It's rare that you deal with honest mechanics on your first trip to a garage. Well this store proved me wrong . Decent folks work here. Will definitely be taking my car there more. The service was 1st class. Thank you.

Highly recommend. Found their business on Yelp. I had a VW with what I thought to be a transmission issue and called to get a quote. After speaking with Tim he suggested I bring it in for them to diagnose the issue. They looked at it the next day and sent me a quote. Tim called and we went through it line by line. Turns out it wasn t the transmission but two cylinders were misfiring. They made the necessary repairs and had my car back within two business days. They answered questions without making me feel I was a bother. Glad I have found a shop who can work on my VW besides the dealer. Awesome group of guys. Thank you Tim and Rich. Satisfied customer here. I was impressed by thoroughness and communication (specifically conversation before I even decided to bring my car in).Also, they stand behind their work. I experienced a minor issue weeks after the repair and they fit me in immediately - resolved the issue, no questions asked and free of charge. Definitely earned my trust.If I ever need work done on my vehicles in the future (not just transmissions), RK will be my first call.

Had some issues with transmission shuddering between 2nd/3rd gear. I made an appt and when I dropped the vehicle off, Mr. Klein (owner) was very focused on listening to my explanation of the issue. During the work process, I was kept up to date. It took a bit longer than I expected, but I'm all for taking the time that is needed to do the job right, and the owner also mentioned that he had recently lost a technician the week prior to my drop off so I suspect that was the main reason.Mr. Chappell (service advisor) was extremely pleasant and polite to work with for updates. At the end of the day, my truck is now shifting smoothly, and I am very pleased with the work. Cost was roughly in line with what I was expecting as well. I will not hesitate to visit this shop in the future as I may have a need.

I'd been searching for a shop to replace the transfer case in my 2013 Grand Cherokee. I dropped my vehicle off overnight, received a call and quote the following day, and in less than a week, I'm back on the road. The service was fantastic, and they had a remarkable turn around time to boot. Every staff member I spoke with was professional and courteous, and they seem to take a great deal of pride in their work. I cannot recommend RK Trans & Auto highly enough. If you are having drivetrain issues, or car troubles in general, this should be your first and only stop.Service: Transmission

These guys are awesome. I ordered a whole new transmission on Thursday and they called me on Friday afternoon to tell me that it was completed! I was very surprised at how fast these guys work. They treated me with respect the whole time, very quick to respond to any questions I had. They even asked me to bring the car back after 10 days to do a follow-up inspection just to make sure everything is still looking good. I didn't shop prices around much. Just Tao Auto and they were about $600 cheaper than them. Also, the level of professionalism made it an easy decision for me.I only spoke to Lamont from there during the whole of my business transaction and he was excellent as well. No complaints whatsoever. IF I need anything in the future, no doubt they're my first stop.

I cannot speak highly enough about this shop! Robert is the owner/operator, and cares so deeply about his business and customers. It is truly a customer service oriented business, and they do quality work at a fair price using good parts. Robert and his mechanics are very knowledgeable and experienced, and they take the time to explain what your vehicle needs. My husband and I both take our cars there. I always have peace of mind walking out of this shop.

The company I work for Brock Cabinets has been very pleased with the work that we have had done on our company vehicles! We are pleased with the diagnosing and repairs in a timely manner that they provide. They treat our company the same as they do individuals, that we are just as important. You won't find a more honest and reliable repair shop to work with. You won't be sorry having them take care of all your auto needs.

I received a transmission fault warning and feared the worst. RK Transmission did a thorough diagnostic and found it was a sensor that needed to be replaced. They are very communicative and take the time to explain the issue. Highly recommend!Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

Robert was GREAT! My son has a 2009 Subaru WRX that was starting to have problems, after calling around a few places, we were pointed to RK Trans. We decided to drop it off after hours, and Robert and Lorraine pulled up, as they were in the area and invited us in and took down all our information. While having the transmission replaced, Robert updated me frequently and was extremely reasonable and thorough, it felt like family. When I went to pick the car up, Robert reviewed with me, my old transmission parts and was very helpful and patient answering all my questions! The car runs fantastic now and I will certainly use RK Trans for any of my future needs. Great company, great people! Highly recommend.

