Called in to speak about an active warranty, Jerry first tried to tell me my vehicle wasn't serviced there, and then went on to tell me that the active warranty on my transmission was not going to be honored. I'm not sure who signs his paychecks but he is a liability. Yes of course you will hear back from me , I trusted the location because of the aamco franchise, this location is making the franchise look very sketchy.

I had a major issue with my recently purchased car's transmission. After visiting 2 repair shops and calling 2 others (that were on the warranty provider's list). None would attempt the repairs. AAMCO (Capital Blvd) agreed to work with the warranty provider to make the necessary repairs. The manager, Jerry I., was courteous and friendly. He helped me understand the problem and the nuances of a CVT transmission. The repairs were completed in 2 days with no drama or hassles and $0 paid by me.

I have had multiple positive experiences with Jerry and the AAMCO team. They are prompt, responsive, and informative. The best in the area for transmission issues and I will continue to work with them for years to come.

Jerry at the Aamco shop on 3912 Capital Blvd was a pleasure to deal with. Truck went in the shop, problem was diagnosed and fixed the same day. He was very professional and the team there was wonderful. Thanks Jerry and I will be bringing any transmission issue straight to you. Thank you for your time and quickly responsive to my truck issue!

Jerry and the Aamco team took incredible care of us and replaced our transmission promptly. The price estimate they gave us early in the process was the same number they charged us at checkout, even with a few unexpected problems and a very faulty transmission in a big truck. They stand behind the work with a 3-year warranty, and If I ever have transmission issues again, I guarantee you I will go back here. 5 stars, easy.

If I could give this shop, Jerry, and team 10 stars, I would. I cannot say enough good things about them. They are transparent with what is wrong with your car and never try to pull one over on you or charge you anything extra than what is appropriate. I had one shop tell me I needed a full transmission rebuild and after Jerry looked at it, he told me it only needed a clutch and it saved me 3K. Brought my car to him a second time when I was having a coolant leak. The first shop charged me $420 and didn't even fix it, when I brought it back a second time they wanted to charge me another $460. Once again, Jerry took a look at it and said it was an easy fix they should have seen the first time. Fixed it on the house. I will only bring my car to this shop with any issues in the future. It is very hard to find such a reliable and honest shop.

Jerry at the capital blvd location was extremely helpful! We are so very thankful for him and his team as when they say it rains it pours. Our transmission went bad on our work truck and he helped us go through the process of getting a new one installed. It was even completed before we were expecting it to be which was so very helpful! We highly recommend jerry if you have any transmission issues with your car or truck. Thank you all again for the wonderful help and getting us back up and running again. May you and all your team be blessed with health & prosperity.Service: Transmission

The mechanics at AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care have serviced my work vehicle on a couple of occasions. The first time my vehicle broke down with transmission issues and had to be towed to their shop. It was later in the day and they were nice enough to wait a few extra minutes for me to get to their shop so they could lock my vehicle in the shop overnight. The next morning they diagnosed my vehicle and immediately ordered the transmission my van needed. The transmission arrived the next business day and the mechanics were able to install it that same day.Another time my van's check engine light came on and I took it to AAMCO. The mechanic checked the code and told me I needed a new ignition coil/spark plug. He immediately had service begin on my van and it was ready in 3 hours.I live almost an hour away from this shop but don't mind the inconvenience of the distance too much because the service and value is worth it. They seem honest and do not try to push unnecessary services on you. Thanks AAMCO for helping me keep my work vehicle serviced so I can keep my business running!

I had heard this place was the best place to take your Jeep Wrangler. I was not disappointed. The work was top notch and the service was spectacular. They went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied with the work. Seriously impressed and appreciative that I was sent here. If you need work done this is the place you wish for. Honest and excellent. Will be my default mechanic going forward.Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

Jerry at AAMCO was prompt on getting my car in to be looked at and figured out the problem, same day service and was fixed by the end of the day. I would 100% recommend them and will return if any future problems arise.

