I took my car here to get it inspected, fully knowing nothing was wrong with the car. 20 mins later and they come back saying the lower ball joint was worn out and that for 200$ they would fix it. I took it to 3 other shops for a second and third opinion, all said the car was fine and in great condition. Upon leaving this shop, my car starts sputtering having never had any issue before. Very shady.

Scheduled an appointment for 4 PM to bring my Challenger in to do a rear muffler delete and change the mid mufflers. Paul and his team were very nice, professional, and the prices were very fair. They did the work same day and the final product was fantastic. Quality was top notch. You have my business from now on.

Paul is honest, communicates well. He's patient, kind, and more than fair. I challenge anyone to find a mechanic with ALL of these qualities in the area. Been going there for 2 years. My cars old; I'm glad I can take my cars to Paul and know that I'm in good hands.

Paul is really great. I had to have my car towed to National Discount Muffler and he assisted me promptly. He assisted me and gave me some good advice on how to keep it running better and he did not overcharge me or try to swindle me which he definitely could have because the rocks outside know moreabout cars than I do. I am very happy with my service and I will be intentional about coming back here when I need maintenance.Service: Auto maintenance

My Porsche dealership could not fix the electrical drain. They did a diagnostic and then me for an in-depth electrical wiring diagnostic in addtion. However Paul Maynard at Discount muffler found the reason.. Great Service! Better than the dealer. Smarter too!

I truly cannot say enough good things about Discount Muffler! We were told at the dealership it would be nearly $1000 for a new muffler. We were told by a friend to go to Discount Muffler and I m so very glad we did! Paul got us in the next day, and we had it repaired, better than new that afternoon. The best part is the total bill was $156! We aren t the most mechanically inclined, so we greatly appreciate a reliable, honest Mechanic! I was glad to learn they do more than mufflers, because we are absolutely going to be returning customers for maintenance and pesky check engine light displays!! Service: Exhaust

Paul has been servicing my Buick SUV for five years now and is a fair, intelligent and honest mechanic that strives to help his customers with routine maintenance and specialty repairs that vehicle owners have over the lifetime of owning a car, SUV or truck. He works with the customer to efficiently and effectively make the customers satisfied with his work and is reasonable in his pricing of the work performed. I would recommend Paul to anyone needing any vehicle maintenance or repair work done to try Paul's shop. I'm sure everyone will happy they did!

Paul is a great guy! I've only been a customer for 6 months and he has always treated me very well. I told him that he was my go to guy for all three of my vehicles now and I would tell all my friends about him. He is fair, honest, reasonable and fast! He put two of his guys on my mustang late one Friday afternoon while I ran to get the sticker for my tag. He even offered to stay late so I would have it for the weekend. He's an all around great guy and that is hard to find in the auto repair business!! His mechanics are also very professional and friendly and I highly recommend National Discount Muffler. Thank you Paul!!!

Excellent service, very friendly people! I Took my 2001 Ford F-250 in to remove my muffler and straight piped, they pulled it right in and in less than 20 minutes they were done!! My 7.3 turbo diesel sounds awesome!!! Would highly recommend bringing your vehicles here! Paul was very nice and helpful and he has excellent prices! Thank you

Great service. I had a breakdown and it was on a Saturday. National Discount Muffler was the only nearby mechanic that answered their phone and so I gave them a shot. They fixed my car by Monday and the cost was extremely reasonable. Paul is very good, I would recommend this mechanic highly.

Oil change today (and the wife's car 4 days earlier) was SPOT on. Always is. Paul and the guys could not have been nicer and more knowledgeable. My over 200k mile vehicle runs better than it has in months thanks to the care these guys give. When I buy another vehicle, I won't hesitate to take it to Paul. A+++

Paul is the best man to deal with around town . Period . He does exceptional work. I took my original truck to him 7 years ago for exhaust . Then my grandfather took both of his trucks to him for exhaust . Then I took two of my Silverado s to him for exhaust . Then most recently my foxbody mustang . And hopefully tomorrow I can get another exhaust job done from him . So with this being said , can anybody tell I love getting all of my families exhaust work done from this man right here ? Won t go anywhere else . A++++

Paul and staff are the absolute best. Being a woman, I am always leary of mechanics and them telling me I need work that I do not, but Paul has always been 100% up front with me and even goes so far as to explain what and why he thinks I need something without any pressure. I will not take my car anywhere else! I wish I could give them 10 stars!!

Called this shop after several other shops were rude and couldn't find a date for an oil change. He told me to bring it on in and as soon as I got there he pulled me through and I was gone in 30 minutes with a great price and oil change. Recommend over all these big names there all about money. Great customer service as well. Paul runs a good shop!!

Used to like this place. They installed a dual exhaust on my pickup two years ago on a lift and did an ok job. Went in today to see about a manifold replacement, now my pickup is too long to get on a lift? (Which, by the way you don't need a lift). Apparently if you have a long box or extended cab, this place can't handle your vehicles any more.

The BEST AUTOMATIC IN TOWN!!!!! And I should know I have been all over NewBern last ten yrs. We found little more issues with my truck but was able to be fixed, at a fantastic price and he explains what you may need and gives you options if needed. I will not go any where else for now on!!!!!

Do NOT take your car here. Super shabby work done to my car. Recently had my clutch changed and the mechanic asked who did my exhaust work because it was so crappy. Apparently, they also welded so much he couldn't take off the cat back system easily at all. He ended up dropping my transmission without removing my catback. Very disappointed in the quality of work done here, and I will never recommend this shop to anyone.

One of the most helpful professional shops I've ever been to. competitive pricing expert knowledge, and no pressure from a selling aspect you get exactly what's needed. And best of all I felt right at home with friendly conversation during the whole time my car was being worked on. I highly recommend!
