For what its worth I want to provide my highly valued opinion of Torque Transmission. Little back story Torque Transmission used to be Baldwin's transmission and I had great experiences with them. Several years ago Charles senior retired and left the company to his son Charles Jr who changed the name to torque transmission. I also had a transmission rebuilt during this phase of ownership, but I was charged for items that were never done and the transmission rebuild lasted just over a year 13 months to be exact. So this leads me to my 5 star review of Torque Transmission. during my moment of dissatisfaction from my prior service I contacted Torque Transmission and to my surprise I found out that they we under new ownership that occurred just after my last rebilled not sure of exact dates. So with this new ownership over the last year, you can read the reviews and look at dates and see that they have turned things back around (Congrats). Tray and Susan pride themselves on customer service and look after there customers first and foremost. They have gone above and beyond to assist me in getting my truck repaired even when the weren't making any profit from me. This is what I like to see in a company is put the customer first and do the right thing by them. Tray and Susan truly understand what its like to do business in a small town. So ignore any negative comments that are more than a year old and go give them a shot you want be disappointed.

Hands downs the absolute best experience I've ever had with a shop! The price was fair and my car was repaired in a reasonable and timely manner! More importantly..... I trust them! I will definitely recommend them to everyone!

Trey is the best! Hey helped me out when I couldn t get to his shop and personally helped me get my items to the shop to be worked on. He s up front and so very helpful! Recommend highly!!!!

Had my 2010 Jeep repaired for clutch recently and a few years ago, front end transmission had issues which were fixed. Recommend this place.

Highly recommend... great communication start to finish, very reasonable prices, they even shopped around to find a better deal on the part that was needed without having to ask. I hope I don't need any more repairs but if I did I wouldn't hesitate to go back again!

I am from out of town, had a transmission failure. Got ahold of the guys at torque. And was back on the road within 5 days full transmission replacement. I will recommend this place to anyone local. And if you're from out of town, they will not take advantage of you.

Refreshingly honest. I called to get a price on a particular service. I was told that because of my car's age the service would likely do more harm than good. The person I spoke with then pointed me in a more sensible direction. I applaud Baldwin's integrity.

These guys did excellent work and they were very quick to take care of my vehicle. When I had questions later about the transmission, they did everything they could to ensure my vehicle was working properly. I really appreciate the work they did and the customer service they provided. I highly recommend them!

I had the worst experience of any vehicle repair shop I've ever dealt with & I deal with a lot of them because I sell cars. Well on Wednesday of last week I got my vehicle towed from the dealership to Baldwins hoping to save some money. An employee from Baldwins told me it would be $100 to diagnose the problem with my transmission so I agreed. The next day they called me & told me the repairs would cost $3,500 which I thought was a bit pricey but I told them I wanted it fixed, that's when they told me they're policy was that they wouldn't start on my vehicle until I paid a deposit of $1,700 so I told them I would have it on Friday which was the next day. So when Friday came they called me & told them I wouldn't be able to pay the deposit & I would give them a call on Monday. Over the weekend I found a cheaper solution so I called Baldwins on Monday to pay the $100 for the diagnosis and get my vehicle towed that's when I told me they had already started working on my vehicle & I owed them $750. I asked them what could them have done that would equal to that amount and they said they had took my transmission apart and started cleaning it. So I asked to speak to the owner & explained what had happened & he was unwilling to work with me on solution so I went & paid the $ which ended up being $800. A employee at Baldwins ensured me that all my parts would be boxed up & put in my vehicle. So I got my vehicle towed to over 100 miles & when it arrived the shop called me and said my exhaust & catalytic converter was missing. So I called Baldwins and they told me they had forgot to send it so I ended up having to pick up the parts they didn't send and making the drive myself to take the parts.

We dropped my wife's Tacoma off to this shop and despite Toyota and it's silly part policies Baldwins was able to repair the transmission and drive shaft in short order, in a professional manner and for a more than reasonable price. I would highly recommend their services to anyone! Thank you Baldwins!!!!

Had my transmission fluid and filters changed and they found and fixed a problem I was having. The service was great and reasonable. They are now known as Torque Transmissions but it's the same owner. Extremely satisfied.

Very good experience went in for a transmission diagnostic to see what was wrong with it and found the solution and fixed it. They will always start with the cheaper option to make sure its not a minor mechanical problem and not a major one. Great people and good customer service! I highly recommend if you are having transmission problems.

