Brown's is the best! My wife and I have five vehicles and we take them all to Brown's for all regular maintenance. They have maintained two of my vehicles for years, each has over 250,000 miles. There's a reason why they still run like new - excellent service. We get our tires there as well. If you are looking for a high quality, honest automotive shop -- you've found it! 5+ stars

Excellent service, price and great communication. We live in Charlotte- our daughter is a student at NCSU. She was unable to get her car to start - we had no idea where to send her- she was given a referral to Brown's.They were great in assisting in her with a tow and taking care of the repairs within a few hours - thank you so much !!

Awesome place to get your automobile fixed, easy to work with and they do their best to fit you in. I was 10 hours away from home had a front bearing go out. They had me back on the road within 12 hours.

I had a great experience with Brian and his team recently and can attest that they stand behind their work. Browns was persistent in diagnosing and repairing a difficult pully/belt issue and Brian was super accommodating throughout the process. I will continue to drive past 5 repair shops to make sure I work with this family owned business!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment

If you are looking for an experienced, trustworthy and competentcar care business in the downtown Raleigh area, this is the place to go. I have been here frequently over the past 6 months to have regular maintenance as well as repairs done to my 14 year old (foreign) car. We discovered Brown's when we moved nearby a little over a year ago and cannot say enough about how amazing they are. They've done our inspections, oil changes, replaced a wheel hub, tire patch, and more. They're incredibly honest and kind. I come from a family of mechanics and it was hard to trust anyone after moving 700 miles away over a decade ago, so finding Brown's was quite the gift. New to NC. Had to get wheels aligned with new tyres. Brown's didn't have an appointment during my tyre change and had to get it done at Firestone. Alignment was still off and Firestone wasn't able to figure it out and said it was alright.Then, I brought it to Brown's. They are the experts, they were able to feel my complaint of pulling to the right. Understood the issue and fixed it and explained me the issue. Very satisfied. They really are good with alignment and customer satisfaction.Service: Wheel alignment

Short version: They seem to be an honest shop with down-to-earth folks.Long version: We were a walk-in without any advance notice. After explaining the issue (some vibration when accelerating past a certain speed after having recently gotten new tires), the lady at the front desk said she knew one particular mechanic who would be good for checking it out, but he wasn't available until next week. This could be a bit difficult, as my partner used this car for her job and was afraid to use it in the meanwhile without knowing whether it could get worse. Upon explaining this, they were able to get another engineer to perform a quick test drive on the spot. He confirmed that there was some vibration but gave us the assurance that it would definitely not be an issue to drive on it for a few days until they could look further. This assuaged a lot of our immediate fears about the situation.When we turned it in next week they quickly followed up shortly after the appointed hour and said the vibration was within reasonable bounds and not evidence of an issue that would require further work. They could have easily used our lack of familiarity with the situation to upsell an unnecessary service, and we probably wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. We ended up only having to pay a basic diagnostics fee, plus an oil change which we had also asked for. Even though our experience can't say anything about the quality of their repair work, it definitely is a good sign of their integrity. It may seem like I'm writing a lot for such a relatively minor event, but I had been looking for a trustworthy mechanic in the area for some time. This was for my partner's car, but if I ever see issues with my own I have definitely been convinced to also take it to Brown's.Services: Vehicle Inspection, Auto maintenance

I've been taking my 25-year-old Land Cruiser to Brown's for years. They are always courteous and responsive--and most importantly, they do great work at a fair price. They have done some significant repairs for me and I've never had any problems. They give good referrals for work they don't handle. They never try to sell me on work that I don't really need. Can't imagine going to another mechanic.

Felt compelled to write a quick review after the service they just performed for me. I had a slow leak in the rear tire of my BMW and needed my state inspection done. Their online appointment tool made it easy for me to get in quickly, and then their fantastic team took care of the rest. I always get nervous going into a new auto shop, but I can confidently say they have both integrity and fair prices here. I'll be back for all my repair needs in the future.

This is the best mechanic shop for all around needs I found in Raleigh. I went car shopping for weeks and drove 7 vehicles to numerous places. In my search, I experienced a wide variety of managers (talented and otherwise) and technicians/mechanics (experienced or otherwise). This place gave the most comprehensive pre purchase inspection I have ever received, and answered all of my questions immediately and thoroughly. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. Honesty and experience are what I look for when I need auto care, and I found it.

I have taken both of my Mustangs to Brown's in the last few months for repair. Both times I have been able to get an appointment quickly, and the repairs were finished the next day. The work was done perfectly and at a reasonable price. Very friendly and professional service. It is so nice to be able to drop off your vehicle and trust that the repairs will be done correctly and you will not be ripped off. Thanks guys!

Have had both my Subarus serviced and repaired here and I keep coming back. You can tell these guys are honest and do a good job. Fair pricing, won't push stuff on you if you don't need it yet, and good communicators as well. They seem to take pride and ownership in their work. Highly recommended, and they do a lot more than just alignments as well.