I brought my vehicle to this AAMCO location after my car spent a week in a different shop. The previous shop wrongly diagnosed my issue as a transmission problem, and had quoted me a full transmission replacement.I brought it in to AAMCO expecting to do a full transmission rebuild. I did not have an appointment but they worked me into their schedule. As it turns out, the previous shop had installed parts incorrectly and they were misdiagnosing my problem based on their own mistakes. Jerry and the team at AAMCO fixed the other shop's mistake and correctly diagnosed the actual problem as a wheel bearing. Despite me not having an appointment, and just dropping it in their laps unannounced. Jerry and the team had the vehicle repaired and returned to me within 24 hours.I highly recommend this shop based on their knowledgeable staff, great service, and honesty.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

It takes a lot to get a 1 star in my book so here is the story.I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra with 180,000 miles on. I am no self-proclaimed car mechanic but also know that there is no such thing as blinker fluid. I do my own car maintenance for the most part and rarely require a mechanic. I made a mistake when I was changing my oil and drained off some transmission fluid and overfilled my oil as I was not paying close attention.Enter AAMCO. I had the truck towed to AAMCO as I had only driven about 10 miles when I realized my error as I was having difficulty shifting at higher RPMs. I requested they drain the excess oil and refill the transmission fluid, something I could not do because the '05 Tundra has a closed system transmission (only serviceable from the underside with a special tool). My problems with AAMCO began when Matt called to update me on the truck. I quote, "We refilled the fluid and changed the oil and it is not looking good. I test drove it and it is still having problems shifting in lower gears. I couldn't even get into the highest gear. This transmission is hurt and it needs to be replaced. It's not going to get you to and from work the way it is. You're looking at a rebuild or a used replacement." He then proceeded to only talk in depth about the replacement, which he insisted was the best option because "there's only 1 used '05 transmission on the market right now and I can get it for you today. I can't guarantee it will be there tomorrow so take an hour or so to think but we need to buy this today. If you go to the dealer and talk to them and come back tomorrow and that one is gone, I can't do anything for you" He proceeded to pressure me to buy the used transmission same day until we got off the phone. I told him I would seek a second opinion, which he countered with, "You can go anywhere you want. Please do! I know you're going to come right back to me once you hear they're prices. These transmissions don't fail often, but when they do, it happens like this everytime. And once again, if that used transmission is gone when you come back, I don't know if I can help you." I decided to go to Leith Toyota down the road and pick up the truck that night. At first, the eagerness to help can seem nice, personal, and attentive, making you feel like he has your best interest in mind. However, that changes when the pressure continues after we hung up as Matt proceeded to leave 2 MORE VOICEMAILS with no new info, just further encouraging me to say yes to the used transmission that day. As you can imagine, my blood almost boiled over at 11 PM that night when I picked up the truck (the truck I was told would not get me to and from work) to drive it to Leith Toyota and had a perfect drive 5 miles up Capitol. In those 5 miles, I tested everything I knew to test on the transmission- slow starts, hard accelerations, keeping it right at 56 mph to make it decide what gear it needs to be in, above 70 mph driving, etc. WITH NOT ONE PROBLEM.Leith performed their diagnostics on the system and found no problems aside from normal wear and tear after 180,000 miles. No talk of replacement, rebuilding, etc. They confirmed there were no concerns with the transmission and said it had plenty of life left in it.2,000 miles later, my 2005 Toyota Tundra is doing great with no signs of shifting problems, transmission issues or anything of the sort. AAMCO did apparently fill the transmission fluid and oil to the right levels as I have had no problems since but have definitely lost my business in the future as Matt clearly tried to make a simple fluid change/fill up/diagnosis from a genuine mistake into a money-making opportunity. I'd like to believe he does good work- it did not show in my first and final encounter with him and his business.Update: 45,000 miles later, still using the same transmission with absolutely ZERO problems.

I can't say enough about how good this place as an auto shop. Matt the owner is direct, honest, and genuinely invested the wellbeing of his customers. As a manager, they don't come better than Jerry. If you are in need of a good mechanic at a reasonable price, do not hesitate to give this place a shot. They have earned my business because of their professionalism and solid work.

