Predatory pricing and low-quality repairs.I've been going to Doug's for years despite the continuous issues I've had, but my son getting an estimate recently for 3x what it was eventually was fixed for, at another shop, was final straw. Many of the items Doug's cited as needing repair were totally bogus. He indicated a battery was bad and needed to be replaced and seemingly hadn't even tested it as it was fine. Ironically, of all the bogus items he claimed needed fixing his "inspection" missed a broken headlight.When I took in my truck several years ago that actually had a bad battery, I got it back 3 days later and they said it was fine. They apparently never even tested it either. Still cost me $70. It wasn't fine. It died about a week later and I had to have it replaced in the middle of the Maine woods.Every other local shop is booked for 1-2 weeks but Doug's can get you in quickly. There is a reason for that.

Highly recommend Doug's Auto and am so happy they're close by. We've taken a couple of vehicles there for various services and are always happy. They have great customer service, are clear on repair options and cost estimates AND they often follow up the following week to make sure everything's working. 5 stars!

Do not go to Doug for any work. I had a parking brake cable rust loose on my car and they told me that my whole brake system gave out. They proceeded to tell me I needed rotors, pads, calipers, wheel hub, brake line, e brake cable, backing plate, etc, to fix the car. Doug's then charged me $4000 to fix a single brake cable. I took the same car to a different shop and sure enough it was literally only the parking brake cable that needed to be replaced not to mention being $3700 cheaper than what Doug's tried to charged me

These guys saved my bacon when I popped a tire only a few days ahead of a pretty lengthy trip across state lines! They got me in quick, their prices were fair, and their staff were friendly and helpful. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Chris was fantastic from the very beginning. We recently moved into the area and I was looking for a local place that I could feel comfortable developing a relationship with. I completely trust his knowledge and, just as importantly, his honesty.

I've been having my cars serviced here for a long time and always have a great experience. As a woman it's always stressful for me when I have to have work done on my car because I'm afraid of being taken advantage of. Doug is always very transparent and does great work. Thanks for another great service.

Everyone is always very nice and helpful here. I took my car in because I thought the brakes needed to be done. Turns out they didn't, I just needed some fluids. Grateful for honest mechanics!

Took it in to see if they did the work, discovered that they didn't, when found out what garage did do it, they gave it back to me so I could have it done under warranty. Nice to get honest help for a change.

Doug was able to get me in for an emergency same day diagnostic and repair. He was able to diagnose the problem quickly and was very upfront regarding the cost and timeline of repairs.The knowledge and customer service are ever prevalent in everything that they do. They have made a new customer!

Every time I call Doug s, they re always able to fit me in when I need. They work with my schedule so I m able to have my car when I need it, and when I describe to them what I need, they always address that exact problem. They never try to push anything extra on me and will only make suggestions if they think something will help my car last longer. They are all very nice and knowledgeable and I m happy to have them in the area!

I began having auto issues and, despite calling 3 other local shops, Doug's answered the phone and was incredibly helpful. I use my vehicle for personal and business use, therefore having a functional and safe vehicle was important. I also had financial issues, was upfront that I needed to know the issues with vehicle and price. Doug, the owner, was helpful and kind, and completely transparent with pricing. I cannot express in words how grateful I am to find an auto mechanic that I can and will always trust for my vehicle.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto brake repair, Tire rotations, Brakes

Doug's has been my go to spot whenever anything is needed for either of my vehicles for the last 7+ years since I moved to the area. Service is always great. They don't push any unneeded items. AMAZING AMAZING! I would give 10 stars if I could. Considering I live out of town and I needed to get back home, he was very considerate about assisting me even though they were already busy. I ended up having to sit in the lobby for a couple hours since I had no one to come get me. Doug was very nice and we exchanged several words. He made me feel welcome and I did not feel like a burden at all. I would highly recommend. The couple hours I was in the office, he stayed answering calls and he stayed busy. This would be my main place to take my car if I lived in this area.

I am extremely satisfied with the recent service I received from Doug and his technicians. I ve been a customer of his now for over 15 years. Not once have I been dissatisfied. In fact, even though I ve moved to a different city, I m happy to drive two hours to Doug s Auto for all my vehicles needs. I cannot recommend him highly enough.Service: Tires

A+ customer service!! Had a blowout on my trailer while coming through Pittsboro. Long story short Doug and his guys jumped right on it and got me back on the road with 2 new tires. And even gave me an old wheel and tire to have for an extra spare!! Wished this shop was in my home town!!Service: TiresService: Tires

I desperately needed a balance, remounting and cross rotation as I was having some issues. Doug (and team) took time to understand what was happening and resolved the issues. I know it s something minor but it went a long way when they also found a bad lug nut and replaced it. They road force balanced my tires and kept me updated with explanations. They checked diff fluids too. They re a personal group of guys and have always provided quick, yet quality service. Thanks Doug.Services: Tires, Tire rotations

Wonderful owner and team! Was moving cross country and had to deal with movers, storage units and the process of vacating my apartment in a 6 hour window. I was crunched enough for time when I saw I had a screw in my tire. Glad these guys saved the day by taking care of my problems on short notice.

We went in for an inspection and the Doug was really honest with us! He researched the best tires we would need and gave us a quote but also said we could shop around and come back. We decided to go with his shop because his quote was very fair for the market.

Did not love getting hit with the forced $43 Nationwide tire warranty on my tire purchase. I should have asked for a printed quote at the time of booking the appointment (my bad). When I picked up my car---after paying and seeing it on the receipt, I went back in to ask about the charge and was told, "it's built into our pricing because we have so many problems with people coming back and blaming us when they get a nail in their brand new tire." I asked if I'd be able to opt out in the future, and was told "no." I'll definitely be opting out of all future services for our vehicles.Update: The charge for the warranty was refunded. Tonya (from the office) reached out to me regarding my experience. Doug, the owner, did too. Tonya initiated the refund and chalked it up to a miscommunication between her and Chris (the guy who explicitly told me the warranty was built in and not optional), while Doug stated that warranty prices are definitely NOT built in to their prices. He was very apologetic that this happened. I believe that Chris knew exactly what he was doing and that it was deliberate and dishonest. I m just glad I checked my receipt and I really hope that other customers haven t unknowingly had the same experience. I do appreciate Doug's timely and professional communication and the refund on the unauthorized charge.Service: Tires
