These people are truly kind and helpful people! As someone who doesn t know much about vehicles, it s nice to know your in good hands. My car wouldn t start and I happen to be parked not far from their shop, by Lowes. They first lent me a gas can because I thought that s what it needed, but that didn t work so I went back for more help. They came over to jump start my car, that didn t work either! So they literally walked all the way back and forth to change the battery and it worked! Then, instead of just charging me for the new battery, they tested my old one and realized it was fine! Just wasn t connected properly. So they reconnected my old battery and didn t charge me a sent. All of this was within an hour. I couldn t explain how grateful I was, and still am. Good and honest people. Definitely switching mechanics after that! Thank you guys!!

Absolutely the most unethical and untrustworthy people at this location. Went in for a state inspection on a newer vehicle with 28000 miles, I was informed that the vehicle failed the inspection because the tires were cracked and had dry rot. I asked which one, they said all of them then quickly gave me a preprinted estimate to replace all four tires for $900.00. Of course, I did not buy the tires feeling like I was getting scammed into buying tires.I paid the bill and headed over to another local tire retailer and explained what happened, they inspected the tires and said that they saw no cracking and a small amount of dry rot, but it was nowhere near the point of failing the inspection. Good job Pep Boys! you got my $24.00 but you lost a customer for life, and I will tell everyone I know about your deceptive practices.

I brought my car in for an oil change and they said I needed tires .. when I asked how much for Tires they said 300 . They advertise on line 62.99 per tire but when I called they didn't have that tire . They wanted to sell me tires double the price for each one.I searched Amazon and find 4 tires for the price they wanted to charge me for 2 tires and Amazon recommended a tire store that would mount them at a cost of 10 dollars per tire and they are 5 minutes down the road from me ...When I dropped my car off at Pep boys for the Oil changed I filled out the paperwork starting that I wanted Regular oil in my car and they put in the synthetic oil without my Permission and Charged me for it .when I ask why I got a ridiculous story that the girl was new and she didn't .know ..WHAT SHE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO READ . Okay that fine ..She made a mistake .. but they charged me for the synthetic oil anyway instead of saying I am Sorry that happened we are not going to charge you for the synthetic oil we will charge you for what you ordered .. NOPE they took my Money and didn't even offer me any resolution to fix the problem...Worse service I had and I been going there for years .The lady the runs the Wakeforest Location should practice up on Her Customer Service skills cause she did absolutely nothing to satisfy me.What would of happened if I didn't have the money to pay for their Mistake .. They would have kept my Car ...Won't be going back there again..

NEVER GO TO THIS LOCATION! So I initially left my car here on Sunday and was told they had no appointments for Monday or Tuesday ahead of me. Get there Tuesday, still haven't looked at my car. While there we see people coming and going that didn't have appointments. Proceed to leave my husband car there, and they pulled his car right in and still didn't touch mines. So we take my car to NTB instead. Get back there hours later, they put my husbands car in another parking lot not even in a parking spot where it could have been towed. Did not fix the issue he came in there for or even tell him the cause of his lights flashing but wanted to fix other issues instead. Charged us over $150.00 for not doing one thing to the car. My husband specifically asked for ever issue to be told to him and when he asked about his lights again they said that would be an extra charge. We will never come to this location again. No form of good customer service.

While looking for tires online I found a great deal at Pep Boys, I looked and they were able to get me in that evening so I set my appointment. I arrived early and they were able to get me in early. They did a thorough inspection of the vehicle and pointed out some things that will need replaced in the future. Trish the store manager had a great attitude and was very knowledgeable. I drove out to this store due to the high reviews, I will be back for future work.

Overall they did a good job. They had my vehicle ready early. Great quality work from the technician who installed my tires. Front desk lacked knowledge on how to make the customer happy. She had difficulty with the computer and didn t know how to change my order when I asked her too regarding a different brand of tires.

MIKE at the Wake Forest Gateway Commons PepBoys location had the worst customer service I've encountered in years, in addition to not having the skillset to do his job. He failed to listen, failed to assess my vehicle prior to deciding what service was required, and consequently failed to order the four tires I needed. What should have been an easy one-visit fix escalated into THREE trips to the shop. When I arrived for the 3rd appointment, MIKE was argumentative, accusatory and disrespectful.Luckily, over the course of visits 2 and 3, Joseph, Trish and Heather were able to remedy the situation and salvage the relationship. I've been using PepBoys in Gateway Commons for all my automotive needs for 11 years, and without Joseph, Trish and Heather to sort out his mess, MIKE would have lost PepBoys a customer forever.

Painfully slow. Not the work, but actually walking into the door and getting an employee to acknowledge you. I scheduled a service the day prior and the employees had to search for the tires that I ordered. If you see in the system that there is an appointment for tires, why wouldn t you set them to the side for that appointment instead of having to search for them for 15 minutes? Also the progress link sent via text is worthless because the techs and/or receptionists don t even update it so you can see the vehicle progress and plan around it.

