Excellent location to ski resorts (Beech & Sugar). Tavern with live music was a treat! Good wine and beer selection. The Italian Restaurant next door is an excellent choice as is Luna s Thai a few miles away. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. However, the beds are full-size. They do provide clean towels each day if requested. However, housekeeping refused to make our beds the second day. The front office explained that beds are made only if housekeeping agrees to touch the linens. That seemed very strange and confusing as there were no personal items left on the beds. So overall housekeeping gets a low star. Staff is very friendly.

The Pineola is a cute little throwback to a simpler time, a motor lodge that knows what it is - a convenient, (relatively) affordable place for a family to sleep and get ready for their adventures. There are many amenities that I didn't get to use, based solely on the weather (I knew this going in). However, the taproom and adjoining games room were a very pleasant surprise. The staff was welcoming and thoughtful, the housekeeping was available and not intrusive. If I had one complaint, it would be that the TV size and signal were not the best, but you're not supposed to be hanging in your room anyway! The location is a great jumping off point for the local ski areas, as well as very convenient to Grandfather Mountain entrance. Nearby Italian was a hit, and breakfast at the Tartan shouldn't be missed. Special shoutout to the small coffee truck at the front, The Coffee Tin, this kept us going in the mornings and provided an easy treat for my son by serving hot chocolate as well.

This place was excellent after a day at Beech Mountain about 30 mins from the top of the mountain. The hotel manager Carolyn was so kind and gave us a free upgrade : ) The space was cozy and everything we needed. Super cool they had a vibrant taphouse with live music too. The bed was a bit firm and could use a mattress topper but other than that the Pineola is a gem!

We rented the tiny home for a quick 2 night stay to attend a local wedding. The atmosphere was so fun and inviting. The tiny home itself had everything we needed and was clean and comfy. The taproom was amazing since there's not much else going on close by. All the staff was friendly and all the patrons were just there to have a good time. I wish it had been less rainy/windy/cold so we could have enjoyed all the outdoor amenities a little more like the outdoor games and patio. We did enjoy the live music Saturday night! I will definitely stay there again.

We had a good time at The Pineola. We only stayed for a night but the rooms neat and tidy. Hot water in the bathroom, drains worked, towels looked clean and heater worked as expected. Some noise from the bar downstairs but nothing too problematic. Lot of tourist destinations at drivable distance, we were headed to sugar mountain skiing resort, which was only 15 mins away.

Our room was spacious. Hot water and heater worked great. There were a couple rocking chairs outside the room to hang out. Our favorite part was the Taproom where you could lounge inside or on the deck. There was free popcorn. Plenty of seating and games to play for families. There was wine or beer available. Would have been nice if they had a restaurant. You could sit on the deck with a fire pit. There was nightly music. New Year s Eve was fun. And it was out of the way from tourists but close enough to Sugar Mountain. The only critique is there was something on our coverlet that made us not want to use it. It wasn t a stain, it looked like mud or poop. And when we received fresh towels the second day, one of towels also had gunk on it. That was gross too.

The duplex cabin we stayed in was pretty! I will say that I wish the shower had better water pressure. Also the bathroom was clean but when you looked deeper there was hair from the previous people in spots like the corner, shower wall/corner, or on the hair dryer. I did appreciate the reception people reaching out explaining what to do since we were a late check in. However, unless I missed it there wasn t a map so we had no idea where our cabin was. Luckily the bar was open and I asked them. We would definitely stay there again though!

Had the pleasure of staying in cabin 123 the weekend of the 8th through the 11th. It was absolutely the best vacation I've had in a long time. My cabin was well-stocked and very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There was a local band (The Johnson Brothers) that played that Saturday night that was very good. The bar was a lot of fun and staff was very friendly. I met the owner, Danny, his son and several locals. They made me feel at home. Although I didn't see any other Blacks, everyone made me feel welcome. I intend to go back in June and enjoy another weekend trip. If you should be in the Grandfather Mtn. area, I highly recommend staying at The Pineola Inn. You won't regret it. Thank you to everyone who made that trip so special. 2 thumbs up!!!Nearby activities: Nice Italian restaurant nearby as well as a Mexican restaurant and general store.

Wish I could give more than 5-stars!! We camped here for 3 days & it was perfect! A very clean, well kept campground - wide, fresh gravel lots that were LEVEL! Full hook ups & very clean bath house. They even provided soap, shampoo, bath mats & towels in the bath house!Location is wonderful! Close proximity to Linville Caverns & Falls, Grandfather Mtn, Beech Mtn, Sugar Mtn, and Banner Elk. Lots of great hiking & waterfall opportunities nearby. We also took a day trip over to Boone for the breweries & to see Blowing Rock. The Tap Room has theme nights & live music on the weekends. We were there during the week & were able to enjoy trivia & game nights. It was very family friendly! Our 5yr old was welcomed without issue. Great local on-tap and canned beer options. Free all-you-can-eat popcorn made our little gal very happy! They also have a beer cave with lots of options. But these purchases are to-go only and cannot be consumed at the Tap Room. The facility staff was very accomodating & helped us locate a rare beer to bring home.We enjoyed the other amenities offered including propane fire pits & rocking chairs on the back porch, a basket ball & pickle ball court and walking the trails. There was a large grassy field behind our site that we kicked a soccer ball around in for hours. Our gal easily rode her bike on the campground roads & up to the office. We did not personally experience the hotel rooms but looking thru the windows, they appeared clean, up to date and well stocked. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the area!