I have never met a person more passionate about their business. Robert is first class. I went here with a transmission problem and he gave me a detailed explanation on what was happening with my car. When he saw me getting lost on his explanation, he pulled out a diagram and showed me exactly what he was he was talking about. He was honest, polite and respectful. I would highly recommend using his services.

I was searching for a transmission place to get a second opinion for my 1999 Ford SUV. After reading all the reviews I didn t need to look any further and consider myself very lucky finding RK Trans & Auto Repair on-line.Details of my story: A very large car dealership in the area suggested because my car was over 100K miles it was due to have its transmission flushed. I agreed to it and that is when my problems began with the intermittent transmission slippage. On the third visit back to the dealership they experienced the transmission slippage so they decided to drop the pan and claimed they saw shavings in it. They called telling me I needed a new rebuilt transmission for a cost of $4K. The SUV value is less then 1K so I called Robert, we talked and I brought it in to him.Robert had the car for a few days and said there was too much transmission fluid in it and handed me a bill for under eighty dollars.I have not had a problem since so Robert saved me wasting a load of money.I am so pleased with Robert s level of professionalism and honesty. I have never recommend a car repair place before but I whole heartedly recommend Robert who is an honest mechanic. I will be bringing all my cars there if they need service in the future because of Robert s honesty. He definitely earns the 5 stars in my book.

I am so happy with RK Trans. I expressed to Robert what I was going through and how my new 2018 Ford Edge motor went with only 40k miles. I also explained that my 96 dodge was leaking transmission fluid and not in the best condition but it was my only way to get around and how the expense with Lyft and uber was insane!!! , Robert was so empathetic and responsive to my need , I dropped my truck of Friday and he fixed my issue and had my truck driverable and ready to pick up on a Sunday for me to get to work on Monday . I can t express enough how great of service it was!!! Even to explaining Things in detail and sending it in an email ! I will definitely be back!!! We went to RK Trans and Auto Repair for a pre-purchase inspection. We could not have been happier! First, they were really great in helping our wait be very comfortable. They dropped us off at a Burger King to wait in a more comfortable place (although their waiting room is very spacious), and picked us up after the job was done. They were ready for us right at the appointment time, and were very quick in completing the inspection. This is the best inspection I've ever had. The mechanic was very thorough. He even took pictures of some of the problems and sent them to my phone. He was able to find anything that could be wrong with the car. He then told us what was a big deal and which wasn't. He told us what would need to be repaired and when each item should be fixed. Plus, the inspection wasn't expensive at all.The actual storefront was a little hard to find since the outside said Pat's Auto (apparently two mechanics share the same spot), and the parking is slightly limited, but not too bad.Overall, amazing experience. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone!

These are truly honest, wonderful people to deal with! I was having issues with my Hyundai Sonata and I took it to Rob and he was extremely honest about what did and did not need to be done. I would definitely recommend Rob and his team if you are looking for a mechanic that does great work and deals with his clients with integrity.

So thankful to have been referred to Robert after being told by another repair shop that I would need a new transmission. Robert immediately answered my call, diagnosed my problem very quickly and was able to do minor work on my vehicle and get me back on the road. I walked out of the shop a very happy customer and saved over $5000 by taking my car to RK transmission. I trust and highly recommend Robert and his team.Denise Magnani

This is the kind of place you want to take your vehicle Robert is a very honest and straight up person. I had some rear end work done on my work van by Robert I had a really tight schedule to meet I needed it back the next day to continue working, he stayed late just to finish up my vehicle so I could have it back, really awesome shop and I will be recommending everyone I know that needs any kind of work done on there vehicle! I asked Robert to do a pre-purchase inspection for a Nissan I was looking to buy and he gave me the most detailed report I've seen so far. He provided several pages of write up with great detail. I would not have been able to think of half the things he pointed out myself. He gave me a lot of confidence in the vehicle I was purchasing. He really looked over it as if he was going to buy it himself. I highly recommend this shop because they seem like very trustworthy folks.

RK Trans & Auto repair has such high reviews for a reason. Their customer service during my recent visits with them went above and beyond expectation. No one likes to have car trouble... but they truly took the time to ease my anxieties as well as respectfully educate me on the issues my vehicle was having and how I can try to prevent future problems. They were able to get my car in quickly, diagnose the problems and fix the issues within a very reasonable amount of time and at a fair price. RK communicated with me about everything during the entire process, I was never in the dark and no question I had was left unanswered. In fact, they were happy to sit and take the time to answer any and all questions that I had! I will definitely be bringing my vehicle back to RK for all of my regular maintenance needs as well as for any other minor or major repair situations that may arise. I highly recommend RK Auto & Trans repair.