They changed the transmission of my truck a couple of months ago in this place I paid for the best option recommended by these people because it included everything totally new and a guarantee but a couple of months later my truck had the same problem for which I changed my old transmission.# first visit I returned to this place after calling and confirming an appointment for Monday when I arrived . They did not check my truck the receptionist He told me that he did not have mechanics that he had a lot of work that the mechanics were sick. I said why didn't you call me to cancel to not waste my time? I asked him when I can come back. He told me next Monday I'll make sure they check it out well and find the problem. I said okay.# second visit to this placeI asked my wife to take the truck to the local they had the truck for 4 hours the result of the diagnosis according to them was a damaged sensor or the gear lever but nothing wrong with the transmission I said it is very strange because the problem is the same why did you change my old transmission he insisted that no.I made the decision to have my truck diagnosed by another mechanic and the result was that it was something inside the transmission.#third visitI returned to this place for the thirteenth time. I spoke to the receptionist. I told him you checked my truck and diagnosed that the problem was not the transmission, but something else. Other mechanic said that it the transmission, the receptionist told me that they never made a diagnosis that the owner just touched the gear lever and thought that was the problem. I told him that I had brought my truck to be diagnosed, not for his boss to touch it. And he made a decision without really checking it. He asked me to bring my truck again Monday for a fourth time for a real diagnosis.today my truck is in this place for the fourth time I hope that this ovation my experience is better than the previous ones and that they give me a reliable answer

I've been a mechanic for over 15 years. This is one of the amazing shops you hear about....but never find. I can't believe I found them, and how good they really are.I broke down over a thousand miles from home and in an urgent need to get a quick fix. My vehicle got dropped off after hours, and they called within 30 minutes of opening to tell me what was wrong and gave a price. They had the vehicle done the SAME day. Especially amazing considering I had an extremely rare and odd failure.I was in a PRIME position to get taken advantage of, or have to pay extreme fees. Their pricing was more than fair, and the shop was fair, honest, timely, and professional.Quality of work appears to be superb. To the team there, from the bottom of my heart, I extend a most sincere Thank You.

Want to give a huge shout out to the wonderful guys at this shop for getting my 3 children and I back on the road. While camping at our favorite place, my truck didn't seem right. Having to head home , (500 mile drive, with a 6000 pound camper) I went to a shop near by. Told it was my transmission. Well long story short, I found this shop Aamco with the most amazing team!!!. They worked hard, rebuilding my transmission and getting the extra work needed done and had us on the road and heading home within 48 hours! My truck has never towed or driven so nice since I bought it 2 years ago, used.. made it home , safe! Thank you guys so much!! Yes I trust all who worked on my truck to work on any vehicle my family might be in!!!..Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

I brought my car here after it was making some weird noises and stuttering, and I am so happy that I did. Steve was the gentleman that I was in contact with while they looked at my car and he was very professional, honest, and direct the entire time. Everything happened exactly when they told me it would happen (looking at my car, calling me back, etc.) as well as they did everything in their power to help me out. Another gentleman, Matt, called me and told me he was in contact with a Nissan dealership that still had my car under a warranty I did not know about. Pleasant the entire time, I will come back if I ever need to. Would rate above 5 stars if I could.Service: Transmission

I cannot say enough about Matt and his team. We took our car in to a chain mechanic and were told the dreaded "T" word (transmission). Luckily the mechanic did not work on it so after a bit of research we called Matt. Based off my wife's conversation with him he had a pretty strong idea of the issue. I test drove the car with him minutes later and he explained the issue and the fix which was nowhere as bad as what we feared. Before we were even back in the shop he had the parts ordered. The problem was fixed right away. We saved thousands and are so pleased with the work. We have found our mechanic and highly recommend this AAMCO to anyone in need of work on their automobile.Service: Transmission

Great professional business. Very trustworthy mechanical services for my car. They were very understanding to help me yesterday with my starter even though they were booked all day. They fixed my car very quickly and provided a cost breakdown (before starting working on my car). They were very professional and didn't take advantage of the fact that I am an unknowledgeable female when it comes to mechanical issues and cars. Matt was very patient and communicative and explained everything in detail so it would make sense to me. He even provided me with a discount to fix my brakes at his Cary location. I will definitely use this business again as I am very satisfied with the outcome and their professionalism. Thank you Matt and your team for helping me out! I am very grateful!