The hotel location was awesome, on a pretty quiet street. It was super cool not having to really check in and check out was just as simple. The only bummer was no breakfast and although the brewery staff were fun and amazing, the no food was a bummer.Rooms: Nice clean room and I appreciated being on the end with no neighbors. Nice and quiet!

The Pineola didn t disappoint, it s a mountain lodge / resort in the mountains of western N.C.The room in the lodge where I stayed was reminiscent of a roadside motel with a queen bed, vanity with sink and separate toilet room with shower/tub.The room was clean and comfortable, stayed for one night. The queen bed was sufficient, although the three pillows were thin and flat, even stacked didn t amount to much. Plenty of hot water, great pressure with nice toiletries, the towels were fresh and soft.Enjoyed the Tap Room, and game night with the other guests staying in the lodge and campground. The Tap Room is a must visit kind ofplace, with its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Large selection of adult beverages and fresh popcorn. As for the location of The Pineola and area attractions, I can t answer that question. It s on the side of a road with a double yellow line. That must mean it s a road to somewhere.Overall, my experience at The Pineola was a good one, the value for the amenities offered and enjoyed was very good. Disappointed the weather didn t cooperate as I would have enjoyed playing some Pickleball.Rooms: The Queen room was a time-machine to the 80 s with a splash of technology being the flatscreen TV mounted on the wall. The furnishings were vintage. I enjoyed the throwback memory to roadside motels of the 80 s such as the Howard Johnson s.

RV sites are spacious and level. Water had good pressure and WiFi was strong. Bathhouse was clean and well stocked with toiletries. The tap room had a good selection of beer and wine, and the popcorn is free! Will be back next time we camp in the high country.Nearby activities: Lots of outdoor activities nearby, like Grandfather Mountain, ski slopes and plenty of hiking in all directions.

Our stay was short but really enjoyable. Everyone was so helpful and kind. The grounds of the Pineola were beautiful with the fall colors! We wish we could have stayed one more night to explore more and enjoy the live music that was scheduled for Friday evening. The coffee truck in the parking lot was such a delight! We met the nicest people who were in line ordering, in fact, we exchanged phone numbers with one and I'm sure we will keep in touch. If we are ever up that way again, we will definitely stay at The Pineola!

We had a wonderful experience. We camped our first night in one of the primitive tent sites. It was fairly quiet and we had some nice privacy from the other tent campers. After camping on Hump Mountain the next night, we came back and rented a room at the lodge for the final night of our trip. Everyone was incredibly friendly and there was some great beer on draft in the taproom. We will absolutely be coming back the next time we are in the area.Rooms: We stayed in a Deluxe Queen room. It was cozy and clean.Nearby activities: Tons of good hiking nearby. This place was only 15 miles from the Yellow Mountain Gap trailhead which leads to the Appalachian Trail. There are also some great waterfalls and an apple orchard within a 30 minute drive.Food & drinks: Free popcorn and a great selection of beer/wine in the taproom. They had a delicious coffee porter on draft and a great Black Mocha stout in a bottle. The beer cave had a good selection of more general lagers and IPAs.

We spent a relaxing weekend at the campground at The Pineola in our camper. What a great place! The grounds are well kept. Our site had a fire ring and picnic table. There is a lovely walking trail we explored with our puppy. We loved dropping in to the bar/restaurant where there was live music at night and cozy seating outdoors. We did have some competitive ping pong also! Will definitely keep this on our list as we love the Linville Falls area and visit each year!

This place meets all the criteria of a good time in the mountains. The campground part is so beautiful and has a couple of cool glamping cabins. A very nice on site tap room with beer and wine. All sorts of room options and guest laundry.Nearby activities: Many things to do in the area. A hiking, golfing, skiing meka

We stayed in the telluride tree house cabin. The bathroom was located downstairs. The toilet was disgusting. There were poop streaks all over the toilet. The shower had dirt in it and a dead spider. The complementary shampoo and conditioner bottles were empty. There were smudge spots all over the glass doors. You could tell that the bathroom was not cleaned prior to us coming there. Although the inside of the tree house was nice, I was really disappointed with the bathroom.

Improvements in the rooms have definitely been made through remodeling efforts. However, some details could be better to give a cleaner impression. The baseboards need to be recaulked and painted to remove a dirty appearance. The walls could be patched and painted in places.Noteworthy details: The bar and back patio are very nice, especially for the summer months.

The Pineola was 100% a 5 star experience for us. Our daughter was getting married, so there was much activity for 4 days and The Pineola was always there to assist. The rooms were awesome and all of our guests raved about how much they enjoyed their stay at The Pineola. It definitely made the wedding weekend that much more special, such cozy and fun accommodations...just like out of a Hallmark movie!Rooms: We had the adjoining cabins and LOVED it, so much space and very clean. All of our guests enjoyed their accommodations as well.Food & drinks: Our guests LOVED the Tap room!
