Raleigh Auto Electrical and Diagnostics should get ten stars! Not only did they fix a very difficult to find electrical issue on my work van, but they also went above and beyond in every way possible. From communication to hospitality, professionalism and quality of work; everything was PERFECT. I am new to this area and brought my van to several reputable repair shops with no success, but plenty of invoices. Shaggy had my van fixed in just two days and at a very reasonable price. Raleigh Auto Electric and Diagnostics is my new go-to for real car troubles.

If you have any form of electrical issue just skip the dealer and take it here. Had an issue where my windshield wipers were malfunctioning and I couldn t troubleshoot it. Took it to the dealer and they charged me 200$ to diagnose it, and gave me a quote for 1000$ to fix. Took it to shaggy and he did a diagnostic and found that the problem wasn t even what the dealer said then fixed it for 700$ within a couple days. Works great now, he even vacuumed out the inside and pointed out some other minor issues with the car that he found while working on it that could ve caused me issues down the road. Great work all around

Shaggy at Raleigh Auto Electrical did such a good job on my work van I decided to take my wife's volvo to him and once again they didn't disappoint. They did the job promptly and at 25% less than the dealership or any other quotes we got. They are my new go-to for my home and both of my business's vehicle service needs. I'm so glad to have discovered them a couple of months ago. These guys are the gem of Raleigh car repair! Ask for Shaggy.

Raleigh Auto Electrical & Diagnostics was referred to me by Auto ReCon Pros Raleigh, as I have had an ongoing electrical alarm issue that the GM car dealership could not seem to fix.Shaggy, the owner, fit me in his busy schedule and took the time to find out the problem. Within a couple of hours, he was able to diagnose the problem and fix. No more stock car alarm going off in the middle of the night! I also received a follow up call a week later to see how things were going. That's great customer service!P.S. My neighbors are happy as well!!

The best around. Let me preface this by saying it s incredibly difficult for me to take my car to the shop, been working on em since I was kid, but every few years there s just something I just can t diagnose. Enter Shaggy, the real deal auto electrician. I hit my head against this brake/tail light issue for months and then within a week, and at a reasonable sum, he had it all worked out. So big thanks for keeping this family car on the road, and yea if you re having doubts just take your car in, they ll take care of ya

Hallelujah!...finally found some honest, extremely competent, very reasonably priced mechanics who also love what they do.My 2014 Ford E-150 Cargo Van had an issue that even FORD couldn't fix due to some non-factory parts being installed by Safelight during its prior use as a fleet vehicle.24 hrs after I left it in the care of Kevin "Shaggy" Cruz it was road ready. I knew as soon as I arrived I was at the right place because he jumped straight into action with confidence that was reassuring. These people have a customer for life.

I do not recommend, not professional or respectful of ones time or money. The instructions were to drop off the car friday morning at 9am, I was there at 8:40am with the Uber already on the way to take me back home. I drove 25min to get to this place, got there and called because I didn't know where to park the car exactly, they didn't pickup but sent a message soon after saying they had an emergency and won't be back till Saturday morning, they didn't instruct further and I wouldn't have been able to not have a car for 2 days anyways, I understood emergencies happen, but be thoughtful, considerate, respectful of other people's time and lack of money, I had to pay that Uber that was already on its way. Lost a potential customer and will be sure to warn others to stay clear.

I have a classic 1976 Triumph TR6 and had difficulty finding anyone to work on it. Raleigh Auto Electrical said this would not be a problem. Sorted out all of the electrical issues - there were many - as well as my fuel injection system, and now everything works perfectly. It finally runs as it should. These guys are AWESOME! Highly recommend! Honest and Fair, and I will be bringing my cars to them from now on.Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance

AMAZING!!! As a young woman it is hard to find honest and reliable mechanics. Shaggy was so helpful by explaining exactly what the problem was and fixed it at a fair and honest price. I was also on a tight schedule and he got me back on the road in 24hrs. Incredible customer service, would give 10 stars if google allowed. Will be recommending to friends and family and using for all future repairs.Service: Auto maintenance

People who answer phones here are rude. I wouldn't bring my car here with those attitudes. All that negativity would probably do poor quality, and I'm not risking having to go back and talk to them about problems with their work ......

