I had a very good experience here. Tom was very helpful with answering any questions I had about the pre-purchase inspection process. They were able to get the car I was looking at in the same day and did not take long at all to do a thorough inspection of the vehicle. They found that the car was in mostly great shape besides a missing tail light and one of the passenger door actuators was broken(the motor that locks the door, kind of a big deal and about a $600 repair). I was so thankful that I took the car in to be inspected here prior to buying! The dealership agreed to fix all issues free of charge and I ended up buying the car feeling much more confident about my purchase!

Small shop hidden away from the main road but a total hidden gem. The techs are honest and do great work. Great place to bring your car for inspection too.1 year later, time for an updated review! Seems there's a new owner who is very nice and WOW, the new decor! They did a great job renovating the waiting room and office.

[2012 Toyota Camry, 114K miles]Brought in based on a referral... they had been a long-standing customer and I can understand why:Such a huge relief to find great and reliable service! Brought the car in due to really bad squeaking that made it sound more like a school bus than a car. They promptly identified the problem: front and back brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced. A couple hours later (and for less than $1K) car rolled out without a peep! Thrilled to get rid of the school bus screeches.Tomas and his team are highly recommended!!!!

I went out of my way to find a reliable place, because it's worth driving a little further for a trustworthy mechanic. I found it.I've been exclusively getting service here for a couple years, and they have always been reliable, done good work, and answered all my questions. I'll ask questions with nothing to do with my repair and they give honest answers. Their advice has also saved me a lot of money on service. They don't do unnecessary work and they explain your options clearly and openly.Services: Transmission, Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Exhaust, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto detailing, Brakes, Air conditioning, Auto interior vacuuming, Battery, Oil change

Brought my car in for service today. I get really good vibes from this shop. Aside from being quick, friendly, and very reasonably priced, there were no surprises, hidden fees, up-sells, or any other shenanigans.This place was recommended to me by my brother who has only been there a handful of times, the most recent of which was years ago (because he moved.) And yet, when I told the owner (I think it was the owner) that my brother recommended this place, he said "oh you mean Ryan?" Not too shabby.This place definitely has my business.

Thomas and his team are the best. I come from Durham anytime I need any work done. My extended family and I have been coming here for 10 years for all our car repair needs. The deal seeker in me always shops around to make sure I am getting the best deal ---and Capital Auto Repair continues to come out as the preferred choice. Fair and honest is the best way to characterize this business.

I have been bringing my cars to Capital Auto Repair for several years now. I have found Jay and Tomas to be the very honest and they are the best repair facility I have ever used in my 40 years of having cars worked on. They are very capable and their prices are very, very competitive. I have recommended them to friends and co-workers who have also been very pleased with the service they received. I can't recommend them highly enough. You won't be disappointed using them for your auto repairs.

Tomas and crew have really helped me a lot in the last few years. As a single parent with minimal auto knowledge, they have given me the peace of mind that my car is in good hands and will continue to run reliably. Recently I needed to find a used car for my son, who just got his license, they made sure that I knew I was purchasing a good first car for him and not a lemon. This sort of customer service is priceless and I will forever be grateful.

Took my vehicle to Capital Auto Repair because of all the positive reviews. I can see why so many are impressed after experiencing first-hand their honesty and quality service. They fixed a caliper issue caused by another shop and went the extra mile to make sure the rest of my braking system was in top shape. Recommended them to my parents and they too are very pleased with their work. Using them exclusively from now on and recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy mechanic.

You can trust Capital Auto. We have been customers for many years now and highly recommend this shop. Thomas and his crew are excellent mechanics!!! His diagnostic skills are superb. Old or sick cars can be expensive to maintain. Thomas has helped us make good decisions on when to invest in the repair of our vehicles and when to let them go to "car heaven". Their customer service is exceptional!!! Do it!!! Take your vehicle to Capital Auto where you'll get peace of mind.

