I would give this a 10 star rating if it was available!! This Inn is so quaint and adorable!!! The owners were extremely friendly while we we doing our check in. The rooms are very nicely decorated, and very clean!!! The ambiance alone there was awesome!!! After checking out, within 10 minutes the front desk called us to let us know that we had left a personal belonging behind. That definitely went above and beyond in my book!! Everyone was so friendly and sociable, to include the housekeeping staff. We would definitely stay there again!!! Two thumbs up for this Inn!! Thank you for a pleasant experience!!!Nearby activities: There is a Restaurant right by the Inn that we ate breakfast at, called Cranberry Street Cafe and Coffee!!! The staff and food were all GREAT!!!!!

What an amazing little place! My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here last weekend. The whole establishment is clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The only issue I had being a 6 ft. 4 man, was the bed height, they are very low, almost too low in my opinion The beds are only 2-3 ft. at most, off the ground, so tall gentlemen beware. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic stay. My partner and I were in town for a comedy chow she was a part of. The show lasted pretty late so we could not check in before 9pm but the staff was kind enough to call the venue we were at and let us know our room # and how to get in. That was a nice touch. The room was very clean and quite spacious for what we expected. The shower was great and the king bed was probably the most comfortable hotel mattress we've slept on. We spoke with the manager in the morning when we were checking out, and he was very kind and friendly. All together a very nice and welcoming stay in a cool little mountain town. If we're coming through again we will definitely stay here again!

My wife and I came stumbled upon The Inn while looking for Linville overlook and they were able to get us a room last minute and wow I was shocked. The rooms were clean and so cozy only 15 minutes from linville caverns and pisgah national forest. We had an absolute blast welcoming the new year here. The young lady who checked me in was very friendly! If i ever come back out to newland Ill definitely be staying here.Nearby activities: 15 minutes from Linville Caverns and Linville Falls

Comfortable bed and big shower. The bathroom was very nice.

The Inn at Shady Lawn is a vintage, rustic, quaint, no frills motel. The bed in my room was a platform bed, low to the floor, and too soft for me, but may be okay for others. This is a good, clean, quiet place to stay. I like the American flags outside of the rooms, and I honor the military heritage of the original owner. Good value for the money.

We arrived early evening and checked in to room #11. The room had a VERY HEAVY cigarette smell. There were no other rooms available. It was not something we could stay in. The young man behind the desk asked to check out the smell and agreed it was really bad. He refunded the fees, but the problem was there were no hotels with vacancies. We ended up driving on dark mountain roads into Tennessee to find a room. Definitely DON'T stay here.

This place was perfect. Me and my fiance spent 2 days here and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The rooms was so clean and smelled so fresh. The bathroom was wonder. The bed was extremely comfortable. And the staff was so incredibly nice. I would recommend this place to anyone. We were less than 10 minutes from Grandfather Mountain which was perfect. I will definitely be back.

We had a double room. The room was nice, clean and spacious. Shower was incredibly nice and love the natural, organic products they give you. Beds were low but very comfortable. Only complaint would be, as mentioned in other reviews, the AC window unit prohibits the closing of the shutter so there is an area of open window exposed where people could look in. Our stay was really great and we would definitely stay here again!

I had a wonderful stay at the Shady Lawn Lodge! My boyfriend and I stayed the night when I went to go visit him on his Appalachian Trail thru hike. Not only were the rooms were spotless and the bed was very comfortable, but the hospitality was top notch. My family had asked the hotel manager to help arrange the delivery of champagne to our room through a third party service for a small surprise celebration. Once my family realized that the service did not deliver in the area, the hotel manager went out of her way to personally pick up a bottle of champagne, a card, and glasses and deliver everything to our room for check in, completely on the house. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable weekend. Shout out to Amanda from the Shady Lawn Lodge for pulling it all together. If I am ever back in the area I will definitely be staying here again!

Really nice quaint little lodge. The bathroom looks recently remodeled. Parking is small but sufficient. The room didn't have a deadbolt or chain type lock. Housekeeping opened the door without giving us a chance to answer which made me a little uncomfortable. Also the toilet didn't have a lid so you didn't have a place to put your clothes while you were in the shower. The bed was amazing!! I will definitely be recommending this place to family and friends! And I would stay here again!

My husband travels for his job - as in he stays in hotels 3-4 nights a week every week. He happened to be home this weekend and we decided to venture up to the mountains just because. I found the Shady Lawn Lodge online and all the reviews were good, so I took a chance and booked our room. I was a little skeptical at first because I read that not all the rooms had a/c and because I knew it was a smaller hotel. I was pleasantly surprised with a room that was far better than a room I would have gotten in a hotel chain. The staff was incredibly friendly. The room had been completely remodeled - as I understand they have done with the entire hotel). The furnishings were nicer than that which you'd find in a chain. The room was spotless and comfortable. They allow pets, but have a solid pet policy in place. They have no limits on how many people stay in the room so long as you are comfortable. Everything was perfect for our little getaway. I am certain that we will be returning there again.

Very nice place to spend a night. It s an older motel but has been upgraded very well. Rooms are small by today s standards but still quite comfortable. The bathrooms have been redone using good tile and granite which can compete with ritzier hotels. The mattress left more to be desired. It lacked support so almost felt like a foam mattress
