This is an AWESOME Garage. I needed a transmission for my 2014 Accord and they found one that only had 38k miles on it from Japan. Dane was amazing to work with and I think their pricing was extremely reasonable. A little more than half of what I would have paid at the dealership. The car runs great and the transmission is perfect. I came from an hour and a half away to have them do this work and it was totally worth it. Highly recommend this garage. Thanks Dane and team.

Motor city is great ! I contacted Dane regarding my 2017 Nissan maxima. I needed a motor. They found one with less miles then I actually had on the vehicle and it was affordable. They got my vehicle in the shop within a few days after contacting them. Fast forward to the pick up date. The car runs smooth better now than when I first got it. Definitely recommend !!

Best shop in the city. Great work. Honest, reliable, and communicated with me even after the service was finished to be sure I was satisfied. Don t look any further this is definitely the place to bring your vehicle!

I brought my Jeep XJ that I bought recently to them to check the suspension, or anything need to be fixed.That day they were very busy, but Johnny was able to squeeze me in and check my truck.Johnny pointed out all the stuff that I need to pay attention to, without trying to upsell me anything.We made plan to what I am going to fix at that time, cost was reasonable, and they did fix what I came for without any issue.

Great experience. Johnny was accommodating for a last minute appointment, explained everything they would do etc, and carried through with everything. The best way I can describe taking your car here is it restores your faith in car servicing humanity. After numerous horrible experiences with dealerships it is welcome relief to not feel like you are being ripped off. Thanks Johnny and team. Steve T

4.5 stars. Got new front and rear suspension and upper control arms installed. They had to do a little custom cutting too. Friendly. Flexible. Knowledgeable. Honest (as far as I can tell). Fast. I'm happy with the work. Put it to the test the next week out in Pisgah National Forest. Performed great. No issues.Only ONLY thing that was frustrating was they didn't mention the extra cost for alignment, and the parts & labor was slightly more than we had ballparked. Cost was reasonable, just wish final cost was more clear upfront.

Shop owner (Dane) is very knowledgeable and recommends solid options when it comes to repair , maintenance, and car care. You can tell he really cares about his customers experience and I will never go anywhere else to maintain my family s vehicles. 5/5 without a doubt!

Showed up at the garage unannounced with the warning light, "Low Tire Pressure" on my dashboard. Within about 30 minutes, a large bolt was removed from the tire and the tire was repaired. The service was quick and the cost was minimal. Will definitely use this garage again for any future service.Service: TiresService: Tires

Worked with Motor City Garage to replace a blown engine in a RAV4. Clear explanation of process, ease of deposit, good communication on timeline of repair, ease of payment, and pleasant knowledgeable people. Great engine they acquired through Japan Direct gave new life to a car that otherwise would have been a financial loss. Best price I found for this job by far, and great service

If you are looking for people with Integrity this is your place! When i went the 1st time and read the sign they have in the office i felt they are not taking their business or name lightly.This place is a basically a Team of Honest and dedicated people, i can't thank them enough for helping me getting my new car ready especially Johnny, they are now my go-to garage as long i am here.

I had the 90K tune-up done on my 2012 Honda Crosstour: new tires and a few other bits and bobs. I highly recommend them. My car now drives like it is brand new. MCG is a pro outfit. Highly recommended!

I had a unique issue with my 2006 Jeep Wrangler and the team there was extremely patient and took their time to diagnose and fix the issue. They went above and beyond what my experience has been at different shops. I worked mostly with Dane, but met a few others there as well and they were all friendly and top notch. Update ***** - I needed a repair on my car in March of 2024. While Google won't let me add another review, I am updating this to say that I had another 5 star experience at Motor City. Wish all businesses were as customer-focused as they are!2023 review - Couldn't be happier to have found Motor City. I was totally impressed with everything about their business - diagnostics, timeliness, price! I've only used them once so far, but I feel that I don't need to ever look for another auto shop. Highest recommendation!

