I've brought two classic cars to Avec for alignments and have been extremely happy with the care and expertise demonstrated by Andy and his staff. It's challenging to find anybody qualified (and willing) to work on older vehicles these days. Also, I love that it's a family owned small business. Keep it up, Avec!

Excellent work on my 25-year old Jeep. Fast, professional and absolutely not expensive. I only wish they were a bit closer to town. But they're a pleasure to deal with and I know my truck is in good hands.

Nex customer! I came in and had power steering leak concerns. I was informed by a previous shop in Carrboro I had a leak in the power steering pump, needing replacement. I read reviews on AVEC and decided to Gove them a shot. Andy and Eric saved me $635. Not only did I not need a power steering pump, the oil pan gasket was replaced by the previous shop and there was a leak at the oil plug and the oil filter. I have two vehicles. I'm more about building a relationship with a shop that is trustworthy. Thank you both.

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Have kept our very old cars running. Trustworthy and they go above and beyond. I have been using AVEC for at least the past 10 years. Great people.

Eric did a great job communicating the issues with me and making sure my Mercedes was well taken care of. Very grateful for the shop and top tier service. Shoutout to Carolina arbors (also my grandparents) for referring me to them!

I had a fantastic car repair experience with AVEC Service Center. The nearby Chevy dealer could not get me the parts they said I needed due to the UAW strike. I decided to take my car to AVEC so they could source aftermarket parts and get my car back on the road. AVEC was able to repair the existing part and saved me $1200 on the dealer estimate. Had a problem with the check engine light flashing in my school van that transports kids daily on Wednesday afternoon. . Safety first, needed to be checked out Kim told me to come by the next morning and they would fit me in.Diagnosed the problem and set a course of action for repair. Thank you AVEC, appreciated.Good people and honest repair work.

AVEC could not have been more responsive! We've had several cars serviced there and never hesitate to return. Service is fast, they always follow up with a phone call when done, and we will continue to use them!

My family has been using AVEC for numerous years and various car models. It is difficult to find this level of professionalism and technical abilities, even when challenged with a 'mystery' of electrical / security system problems. Definitely 5 stars!

There's an old saying that you can have something fast, cheap, or done well, but you can't have all three. Well, Avec has done the impossible--every time my wife and I have come here, they have had fast turnaround, done good work, and it has been a fair price! The customer service is good as well.What more can you ask for?UPDATE: we ve moved across town, and Avec has treated us so well that I am driving 20-30 minutes to get our cars serviced here. Avec is the best place I ve been to get a vehicle worked on. They are honest, dependable, and friendly. Johnny, Cole, and Andy all do a great job (as well as all the guys I haven t met)

Kim was very rude answering my questions on cost per hour. I was simply trying to understand how much my car would cost to bring in and she had the worst attitude about it and just said are you going to schedule the appointment and do the math yourself . I don t feel comfortable even bringing my car here if they can t explain their prices. I ve decided to not even going to bring my car in because of the poor customer service I received.

I have taken my car to Avec several times for oil changes, inspection, and repairs. They've always done a great job in a timely fashion. They've never suggested I need extra (and costly) repairs. I like their online appointment scheduling; it is very convenient. The owners and mechanics are very pleasant.

AVEC has done a great job on my >20 year old vehicles. Twice has found minor problems/fixes when major repair was anticipated. Once reduced actual repair cost to 50% of initial estimate. Honest. Trustworthy. Reliable.

Read favorable NextDoor reviews so I chose this place to get my car inspection completed prior to annual registration. One thing you should know is that it is best to call and schedule an appointment first. When I returned for my appointment they were friendly and extremely helpful. Answering all my questions without any hesitation. When I am ready for a tune up I will return and I hope to establish a long term relationship with these guys.They have some really cool metal welding sculptures on site and I love the checkerboard floors!

Did a great job alignment my 73 jeep. Also diagnosed a fuel system problem. Very reasonable as far as cost, and were honest about what was fixed and what problems I have with the vehicle that need attention. Would definitely recommend.

Friends of mine had recommended AVEC since they'd been having their vehicles serviced there for years. They said the team at AVEC never came back with "Oh, while we were changing your oil we noticed you need new brakes, new seat covers, and your radio tuned." They only did and suggested what was necessary to keep their vehicles running at peak performance for the short and long-term and their staff was kind, friendly, and "treated them better than family."I found out for myself all of those things are still true about the team and the service at AVEC.I'll be taking my car there for everything -- even that radio tuning when the time comes :)Service: Oil change

Kim was great - got me scheduled, made sure I knew what was going on during the day, and got us checked out promptly once my car was finished. As a "first time" customer of Avec ... I couldn't be happier with quality of service and professionalism of Andy and his staff. They inspected and replaced squealing engine belts on my 1979 Bronco XLT. They are extremely efficient, I arrived at 8:30 am and picked it up at 3:45 pm the same day. I highly recommend this auto service shop to anyone... simply put, these folks are the best!

Expensive!! We brought in our Hyundai due to a clicking sound in the steering wheel. We had already called and gone to another shop for a quote, so we knew the issue and were just looking to get a second estimate as to how much it would cost to have it fixed. This shop quoted us $200 more than the other shop ($550 vs. $350). Given the price difference, we declined to have the service carried out here, and then received a bill for $75 for the diagnosis. While we certainly understand shops charge diagnostic fees, as it requires time to diagnose an issue, we were surprised by the amount given how common an issue it was. The other shop we ultimately used actually told us the specific issue on the phone when we called to make the appointment, and AVEC confirmed the same issue (and also emphasized how common it is). Given such, I was surprised to be charged $75 for them figuring out an issue we were already aware of and that I believe they knew was the issue right away. That plus what would have been an additional $200 for the actual work to fix the car will result in me not choosing this shop moving forward.

So far so good!I ve been bringing my car to Avec for about 2 years now and I can say that I trust this group. Trust is a big deal for me with mechanics because if I feel like I m being raked over the coals I ll just pack up and try someone else.At avec they ve had many opportunities to rake me over the coals. I seem to have the must mundane, easy to solve car problems with my Sonata and they ve always just cut to the chase and fixed my issues after a quick diagnostic. One time they literally just snapped my newly installed signal lights in a bit more tightly and charged me like $15 because it was such a simple little problem.Recently I had a very sudden sputtering with the car, turns out it s the spark plugs need to be replaced, very easy fix. The cost was pretty high, but I also knew what I was getting into and they have to make money somehow, so I wasn t bothered by it. They gave me every opportunity to back out and do it myself but i just wanted it done.This has been a good local mechanic, non-dealer that I ve recommended to many people and hope they see booming business in the crazy used car market that we re in today.

I was always frustrated with the high prices, the upselling, and the lack of transparency. At AVEC, I always feel like I am getting a fair deal and that I am being treated with respect.I have had a variety of services done at AVEC, from oil changes to major repairs. Called for a tow truck they recommended, he came out and started my car..which was great. Got it to Avec at the end of the day, very nice of them to wait for me. It was ready by noon, I was very happy to keep my 18 year old Corolla running.I plan to go to Avec for all my maintainence. Highly recommend Avec.

So far have only needed routine maintenance, including oil changes. Prices are commensurate with others, scheduling is very easy, service is always performed efficiently and on time, and business gives me every reason to keep returning. I love supporting a locally owned business! For me, the location is quite convenient and customer service is tops!