I usually take my car to these guys for a regular oil change and service. They always give me an honest, upright and the best quote on things that need to be done/fixed in my car. Most recently, I had to get my NC inspection for registration renewal. They did mention that they were fully booked for the day, but when Brian realized that it was my last day to get my NC state inspection, he took my car and got it done though they were fully booked for the day. These guys are the best and the most helpful auto repair shop in town!Service: Oil change

After visiting two other mechanics for trouble with my 10 year old car, with a couple thousand in expenses already wracked up, I was referred to Brown's by a co-worker.I have to say, they were polite, helpful and patient. It's very obvious speaking with the mechanics that they know what they are talking about and have experience diagnosing complex problems. They don't sugar coat it.My tech told me that they couldn't pinpoint exactly where the problem was, but shared his honest opinion on the likely issues involved given the number of miles on the vehicle. He said that while he could offer to repair different items in hopes that it might fix the problem, it was probably better to either just keep driving until the issue became more obvious or trade it in if I needed something more reliable. They even told me they didn't notice much of an issue with the engine despite that meaning less money for them.When I went to pay, they told me I didn't owe anything despite the 1-2 hours they spent on it. I even tried to tip and they wouldn't take it.I will DEFINITELY be back! Good, Quality Shop here. You won't be disappointed.

I called today to get a pricing on a 4 wheel alignment. The gentleman (Brian)on the was very honest and kind. They will be one of my places to keep in mind if needing car work.Update: I came to get my car (Butter ) axle fixed. And they did a wonderful job. And a reasonable price. While they rest of these sorry mechanical shops will try to charge 2legs and a arm. The Big Plus for me was the honesty.!!!!Service: Steering & suspension repair

We have been taking our vehicles to Brown's for over 12 years. You will not find a nicer, more efficient or more experienced staff anywhere else. They treat us like family! Highlights - Honest, hard working, a American family-owned company, friendly, knowledgeable, very reasonably priced, timely, take pride in doing good honest work, can pretty much fix anything - (or will give you wonderful references if they don't have the equipment to do so), will never try to sell you something you don't need, always offer solutions and explain everything in detail so you can make informed decisions. The list goes on...and I can honestly say, I have NOTHING negative to say. They have been truly remarkable to work with over the years and I recommend them to everyone that I speak with who needs assistance with any vehicle work/repairs. You will not find a more exemplary staff devoted to serving you as their customer in relation to car repairs and maintenance. Bryan, Scott, Ann, Ace, Chris - keep up the excellent work!! Your reputation speaks for itself!

So our first visit to Browns was great. We had excellent service and were happy that they were open at the time to get our work done. Very professional and friendly atmosphere. They performed excellent and timely service on my car. They were very kind and knowledgeable both on the phone and in person. I appreciated receiving a phone call from them before they made any changes. And they saved me money by repairing a part rather than suggesting I order new ones. As a first time customer, I was very pleased!

So, my Christmas gift to all the good folks at Brown's is this five star review. Brown's has been taking care of my cars for years and has always treated me with respect and fairness. Just relocated back to Raleigh area and am pleased to have found Brown's. Had purchased a new set of tires at a national tire store chain and was surprised to find they didn't do alignments. They referred me to Brown's. Brown's put it on the lift and noticed a minor issue which should be addressed before aligning. As a 'shade tree mechanic', they showed me what needed to be done and offered a tip or two on how to do so. Going back in this am to get the alignment and looking forward to another positive experience.

My non mechanically savvy friend came here to get an AC hose replaced. They ended up charging $196 for a 15 minute AC inspection to tell him his AC compressor was broken and needed replaced, as well as charging him for freon that instantly leaked out of the broken AC hose. Broke my heart to hear how dishonest they were.

I've used Brown's for years now. They are great. Very honest, upfront and reasonably priced. When anyone asks me for my recommendation for car repair or maintenance, I always say "Brown's Alignment".

They are the best. They really care for their customers and they do their job right. Take my word for it as I m a man who loves working on his car and I understand car mechanics well. I can for sure tell if the technician is doing his job right or not and at Brown s shop they do their job 100%

Be prepared to have a bunch of greasy finger prints deposited all over your vehicle and interior. They don t bother washing their hands when entering your vehicle nor do they have the simple courtesy of placing down a paper floor mat. I had to spend an extra $150 to have my interior steam cleaned. If they cut corners on simple courtesies like washing their hands, what else are they skipping out on?Service: Wheel alignment

I first went to Brown's in the 1980's and then started going again once I moved back to the area. They fix what's broken and they never try to upsell. If they find something wrong with my vehicle, they tell me if it's something that needs to be fixed right away or something that I can safely put off. It's a great family owned business. I like them and trust them.
