You never know what you miss until you don't have it. While being one of the most reasonably priced hotels in Sylva, there were a few unexpected things I missed. The room is smallish, and there was no room for a side chair, so basically I had to sit or lie down on the bed. There was a desk chair but that's not comfortable. The bathroom has no hook behind the door to hang clothes while bathing. The shower had no hot water, and we were told that this might happen if the room hadn't been rented in awhile. Then at check out the next morning, we were told that some rooms have the hot and cold water switched. Would've been nice if it was labeled. The one drink machine was empty. The breakfast was very simple and not kept stocked. On the plus size, it was clean, extra towels were available, the beds were fairly comfortable, and we had a nice view of the mountains.

The hotel itself is pretty average, nothing fancy but also no alarming issues. The real star here is the staff! Tuck and MG greeted me with smiles and laughter, which was so refreshing after a 3hr road trip and late night wedding rehearsal. They brought joy with every interaction! The hotel is situated far enough from the highway that it isn't super noisy, but also close enough to be easy to get to.Breakfast is okay. It does the job, but isn't anything spectacular. Would've loved to see some hot bacon or something other than pastries and bagels. The bedding felt very cheap. Pillows were super flat and the sheets weren't very soft. The towels were nice and fluffy though.I appreciated the filtered water station in the lobby a lot. Very convenient for picky water people like myself. Also worth noting that the shower water pressure was pretty good.I'd definitely stay here again if I was in the area!

We had a nice experience at this MICROTEL. The young lady at the reservations desk was great. Rooms were clean and the hotel looked nice. Very nice breakfast. Only 2 small issues kept me from rating a 5 star. There seemed to be only one soft drink machine and it was completely out of water and drinks except Coke. I can t have caffeine. BUT .the same nice lady at the desk gave us 3 bottles of cold water. The other thing is our room had a scent of auto body filler or epoxy like something had been repaired. We did not complain because we did not want to move to another room. It wasn t terrible. I do recommend this Microtel and will return when staying in the area. Oh there is free WiFi and it works great. A lot of hotels want to charge extra so this is a big plus

Stay at the hotel for business. The lobby was small but nice. The stuff was very nice and answer all my questions! The complimentary breakfast was good I wish there was more protein available. All that was available was carb foods. The room it's self was nice and clean. There was musty odor. The wall of mirror did throw me off but come in handle! The view was nice and the desk served me for my purposes. The mini fridge what's an adequate size. And the bath room was clean and the water pressure GREAT.Bed was a medium firm and sleep well. Pillows also medium firm and there was enough for my needs.A side note there is no cell service I conducted business calls on Wi-Fi calling their Wi-Fi was very good.

This is the 2nd time I've stayed here this month. My room the 1st time the remote didn't work, no biggie this time... there was large booger (yep, you read that right) right in my shower curtain the remote in this room didn't work and if that wasn't the cherry on top, a few crew workers decided they needed to drink n blast their music by the pool tol 10:30... good lord I came for peace and quiet & just to relax, definitely not happening!!! Don't think I'll be back after tonight.

The hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was AMAZING. 10/10. Breakfast was good. However, the room had an odd smell and it made my allergies/sinuses go insane. I m not sure if the air filter needed to be changed or what. It didn't affect my boyfriend but he did notice the smell too. Other than that, I would stay here again.

Hard to tell. All I gotta do is drive by or Google something, they want a review. Never been there. Looks nice in photos.

The lobby of the hotel is nice. It smells like fresh paint and new carpet. The rooms are musty smelling and are a little dated. When we turn on the microwave, the lights flicker. They have re-touched the walls but used a paint that wasn't quite a match, but that's not a big deal. The AC works very well, the shower is hot, and the beds are comfy. It's good for a nights stay. The pool is small, but refreshing. And breakfast is filling. One drawback to the stay would be that the vending machines do not take cards; they are cash/ coin only.

Everyone was nice and helpful here. I made reservations and when I got there my room was already given to someone else. So they ask if it was okay to take another room I stated it would be fine. Not knowing until I got to the room it was a handicapped room. Which was okay since i was being there for just one night. The room where nice and clean. But that shower sucked because of water getting on the floor because if the way the shower was made. And Yes I do recommend this hotel because they are very nice and polite employees. Thanks You all for your hospitality and kindness. Beautiful view pictures below show view from room 4th floor and smoking area at the back of the hotel. Very beautiful. ( I don't smoke hate it)Rooms: Clean need more outlet closer to the bedsNearby activities: Has a gas station very near by can't remember what else was there. 30 minutes from the casino and restaurants. But there are some closer.Safety: Seems to be safe good lightingWalkability: Can walk to the convenient storeFood & drinks: Breakfast was nice at this hotelNoteworthy details: One night was a bit expensive. But it was 4 of us so we split the total which wasn't bad for a one night trip.