After purchasing a used 2002 Lexus SC430 sport coupe (with 113,000 miles) from my brother, I discovered numerous problems with the car. I took it to another highly regarded auto repair shop in Raleigh who gave it a thorough diagnostic and fixed the most necessary items. I subsequently noticed a transmission fluid leak and a whining when the automatic transmission was shifting. My original auto repair shop advised that they do not work on transmissions, but highly, highly, recommended Robert Klein of R&K Trans & Auto Repair. I followed their advice and could not have been more pleased with Robert and his crew's honesty, integrity and thoroughness. Problem resolved! Thank you R&K Trans!!!!

Since I can't respond after you comment I'll just do it here. You told me it would be $135 to change the fluid. You wouldn't give me keys until I paid the $135 so what choice did I have? But on with the review, I feel very ripped off. I paid $135 for just for a diagnosis. To tell me what I already knew about the car. I was told it would be that price for fluid not just to check fluid, scan codes and a road test.There are places that do free diagnostics they did nothing for my car didn't change the fluid or anything. Even told me it was dirty and claimed you advised against changing it when really it was because I was an easy target to rip off. I informed you that I was struggling. Car is in same exact condition. Only thing I received was good advice. Not worth $135 though. May as well have flushed that down the toilet. That is a lot just for a diagnostics. Dropped the car off the night before (so not even sure anything was checked at all),and it was there all day no work done on it so I took off work lost more money. The good reviews must be fake. Horrible experience. If you are reading this and you care about other people help me make the money he took from me cost him thousands and go elsewhere.

RK Trans & Auto Repair deserves 5+ stars. Most recently, Robert fixed a transmission issue with my car. He clearly explained the process of exploring where the breakdown may be, stayed in touch as he learned what was going on, and repaired the car in a timely manner. I felt extremely comfortable working with him and felt he provided high-quality service. Both Robert and his wife, Lorraine, were very nice people in general! I plan to continue using RK Trans & Auto for all future car needs and highly recommend them to friends and family.

I wasn't happy about my transmission going out, but they diagnosed it quickly. They gave me a fair price, good warranty, and had my truck back to me quickly. Very friendly people. Great experience.

Great folks to worth with! I misdiagnosed my 2007 Pontiac G6 transmission problem and they were able to explain what was actually the issue, and very quickly address it. Drives a like a new car now! I highly recommend this small shop because of the personal touch, and their honesty and integrity!

I dropped my car off on Monday and told them I needed it for my wife's mom's funeral that weekend and we needed it by Friday. They said they'd try. They didn'tOn Friday morning they didn't even have the part yet. We had to rent a car for $200. I spoke to Rob who could clearly care less whether the car was finished or we had to rent a carHe said he'd call Monday. He called Wednesday. They told me their credit card machine was broken to get me to pay cash. When I told them they can still take a credit card payment over the phone they said they would only take cash/cashier's check. This was after all the work was done and it totaled over $2400When I asked for my old parts back as is my right they said I'd have to pay a fee to the junkyard to get them. When I got to the shop the actual owner of the shop Pat helped me load the transmission into my trunk. He also gave us $100 since we had a coupon and had already made the cashier's check for the full amount.The only reason this horrible company is still in business is probably because the last thing people see and the last person people speak to is Pat. He's a really friendly, nice man and it's sad he has to put up with rip-off artists like RK.Update: The car was still having problems, brought it back, they fixed it. Spoke to the owner face-to-face, we both apologized for it getting out of control.The review would be higher but I'm still out $2400 cash. No amount of 'making up' is going to give me my money back. And the only reason I'm out that money is because the owner decided to make it personal. I'm glad the car's working and I'm glad I talked it out with the owner but I still want my cashier's check back and there's nothing that can fix that...Also, they seem to have friends and family pad their rating with random reviews right around the time of my bad review. That's wrong and defeats the point of a rating system.

These guys are great. Robbie & Robert provide great customer service and quality work. I fully trust them with my vehicle. Would highly recommend for those of you looking for a mechanic in the Raleigh area.