Took my car to be looked at. They told me that a computer needed replacing and it would be $800 and $100 for diagnostics, so $900 total. fast forward a month, I took it somewhere else for a second opinion. It was one prong on the piece they were saying needed to be replaced... and guess how much it was going to be to replace it? $200. So instead of replacing the piece that needed it for $300-$400, they wanted to replace the whole thing for $1000. What a rip off!

I brought my 2004 Cadillac Deville to Baldwin after Trent Cadillac diagnosed it with a transmission leak. After a little bit of research on the internet I found out it was an internal problem with the 3rd clutch housing bushing. After speaking on the phone with somebody at the shop (I didn't get the name) they told me it would be $38.70 to inspect it and bring it in. I dropped the car off on a Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning I get a phone call telling me there was nothing wrong with the car! I was flabbergasted as the previous day I had a trail of transmission fluid in front of my house and the technician at Trent showed me the leak and another trail of fluid in their shop. Whoever I spoke to also mentioned they checked the fluid level when the car was cold... big no-no on these cars. So I told them to put the car back together. He proceeded to tell me the total charge was $77! I was shocked as he had told me it was $38 previously. What he forgot to mention was that was only the cost to remove the axle and check it out. What a rip off. The car was promptly taken back to Trent Cadillac where the fluid leak was diagnosed and fixed. I was trying to save a bit of money but I'm glad I didn't waste my time with Baldwin. I believe they didn't want to work on the car because they are difficult to fix. I would have rather been told that than lied to. Would not recommend.

If I could go lower on the scale I would, THIS SHOP IS NOT RECOMMENDED!! I was in a desperate situation and taken complete advantage of; I have a 2000 Toyota 4 runner, a friend of mine who btw screwed me over as well, took my trans. out and brought it to the shop, after quite some time they finally said that it was shot, OF COURSE, they gave an estimate of $1300, they needed $800 down, another friend of mine knew my situation and knew the owner n his wife, so I got her to call (on speaker, myself present) and ask them to hold it until I came up with the $ or picked it up. So in a 2 month period that same conversation took place a couple more times, everything was fine. After that, I was gonna go pick it up, so I called and was told that was fine but I needed to pay a $100 for storage, which was totally understandable. So I sent my friend with the cash to pick it up, he was told it was in pieces n some of them weren't even on site, that it was a different employee that did it without thier knowledge and to come back the next day and he would make sure it was back together and ready to go (along with my tork converter). We called down there the next day, got dodged, lied etc. and that was Saturday. Monday morning came, I'm in tears at this point, it was clear that it was not to be touched (and verified several times) My friend, that was a friend of the owners calls AGAIN ON SPEAKER and he goes on to tell her that the $100 was for diagnostics or some BS, and that he spoke to me personally and I gave him the go ahead to do that, AND THE WORST PART WAS THAT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY TRANSMISSION!! I didn't get it back or an apology, what I did get was lies, blown off, and RIPPED OFF!!!!! come to find out (and u can just glance around on the road one day) there are a ton of those 4 runners on the road same make n model, so what they got was something stolen from me to make them some cash. In closing, DON'T TRUST THIS BUSINESS!! They are dishonest, rude, and have no dignity. If they will do that to a single mother with a paralyzed boyfriend and that being their only source of transportation, WHO WONT THEY DO IT TO???

Helped me out of a sludge jam with some good info on what to do in this situation and I got it done and my truck is running great ever since. Id visit again..anyone who will give you advice that works is valuable in my opinion.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This is the place you want to take your vehicle for trans repair and maintenance. They re honest with you and they re not going to overcharge or charge you for something you don t need!

Work completed, after lenghtly delay, Trans oil runs right out on to the ground, had to take it to another Trans shop for further repairs! Place recently sold months ago, reviews are fake, try to stay clear of New Burn Nc.for Automotive work!We Don't recommend this transmission shop!

Chuck rebuilt the trans in our rollback..its never felt more solid and we feel like we can depend on the truck now...that's a great feeling! Thanks Chuck

These guys are awesome very friendly and knowledgeable They have a new staff who go above and beyond I know there were guys there before who had issues and they have got rid of them and the guys there now are top notch thank you again!!!!!!!