I had a starter problem with my '74 Karmann Ghia Convertible. I saw that the electrical system had been serviced by MANY people throughout her life and decided it would be best to completely remove the existing electrical and replace it with a Complete New wiring harness. I purchased a New OEM Harness from JBugs and decided it would be best to have a professional remove existing wiring harness and install the new one. After 4 months at Raleigh Auto Electrical, Shaggy tells me that this was the incorrect harness and that he "modified" it to work in the car. In modifying the harness, Shaggy manages to fry the points on the car and she now needs to be re-timed to run properly, Naturally, after 4 months JBugs can only confirm that the harness they sent matched the OEM that the car had... and they would not take back a harness that had now be modified. 5 months later (for a total of 9 months) and I finally got my car back. First thing I notice is that much of the old spliced together wiring is still in the car. But, at least I get the car back and can continue the body restoration. Today, I have a car that will not run. Back to no power to the starter. Starter switch checks out perfectly, starter will crank and runs when I jump the starter manually, but no power to the starter. 9 months and A LOT of money wasted with Raleigh Auto Electrical & Diagnostics. I would not recommend these guys to change a light bulb.Service: Electrical repair

These guys saved my 2006 Jeep Commander. Previously, I had 2 shops telling me that I needed a new transmission. Lee and Shaggy diagnosed a faulty transmission control module that was affecting my shifting and also causing a number of dashboard indicator lights to illuminate (O2 sensor, wheel speed sensor, etc.) A refurbished control module was ordered and installed and my 195,000 mile Commander is running like a champ! I would recommend these guys to anyone suspecting electronic module issues.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

Shaggy fixed what 2 other mechanics (including the Jeep Dealership) 3 weeks and $900 could not in 2 days! He was extremely efficient, very attentive and walked me through exactly what was wrong with my car. It was extremely refreshing coming across an honest mechanic! I would give 10 stars if I could. I highly recommend his work.Services: Electrical repair, Auto engine diagnosticServices: Electrical repair, Auto engine diagnostic

I own a 2016 Toyota Camry and it had electrical issues, my whole dashboard was on. Every single light including the seatbelt even if I had it attached. I took it everywhere including the Toyota dealership TWICE to no avail. A friend of mine introduced me to this place, best decision ever. He repaired my car everything went back to normal. He knows what he is doing. I GREATLY RECOMMEND them. Do not hesitate to try their services.Services: Electrical repair, A/C installation & repair

Lee and Shaggy are very conscientious and thorough. They work hard to make sure you the customer are pleased. They were able to quickly diagnose and fix my electrical problems on my 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck. In addition, they were able to identified and repaired a short caused by the manufacturer on my landscape trailer tail lights, which would sometimes fried my tail light's circuit board. I would highly recommend Lee and Shaggy to others.

We brought in our used car that had left us stranded a few times because it would not start. Lee and his partner ran a full diagnostics and repaired the problem and detected a few others and would not give it back to us until Lee was sure that it was roadworthy. He was extremely professional and his prices are very reasonable! Thanks for getting my Aunt's car back on the road so she could get home safe and sound!DeniseServices: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Battery

I took my 1996 Ford explorer to Lee and Shaggy last fall to help with my failing instrument cluster,as well as replace an O2 sensor.Of course there are no new instrument clusters for a 26 year old vehicle so Lee got one from a salvage yard but it unfortunately had issues. He continued the search and after going through about 3 different ones, was able to make it work.I now have a working speedometer with the added benefit of upgraded LED bulbs he installed. Also, no erroneous lights telling me something is wrong, when the problem is me. I just keep driving this old truck and doing my best to maintain it.If you are like me and need help with your old or new ride, to can count on Lee and Shaggy to get it done right! They are detailed oriented and very knowledgeable. I recommend highly them.Service: Electrical