Matt and his team went above and beyond to help me with my POS. Not only did they fix EVERYTHING, they explained in detail to help me better understand what was going on. I m never going anywhere else and highly recommend this place to anyone who doesn t want to get ripped off. I had taken my vehicle to two places prior to aamco and they were both unable to fix it. When you take your car here, they ensure that you are not going to bring it back. Super thorough, kind, and genuine people here. Thank y all!!!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I was told by local dealership that i had a blown head gasket. I was looking at a large repair expense. My daughter recommended Matt take a look. He diagnosed the problem completely different from the dealership mechanics. With his many years of experience he knew symptoms of a head gasket problem and my vehicle did not display these symptoms. instead of a used engine replacement or very expensive repair, he fixed the issue with the car and charged a nominal repair charge. I don't write many reviews but am happy to do so here. This guy knows what he is doing and he's honest. If you have issues with your vehicle, do yourself a favor and contact Matt.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Matt and the technicians are the best in the business! We had a 2002 Ford Explorer that needed a transmission. Matt and the guys treated my car as if it was their own. Now my 2017 Chrysler Town and Country needed a transmission. The dealership wanted to charge us double. What Matt charged. Matt and the guys are the best.Services: Transmission, BatteryServices: Transmission, Battery

This is my 2nd time working with them and they are awesome! Steve who always answers the phone is friendly and efficient. I also spoke with Matt the owner and he is super honest, always gave me a quote before fixing anything and they got everything fixed in incredible time!!! I really appreciate doing business with them as I have had poor experiences with other car mechanics in the area. I will absolutely continue to work with them for all my car needs! 5 star service and transmission repair! These guys are honest and do solid work. I had to have transmission work done on my Ford Edge. Dealership charged me hundreds more for a torque converter replacement and also pushed me to replace the transmission. Glad I shopped around and called Aamco. These guys did the work in half the time and for hundreds less. They were even kind enough to come and pick me up at the car rental place when my car was done since I did not have a ride. Top notch service and great professionalism. Highly recommend this business, I will continue going to Aamco for all my auto needs. Thanks Matt and Steve!!

We had out KIA Sorento serviced by Matt and his team and they were excellent! I called on a Friday morning, Matt said bring it in to be diagnosed that day. Both my Catalytic converters were GONE! Matt called his people for parts and prices and not only did he have it fixed and ready to go within 4 hrs, he saved us A TON of money! I mean like $1500 +. I have been telling everyone I know how HAPPY we were with him and his staff and how they took care of us. This was our 2nd time coming to his establishment. Do not hesitate, you car will be in GREAT hands! Thank you Matt!

For better or worse your experience may vary....I took my car to (unnamed place) for an oil change and was told that my transmission fluid was a dark color and needed to be changed/flushed. I sat on that info for a few weeks and decided to call around for 2nd opinions. Called AAMCO and spoke with Matt. He explained the situation to me and gave me good advice that was against him making money. That alone tells me that these are folks who are about helping and not making a quick buck on unsuspecting drivers. Can't thank Matt enough.

When my car "died" in Wake Forest, I had it towed to a shop in Raleigh that wasrecommended by the tow truck driver. I suspected transmission problems basedon the symptoms, and that was quickly affirmed by the shop. Cost to repair it was quoted at about $4500 to swap out the existing transmission with a rebuilt one. Turn around time was several days, depending on the arrival of the ordered part.I was ready to sign on until my son - realizing how high the estimate was - called around and found AAMCO. Their original estimate before seeing the car was lessthan half of the first. They picked up my car promptly and towed it (with no charge) to their shop. Later that day I got a call that the transmission was not the problem at all. My total charge ended up being less than $400 for replacing a drive shaft and the car was finished the same day!!I cannot say enough positive things about my whole experience with AAMCO -They are efficient, courteous and honest!! I would never go anywhere else for transmission work, and would trust any referral from them for other work. Wouldn'tit be a great world if everyone shared their work ethic??

My daughters car was having known transmission problems, which I was able to determine from doing some research. I've done many brake jobs, tune ups, etc., but I knew better to leave this job to a professional. My trusted mechanic of many years recently relocated, so I had to bring the car to 3 different places for a diagnosis and estimate. Didn't feel comfortable with the first 2 places. Diagnosis and pricing were all over the place. Then I brought it to AAMCO on Capital Blvd. and met Matt. He was very knowledgeable. He knew exactly what the problem was. He made it very clear as to what I was going to get for price quoted. Quote was right in the middle of the other two quotes, by the way. Decided to have work done with Matt. They did a tranny rebuild and replaced a broken motor mount. No surprises, great work. I trusted Matt and crew to take care of my daughters car, and they delivered. Found my new trusted source for car repair. Not an easy task.
