Back in July the transmission went out in our work truck. Susan did a great job of keeping us informed of what each step would entail. Her knowledge and customer service made our decision to work with them easy.Fast foward to present day. Still going strong . could not be happier..Thank you Sanford Transmission

Very disappointed with my experience here. Unfortunately, the transmission went out on my vehicle a little over a year ago. I mistakenly brought it here attemting to fix the issue and I've had nothing but problems with not only the transmission but the owner herself, Susan. She first quoted the repair at no more than 2k with coverage of the tow bill and the final price came out over $3100 and she denied ever quoting me that low. After a few short months that "rebuilt" transmission went out. Brought it in and the same thing happened after a few weeks. Since then, I've brought it in for leaking issues to no avail. The transmission is still leaking. I attempted to call the business to sort this out and confront her for lying and she simply hung up the phone. I would never recommend this place to fellow SMs as they will blatantly steal and lie to you with no remorse.Response: Ma'am, I do not need to go back and forth with you on whos lying as I simply have nothing to gain by leaving this review. Also, that "little" price was near $700 on a mistake that your employees made in which you've admitted to. In total, I have lost almost $4000 on a product that is deficient by either complete incompetence or fraud. Completely unprofessional business, will not return.Service: Transmission

Our transmission went out on a holiday, and although the shop was closed, Susan, the manager, graciously answered the phone and offered to meet us at the shop after having the car towed there. The mechanics worked on it until it was working great. Susan was wonderful the whole time, keeping us informed on the progress. Our car is running smoothly now! Thank you so much!!! DONT COME HERE THEY WILL SCAM YOU. TERRIBLE JOB! They ll make you pay and lie about that car being ready. They called me multiple times to pick up my car and I paid 1,680 for a To fix my transmission and they ended up buying a use one that didn t work and didn t put my stage 3 clutch on like I told them too. I was driving it home when fourth gear and fifth gear popped out. They were being rude and do NOT recommend coming here.. AGAIN I DO NOT RECOMMEND Here please go somewhere eles and save yourself money and time.This lady is a liar!!!! I paid Full payment before I could even look at my car. You don t remember that? I paid full price and when I got my car IT was NOT fix so I brought it back to the shop had to wait another week for them to fix it.. Fantastic experience. I brought my van up there to get checked out for what I thought was a transmission leak because that s what the oil change place told me. Susan and JJ were very honest and told me that it was actually an oil leak! They fix me a right up at a very reasonable price. Recently my 2016 Town and County experienced transmission issues. I contacted Susan and she made room to have my van looked at the next day. Had my ZF8HP51 serviced here today. Great customer service and did an outstanding job on a very complex transmission. Even recommended that I not do some more expensive work because their test data didn t show it was necessary. Susan delivered excellent customer service to an extremely picky customer (me). 10/10 I will take my car here for trans work in the future.Service: Transmission

Please do not come here, now that Susan is gone this shop has fallen to pieces and they are selling unneeded parts! Ray is always rude and smells like liquor. Honestly the worst this business has ever been. I suggest going to S&L Automotive!!

A old employee said you scam people telling them they needed parts when they didn t. You also, used to charge this suppose to be rich man $10,000 for transmission work sounds fraud to me.The owner must have some serious problems every one star review he has some angry mental breakdown comeback.which employee am I'm talking about? The one I know does pretty good working for a company richer than you all.

Great place to take you vehicle, I say this as a mechanic. My wife s car started to have a problem with the transmission, we took it to a competitor and they said it would need a new transmission, took it to Sanford Transmission and they found that it had a relay that had come loose. Susan and the shop was amazing. My BMW transmission was acting up and slipping, I had the transmission fluid and filter flushed and replaced by a German auto repair shop. The transmission was better but still acting up after the flush. I took my car to Sanford Transmission, they test drove it, put it on the rack and noticed that a couple of adjustments had not been reset, so they reset the adjustments. The car is working much better. The shop did not charge me for the adjustments.Service: Transmission

This place saved me thousands of dollars !If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. My transmission was slipping gears so I took to an auto shop, that shall remain nameless , and was told that my transmission can t be repaired due to an internal failure . They then preceded to quote me 8,200 price to replace the transmission and possibly more since it was likely my fly wheel needed to be replaced as well. To beat all I still owed over 6,000 on the car , I was at wits end .By the Grace of god I came across Sanford Transmissions and spoke with Susan , who is a godsend, and she eased my fears and told me to bring the car in , also this was a day before Thanksgiving. She called the next day and told me what the issue was and had it repaired and ready to go a few days later . Now I m on the road and the car is driving great . I can t thank the mechanics and Susan enough for all they did .Its very hard to find a Honest mechanic who won t tell you you need to replace parts that you really don t need to . Susan and the mechanics only replaced the parts that were faulty so that my bill would be as low as possible. Trust me if you have any issues with your tramission and don t want to spend a fortune this is the place you want to go !Service: Transmission

I went to Sanford Transmission with what i thought was a Transmission issue, they went right to work diagnosing the issue, turns out it was not a transmission probelm but several others causing my problem. Susan and the staff were a joy to deal with.Susan called me and advised me what was going on every step of the way, they were fast and did a great job getting me back on the road. After Crossroads Ford in Sanford couldn t fix my transmission the first time after 4 months and then refused to fix it at all, I went to Sanford Transmission. Dealing with Susan at Sanford Transmission was a breathe of fresh air. The communication was excellent along with the service. Though the TCM was Fords responsibility ( warranty) . Susan continued to calibrate the module so the shifting would be smooth. ( on 3 occasions because crossroads ford couldn t do it right) I thought customer service didn t exist anymore until I dealt with Susan at Sanford Transmissions. Lady seemed nice over the phone. She quoted me a price for a bench job of $1200 or less for minimal damage and maximum worse case scenario of up to $1600 for a complete rebuild. The lady said my gears were new and didn t need to be replaced because it looked like it had recently been rebuilt. She said the band was broken and would call back in a few minutes. I did not hear from her until the next day when she called to inform me that the job was completed. Once they completed the job it was right under $1600 without being a complete rebuild. I never argue with anyones price but If a complete rebuild was not needed, why was I charged the price for a worse case price?Service: Transmission

