Let me tell y'all something. If honest mechanics were in the dictionary, Steve and Ricky pictures would be next to it. I was originally at Precision Tune, my go to because of the proximity to my job but there was a code that pointed to my transmission and they did not have the tools to further diagnose the issue, so I called around and Messer Transmission was the shop that could get me in the same day. They told me like it was and even fixed another issue that I had no idea was going on, mind you I have mentioned to other shops in the past that I was feeling jerking when I take off and put my car into drive and they never investigated nor even hinted to what it might be. Well Steve and Ricky figured it out, they even told me that what I actually came in for might not be the problem and they didn't even want to touch the supposed "problem" because it wasn't a problem they seen too often. Of course it could be just my luck but I was so happy to find out that they weren't after money but after GREAT service. They have the mindset, that when you bring your car in, they want it to be perfect when you pick it up. My car didn't even do the "problem" I came in for during the test drive (of course, right! Now that I was getting in fixed. The problem was non-existent) But anyways Steve and Ricky fixed my motor mount, which I found out was broken in 3 places (pictures to prove it) and replaced my solenoid block for my transmission (This is what I came in for, but they gave me an option to get it or not, because they were completely honest with me, telling me it was 50/50 chance this could fix the "problem") So I opted for it because if it doesn't then at least we know it's not that. BUT THANK GOD, it fixed it. Because of my motor mount and the block my car runs smoother than when I first purchased it. Thank you so much to Messer Transmission, INC (Steve and Ricky). You will get my continued service and everyone who needs a referral I will send them you way!!!I wish I would of taken a video of my engine lifts 3 inches from the mount when acceleration was applied.

Steve and Rick are the best. Me and my mom have been dealing with them for years. They are very honest and not out for money. I called at the last minute to get my transmission work on and they squeezed me in and got the job done super fast and satisfied. They even let me know other things that was wrong with my van. You will not be disappointed.

Steve and Ricky are honest and know what they are doing! We thought our transmission was bad in our 2002 Impala, and they called to let us know that the transmission was fine! It needed a catalytic converter.They also put a clutch in my 1976 Dodge Ramcharger and my 2006 Toyota Corolla.

THESE GUYS ARE PROS! I had a surprise clutch failure on my 30 year old pick-up. These guys got my late-afternoon disaster figured out in a couple hours and for a fair price. No nonsense, just quality. I would come back here for my future mechanic needs if I lived here full-time, no question.Could not recommend more highly.QUALITY with a capital Q.

Really couldn t be more grateful and impressed with the service. My transmission went out and had to be rebuilt. They quoted me a fair price and said it could be completed in a week - but evidently after they got inside they realized I used it for work so the guys worked overtime and had it ready after 2 days so I could get back to business. I did not request this timeline. They just knocked it out and called me 5 days earlier than expected asking me when I was available to pick up. Mechanics are so difficult to trust but this shop has earned my family s business for life.Service: Transmission

Steve s shop is not easy to find but worth it as he is honest and trustworthy. He could have easily taken advantage of me but did not. I was prepared for the worst scenario but after just one day my transmission was fixed and I was excited to pay just $300. He could have charged me thousands and I would not known the difference. I appreciate his honesty and would recommend him to anyone.Service: Transmission

I have a 1994 Ford Explorer Limited.The transmission went out on me from work.So i got it towed there, they diagnosed my problemsame day. They didn t offer services that I didn t need.And I really appreciate that. These guys are straight forward. I m serious it suprised me because they had my transmission rebuilt next day. They don t play around, very humble guys. I highly recommend and respect them. Shops been around for over 50 or 60 years. ( rebuilt transmission at 243,000 miles) and still going.Service: Transmission

Could not have been to a more honest place to help me with my vehicle issues! I was freaking out over the transmission issues. I had done my homework about the problem and called around for the right place to take care of my car. These guys truly looked after me- shot it straight- no hidden anything. Customer service was above & beyond! Communication was awesome. The fact that I got follow up phone calls just to make sure all was well topped it all off. I had to go to Messer Transmission 2 weeks ago about my Chevy Traverse and they checked out my vehicle thoroughly and pointed out what needed to be fixed down the road. They did not try and sell me services I did not need, what a rarity. They are excellent to work with and are very personable. I will be back.LeslieRaleigh, NC

Steve and Ricky are awesome! They are very professional and courteous. Once problem diagnosed with my truck, they had it fixed and back to me quickly.If you're having transmission issues, please go see them. Independent transmission shop hidden away on Person Street, these guys were straight up honest with me. My truck was slipping in low gears and reverse and I took it into Messer based on location and good reviews. I'm no mechanic, they could have told me almost anything was wrong and I wouldn't know, but they looked it over throughly and it only needed some tranny fluid. I had it back the next day with a fraction of the cost I was expecting. Great to know there are honest shops in town and independently owned too.

Messer is a awesome Transmission Shop back in the day I have used them to repair my 92 Buick Road Master transmission and they quoted the price which was very fair to me. When they got done my Road Master drove like a new car. I would serious recommend them to my family and friends and even someone I don't know. Just like they were referred to me. You can't go wrong! Steve and Ricky are great guys! Honest, reliable, and efficient service each and every visit. Will NOT have you spending lots of money on unnecessary repairs. There s a reason this shop has been around for nearly 60 years. Can t say enough positive things about this shop and these guys. Very highly recommend.

Steve Messer knows transmission work and offers warranty. Family business local.I'm happy with the rebuild..new tax on labor isn't that great ..and he hates charging customers for it.

Was super lucky to have found these wonderful guys!! We were stranded in Raleigh with a Van and no Transmission. They got us up and running in one day and back on the road! I would recommend their work to anyone.. Very nice guys to boot! Will so go back and visit next time I get in town.

These guys are the best. They are extremely honest and tell you if they can't help you. I've used them several times. I took a vehicle to them and they did their best diagnosis even though they were unable to help. The location is a little hard to find because it's located behind a building on Person Street. There are narrow driveways or alleys to get into and out of the business. Highly recommend them if you have transmission issues.

These guys are awesome. Not only did they fix my transmission cooling lines with custom tubing they also replaced my oil pan filter. Great shop!!!

They fixed my transmission, where ever other shop said it needed to be replaced/rebuilt. I have now driven it for 3 years with no issues.
