We were on our way to blowing rock from Minnesota. All of sudden our car started to skip and can't go up the hill. We searched for mechanic in town and Mr. Thompson store has the best review.We brought our car in, they started to inspect it right away. They dropped what they were doing and helped us. Mr. Thompson and the staff were so nice.It turned to be a small issues, but we were super grateful for their help!

My 2010 Ford Ranger shift motor went out on a snowy day in Linville Falls and could not get the vehicle out of 4WD Low, so I was stuck not able to go more than 30 mph. USAA had it towed here and sure glad they did. Felt honesty and integrity from the first interaction. They diagnosed the problem and ordered parts and installed them quickly once they arrived. Very fair charge for the repair and left knowing it was done right and feeling assured if I ever had another problem I would get honest reliable service and repairs here.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I was in town from Florida doing some hiking and the front wheel bearings were going out on my van.After doing a search at the local McDonalds using their wifi, I came across this shop.Mr. Thompson eagerly assisted me and promptly began working to solve this problem for me.The job was done quickly, efficiently, thoroughly and with integrity. Further, he priced the job very fairly for the work done on an emergency notice.I enjoyed spending the few hours I was there getting to know everyone at the shop. Great people!I told my wife when I arrived back in Florida that I felt like I had landed in the Andy Griffith show.This shop was a really blessing to me that day and enabled me to relieve the stress from having a vehicle on the fritz 900 mils from home.I can highly recommend this shop from all perspectives.Were I local, I most certainly would make them my mechanic of choice.

I made an appointment for 1pm, I couldn't even get anyone to speak with me until 1:20. They said my car would be done in 2 hours, suddenly, that's turned to 4 hours. I have to cancel other appointments. Grateful to be getting my car worked on. But timing was terrible.