Thomas is great! He is very honest I can promise you as well as he is extremely knowledgeable. You can rest assured you will not be overcharged on parts OR labor. Very fair repair costs compared to FOUR other repair shops I called in Raleigh within 20 miles, for my Avalon, I had to have cylinder coil #2 replaced, all of the other 4 shops quoted me in excess of $85 - $128 OVER HIS COST FOR SAME PART, and 2 were charging over and were not even offering an OEM part!! Thomas gave such a fair price for the cylinder coil, AND HIS PARTS WERE OEM!! His team is prompt, affordable, and I've never had an issue after leaving. Very happy I found a good Toyota mechanic, that is honest, and values their customers. Thank you again for being honest and fair.

My car broke down near Raleigh, NC. Fortunately, my car was towed to Capital Auto Repair and Services where my son has had a lot of work done on his cars. I could not be happier with the way I was treated there. Tomas and all the mechanics are top notch as well as honest, prompt and fair. I had a long drive ahead of me and received a call from Tomas making sure that I had arrived safely. What a wonderful thing to do! If you live in the Raleigh area you need to have Tomas and Capital Auto Repair and Services take care of your vehicles. It is a little out of the way but well worth it. You will not be sorry.

Thomas is the best mechanic in the area! He's incredibly honest, he'll let you know if it's not worth spending the money to fix an issue. My family has used this shop for over a decade now and we've always been satisfied with the service. I would HIGHLY recommend them!!

Thomas has always been our family mechanic. He has saved us money tones of times and even tells us when we are about to overspend or don't need a repair right away. Very friendly, honest, and fair. This is the only good mechanic In Raleigh hands down.

Absolutly recommend with zero hesitation. I have taken my vehicles to quite a few auto repair shops and have never been as satisfied as I always am with Thomas and his crew. Very honest and affordable and will make sure the job gets done right. I take both my vehicles there and push everyone I know to do the same. These guys are top notch. Thanks!!

I've used Capital Auto Repair several times and have always been satisfied with their work, and customer service. I recently brought my car her for repairs, and was informed it was fix. I picked it up, and the check engine light came back on before i got home. I returned the car after hours, and Tomas called me the next morning before I could call them asking very concern of what is the problem. Found out it was a defective part that was installed, and would be replaced same day at no extra cost. He stood by his word and car was fixed, and have been driving it since without any additional problems. I am very satisfied with their work and knowledge. I highly recommend them. Thanks Tomas.

I've been going to Capital Auto for over 8 years and they are by far the best from the quality of work and value. They fix what is needed never try to upsell you. Thomas is one of the nicest people you will meet and has a high level of integrity. We have three vehicles that are serviced by Capital Auto. Highly recommend A+++++

Like many, I am skeptical of online reviews. Are they real? Are they friends of the shop, etc. I saw Capital Auto's ratings and couldn't believe it. I called, got a fair price quote and thought, well, let's give it a go.The job was done when Thomas said it would be done. It was done at the price he quoted and he even performed a service as a courtesy because it was the kind/right/above and beyond thing to do.Do not be turned off by the location. It's tucked away off a small road that has clearly been traveled by many heavy industrial vehicles. The building is relatively nondescript and the sign for the shop itself is modest. But inside you will find your mechanic for life. I know I have.

I was referred to this business to get my Jeep's heat fixed, and I was impressed! They figured out the problem and quickly fixed it for an affordable price; additionally they were very polite and communicative. I felt like they were trustworthy and I will be returning if I have further auto repair needs in the future.

The best auto mechanics in the area......honest, skilled and reasonable. I took my car to two other places and both could not find the issue. Thomas diagnosed the problem right away and was fabulous to work with. Car is working great! Highly recommend!

Jay and Tomas at Capital Auto are great. They have serviced and repaired all my cars since 2009, and have done pre-purchase inspections before we spent money at the dealership. They have never tried to up sell me and have always been straight forward, and we refer family and friends to them with any auto repair or service need. Turn around is very quick along with great communication. Five Stars!

After reading the reviews I used this shop to inspect a car I was intending to purchase. Tomas was very thorough and offered excellent advice. You can tell he is an honest and thorough mechanic who believes in letting the customer make informed decisions. I will go there again.
