Nicest people. Peace of mind. Had tie checked out for what looked like a nail or screw in the tire. They pulled it. Turned out it didn't go all the way through to cause an issue. Sent us on our way. There is no charge. Decent small town business practice

Had a dead battery. They came, got us started and then we went to the garage to get a new one installed. Great people, reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Fantastic service - fixed a flat tire for me on VERY short notice. Was camping in Ocracoke over July 4th weekend. Woke up with a flat tire - while packing up the campsite, I put on the spare tire and drove over to Jimmy s Garage. They broke someone free and plugged the tire within a few minutes. I was able to get on the road and catch the last morning ferry to Hatteras as planned. Very friendly and fast customer service - I was really impressed with their attitude. I don t think I ve ever tipped a garage before, but I did that morning!Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

Awesome Service and great people. Walked in with a huge screw in a tire on a Monday morning. As busy as they were, he took me right in and had it plugged and mounted back on our truck in approximately 15 minutes. Even though they were very busy and everyone needing his help, he did it all with a smile.

-i had what i thought were potentially serious electrical issues with my 2016 volvo. it would randomly just stop and everything would go blank then start up again. it was a leap of faith to continue with the vacation (wondering if i d be able to even drive off the ferry). i called from the ferry and they were able to get me in that same afternoon with the caveat that they could at least test the battery if nothing else. the young man who came out to test the battery (recently installed at volvo cars of cary. ahem), opened up the compartment and immediately saw that the connection to the terminal was loose and literally flopping off and on the battery, causing the random power interruption. he tightened the nut down and the car has been fine since.-thanks for saving our vacation!!-ps, the repair fee was nominal, esp considering they could have charged me almost anything. i can only imagine what the dealership would have charged to run a thousand diagnostic tests and replace unnecessary components and prob never admit what the real issue was.

Desperately needed a new battery to get home. Jimmy's had just what I needed...but pricey $168. Considering shipping to a barrier Island probably not too bad. Nice people, but it's like stepping back to the 50"s. They don't take credit cards or checks, and I don't walk around with that much cash. No website, no doubt no cell phones, or computers. They say there is Bank across the street where you might be able to get cash. But they are the only game in town. Wonder if they have a TV at home?

I would like to say thank you to one of the locals for pointing me to your shop. I was driving on the beach and had to find a place to air up at. The one gas station down the road the local mentioned has not had a working air pump in years so he told me to come here. I love the fact that the pump is tied into the air compressor in the station so it will fill up my tires really fast and it's cheaper than other areas. I filled up my tires from 30psi to 45 and still had plenty of time left over on the meter. Thank you for having air for people to fill back up after driving on the beach!!!

These guys were a great help with a tow off the beach after a dead battery. Also their air hose for airing up your tires is so fast you'll have it done within a couple minutes rather than 10+ minutes like other places. Highly recommend!

Our SUV wouldn t start one morning, the day before we had to head back home. Battery showed to be ok yet wouldnt turn the engine over. After we got a jump, we took it to Jimmy s and they checked the battery and the codes. Seemed to be a one-off situation as the battery checked out fine and all the error messages went away after the codes were checked. They didn t try to sell us on anything and when we asked what we owed they said nothing. What a wonderful place to get our vehicle checked out and back on the road. First off, Thank You!Car died on ferry from Hatteras. Jumpstart worked fine(thank you ferry crew). Our battery was about 4 years old. James provided me with information, tested it, and let me make the decision. There was NEVER any sales pressure or self-serving advice. *****He truly is there providing customer service...to serve the customer.***** I saw this same behavior with another customer while I was waiting, so it wasn't just me. I decided spending a few extra bucks to avoid any more mishaps would put my mind at ease. Reading online, most batteries in modern vehicles (2010 minivan in our case) don't last much beyond 3-4 years.So, 2 pieces of advice: 1)get a full vehicle checkup before you depart home including an OBD scan as well as battery health(CCA capacity), tire service life, light bulbs, trailer hookups, etc, AND 2) power down your radio, DVD players, air conditioning, and any other electronics run by or connected to your car while waiting for the ferry and ON the ferry. They'll kill your battery, especially if it doesn't have much life left in it. Then you'll be praying that you can make it home instead of enjoying your vacation.Understand though, if you've got a vehicle problem, Jimmy's Garage will get you on your way!

Repaired an oil leak some years back. I find I need a marine deep cycle battery on a Sunday. Read his reviews - yes totally agree he is super! Btw, his lack of interest in technology is refreshing. Jimmy and his employee Grant were great! Within minutes if calling the shop, Grant jumped started my 2015 Honda Civic with a bad battery, I was at the shop and new battery shortly thereafter. Thank you so much!

We've been coming to the island for 20 years and on 2 occasions had car trouble. Always good to find an honest and competent mechanic. If he can't fix it he'll know where the closest alternative is. Thanks Jimmy!!

These folks helped me get a brake line repaired right before the mandatory evacuation of the island before Dorian. We were almost stranded and they were able to help. I certainly hope everyone is okay down there!

1. FIXED IT WHEN THEY SAID! 2. DIAGNOSED CORRECTLY, THIS IS CRUCIAL IN REPAIRING YOUR VEHICLE THE "FIRST TIME" 3. BE PREPARED WHEN YOU SEE THE BILL YOU ARE GOING TO SEE SOMETHING YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IN QUITE AWHILE! A BILL THAT ISN'T A COMPUTER PRINTOUT WITH PREORDAINED PRICES! A BILL WITH "HANDWRITTEN" PRICES THAT ARE, WAIT FOR IT, (REALLY FAIR ) THE BILL WILL BE EXPLAINED AND THEY WILL ASK IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS! ONE GREAT OLD TIME GARAGE!!!!!
