong. Bad customer service and would not recommend purchasing a vehicle from them. We wish we hadn t.