I had my Hyundai Sonata serviced and repaired at Motor City, unlike most repair shops this was a good experience. Costs were very reasonable and very close tothe original estimate, work was done on time .I would highly recommend this garage .

Ford dealer had my Escape for two weeks and charged me $650 for diagnostic testing, but said more testing was needed. I picked the Escape up and took it to Motor City and they repaired in 24 hours for around $425 plus cost of a new battery. I later took my Ford F150 truck there and was very pleased with Motor City s work and the cost to repair.

Outstanding! After being taken advantage of by the dealership, I found Motor City Garage and took my 2014 Cruze to them. Within minutes of looking at it, they confirmed what I had suspected was wrong. The work was completed faster than I expected, for less than expected. I definitely recommend them!

I literally had the best experience here. The guys are friendly and attentive and seem to know what they are talking about. They seem to really care about doing a good job and providing the service you need. It s not all about being efficient and taking your money. They took the time to explain things and educate me along the way. I was having an engine light error and they did some simple diagnosing and even replaced something small on my engine and didn t even charge me!! They then filled up my tires without me asking cause they saw my tire light on as well. I 10/10 recommend!!

These guys are awesome! The alternator went out on my truck and I needed it fixed fast. I called them around noon, dropped off my truck, and my truck was ready by 3pm. That is unheard of! Also, they were WAY more polite and honest than other shops I ve dealt with in the past, and their pricing is fair. I don t remember the last time I got service like this from an auto repair shop. I will definitely be using Monster City Garage if/when I need another repair done, and I will be recommending them to everyone I know! Thanks for the great service!

I have been coming here for many, many years (before it was called Motor City Garage). I have always been very happy with all the repairs done (and we're talking everything from engines replaced to basic state inspections). This last repair was to replace both headlights in my 2013 Camry. Not only did they charge me several hundred dollars less than what a national chain was going to charge me, they popped out a dent for free (my dd had done who knows what to the car, lol). They're knowledgeable, friendly, explain things to me and reasonably priced! It's so so hard to find a good, honest mechanic you feel like you can trust, and I feel lucky to have found Motor City Garage years ago!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes, Air conditioning

Reliable, friendly, and fast service! Seems like everyone in the shop is personally invested in how well the shop is doing and how well the customers are treated! I found them accidentally (searching for a quick repair for my car) and I'm glad I found them - I am definitely coming back, and suggest people I know to give them a try! They added me to their schedule right away and the work was completed well and even earlier than the original estimate (and the price was more than fair, plus it was great interacting with them in person).Keep up the great work!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Dane was very friendly and honest during our interactions. I went there to get an engine replaced in my vehicle. Price was fair for the work done and so far I ve had no issues at all. Highly recommend this company for all your vehicle needs. It s rare to find an honest and competent company these days. I had MCG do some major work on my truck about 1.5 years ago (timing belt, rear engine seal) and they did a great job at a reasonable price. I now bring all three of my vehicles there for annual inspections because I trust that Dane & Johnny will take care of any problems without me second-guessing. Last month they did my car inspection and had to replace a mass air boot to get the check engine light to reset, so going to a real mechanic instead of just an inspection station saved me considerable time. It's a relief to have found a capable repair shop that can handle everything from simple inspections to significant repairs.Service: Engine repair

MCG was fast, friendly, and honest. I had two sets of repairs done - one was a pump that needed to be replaced, and they were super easy to work with on getting the right parts and getting everything scheduled. I took our other car in for an oil change and they found it was leaking oil. Instead of charging me a boatload to fix it, they said I should look into warranty repair since the car was so new - that's an honest move if I've ever seen one! This is one of the best car repair workshop I know. After trying several workshops without success, they were able to fix my car. The next day after they fix what was wrong, the overheated. Motor City Garage send a tow truck to pick the car 26 mile away from their workshop, and fix the problem the very next day. I will recommend them to anyone one, any day or hour. They are the best.