Friendly staff, terrible service. I am new to Wake Forest and I was needing a mechanic for one of my cars. I took the car to the Pep Boys in Gateway Commons, in Wake Forest because it was close to my home, to diagnose and repair the source of an oil leak. They said a gasket needed to be replaced. They initiated the repair and in then contacted me to indicate other parts needed to be replaced. To make a long story short, the car continued to leak after the repairs, in fact it the leak was worse than before they 'repaired' the car. I took the car back twice and they returned it with the same problem. The cost of the repair was ~$1,600. After the second time I took the car to my brother's trusted mechanic (in Virginia). they found the repairs were poorly made, the oil was leaking from the top of the gasket, the screws were so tight it cracked the top cover of the motor (not sure what the parts name is), and there was such an oil mess that it ended up ruining other parts of the motor. Bottomline, Pepboys is ok for batteries and tires... don't take your car to them for more complicated repairs.

Chris, Joe, Trish and Gabby did an amazing job! I was quoted somewhere else for a problem and came here for a second opinion and found out that problem wasn't even there, plus they went above and beyond to fix the real problem! I'll definitely be back!

The team serviced my tires, wiper blades, and engine efficiently, replaced my battery, and my spare, and also recommended coupon savings I could use to stay in budget. Received excellent customer service and support!

When it rains, it pours and at Pepboys today I would say it is a tsunami! Despite being incredibly busy, working on several vehicles, customers walking in with questions, and the phone consistently ringing; the staff (particularly trish and jacob) were repeatedly touching base with customers in the lobby as well as via phone to keep them up to date on the status of their car. As usual, I was pleased with the service provided, the price of my 4 tires was the cheapest in the area (yes I got multiple quotes), the lobby and bathroom was clean, and the staff was great at answering any questions I had. However, it is my hope that the corporate office sees this review because I have one recommendation...they need more staff. It is always busy there and from the discussions I hear, many of their customers are repeat customers. This is a testament to them doing a great job. They are understaffed it appears, even on a good day. When you couple that with incidentals (illness, family emergencies, etc), they really need more staff. Thanks to everyone there that were working so hard in this crazy heat. It doesn't go unnoticed!

We were just starting an eight hour trip when we realize that a tire was low. We took it in to get it filled first thing in the morning when they opened up. They found a nail and because we re traveling they squeezed us in right away. The manager Joe was very good to deal with and we got out of there with a very reasonable price.

Mechanics were knowedgeable and friendy, but the service advisor needs a different line of work. I had a 8 a.m. appointment and dropped car off using drop key service. They did not start on my car until 1:30 pm and that was because i called to inquire why the appointment tracker feature was not advancing and still on step 1 out of 5 steps. Step 1 is appointment confirmed, step 2 is technician assigned step 3 ..... so forth and so on. Service /reception placed me on hold and said let me check, i was on hold 8 minutes and then phone call was dropped ? So i called back and told her the call was dropped after being on hold , and she said i am checking the status of your vehicle and i am not gonna put you on hold this time. Bare in mind the appointment tracket has been at step 1 the entire day bit miraculously while i was on hold in the beginning the appointment tracker moved from step 1 to 4. No explanation at all and finally she says the mechanic said he will be done in about 2 hours. Well 2 hours is the time frame it would take to perform the services i requested. So in essence i said yall did not honor my 8 a.m. appointment , started on the vehicle only after i call which is now 6 hours after my initial appointment and their were no service updates because mo service was being performed !!! Mechanics are great, but serbice advisor needs a new job !!!

I arrived in desperate need of tires and an oil change. Not only did they perform my oil change as requested, they worked with me to get new tires I couldn't have afforded anytime soon otherwise, in order to keep myself and my daughter safe. They were friendly, courteous, and a lively, happy bunch. The service was speedy, and top notch, I felt they were honest in communicating my needs and the pricing, and I left relieved and impressed. Definitely the opposite of most of my vehicle experiences. GREAT WORK!

I have a 2021 Kia Forte LXS. I had the Wagner premium pads put on my car. They did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend Pep boys in Wake Forest for your next brake job. A little pricey but well worth. See Heather, the manager and the rest of the team was excellent. My mileage was 13,401. They strive to get the best deal for you. I want to thank everyone that works here. They definitely go above and beyond for your car needs. Always get the warranty on it.

I had a flat tire and pep boys was the closest location to me, I had never used their services before. They very quickly figured out the problem and advised me what I needed to do. Joe prides himself on customer service and I left with an inexpensive service and a smile on my face! I will definitely be using their services in the future!

Replaced front brakes and rotors. We were told that the back rotors were fine, now like two weeks later I had to take it somewhere else because the brakes were squealing which now entails rotors AND brakes. So much for that place.

These guys here are are awesome. Tire guys get things done. Joe is on point with keeping your vehicle maintained. The ship runs smooth as possible with that New Manager Trish.Even when they are understaffed they try to get you in and out as efficiently as possible. Can't recommend them enough.

I can not say enough about the great experience I had at Pep Boys in Wake Forest! The professionalism by Trish, my service advisor was EXCEPTIONAL. She went out of her way to take care of me as her client and my vehicle. Did not try to upsell anything. Was open and honest! She most definitely needs recognition and a raise!! Thank you Trish for being outstanding!

Thank you to Heather, Trish and staff for providing the best customer service. I was traveling from out of town when I began to have issues with tire pressure, leakage. I stopped in and was taken right in, tire inspected. To my dismay it could not be fixed. The spare was put on and my tire/rim was covered and placed in my trunk with care. I was really over taken when Heather rung me up and I owed nothing. Praise God. There are still good people in the world.