This hotel was not upheld to any standard of clean. The comforter had stuck on gunk, the sheets were badly stained and the lining under the mattress had hair caked on it from where others had slept. The sink, although it looked clean, had a hair laying across the cold lever. My son used the pull out sofa bed and when it was pulled out, there was sticky cashews stuck to the underside of the frame and many were on the floor underneath. This would have been know if the sofa was moved and vacuumed under. There was dust all along the edge of the floors and around the door handles, which means those weren't cleaned thoroughly either. The tile grout from the bathroom came out on my foot while barefoot about to take a shower. The water from the dispenser downstairs at breakfast dispensed floating things in the water. The "frozen" sausage biscuits were in the refrigerator. While we did ask for new sheets, the new ones we were given were stained as well. We addressed the issues upon leaving and the attendant said "Well, sometimes that happens." This is quite unacceptable.

Was stranded and needed another night at last moment. Krystle at front desk went above and beyond to extend our stay even though the hotel had zero vacancies. She made me feel as a top priority, now I am in a nice, clean room with A/C and not outside in 100 degree temperature waiting 6+ hrs for my vehicle rescue. Krystle and staff, I am grateful for your efforts!

We left behind some important documents about the WCU Catamount Football team that our son will be playing on. We called and they confirmed that they were able to retrieve these documents from the room we stayed in. We asked if they could be mailed to our home address which is approx 4 hours away. They said they would check with the manager but we never received them. .....this updated edit is approx 1 month later and we never did receive the mailer or any communication from the Inn & Suites.

The grounds, lobby, and room/bathroom were clean and neat in their minimalist decor. The parking lot was well lit at night. All employees were friendly. My biggest disappointment was lighting and the smell of our room, 408. Every time we entered our room we were struck with the smell of stale cigarette smoke and mold/mildew. Admittedly, I never saw any mold or mildew, everything appeared clean and the signage clearly states it is a smoke-free establishment. I wonder if smoking used to be allowed and that accounts for the stale smell. Lighting in the room was bright and abrasive, there was no option for a lower watt lamp or switch to softer canned lights. Adding at least one section of lights for a lower and softer light would have been nice. I loved the mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in our room. There were two queen beds and a single little sleeping area for a child built above the a/c at the window. It was like a window seat turned small bed with a custom cushion and pillow wedge. It was a clever idea.

On check in, another guest asked the front desk if they had anything that listed the best attractions/things to do in the area. Response? "There's some brochures by the entrance". We were the only 2 people in the area... he wasn't busy.1st room, , warm and humid on entry, air conditioner wouldn't come on, tried the wall and the unit itself. Front desk person came up, said it's working. I said not it's not, just blowing warm air. He eventually agreed to give me a different room.2nd room, same warm musty smell. They informed me the a/c in this room should work from the wall/thermostat control. No matter how low I made the temp, a/c wouldn't kick in. This different person who came up said "it just takes time, it will get cool eventually". After some words back and forth and finally an ultimatum, he agreed to give me another room.3rd room was by the lobby and right by the front entrance/parking lot, but the a/c worked. No counter in the bathroom, just a small pedestal sink, with the hotel shampoo/etc sitting on the back of the toilet. One thin blanket on the bed. Used soap from previous user still in the shower. One side of the bed had zero wall outlets. other side had one outlet and it was up under the wall mounted shelf, so I had to get on knees and elbows to plug in charger, etc. But at least the a/c worked so I didn't complain.

I was here for NYE 2021 for a one night stay. The check in and check out process was pleasant. They hold $150 authorization on the room which I expect to receive $30 in return when we check out.. The room rate was affordable. You get your temperature check as you proceed to the guest service desk and wear mask. The room was nice and clean. I didn't give this a Five stars just because the edges and corners of the rugs could be more focused on. There was some dust and lint that is noticeable. The room have Free cable, microwave, fridge, coffee maker along with coffee necessities. The hotel serves free breakfast which I really enjoyed. The hotel staff continues to keep the floors mopped and place clean.. The hotel is near the BP gas station which also have my favorite, SUBWAY! Great stay and I would do it again!

I had booked this hotel on short notice for a spontaneous trip to the mountains with my family. We like that the hotel is located right by the highway. Unfortunately our stay was not the best. The bathroom was not cleaned after our first night stay. Staff was friendly but service was meh. After returning on our second night stay we found one of the rooms propped open by the lock, luckily nothing was taken. While staff seemed concerned I highly doubt any action was taken, the manager wasn't even informed until we told them while checking out. Our second room key card was deactivated for whatever reason and did not work until a second time of informing the front desk. Beds were pretty uncomfortable to sleep in, and outlets were loose. Breakfast was pretty good and there were plenty of options offered to guests. Will more than likely not be a returning guest.

Hotel was okay, not worth the money. Room smelled like mold, paint chipping off walls, one of the beds had blue stains on it, the seating area near the window had white stains on it. The people upsairs sounded like they were having a stamping party all night. The Front desk at check in and check out was very nice!!!

Nice spacious room. However the bed sheets were dirty and a wash cloth. I had to remove the sheets and make the bed myself. Needless to say I wasn't to pleased. The continental breakfast was good. It had cold items and hot items. The ladies working in the breakfast area were very friendly. Overall it was average.