My car was having an electrical issue that nearby car shops could not diagnose, which is how I came across Raleigh Auto Electrical & Diagnostics. Both Shaggy and Lee were extremely responsive, helpful and knowledgeable. Shaggy was able to quickly determine the root cause of the issue. They promptly got the part ordered, had my car repaired and were very flexible with the extra time I needed to pick up due to an out of town trip. Highly recommend these guys! Would definitely use them again.Service: Electrical

Shaggy is an excellent mechanic. Not only he diagnosed the problem I had with my car's stereo and air conditioning, he explained the issues with patience to a layman like me and gave me a very reasonable and affordable quote. He did his work on time, and was very professional - I could always reach him and he would explain things to me. He even fixed my trunk door problem out of his own will without charge (thanks Shaggy!). I am a very happy customer and this place earned my trust. I will be a future customer for any further car problems and would highly recommend him.Services: Electrical repair, Air conditioning

Shaggy is professional and does quality work. Rodents made their home under the hood of my Tundra and ate through 20 wires causing all sorts of lights on the dash. Shaggy worked quickly to have me up and running. Reassured me it was fixable and charged me a very fair price. Highly recommended!

Shaggy was able to quickly diagnose and replace the PCM on my 2006 Ford Explorer. I wish I would have take it to him first, unfortunately I took it to a dealership where they had it for a month and could not fix it. I had it towed to his shop and he had repaired in a few days. (It would have been sooner but we had to wait for the part to ship.) He and Lee kept me updated throughout the process to let me know what was going on. I am so happy I found out about this shop. I would recommend to anyone. Great service and great staff. Thank you!!!!!Service: Electrical repair

Shaggy fixed what no one else could. At a fraction of the price. My headlight stop working. I took it to a local shop. They said I needed a new headlight assembly. But I didn t. The problem was actually an oddly placed fuse that only shaggy was able to identify. Shaggy is just a really smart logical guy. He looked at the schematics, and figured it out. He also drop the car off at my house which was totally awesome. I highly recommend him.Service: Electrical repair

Almost every light on my Kia Sorento s exterior had burned out except for the brake lights, which stayed lit all the time like a Christmas tree. I feared something electrical, and I was unable to leave my car in a shop overnight because of my children s needs. Shaggy and his assistant came all the way to Durham to check out my car. Then they fixed all the problems with the lights, explaining everything to me as they went along. They even checked out my wiper blades and fluids as a courtesy - and a good thing, too, because my tire service had not put enough oil in the car when they changed it, and Shaggy added oil just in time. Shaggy and his assistant exhibited phenomenal professionalism and customer service skills. They essentially explained how to fix my car problems on my own next time, telling me that it was not a complicated electrical issue, and they made me feel included in the repair at every turn. My car is on the road, and I can see again! Others can see me, too! Thanks, Shaggy!Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Oil change

I acquired a 1972 BMW with wiring that was not put back correctly several years ago. Having done what I could - new bulbs, cleaning connections and grounds - I turned to Raleigh Auto Electrical & Diagnostics to hunt down and eliminate all of the gremlins in the wiring. They more than delivered - even getting the radio to work. I know have fully functioning lights inside and out and am no longer worried that other cars won t be able to see me. I m happy to have a new go-to place for car wiring!Service: Electrical repair

Brought my Range Rover Evoque here after getting an insanely high quote and time frame at the service department at the Land Rover dealership. After being turned down by many places saying they can t do electrical on my type of car I found Shaggy who was willing to do it. As soon as i dropped it off he got right to it and gave me a thorough explanation of everything he was doing with my car and got the problem fixed in less than 48 hours for a very affordable price. Highly recommend!!Service: Electrical