Susan is very nice and so helpful! I've brought my car to this place twice now. First time we were hoping replacing all the solenoids in my 2001 Honda would help with the car jumping but it didn't. Which is fine. My cars pretty old and the previous owners had it sitting outside for who knows how long. The great point of this is that Honda was trying to charge me 3 THOUSAND just to fix them. Susan only charged me between 800-900. Second time I brought my car was to fix my brake switch(?) And battery (along with the terminal) for only 300 or so. Every place in town will either try and charge you way more than needed or take forever with no communication on when your car is fixed. Susan keeps me up to date and explains in the most basic way possible what the issues are with my car.

Susan is the best she help me when my wife s Enclave transmission went out but of course it had the 6T75E transmission Susan had it towed to her shop the very next day she called and told us everything that was wrong and how long it was gonna take to fix long story short the truck was repaired and it runs better then ever. where to even start , ms susan and her wonderful staff were so quick to look at my suburban they got it in diagnosed the transmission was bad which is common on these she went above and beyound to find me a transmission and get it delievered quickly she kept me in the loop the whole timeof what was going on . they also helped with my ac codensor that was leaking freon and of course i have the new 1234yf freon susan ordered the adapters to help fill mine up and the freon . she went above and beyound and saved me money compared to the dealership over charging . i highly recommend this shop for work and to save your pocket if your car needs the new freon to . thank you susan and staff for going above and beyound !Services: Transmission, Air conditioning

This place is awful, absolutely awful! They replaced the transmission in my husbands work van, paid them well over $5000. We picked it up 4 different times just to take it back. As soon as we left the shop the 2nd and 3rd times the check engine light came on, the noise was awful from the transmission. The lady that runs the place, wanted me to take a ride with her on the 4th return trip to hear the noise, she said 3 people test drove it. Which had to be a lie. It s still not running correctly! We have to take it to a different mechanic. You honestly need to save your time and money and not go to this shop!Service: Transmission

Just wonderful!I was told that my problem was the transmission before towing it to Sanford Transmissions. I had my truck towed to these guys.99 dodge 3500Love these guys... It was a filter that had collapsed. That is it. Not a 5 K transmission change!!Very nice to talk to and were very honest!! He even ordered batteries and replaced the old for my truck while it was there.I cant say enough about this place. All business should operate like this.Very highly recommended!!!I am so happy to have my old power house truck back home!

Mr. Ray did a fantastic job on our Nissan Frontier. He personally showed us exactly what was going on with our transmission and showed us each piece that had an issue, and even showed us his process to fix our transmission. The service we had was very friendly and we got our truck back within a week. Very quick service, and I highly recommend Mr. Ray if you re having transmission problems. Our truck runs extremely smooth now!

We had our Dodge Promaster Van diagnosed with a transmission leak (very leaking) by our regular mechanic and so we went to the dealer where our extended warranty requires us to go. It was NOT looked at in the first week, and they were not likely to get it in, based on their horrific attitude.A friend of ours had used Sanford Transmissions and had a good experience, so we opted to have them do the work. This is redundant, but I have to say that Susan is an incredible manager who knows how to give TEN star customer service. She was empathetic to our needs, and stayed in touch with us like a CHAMPION. I never had to call her to see what was going on, she was proactively calling as the progress was being done. Again, TEN STARS!!Turns out that the problem was actually an oil cooling filter housing leak, and not the transmission, but it was not in an easy spot to get to (quickly). But we were back on the road in a couple of days. It has been over 2 months since the work was performed and everything is running great. Thoroughly endorse their work - thanks to Susan and the crew!!Service: Engine repair

My Jeep had sat in another shop for almost three months with a bad transmission. I wouldn t hear from them for weeks at a time, and when they did retrenched my calls they kept telling me our hands are tied. I called Sanford Transmission and on day one they went and towed my Jeep to their shop (free of charge) and made it a mission to get my vehicle back on the road.I was back in the road within one week and Cindy (my transmission angel) would call me with updates daily. Couldn t be happier and hands down the best customer service I ve ever experienced!

the transmission for my scion took a little while to settle ; sanford transmission did their best to communicate with me through this process. they beat any competitor's price i could find and did their work professionally and succinctly. they really hit this one out of the park. in around 8-10,000 miles into using my new automatic transmission and very happy. thank you, sanford transmission.Service: Transmission

Honest, reliable, fast work! Susan, in the front office, has worked on vehicles for years and can trouble shoot any problem. She and the mechanics are dedicated to finding the problem and fixing it without recommending work that isn't needed. Honest, fast, and reliable! We will definitely bring our vehicles here again if they need work because this company is honest and cares about doing things right!

Found Sanford Transmission online after dealer tried to tell me I needed a new transmission. Called Ray and he was very knowledgeable, personal and professional about my car. He is honest and fair and I would not hesitate in taking my car to him again. It is refreshing to be told the truth and that he takes the time to make sure you understand so you are more informed about your car:-)
